Bought an HP laptop to replace my windows 7 used laptop. Had them transfer my data from the old to the new. They forgot to transfer my email contacts. Fast forward, I bought the one year service plan. That said, I knew I had a problem with my work laptop. Made the appointment (I understand that many dont like waiting, but that is just because there are so limited PC service centers in Salem). My work laptop was diagnosed with a bad RAM. They replaced it and it cost me $39.99 for the card. While there, they transferred the contacts from the work laptop to my new laptop. Having now been at the Geek Squad more than a couple of times, the staff and service is excellent. Constantly updating on progress by email and text. Face facts, you need an appointment to see a doctor........they are computer (and other tech/appliance) doctors. I highly recommend this service center.

These people have little to no customer service skills, and theyre very difficult to get on the phone. Theyre not so good with follow-through, either, as weve played phone tag with them for the past week. Epic fail.

The absolute worst customer service. I will never buy geek squad protection again. I utilized my geek squad protection to replace a malfunctioning computer charger. They placed the order and gave me a service order receipt that showed the part would be shipped to my home the following week. However, when it did not show up I was transferred from call center to call center, each time reaching a person who could not help me locate the ordered part. I still do not have the ordered part and no one can tell me where it is. I am sure each individual was doing their best, however the system this corporation has built is beyond defective.

I came in to take advantage of the $29 price for replacement of my battery for my iPhone. During the process of removing my screen, the screen cracked. This was probably due to a dent that was on the phone prior but no matter, the Geek Squad owned the problem, assured me that my screen would be replaced and battery replaced or I’d get the entire phone replaced with a new one. I ended up getting a brand new replacement. The service was courteous and knowledgeable. I am thrilled that I don’t have to travel to Portland to get my iPhone serviced anymore. Geek Squad does most things that could be done at Apple Store and the permissions continue to grow. Great experience!

Terrible. Extremely long wait times in house and for the repair. Bounced around, on hold for over an hour just to make a call they ask you to place. Disorganized, not customer friendly. Poor service. Poor prices. Do not recommend at all.

Bought a TV in jan 2017. A few pixels went out this morning. Tried contacting samsung and they told me to contact local repair to have a tech come out. Geek squad was who they recommended. It made sense since I purchased it at best buy. I called and the first question that was asked was if I bought the protection plan. I said no but I will pay to have a tech come out and she said since i didnt buy the plan then they couldnt help me. How can a repair business stay in business by refusing and turning down potential customers? Here is a tip... Help the customers that didnt purchase the plan and charge a service fee. Then when I purchase my next tv I might reconsider purchasing the protection plan. BUT due to the lack of customer service and the snarky attitude with the rep on the phone I will never purchase anything from geek squad and possibly best buy again. Ridiculous

Had to wait 2 days to make an apppntment and was told it was very come to fill out the paperwork. Not true; however, they want approval to wrpe the hard drive clean rather than allowing the option to download to an external drive. They charge just as much ad much, if not more, than the dmall shops in Salem. There is no advantage to use these not friendly customer service big box stores becsuse even the manager claims not to have enough staff to provide the back up service.

I have now spent 2.5 hours over 4 days trying to get a hold of the store or someone who can connect me with the store or even someone who could tell me why THEY WANTED TO GET AHOLD OF ME. And still unsuccessful. Ridiculous. unprofessional. Neither the store nor the site could help me cause I cant talk to anyone who knows anything. And yes i looked on their website to see the status of my order, and it said, again, to call the store. And they didnt even have a manager to complain to... I never do reviews but this is going everywhere. Im very upset

Never broke a phone before, but always buy extra coverage anyway *just in case*. Bought a new phone 3 wks ago and the screen cracked falling off of the sofa...literally about 2 ft onto carpet. That said, I bought the additional 2-yr Geek Squad plan when I purchased it, so I gave them a call to see what to do since Id never had to take advantage of such services before and wanted to know how to go about getting it fixed, hopefully without having to drive out to Best Buy since the nearest one is pretty far away.After sitting on hold for 40 mins, I was hung up on, so I tried the online chat option, which also was pretty useless. At any rate, I wound up having to drive to the Salem store with 2 kids who regularly get carsick, hoping that would not be an issue. I wound up talking to one guy at the Geek Squad desk after waiting in line. He sent me to the mobile counter, where I waited for 10 minutes before a guy told me he was with someone and asked me to wait, which I did for another 20 minutes. At that point, a smarmy guy who looked like Stephen Miller after a decade of meth use condescendingly told me Id have to get a refurb phone...for a screen repair.The plan specifically indicates that a replacement phone will be provided IF it cannot be repaired, but screens can be repaired/replaced. That is like me getting in a fender bender and my insurance company telling me that theyll just send me someone elses throwaway car that they fixed up instead of putting a new bumper on my otherwise-perfectly-fine car. To top it off, they wanted to charge me $200 for a phone that isnt new to replace my phone & telling me there are places that do screen repair where I can take my phone if Id rather keep my exact phone. WHY DID I PAY $159 FOR YOUR 2-YEAR PLAN?Anyway, I wound up calling Batteries Plus and got my screen replaced for $109, about half what Geek Squad wanted to charge me to get someone elses phone, and thats even without including the $159 I paid for the plan in the first place. I also called the Best Buys customer line and got the plan refunded and canceled because its basically a worthless plan unless you have major damage to deal with. Theyll try to charge you to replace devices when repair is the typical solution in order to squeeze the deductible out of you.In the end, I wound up getting hung up on after 40 mins on hold, having a useless chat experience, spending over 2.5 hrs in the car with 2 kids who were not thrilled about it (luckily, neither got sick), and having to deal with a condescending jerk at Best Buy only to wind up taking it to Batteries Plus anyway...where they fixed it for half the cost of the deductible and were 1000x nicer to deal with.Never giving a penny to Best Buy or Geek Squad again.

I was told my device would be repaired in 5-7 days and its been about 2 weeks and still no sign of it being done. I tried calling as well to check on it with geek squad and I was on hold for about 20 minutes +. I wouldnt recommend their service. If you want even fair paced service I would go to just about anywhere besides geek squad.

It was next to impossible to get to a live associate after ten minutes of going in circles I gave up I cannot comment one way or another on the service as I never got that far do to Poor automated phone menu I took my iPad Air 2 screen and battery replacement to batteries plus were I was helped by live people that made it easy to get were I needed to be
