AJs is always my go-to place for any advice or repair for my car. My latest problem was that my drivers side power window was out of its track, and AJs gave me an estimate -- which I always truly appreciate -- and it turned out that the actual repair was much less than anticipated, so that was a plus. My car was repaired more quickly than I had originally thought -- another plus -- and I was completely satisfied with the repair. I am constantly recommending AJs Auto Repair to all my family members and to my friends. Sometimes Ill hear, AJs? Arent they expensive? But I always reply, You get what you pay for at AJs. How much would YOU spend to have your vehicle properly repaired in a timely manner at an HONEST shop? Ill never leave AJs -- Theyre an excellent business in every way.

Excellent customer service. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We were told when we got an oil change that we needed a certain belt replaced. We tried for weeks to get someone to tell us for sure if it needed done and how much it would cost. After being jerked all day we called AJS. They said bring it we will look at it. Ended up on rack another man telling us what was happening. In the end no work needed. They did not charge for their time. Totally a pleasant experience. They have won our business.

I discovered that my 94 Ford F150 was leaking coolant and starting to overheat as I was running errands. I pulled in and asked if I could leave the truck with them. Although their schedule was booked up for quite a while, they kept my truck and said they would fit it in as time allowed. They ended up looking at it the same day and it was fixed the next day. The repair came in several hundred dollars less than the original estimate. I have not used AJs previously, but will be sure to do so in the future.

Called and asked about getting a used motor put in my car, was given a quote and then told that they could not find a motor. I went online and found four motors in less than 3 minutes. Apparently they just didnt want to take my money. Not sure why they didnt want to do my job but I would never use this business. Completely unprofessional in the fact that after telling me they would call me back I waited 3 days before calling them back to find out that they couldnt find a motor

Now that my vehicles are off manufacturers warrantee I needed find a quality repair shop I could trust. I did my research, asked friends and AJs Auto Repair won the contract so to speak. My Mustang had a problem that based on Youtube videos I watched and forums I read could potentially cost me thousands to fix. Any repair shop could have easily charged me for that well-known worst case scenario. I would have been none the wiser. Thats not in AJs DNA. AJs not only solved the problem but scheduled a free followup to verify the problem had been solved. Best $217 I ever spent. Ill be back. Thank you AJs!

AJ service is consistently excellent both in regular service and complex repairs. On my last visit they completed technical issues with skill and went beyond expectations in accommodating me during covid. This included office protocols, Uber pick up, scheduling around my limitations.Now that is excellent customer service!!!!

I switched to AJs a little over a year ago and have been very satisfied with my experience. Appointments are quick to get scheduled. The front desk guys are professionals and friendly. Matt even went out of his way once to pre-order a part for my car based on him remembering that he read about this common problem in my car previously. I was so impressed by this. Because he already had the part ordered, I didnt have to wait for it to arrive after they confirmed that in fact that was the problem. Whenever I call or email, they are quick to reply and give detailed information. They also always keep me up-to-date about the progress of repairs.

I went to them for a air conditioning replacement belt, I’ve never taken any cars into a shop before so to say I was nervous was a understatement as we have all heard horror stories from car shops. The car was dropped off and within the time frame they said it was done! Kevin and Matt are both so kind and nice and I truly enjoyed chatting with them and it’s nice how friendly the shop seemed! I knocked the drivers side mirror off my car and needed to have it repaired ASAP. AJs came to the rescue and it fixed within a couple of days and now I can safely drive again. Had not been to AJs for some years but thought of them when my car started acting up. Urgent need for quick repairs. Call shop at 730, told to bring car in and would try to diagnose same day nut pretty busy. Dropped car off about 815. Would try to call about noon with diagnosis. Called snout then, gave me diagnosis, gave them ok. Expressed urgent need. Called me about 430. All done. They saved my day with good quality work at a reasonable price. Thanks AJs. U da best!

AJs ripped me off big time. I was warned by others but it was to late. They installed a transmission on my 07 Denali and quoted me $1181 before I had it towed to them. We had discussed everything in detail including programming of the transmission which they were capable of doing. Anyway they called me on day 2 of the installation and said they stripped two exhaust manifold studs and it was going to cost an additional $300 to remove the manifold, drill out the studs they damaged and replace them with appropriate gaskets. Keep in mind a new manifold is only around $100-$150 online but I had no choice but to agree since they had already began the process of removing the transmission and were deep in the process. I go to pick up our truck couple days later and the first thing I did was look at the manifold. It was never removed (which they admitted) then charged me $400 for just that repair. They also left metal everywhere under the hood, I have sensors going crazy and the truck has issues. To be fair it could be just bad sensors but I had to blow metal off everything!!! You think they could at least clean up their work after screwing me over. It gets even better...they charged me $60 for studs that are cheap hardware store grade 5 zinc plated bolts, nuts and washers that do not even fit correctly!!!! I sent them a nice email saying thanks for getting our truck back on the road and asked to discuss the ridiculous charge with ZERO reply in over a week. See you in court AJs!!!!!

We have taken our cars to AJs for over 20 years and have been very satisfied every time. They are high mileage cars and have at times required extensive repairs. Always these are done within or below the initial estimate, and the work is always professional and of high quality. This time we took our 2002 Honda Insight in for an oil change and they fixed a latch on the glove box at no extra charge. They were booked solid for two weeks, but fit me in within the week and had the car finished and ready to turn over to me with a smile.

Perfectly prompt service at a reasonable price. They even have someone on site who is able to service my hybrid prius, which I cant say about every auto shop.

I was treated with courtesy and respect at AJs. I just purchased a used vehicle. There were some repairs I was aware that were needed. I asked for a check to see any other emerging issues. The rear brakes were then replaced and the oil changed. After leaving AJs, I experienced battery issues. I also noticed that waning lights were still on. I asked for those issues to be addressed and the warning lights to be turned off. I have to take it back on Monday for the further repairs. I am glad to have a repair shop that has such a good reputation but I dont really understand why he warning lights were ignored. Anyway, we will get it done together.

Took my car in for a brake job, and was pleasantly surprised to learn I actually didn’t need new brakes. It is so nice to know there is an honest business in town that does excellent work.Also, it is so comforting to know they will transport you to and from their facility. We take our vehicles here for all maintenance and repair needs. Had a sudden issue with our newest one, so dropped it off unannounced and they were able to fit it into their schedule the very next day. Called with diagnosis (explained clearly and answered all my questions) and cost, then had it ready for me early the next morning. Great folks, great service!

Lets be honest. No one wants auto repair bills, but when that happens (and it will) you want someone you can trust to be thorough, honest and dependable to get the job done right. In the past, I have taken vehicles to various businesses in many states and I have never had the caliber of service that I have had with AJs. They have never sold me service that my vehicle didnt need and they always explain why it needs it and implications if its not done. They leave the decision to you. They are not pushy about getting you to do things to your vehicle if you dont want it or maybe doesnt need it at that very moment. My vehicle is a major investment that I take seriously and I am so glad that I found a place that I can take it knowing that they have my back when it comes to repairs and issues. Im glad to know that my car repairs are in good hands.

Made appointment for 10:15 am, to have the car diagnosed for car pulling to the right and possible wheel damage. Brought it in on time, went home and waited for a call...12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, havent even looked at the car yet. 2:30 called them, and still had not even finished the exam yet. Not much chance in getting the car worked on that day. Told them I wanted to come get the car and forget about the inspection. Not one single word from them to try and remedy the situation. I was just told to come and get the car. I then read over a dozen reviews from people stating same thing happened to them. Huge disappointment since i had had good experiences with them in the past. They never even attempted to make anything right with me. Nothing. Just gave me the keys. I was never irate or showed any anger or nothing... I really do not understand it, but then i read several reviews here and on yelp that suggest it is normal for people to wait for hours for something simple before it got done, or it was held for a day or more without work being done. I was so disappointed.

I recommend this place. Great service and a fair price. My husband does alot of his own work on are cars, however he got stuck and needed a mechanic. They did some surgery on are car and were able to fix the problem without pulling the engine, which would have cost more. If and when we need to take our car to a professional, itll be AJs Auto Repair. UPDATE: we took our car in to have the AC fixed. (Summer 2019) Again, a great experience. Less that we thought. They even fixed a minor dashboard problem (no charge). I trust this shop.

These guys know what theyre doing. Ive always been able to get what I need and my car leaves their shop on excellent shape every time super friendly people. They also do courtesy rides: take you home when you drop off the car and come get you when its ready. Sometimes the wait is longer than estimated but thats only because theyre so busy from being so popular. Every time they quoted me a price estimate, the total was within $10-$40 so no surprises when the bill comes up.

Make sure to check coupons for their services online! It was a $59.95 value for free! It was my first time getting a car safety inspection from them for a car I was thinking of purchasing. They are very helpful, really know their stuff about cars, and are able to give estimates for any repairs or tune ups. I highly recommend for anyone needing great service, funny staff, and reasonable prices.

I have taken my vehicles to AJs for years now. All work or needed repairs are thoroughly explained to me. When I took my vehicle for a major maintenance I received a phone call telling me that a couple of the items on the list were not necessary as they were already done. They could have easily done things again, but instead not doing what was not needed, thus becoming an outstanding business by being so honest. Recently I had a question and they spent 20+ minutes on the phone explaining the answer to my question and making sure I understood everything. Outstanding service from a great business!!!

My husband took his car here a few months ago and had a great experience. Great communication, got the car in and it fast (a few days for some engine work), and the car is still working great!My car has been making noises so I took it in today to have it looked at. You lost me when you said you needed to see the car in person in order to estimate an exhaust manifold gasket swap. As if this exhaust manifold is different than any other K series. Good laugh lol

Every time I use AJs I get excellent service. As such, I am a repeat customer. This time AJs managed to upstage themselves. I thought I was in for a $1200 two-day repair. I picked up my car 2 hours later with >$70 repair. A business with less integrity could have figuratively raked me over the coals. AJs did not. Add together the superior workmanship, their integrity and their amazing front desk staff; you get an auto repair shop you can trust. I consistently recommend AJs to those within my sphere of influence.

Warning.!!! Stay clear of this place. My elderly Aunt and Uncle took their car checked and repaired. They were told a special hand pump would have to be used to check the motors pressure.!!!???? To properly diagnose the problem of the car since it kept stalling out.!!!????? They had to have it towed from their shop to be released.!!??? Coersion to senior citizens., women and minorities. Hold their car unless you agree to their demands for their price of repairs.!!!??? 😠😠😠 Zero stars if I could.!!!!! 👅👅👅

They did an awesome job replacing my water pump. I was concerned because I was having to refill radiator overflow more than before so they rechecked. Gonna send estimates on a couple little water leaks.

Veterinarians and auto repair shops have something in common: they have their customers over a barrel because average people do not know exactly what their pets or cars need to stay in shape and were trusting them not to take us for a ride (but we frequently suspect they are). AJs defies that stereotype completely and is the BEST auto repair business I have ever used. Their prices are reasonable, I never feel theyre adding on repairs that arent needed, and all the people who work there are friendly and helpful. Simply the best in every way. I love these guys!

Was recommended by a friend a few years back. Ive been to Ajs twice in the past two years. Most recently, my battery died at a nearby gas-station. Got a jump and went to AJs for a drop in to see if they could check my battery. They took a quick look and managed to get me up and running within 45 minutes. Prices are reasonable and the staff personable and friendly. Would recommend!

I recently had a used (hybrid) vehicle pre-purchase inspection done at AJs Auto. John was extremely patient with my questions and I left feeling confident enough to buy the vehicle. Their pricing was fair and the inspection was thorough.

Made a appointment with them and got a price on my repair. Showed up a few minutes early to drop my car off and they didnt give me a call all day.. They treated me like an idiot and said I never had a appointment and gave me a completely different number for my repair. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!!!!! The lady at the desk has no idea what shes doing!! The one and ONLY good thing about this place is Pete.

A body shop, which I shall not identify, failed to reconnect the wiring when our bumper was removed for work so that we could not open the cover for the gas tank. A Js not only took our car as soon as it opened in the morning, two mechanics removed all of the trunk covering to reach and reconnect the wiring while I waited so that I could get gas for the return trip to Portland, where we now live, and then refused to let me pay for their time and trouble. Tried A Js out after they won Chamber Small Business of the Year a couple of years ago. We have had both cars there multiple times and have been pleasantly surprised every time. This last time I was called and given a quote for some repair and when I showed up, the bill was actually less than the quote! Nice doing business with a great business who are Chamber members!

Extremely condescending towards women, and will try to swindle you.When I called to make an appointment they kept questioning what type of car I said it was over the phone, like I couldnt understand the difference between a manual and automatic-and it only got worse from there. It should have been the first big red flag.We took it car in to be diagnosed because it was slipping out of first gear. They kept changing what they said was wrong with it, and each time they told us a different thing, it was something pricier to fix than the last. They had our car for a total of seven days, when we took it in for an initial diagnosis that should have taken a day or less. When they called the first time they said they could fix it in an hour or so. Second call and they said that it turned out they were wrong and the part they needed to replace wasnt in the same place as the diagram they were looking at and that our model was different. So they charged us for another hour of work that was because of their misinformation! Eventually they tried to say it was the whole transmission. We told them we just wanted our car put back together and they would call us when we could pick it up.We got radio silence for three days before we were fed up and showed up to pick it up. When we showed up whatever they had done made our car even worse! It wouldnt shift into any gears except second and that was difficult. John, Mike and the men there are not the people you want to take your car to.

This place just out right ripped me off. I took my car in to get a stall out problem fixed. They took longer than they said it would take. I picked my car up and drove three block away and it stalled again. I went back and got lip from the guy behind the counter. I had it towed back and was charged again for the exact repair. When I picked my car up the mouthy guy with a ponytail follows me out to me car and glared at me the whole time I was pulling away. I told the ladies at the bank about the whole thing and turns out they also got ripped off by AJs. I will never go back.

Dont take your car to this place for service, I gave it one star because I could not give it a ZERO, they prey on woman, people with little mechanical knowledge, bad service, VERY DISHONEST, and an ARROGANT manager. Today Automotive across the street is a MUCH better place. Please, read all reviews within last year, You will see they have more negative reviews then positives. Thanks to Google Reviews. Please let every one in your family, friends, neighbors, relatives, co-workers know about my own experience with AJ s Auto Repair shop, so they would not fall into their scheme and losing their hard earned monies. There are plenty of better shops around.

They were very professional and respectful.I believe the mechanics name was Collin, he actually took the time to answer a few questions I had and explain it so i could understand. They messed up my SUV, after converting my suspension to springs from airbag, which they recommended due to costing to much to check for a leak, cause it could take hours and hours. They didnt bolt the tires tightly and my wheel fell off. Literally. They held my vehicle for MONTHS making me buy new wheels and tires for it, then tried to make me pay them to fix their mistake. I put my food down finally after being fed up with their lies and they finally fixed their mistake. I would never go back to them they after all their lies. Had they been honest up front I would consider it but they tried to cover it up. His thing I got a second opinion from another mechanic or else they would have gotten over on me.

I brought my VW Beetle in for a diagnosis and the guy said it would be $125.00 he tried to RIP me off!! I always pay the standard rate of $80 for a simple diagnosis. I asked why so expensive and he said cause they have a special vw membership key. Lies. Trying to fool woman. Dont go.

Dishonest! Be very cautious if you go here. The front desk people are very nice, but you will be overcharged for the work. Not to mention that youll be lucky if they even fix the right thing!!... you might even end up paying a lot of money just to have your car towed out of here with the same problem it came in with. Plenty of other shops in town. Many are even within blocks of this place. Youd be better off somewhere else.

We had someone cut the fuel line of one of our company trucks. After calling another repair shop and not getting the response I wanted to hear. I called AJ Auto Repair, from the very beginning they asked questions about the make/model of our truck. I knew these guys will take care of it. I dropped it off in the morning and said it will be ready by the next day! The following day, I received a call from them saying my truck is fixed! These guys do what they say they are going to do! I took in a Toyota Camry in today for a pre-purchase inspection and the guys at AJs auto repair were such gentlemen! The whole staff is very welcoming, I felt right at home and they took care of me right away. I could already tell I picked a very honest and trustworthy place to take the car. The men that were working seemed very well-trained & knowledgable. They gave me a checklist after the inspection and explained everything about the car to me. They treated me with respect and did not talk down to me at all. (I am a 23 year old female buying my first car without help/I have experienced men talk to me like Im an idiot when going in to auto shops)One employee asked me if I needed a ride anywhere while I was waiting... Another offered me the wifi password to use and a cup of coffee while I waited... And another offered me employee lunch!!... Also my phone was dead so one of them let me borrow their charger! (...which I wouldve been screwed without since I am from Corvallis & had no idea how to get around Salem)Anyways.. ALL of the persons I talked too, were very attentive, and knew what I was talking about and what was wrong with my car.
