Hands down Worst place to live, you pay a price to rent a apartment to have a “Home” but this place feels nothing like home. You can’t trust to leave things in your car or it’ll get broken into or people/children will vandalize your vehicle. Management changing every 3-6 months. I’ve been here for 2 years and I can highly recommend not staying here, if COVID didn’t effect so many things I would definitely be gone. And I had a broken toilet for a year. The maintenance people knew about and so did management after complaining 15x about there tool they left in my toilet they brought a new one. Just Sad here……………..

I have lived here coming up on 3 yrs now I used to love this place but as the years go by Im not liking this place much anymore management seems very disorganized and there is a lack of communication between all of them I applied to a 3 bedroom and they told us we had it and everything through the whole process and we had our place packed up and everything, 4 days before move out date they told us we made too much and told us we couldnt have the 3 bedroom. I am not happy with this place at all

We have been living here for over 2 months had some issues with out cabinets as soon as we let the office know about the issue maintenance came the next day super pleased with how fast that was taken care of

This place has very poorly management. Because they pick and choose who what what they do about seriously problems. Its a Mexican kid here pulling knives on kids in these apartments. Why 😭 dont bring your kids here

I have been here nearly a year now. Im a struggling single father and have found so much support and help from Latisha I cant put into words. Thank you. Also Monica and the staff have been so kind and helpful. My son and I are blessed to be here right now. 👍

All new appliances including washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge. WiFi built in, just have to hook it up. This place has it all and is very affordable. There is plenty of parking always, a kids park, a really nice gym, a dog park, the complex always looks well maintained. The only negative I can say is there are way too many dogs in here. Ive been here 10 months and am happy with my service and living space. Maintenance does a remarkable job fixing emergency issues.

* I WANT TO START BY SAYING BEAUTIFUL APARTMENTS! I want to also give a HUGE S/O to Monica. Fruitland Meadows is so lucky to have her. She is the only good person in that office so if you move in, please go through her! You’ll hear me talk about how she helped me in the review but keep in mind she’s an angel! *The apartments are beautiful! The best apartment I’ve lived in so far. Only bad thing I would say is when I lived there, management changed a few times. I had trouble with them (corporate and new manager) claiming I resigned a lease I never signed as I told them I was moving to Arizona (why would I resign another lease?) so instead of getting my return back, they tried to charge me around $1300. Monica called me ASAP before corporate or anyone else could email or call me and told me not to stress and that we’d get it handled. I was very disappointed as Avenue5 never reached out to me and the new manager handled the situation poorly by making false promises or simply “forgetting” to reach out to me or corporate. She even told me once on the phone 30 minutes before closing that she’ll deal with my issue in the morning because she’s going home. At this point, I was burnt OUT trying to get in contact with the new manager and corporate that I reached out to Monica again - what do you know? She got everything figured out for me within 48 hours and my return back!Only thing I would recommend if you move into this apartment is make sure you have copies of everything! Even emails.The apartment itself (including maintenance) 5/5 stars. I loved my studio.Management & corporate (minus Monica) 3/5 stars.

Shannon is an AMAZING manager!! We are truly gonna miss her! We loved our apartment! Im sad to move, but Im happy for who moves in there! They are in great hands with such amazing staff!

Very quiet, clean, nicely maintained complex! The new management staff is way better and very efficient! Shannon is literally the best manager I’ve met, and is super friendly! Highly recommended Fruitland Meadow!

I tried getting in contact with someone/anyone for almost a month. I left many emails and called daily. Nobody ever answered the phone. For a while the voice message was full. But even though I left detailed messages multiple times my calls were never returned. My emails were followed up with a courtesy email suggesting I contact a number with a leasing agent. However that number corresponds to their parent company. The lady I talked to was very nice but said she couldnt help me with renting at Fruitland Meadow. She directed me back to the Fruitland Meadow number I had called every day already. I dont like going out of my way to write bad reviews about places unless its well deserved. Fruitland Meadow is probably a nice place to stay. It seems affordable which is rare to find in Salem. I also understand that during the time of Covid places arent giving tours and are probably understaffed. Maybe the place is already booked to capacity. None of that excuses absolutely NO customer service. There could have been a message on the machine stating the place is currently booked. That wouldve been just fine. But nothing? No email response beyond the customary? No follow up what so ever?

They can’t even have the decency to answer an email. These Apartments are beautiful but with their lack of care to at least answer a question is ridiculous. Read reviews before emailing them hoping I’d have a different experience but no. Why work if you’re not doing your job?

Please read the edit I added on June 22 2020. I want to add that Monica has always made me feel welcome. She is outstanding and always polite, professional and fun to talk with.Annie, Melissa and Jason did a great job getting me into an apartment. The staff here is polite, courteous and smart. They know their job and do it very well. The application process was handled very well and only took a couple of days. Jason walked through the apartment with me checking all the appliances and faucets. These apartments are built very well and have plenty of space and storage. I highly recommend Fruitland Meadow.This is a update on my review. June 22nd 2020I have been down to the rental office a couple of times in the last two weeks to inquire about the status of the gym and club house. As i was reading the postings on the door the manager came to the door, opened it and asked if she could help me. She made me feel very unwelcome, and i felt like i was not able to enter the club house. I have been living here for over a year and the previous manager made me feel very welcome, always saying hello how are you, come in sit down and talk with us.I do not feel welcome at the club house now. I feel like i should go away and not bother anyone in the leasing office. There has been a significant change in how you are treated as a resident. I will say this again I do not feel welcome here at Fruitland Meadow . I will not be renewing my lease when it is up.I do not recommend Fruitland Meadow as a home to anyone.Good Luck.

I applied for an apartment for about a month now & no response of any kind. I keep calling & some Melissa (or something like that) has been very rude & tells me she will call back & still no call back. These apartments are so nice but with that type of management I rather go elsewhere. Can’t imagine how they will act once you are a resident.

Don’t rent from here they don’t know what they are doing. I rented from them for a year with my roommates. I moved out before our lease was up because I moved to another school but I was still paying my half of the rent. When our lease was coming to an end I called them so many time to see if there was anything I need to to do to end the lease because I was not staying on the lease with my roommate they said no and next thing I know the lease is over and they started me on another lease. So they ha some fill out a LEGAl Document to remove myself off the lease and the legal documents states that I can get my half of the deposit back and her new roommate has to give them a deposit. They said they don’t expect that legal document but they gave me that legal document. They said that my old roommate and her new roommate need to pay me back. Well that is not happening because they are scandless roommates. I told apartment that they need to give me my half the deposit because I am not on the new lease anymore because they gave me the legal document to sign off. Here we are in January because they haven’t giving me my deposit still. I take them to court I get to court come to find out they kept me on the new lease and gave the whole deposit back to my roommate. I had called and called and called them to figure what was going on but because they are lazy terrible property manager I couldn’t find anything out. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!! They don’t know what they are doing. Each person in that office tells you something different. Also they never check up on their apartments so don’t trust them. My roommate broke so many rules but they wouldn’t know because their butts never left those chairs and just sat behind a screen probably playing games

The manager here is SO rude! I called to get some information on the affordable housing after sumbitting my application and she was not helpful at all. Never had an experience with a manager being so RUDE and hostile EVER. Bad customer service of a manager but all the other staff are helpful.

It’s really frustrating when you are paying just under $1300 a month for rent and you are NOT guaranteed a parking spot near your building. It is a huge inconvenience. Not to mention how constantly Dirty the kids park is. Don’t let me forget about the fact that a large majority of people who live here just throw their garbage on the floor not even in the empty dumpsters.
