Very happy with our master bathroom remodel by Yancey. I dont typically write these reviews, but these guys impressed us. From start to finish, the staff was professional, and the job was completed in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. Our sales rep, Scott Tueckes, did a fantastic job guiding our project and offered helpful design suggestion during his visits to our home. He followed through during the construction phase to resolve minor issues. Linda, the office coordinator, did a good job keeping us informed about scheduling and was quick to process electronic change orders. Our general contractor, Misha, did great work and kept us informed along the way. The bulk of the project was tile work, and the installer, Oleg, did a truly incredible job. Hes meticulous in his work, and always asked our preference before making an irreversible decision. If you have the fortune of getting him on your job, you wont be disappointed. The project had some minor hiccups along the way, but all were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. There are probably cheaper ways to do a remodel, but the folks at Yancey do quality work at a fair price.
My inspiration company..my ex-husband used to work for them. One day, about 15 years ago, lol I attempted to submit my resume to this company because I wanted to incorporate myself in to the construction industry..I was young and un-experienced and my resume didnt make it. But I was very inspired by the owners and staff and told myself that one day I would be a someone in this industry.. now Im a supervisor and handle restoration and construction projects here in Vegas, and assist with the Bay Area, Chicago project, and I have my own handyman service company. I love my job and I dont care how dirty I get lol pleasing to see a before and after from tear out to finished remodel..
Gave us an estimate that was lower than the others we gotbut tried to put a bunch of stuff as extras when the contract was presented that the other companies had included. Very pushy and confusing.
Linda Louis did a fantastic job of assisting me with a Mr. Steam shower seat. Parts needed replacing and thanks to her superior customer service I was able to work through the problem. Without her assistance I was ready to tear the wall out and replace. Yancey Co is lucky to have such a valuable employee.
I strongly recommend the company for home improvements. Slavic did a good job on our new bathroom. They were so accommodating. We changed our preferences couple of times and they were so flexible. The project was done in two weeks.
Loved my experience! Everyone was super helpful especially Cassie. They be ere courteous and professional through the whole experience. The confidence in their workmanship is out of this world! Will for sure recommend again! Pleasant experience through and through!
Great experience. Everyone was very helpful and made sure I always knew what was going on with my kitchen remodel. No complaints here! I highly recommend.
Yancey home improvements has been around forever and it shows. They have a great crew and very attentive sales people who make you feel heard.
This company is like a car dealer. Stay away. Their entire sales approach is gimmicky, and Im so glad we walked away prior to giving them our money. The salesman was very friendly, but the entire thing is a joke. He came to our home 3 times (which is all part of the gimmick), the 4th time you go to their showroom. When he first came to our house the cost was quoted from $35k - $45 (max), with it being closer to the middle ($40k). Somehow the number kept creeping up although there was NEVER a breakdown of what anything cost. He repeatedly reassured us that we would receive a breakdown in the showroom so that we could determine where we could cut cost if desired.Once in the showroom, which is hours long, he presented us with a $60k quote, but told us he was giving us discounts down to $48k. The $48k was still above the original amount quoted, but where did the $60k come from?! NEVER was $60k mentioned anywhere at anytime. It seemed to be part of the gimmick to get us to sign a contract right there, like we were getting some great deal. he even mentioned how we were the last customers to get a lower cost on the quartz due to price increases, but we had to sign the contract THAT day in order to lock in the price. It was all presented as if they were giving us a great deal.We selected ALL base level items so were confused as to how we went over the original $35k-$45k quote. When we asked for a breakdown to see where we could cut costs, we were told they absolutely cannot provide a breakdown as it is proprietary (yet he repeatedly told us we would be able to see a breakdown in order to cut costs if desired). By the end of the 14 million hours you have spent in their showroom you are exhausted, and pretty much willing to sign the contract just to get out of there. The entire thing was BS and such a waste of time. Thankfully my husband said he wanted a few days to digest the quote, and the salesman asked us what he could do to get us to sign today (car dealership, much?). We set a phone call to speak with the salesman a couple days later. When I emailed to tell him we didnt think we should move forward, he didnt even respond. Literally we have never heard from the guy again. I think that gives a glimpse of how they handle customer service... This place is going to rip you off. Steer clear!
Our shower remodel looks great and is safer thanks to the new safety bars. Dan and Jessie did a wonderful job installing everything, were helpful in scheduling the work to fit with our schedule, were very knowledgeable, and gladly answered all our questions. Yancy was very easy to work with, and addressed any questions we had promptly. We are satisfied customers!
I had an excellent experience working with Yancey for my home remodel. From the first communication down to the job completion everything went smoothly. I would highly recommend anyone local to this company choose them, you wont be disappointed with the professionalism or the quality of work. And as we know, choosing a contracting company can be a daunting task. Make it less so with Yancey.
Initial estimator was extremely knowledgeable about project needs and governmental requirements. Project coordinator not only helpful and knowledgeable, but also persisted in pursuing solutions. Workmen were outstanding: Tim accomplished a huge amount of work whether on his own or with Brains contribution. Everything looks lovely, but the tile work on the wall and floor is outstanding! And on top of all this, everyone I spoke with at Yancey was pleasant, positive, professional and nice. Many thanks.
I highly recommend Yancey company they just finished remodeling our kitchen we could not be happier! From our designer to our installers all were top notch.
This company is so professional and friendly, I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Very on time and respectful. I absolutely love my new bathroom! FINALLY somewhere I can relax in peace! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
All the staff there are very knowledgeable and professional. They have so much to offer to meet any home improvement need. I recommend them to all; you will NOT be disappointed!
Im soo blown away with how great my patio cover came out! It really ties my whole backyard together and now Im ready to take on this coming California summer sun! Thank you to everyone who helped me out and assisted with so many of my questions and thank you for being so flexible and able to work around my busy schedule. Next project: New front door!!!!
These guys did an excellent job on my bathroom remodel. The tile work is perfect. So glad I spent a little extra to use a professional company to do this job.
This was our first patio cover so we were unsure of what we wanted. Yancey made it really easy for us to decide what style and what functionality was possible. The team was great; from beginning to end it was a pleasurable experience. If we were to do it all over again, i would still hire them.Thank you,
My kitchen remodel with Yancey exceeded our expectations! Big Jim and Able are dynamite duo. We will definitely be working with Yancey on our master bathroom remodel next year!
HERES A REAL REVIEW. NO STARS. I had the WORST EXPERIENCE with YANCEY. They DIDNT pay attention to details. My new shower DIDNT have Hot water. He started a fire in my bathroom when he was welding the water pipe behind the shower wall. My mirror and bathroom lights was hung to low. I couldnt see myself from the neck up. The sliding shower door is not level so the door will not stay shut, it slides back causing water to leak out while Im in the shower. They messed up the shower nozzle because they clamped down to hard on the metal when they screwed it to the wall. The tile person KEVIN DIDNT GROUT in between some tile. When we contacted YANCEY they sent KEVIN out to screwup the job even more. He doesnt show up the day he was scheduled. Shows up 3 days later. The grout is chipping after 1 week. He DIDNT attach my toilet because after he put the tile down the bolts were to short and now my toilet wobbles. The door gets caught on the floor when I open it. If a friend did the job I cant complain but when you PAY for a service through a company I expect the work to be done correctly. Plus Someone put there tools on my dresser and scratched the wood.THEY DIDNT PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS AT ALL, AND CAUSED MY FAMILY A LOT OF STRESS.
Bath remodel turned out great. Some dry rot repairs added to the time it took but the end result was great. Very happy.
People where nice enough, but have concerns about the quality of the work. Job was not fully done according to what was agreed upon and they had to come back to repair items that where installed incorrectly. In the end, not worth the price or the frustration.
This was the first time Ive had a professional painting job done on my home and Yancy was amazing! I recieved such great service from Cassie throughout the process. I will be be coming back for future projects!
Cassie was who helped me, with my siding, she was amazing! Top notch customer service, and went above and beyond my expectations, HIGHLY recommend!
This project was completed under expected time and cost by very competent workers. The kitchen was totally demolished and rebuilt exactly as i wanted it done. The area was always neat and orderly during the process. I am so very happy with my NEW KITCHEN!.Jonnie Grosshans
Ordered a roof to be replaced January 2018. Construction and scheduling didnt start until the end of April 2018. Mid April received a confirmation call and tentative schedule date for the end of April 2018. Didnt receive any other phone calls about the roof installation until I called myself to confirm the tentative scheduled date. The next day the demolition crew arrived at 0645am to tear the roof out. Multiple times it was re-iterated that I had to be home for the first day because of payment and any other possible roofing access issues that may be found. After the demolition crew left, I called around 1100 to verify the time schedule for the installers to arrive. During the last history phone calls, I told the scheduler numerous times, that I had to leave by a certain time to go to work. Needless to say I had to call them only to find out that they were on their way it was 1230pm the time I needed to leave for work. I ended up have to take time off from work, and listen to an excuse, of well you didnt have to be there for the entire time...we only...we only... blah blah blah...Its unfortunate! Because every customer service representative and salesman have all been steamed rolled into please dont hire them. I will ensure every person I know is told about this debacle of taking unnecessary time off, excuses, and broken promises. They are not professional nor the best at keeping the timeline or word.
Very pleased with Yancey Company they did a remarkable job. Great Customer Service!
We hired Yancey to do our roof and we sure are glad that we did. They were not the cheapest bid that we received but their length of time in business and commitment to quality made the decision easy. The job went smoothly and they kept us informed each step of the way! Highly recommended!
I want to thank Yancey for letting me out of the contract that I signed, even though I went beyond the 3 day right to cancel clause, they were understanding of my situation, the professionalism exhibited by the project designer and the project manager were much appreciated and I would definitely use them is the future
I made a appointment with a sales person. She asked how much my last estimate was, I told her and she said she could not beat that price., She never offered to maybe use some different materials maybe less expensive. Never tried to lower the price. I got the idea it was beneath her to do the ob for less. I have never heard of a company that didnt offer other prices to lower the cost, I would never recommend Yancey to the everyday working stiff. Its beneath them
Great work, great price, very knowledgeable. I would recommend to my friends and family.
The company was hired to complete a bath remodel. My bathroom is very small, but it has taken these contractors almost 5 weeks to complete. Tomorrow will be five weeks on the calendar, which includes precisely one day for holiday, and I still dont have a faucet. Verbally I was given an estimate of 2+ weeks, but they have had consistent problems performing to work schedule, things apparently out of sequence, problems with defective parts that have had to be replaced which causes other delays. This includes basics like not taking exact sizes until late in the process which causes for the delays, such as sliding door, and then the event I have been with only none or partial bath functions for weeks. Communication is also mixed, I have had to reach out on more than one occasion just to get updates on what they are planning to do and when, and even then they have to do a lot of internal calling to find out when they can come back and do the next stage of a job.As another example, when they installed the shower I came home after a trip to discover it only gave cold water and slightly lukewarm water at the maximum setting, o it was not pleasant. After emailing and talking to them they promised to come in and fix it but it was going to be several days before they could do so. I waited.I came back from the next trip and the tip of the faucet is broken off, and now the shower only gives scalding hot water with no cold whatsoever. I dont understand why getting a faucet right for a shower is so difficult, coming from a company that claims to be specialists in bath remodels. Finally there was a weekend where I was away and they locked my cat in the master bedroom. She was with out food and water and when I got back late Sunday discovered her dehydrated. As she had no access to her litter she had befouled the bed which required 24 hours for professional cleaning and lots of laundry hassle. The company at first denied knowledge of the cat despite multiple instructions on leaving the doors open as well as how to manage the alarm system given the presence of a cat. I dont know what wouldve happened had my trip been extended a day or two later, my cat couldve died in the summer heat. So please make sure they exercise maximum caution if you happen to have pets. They told me they would post signs in the house for workers to be cautious of the cat, but the signs never appeared that I can see, so ... another verbal promise on the phone. So if you have pets make sure you have them acknowledge that in writing. Dont trust any verbal commitments they make.My recommendation for anyone working with this company is to get time commitments in writing with financial penalties that apply for problems due to lack of schedule and consistency, defective parts that are ordered and installed then have to be torn out and reinstalled etc. This is a lesson learned for me as I have a kitchen and second bath to do later but now at least I know the kinds of things to look out for.
In June and July of 2013 I hired Yancey to upgrade my bathroom. Everyone was real friendly; however, the only time you see anyone other then the general workers is right before you pay your money. After the work was done no one in charge came out to inspect the work. The toilet leaked and they came out twice. The painting was bad, the guy tried to fix it, but he just didnt have the skill for it. My neighbor actually laughed and asked if I did the painting myself. The caulking around the bathtub cracked in the first 2 months-and yes I called numerous times and was told someone would get back me, caulking cracked around the toilet and it wobbles. The installed light switch crackles -has from the beginning (cant be good)- I just noticed today that underneath the sink the wall is wet and there is a bad smell. Now you ask WHY HAVENT I CALLED- I DID!! Do I have a record of it- No. Next question would be why havent I gotten all of this fixed--I dont have any more money- I gave it to Yancey 4 years ago
Worst construction experience in 50 years of home ownership. I have had 2 houses built and 5 remodels.
Eric Nichols was by far the most knowledgeable and professional salesman and roofer we talked to, and we had gotten 5 bids from other companies. Everyone else was great to deal with and for the size and scope of the project, we would give you an A.
I made an appointment for a solar estimate and nobody showed up.
Thank you for the amazing job on our kitchen remodel! We love it!!!
Great team, Yancey! We enjoyed having Jim & Bryce in our house. And we have our new kitchen!
This was the worst experience we have ever had with a business. They are very misleading in what to expect. There was very little oversight by the project manager. We had to over see every detail otherwise our floor tile would be on our shower wall. When we met the salesman to review the bid it was like buying a used car. We should have listened to our gut. High end prices with low end service. Very disappointed and will not recommend or use them again.
No good,!!!
Thank you Linda and the rest of the Yancey team for the amazing bathroom remodel!! Could not be happier!
I have only been in this place of business once. But it very nice.
Yancey is a great company and did a great job on my parents home! Check them out if you want the job done right!
Excellent workmanship- will definitely recommend your co + use again for future projects! Miguel and Staff were wonderful.
We had several people come out over the past couple of years for a design consultation for a remodel of our kitchen. We did not care for their design layouts. We met Ernie at a home show in Auburn and decided to have him come out to evaluate our remodel. Tom Yancey and Ernie came out and spent several hours reviewing what we wanted. When they returned with a design, we didnt recognize that it was our kitchen. The design blew us away because it was so different from any other designers suggestions. The design included an island that totally changed the concept of our kitchen. Without adding any square footage to the house, the design doubled the size of our kitchen. The crew, consisting of Mike, Pat, and Brandon, did outstanding work, and were a real pleasure to have in our home. Our two small dogs made friends with them immediately!Patricia was our office contact and did all the orchestration of any concerns we had during all phases. The project was completed in just over four weeks and the results were outstanding. We also had Yancey redo our master bath/shower. Tim was the installer and did a beautiful job on the tiling. We were really pleased. We had a problem with our ceiling, prior to the remodel, that Tom and Ernie noticed (we hadnt noticed) and the crew fixed it at a reasonable price. It was brought to our attention during the first visit by Tom and Ernie, and therefore was included in the overall estimate. From the beginning, we set a limit on our cost, and they were very accommodating to our cost concerns. Previous to choosing Yancey, we had a separate designer come out and her estimate was significanrtly higher. We are thoroughly enjoying our new kitchen and would not hesitate to hire Yancey for any future work!
They took money up front, never finished job and then blocked all communications afterwards
We met with seveal other companies before choosing you to remodel our kitchen. We couldnt be happier and were especially surprised when the project was completed before thanksgiving.
Great job! We love our new windows!
I worked with Bob Green over at Yancey, and what a pleasure to do business with!
