Zero stars if I could. I received a quote for over $10,000 (originally $12,000+ before discounts were applied) for 241 feet of gutter protection. If that wasnt ridiculous enough, then I received a text a few days later telling me they would offer employee pricing. Today they changed their quote to $3,645 for cash transaction. What a terrible business practice and insult to my intelligence!! Run away from these unscrupulous business people.
New gutter installed! Great explanatory presentation. Only suggestion is to inform the customer that there is a good amount of time needed for such.
They cleaned, sealed and installed leaf filters. The installer was very professional and did a great job. They have a great warranty and that was the reason we went with them even though they are alittle pricy.
Your representatives were truly OUTSTANDING! Especially, the young man who installed the filters. He worked diligently all day long with only minimal breaks. What a pleasure to observe his phenomenal work ethics, attention to detail and about all how very courteous and professional he was. I would give a rating of 10+ and its well deserved!
We had the proposal, got excited to get our gutters fixed and protected (for thousands less than Byers). We have all tile roof and were told that the installer would NOT walk on the tiles, except in areas not accessible by ladder. They came out on a scattered rainy day and started walking all over the tiles!!! I asked them to stop and use the ladder. I was also told that they could not seal the gutters today due to moisture, and would have to come back to reseal, so I had to provide them with a propane torch. After telling them not to walk on the tiles, the sub-contractor said he couldnt complete the job as it would take too long! They packed up and left. Speaking with the job supervisor, he argued with me and said Well, if they have to walk on the tiles for part of the job, then whats the difference if they walk on the tiles for the entire job! I disagreed with him saying that I was told when getting the bid, that their installers are professionals and wont walk on the tiles unless absolutely necessary. I guess necessary means to make the job go quickly, regardless of whether they break tiles or not. I would have to take picture before and after to prove that they broke tiles.....Find a different company to do your gutters.I guess, now that I am looking at other reviews, I should have done more homework. Good thing they bailed on the job before I wrote the check! Phew!!
Replaced rain gutters. Professional. Respectful of property.
They put in new gutters on my patio cover. They were fast and efficient.
My buddy got scammed. They hung up on me when i called to complain about spam email.
I honestly cant even give this company a single star! I was recommended to LeafFilter by Home Advisor. The estimator Jason showed up promptly and introduced himself. He explained the gutters that they install as well as the leaf protection system. He then measured my 1800 sq ft single story home and gave me a written estimate of $9,130 for gutters and leaf filters. I was blown away. This is more than three times the price of all the other estimates Id received thus far. I expressed my concern for the incredible difference in prices. He broke the estimate down to $4200 for gutters and $4,930 for the leaf screens, and then said hed drop the price of the gutters to $2,800 if I signed a contract right now. The high pressure sales tactic did not work at all for me. I was still in the process of getting other bids and he told me Im not obligated to the other companies, and to solve my problem right now and sign the contract. The BEST part is - he was YELLING this at me while standing in my front yard and pointing at me. I remained just outside my front door as he continued yelling at me to sign the contract. I asked him why he was yelling at me, and why he was embarrassing himself by doing so from my front yard for all my neighbors to see. He continued yelling as he walked back to his truck. It was the most incredibly unprofessional experience Ive ever witnessed. This was something youd see on Instagram or a comical YouTube video. Needless to say, I will NOT be using LeafFilter, nor would I recommend them to anyone I care about. Ill be forwarding this experience onto Home Advisor in hopes they dont do any further advising on LeafFilters behalf. STAY CLEAR of this overpriced company. Hopefully they use some of their profits to enroll Jason in an Anger Management program.
I called the company and Kim Nance came out and gave us an estimate which was reasonable. My husband and I signed the agreement and before she left she had our appointment set up for the next day. The installer came out named Justin and he was very professional and well mannered. I would highly recommend leaf filter to my family and friends.Rosemary Diaz
This is a great product - dont get us wrong; however, from the Free Estimate at $6,800 for our small home - that was reduced to $4,600 in three (3) hours trying to get our business, that was ridiculous pricing!!! We could have someone clean our small gutters for less than $100 annually and still not pay that much overall. The product is excellent - what a price difference - again in 3 (three) hours..... We opted NOT to do our gutters. Be a smart shopper....
When Leaf filter sent a representative out to meet with me, the pricing changed many times. We did not agree on a price. A few days later they called and we did agree on a price at that point. An appointment was made for the installers to come out. The installer did not show up. When I called they set up another appointment for me, again it was a no show. They had the audacity to call a third time to set up another appointment. I told them not to bother, I had gone ahead and signed a contract with someone else.
Very professional and stand totally behind their product-super warranty.
The crew took pictures of the competed job. They didnt clean 100%. So of the debris was blown into my yard and on the neighbors roof and backyard. There are tiles that they had to move forward the product to be applied, and are out of place leaving a potential of rain demand, a section where they cut and paste the product that also has the same potential as list above and with the possibility of the debris being clogged. Call and text the pictures the same day as the job 7/30 to Rob my sales representative. Now waiting for Leaf Filter to respond on when this can be Resolved. Im not happy with this business. I called everything day since 7/30, today is 8/4 and still no response from Rob or the so called life time warranty dept.***Buyer Beware***
I leave this poor review for two reasons: 1) Intentionally misleading sales practices, and 2) Poor execution & communication.LeafFilter employed misleading sales tactics stating lifetime warranties at sale but then refusing to supply warranty documentation until after work is completed. Only upon final completion of the work and payment is the customer informed that the lifetime warranty is only for the actual equipment failing, and that there is only a one-year workmanship warranty, which if the system fails it is obviously more likely to be from workmanship than from hardware failure. As an ethical business practice, LeafFilter should include all warranty/guarantee information in the initial contract so that your customers are fully informed when electing to spend thousands of dollars on your services. Furthermore, educate your salesforce to be less pushy & impatient, encourage their potential customers to read through the contracts and ask questions, be transparent about timelines and available discounts. My salesperson several times said If I leave here without this signed Ill never be able to offer you this price again and even stated that I still wasnt getting all of the available discounts because I wasnt referred the best way. To potential customers, I urge you to get several quotes and not fall for their high-pressure sales tactics.Lastly, it took about 2 months and 6 different days for LeafFilter to complete the services I was told would take less than two weeks and be completed in a single visit. I was consistently taken away from my work to give crews, who showed up with no warning, access to my house just to have them leave the jobsite incomplete, also with no warning, and leaving my gates open. They even informed me, after all was said and done, that they needed to install anchors in my roof (risking the integrity of my roof) without asking my permission. The final product looks great, and I hope it works great, but I cannot in good conscious leave a positive review until these issues are addressed.
We got an estimate after talking to several other companies. It was a good price, so we signed up. They came promptly the next day. It was raining and they worked through the bad weather. They came back the next day to finish up. They cleaned everything up and did a great job. Would definitely recommend them.
Did good job of cleaning and installing leaf filter. I will have to wait and see when it rains if my problems are solved.
Made appointment for Monday. They said they would be here between 2pm and 4pm. After 4pm I call to get an ETA. They say they will call their crew and call me back with an ETA. Now its 5pm and no call back. I call again and they say their guys are in NAPA. I live in North Sacramento. They reassured me they will be here soon and will finish same day because its a crew of three.5:21pm : they text me to tell me there guys will be here tomorrow morning....Following morning.. they show up not at 7 am or 8am.. but 11am they show up and its not three guys, its one. I am now two days behind schedule on my roof because I cant lay comp without the gutters being installed first. Totally disappointed and they havent even started working.. how can you run a company this way and not go out of business? And I rarely post a negative review. If you need new gutters installed go with someone else that will honor their word.
Nice and clean very professional..
Being 82 years old and having a two story house, I had great concerns about my rain gutters becoming clogged. LeafFilter installation has given me a feeling of security. The young man who performed the work was knowledgeable and professional. Thank you LeafFilter. Carole Peek Bailey
Great experience with all staff. Turn around time for the project was only 4 days from inquiry to install! Wow
Good quality - great prices - very professional - thank you
Had Leaf Filter installed.
Prior to having the LeafFilter Gutter Protection installed I had a least three areas where my gutters were plugged and it looked like a waterfall; also had a bad leak from the end cap on one of the gutters. The LeafFilter Gutter Protection was installed on Feb. 15, 2019. During the period of Feb. 26 - 29, 3.9 inches of rain fell with 2.5 inches on the 27th alone. Normal rainfall for the whole month of February is 3.6 inches.I checked to see how the LeafFilter Gutter Protection was working and found no waterfalls and no leaking end caps. The system was working perfectly. Couldnt be happier. Highly recommend this product.
I made a call, they sent someone out the following day to do an estimate and give their sales pitch, and the day after that they had a crew in my driveway pulling down my old gutters, putting up new ones, and installing the leaf filters over the top.As promised, theyve handled everything this snowy spring had to give, though they did start leaking a bit over my porch. However, true to their promise, they had someone out the morning after I called in to realign the gutters at no cost, and everything has been perfect since!Even if they hadnt given me an opportunity to pay back some of my cost by recommending them, Id be shouting it from the rooftops.
I signed up for your gutters, and had an appt. for 2/25. No one showed up. No one called before or after. This is the first Ive heard from you. Ive found another company to do the work. Thanks for nothing.
Highly recommend
So far, they are a very unreliable company. Their brochure claims you will receive an estimate that is good for one year.Their salesman came here and was extremely argumentative and nasty with me. He gave me a price, but nothing in writing. He said I would be deleted from LeafFilters files if I did not accept his offer that day.I’ve made repeated phone calls, but have yet to receive a written “one year” estimate.
I spent the entire winter of 2018-19 with a significant part of my house gutted, because of an issue stemming from water not draining off the roof properly. The roof valley gets clogged with debris and the gutter gets clogged with leaves. I spent $1600 on roof repairs and cleaning at that time… hold that thought.I called LeafFilter for a quote, using the 15% off coupon that comes in my junk mail every month, thinking that it would be easier to keep the gutter unclogged with their guards on it. Normally I need a day or two to sleep on a big decision requiring spending that much money. The sales representative who gave me the quote said that the 15% off wouldn’t be good unless I committed to them right then and there, with no time to sleep on it. I had also stupidly not researched independent reviews of the company. But I had made up my mind to do something about the gutters clogging, and I thought the lifetime warranty would be a good reason to go ahead and do it and not worry about it.The installers who came out took three days to do what should have taken a few hours. When I looked at the work they did, it was shoddy with a lot of gaps in the filters, some of which they had MacGyvered over with wire mesh they took from my yard (it was just lying there, they didn’t go search my garage for it or anything) and some of which they just left open for future leaves to get into. Also, my house is attached to the house next door, half of a duplex. The original sales representative led me to believe that there was some kind of piece they could put vertically in the gutter to stop debris from the neighbors’ gutter from coming in. The installers just MacGyvered something with a cut-off piece of gutter guard on one of the two spots where the gutter connects to the neighbors’ gutter, and the other spot they left completely open for debris to enter freely from the side.I called to complain. I was referred to someone (I’ll call him “M”) who sent someone out to look at the house, and he agreed that it was done improperly. He said that the original installers were new and inexperienced, and that he would send someone else out to redo it. A few days later, I climbed the ladder to see what the gutters looked like now. It looked much better than it had before, except that there was still one finger-sized gap. Also, for the spot where debris could flow in freely from the side, the new installer had just hung a long piece of mesh down into the gutter, not attached to anything; this could easily come off and continue to let debris flow in from the side. But, more significantly, they cut open two of my roof tiles on the ends, I found about five or six more cracked tiles that weren’t cracked before, and the roof valleys were clogged with debris again. Much of that debris was plastic from the gutter guards. So, to summarize, I spent $1600 on roof repairs, and $2600 on LeafFilter to help prevent that from happening again, and the LeafFilter people undid much of the $1600 repairs. I called M, he said he would refer me to a manager who would call me “today.” 48 hours later, no contact yet; M said again that the manager would call me “today.” He didn’t. I’m now thinking I might have to get a lawyer involved. And I’m not one to post bad reviews, normally.
After a rocky installation, LeafFilter followed up strong and Im a happy customer!
Manage the Project Not the AFTERMATH!So the existing gutters on our home were, I believe, 3” k style gutters, I only know this because of the experience I had with this company. We were intrigued by the filter offered, especially when I heard it even blocked the roofing material. So I set an appointment. I was unable to be present. So my fiancé met with the salesman. We were interested in 5” gutters and the filter. $3600 roughly for 130 linear feet of gutter and filter. We were unaware there are multiple types of 5” gutters. I now know there are two types of 5” gutters. K style ogee which is dimensionally 5” wide up top, and Facia style which is 5” tall and in my opinion much more modern looking. I hate K style gutters. The sales appointment was on a Wednesday install set for Friday. On Thursday I got a phone call from a “project manager” who told me the installers machine broke and they won’t be able to make it until the following Wednesday. No worries. Later that evening it clicked in my head that the existing gutter on the back side of the house was hard to the corrugated roof material on the awning above my sliding glass door. So I called him and mentioned I thought maybe his salesman had missed it, I didn’t know how they were going to fit a 5” gutter with the awning in the way. He said he’d think about it and check with his installers and call me if he came up with a solution. I offered to cut the corrugated roof material back and notch the joists out of the way, because I’ve wanted to demo that awning since we bought this house. Three days later I hadn’t heard from him, my last day free to modify the awning. I get ahold of him he says that would be great, I asked him the dimensions of his gutter, he said “Five inches if you give us five and a quarter that would be perfect.” Thanks! I commence with modifications. Sent him pictures when I was done. He seemed appreciative. Get home Wednesday, had to leave work 2 hours early to meet the installers, they finished earlier then anticipated. As soon as I pull in the gutter looks, to me, identical to the old gutters but new. I was aggravated, and looked at the installer and said that’s not 5”. He defended himself, “yes it is that’s a 5” K style ogee gutter” he said. So I immediately went to go see where it sat in the 2” notches I hacked out of the joists of my awning and I could have notched 1/8 of an inch out of the last two joists, probably because the gutter is properly pitched now. The installer went on to explain to me the two types of 5” gutter and the differences. So in the end the person with the title project manager, (Matt) even after me going out of my way to make sure the job would go smooth, never thought to mention there are two types of 5” gutter, and never once looked at my contract. At least not until his installer called with an issue, now he’s using the contract to defend the work because it’s signed by someone who’s ignorant in regards to gutter lingo. You can still see all of the rafters tails of the roof framing, because the gutter is so shallow. I’m extremely disappointed, and angry. I feel deceived and because of this company I will never allow anyone to do anything to any home I own without me being directly present. Then they insult me by offering me a $100 refund. The way I see it, they want to pay me $100 for me to pay them $3500 so I can live with a lifetime warranty of regret. Two of my neighbors and my mother in law wanted their number after I told them about the filter, but now they will all hear about how much I regret seeing a leaf filter commercial on TV. By the way, they sub contract the install of both the gutter and their proprietary filter. The installer has to drive his own vehicle and use his own machine, this company is making a killing I guarantee it. I want to sell this house so I can forget this nightmare.
Find another company. Or you will regret!
This has been the worst thing we have ever put in our house. And the customer service is twice as bad. Ive been calling constantly to get a resolution or to get the produce removed. We have such terrible ice dams since installing it.
