Terrible company. Guy was late and sick. I think his name was Dan. Understaffed. Van was dirty. Took forever. They lied and kept my deposit upon return stating it was for deep cleaning due to per hair. We never had any pet in the vehicle whatsoever. Tried calling and explaining that several times to no avail. They sent me pictures showing 1 or 2 hairs and I explained that the van was dirty when we picked it up. We said that upon check out. Manager basically told us to kick rocks. Worst rental company and worst rental experience in my life. They lost a customer for life and every chance I get I will tell people to stay far away. Zero stars would be more appropriate. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for...sometimes less.

Excellent customer service and vans. I never buy the insurance but I did this time and it saved me. I called Sam and he made it easy for me to get a replacement van. The prices are great. I would definitely recommend this group to family and friends.

Do not use this rental service. This is an OFF OFF airport rental car company. 10 miles off off. Logistics are the worst. Save yourself the anguish and time by just booking yourself another rental car. If you already booked and you are calling them to pick you up at SMF, just hang up and go inside the rental car building behind you and rent something else. Best advice I can give you. They charge you $25.00 to drop your car at airport. They close at 530 pm so you have to drop your car off before to close out and if after then you have to pay $25 and you definitely have to Uber to the airport. I definitely would not rent from here again. No pets! There are better options. They should not be an option for the airport. Staff is just as clueless as their policies. They don’t even look you in the eye when they say you have to leave your car at the airport and we will charge $25.00 to go pick it up or that if you drop off the car you are responsible for the car until they check it out in the morning. They don’t have a locked facility so it’s a roll of the dice. They took about 30 minutes to come pick us up at airport and that was after I had called about 8 times to get a live person. The drivers were nice enough. Sorry, this place is not in anyway at the level of airport rental car service. At best, local use, but you are putting your trip in jeopardy if you trust that this is the best option. We did and ended up cancelling everything and going back to the airport to rent a car. Luckily it only cost us 3 hours of waiting and frustration. They charge everything up front on your credit card. Most car companies charge when you are done with the rental.

EXCELLENT if you know the secret!Vans are much better than average. Leather seats, electric seats, SIRIUS, etc. and the price is very competitive. Excellent staff.Now the secret: Hotwire lists this rental car company but the pickup instructions are inaccurate. Youre directed to call a phone number for pickup. That number then transfers you to a sacrament number that doesnt answer!Know the secret: Airport Van Rental and Airport Car Rental (Airport Rent a Car) are NOT on the airport, and they are the same company!Make your reservations directly with Airport Van Rental, and call them directly when you get to the Sacramento Airport rental car location.Now youre an insider and know the secret!

Dont waste your time. I arrived at 2:42. My 1 oclock reservation had been cancelled. I said dang my original reservation was at 1 when did you cancel it at 2!? She replied yeah. No phone call, no email, nothing. I asked why, she says we cant wait around all day waiting for reservations. I called, no one picked up, she shrugs as she fiddles around in the computer, she says shes trying to reinstate my reservation, but doesnt know if she can because theyre all booked up. She cant, but offers me a new one at more than twice the original rate. WHAT A SCAM! Never going back!

Worst service around. Absolutely no customer service. We were told they were open until 6pm on Friday. We get there and they are closed. We call and a phone service tells us that oh no, they close at 4pm. Go back tomorrow. We go back and they cancelled our reservation and would not honor anything. Loser company!!!

AVOID THIS PLACE! So we rented a van that was apparently at the airport through “ACE Rent a Car” and it ended up leading to this place, no street signs, this place has a horrible location. When we arrived the clerks were very rude( both of them) they gave us a van with a advertisement sticker attached to the rear bumper, I mean come on, we are paying for a service, not getting a complimentary van while we wait at the dealership for our oil change. Luckily we were able to exchange it, the vans are DIRTY, they have this arm pit odor, you have to inspect the vehicle yourself, so be prepared to spend at least 30-45 minutes just to get you on the road. If you can spend a little bit more, I would highly recommend all the major agencies.P.S. “ACE Rent A Car” are brokers, be prepared for the unexpected.

I had an overall positive experience with AVP Van Rental. I rented a 15 passenger van for a group outing in Sacramento. The agent I checked in with was pretty friendly and straightforward with all the charges and additional fees that could be added. I highly recommend getting insurance and prepaying for gas. Also, be sure to walk around and inspect the van for damage etc before you leave. I had no issue and received my full deposit back. The van itself was pretty new and clean. We only cared that the stereo/aux jack worked! I’d use this company again for renting vans in Sacramento 100%. The reservation agent on the phone was actually very responsive with my questions and it was a smooth process. She even gave me a AAA discount!

Would give 0 stars this van i rented was dirty when i rented it had a piece of chicken under seat back was full of melted candy and soda spills ....i brought my blanket from home it had my pets hair on it so i had to vacuum before i returned and the guy charged ME to get a mobile detailer to clean their nasty van because of pet hair also had pet hair from a kind of dog i dont have but i got chraged

My family and I took our first trip to California a month ago. We rented a van through Airport Van Rental and we were more than just pleased with the experience. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The cost was very reasonable. In fact, I was waiting for the catch with such a reasonable price. I was expecting a beat up or dirty van. Boy, was I wrong! The van was immaculate! Thanks to the friendly staff and reliable transportation, my family and I had the trip of a lifetime!

UPDATE- Now the general manager is ignoring my emails. Still havent got my money returned. The $50 no show charge was done processing 2 days ago and still not reversed so I had to dispute it with my bank. Most likely will have to dispute it with the $288 theyre still holding...DONT RENT HERE!!!! I reserved a Van on Saturday night and had to put my card information to reserve it. I show up by 8 oclock am to pick it up nobody showed up till 815 and then we had to wait for them to open the store which took till 830... The man ran my card took $288 from my account then said his computer glitched... If i still wanted to rent the Van I was going to have to run my card again for another $288... which I didnt have... I called later to tell him that I wasnt going to be able to rent and he would make sure that I was not going to be charged and what do you know? Another $50 no show fee came out Sunday evening... When I called the 1 800 number I was given email addresses which was useless until someone actually checks their email.. I wrote Marcus on Monday morning and didnt hear from him and till after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday....... Not surprised but he had other problems to deal with and said he would get back to me today...I wrote him this morning (Wednesday)and explained the urgency to get ahold of accounting because now my carpayment is late and my account is negative...still no word... Had I not had to make other arrangements I would be in a better financial situation... All they tell me is I have to wait and see what my bank does and my bank says I have to call them so the only one screwed here is me and my kids... No one has offered any good customer service or a free rental in the future...I suddenly got attitude when I called the and told then saboutthe$50 taken out... he said NOT FROM US! then looked and saw it was... same guy who promised it wouldnt happen.

Worst service. Some disclosures before anyone thinks about renting from Sacramento because you dont expect this until you face it.- When you rent a car online thinking it is from airport, it is not. It is 10 miles far from airport.- They claim they provide the shuttle service. They dont say it is only for those who landed from flight. They dont give ride to locals even from airport. You discover that after you book.- They have good fuel price but caution : they dont provide refund. So even if you use only 20 miles, they charge for the full tank which is pretty high. I didnt get any full disclosure or acknowledgement when I signed up for fuel. I was expecting to get charged for the usage.- When I was there, they had internet down. But I think this is okay considering above.

Rented a Van in November and was told 1 price I even asked what time do I need to drop off to avoid extra charges, I was told 4pm. Returned the car before 4pm on the return date ans was NOT advised by any extra charges by the guy who checked me out. Few days later I check my bank acct and was charged $75+ for the few extra hours they said I went over AFTER I was adcised to return it before 4pm. Saying I was charged an extra day. Well on my receipt my daily price was $40 cheaper then that charge. Called once I noticed it and the rep said he didnt know why that was there and it was odd so he would have the manager call me in 2 days. 5 days passed so I gave them a call and literally ARGUED with Dan who was very rude. Called back and spoke to Mike (said he was the manager) who advised he was busy on a call and would give me a call back............................ 2 months later and STILL NO CALL!!!!!! IF I knew I would have been charged extra I would of just kept the car that extra day with no worries!!! Customer service when I 1st came was good, little unprofessional things were said while customers were there by Dan but the younger gentleman that help me was great EVEN with the incorrect info provided to me. CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS AFTER A RERURN. They will NOT say ANYTHING to you when dropping off they will just charge you. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 !!!!!!!

My family and I were able to pick up a car right after ordering it online and got upgraded to a nicer one when we arrived. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, especially Joseph. Even though the location is off the airport, they provide a shuttle bus that drives you to their location and drops you at the airport after returning the car to their location. Everything was quick and we were charged with no extra fees, as we traveled within normal working hours.

Everyone always takes care of us super great and because of the Sacramento AVR team, AVR is the only Van Rental Company we use! Vehicles are always as clean as a brand new ride, the service is top notch. I reserved a 15 passenger van a week in advance. I show up on time to pick it up and the manager tells me they dont have it. He says they can give me a 2004 super dirty 9 passenger van for the same price. When i objected, he says it is what it is and they would cancel it if i dont want it. There was absolutely no customer service. Eventually they say they are not going to rent me a van and cancelled my reservation. I was in shock. The staff were super rude. My friends and i had bought concert tickets for the same night. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!

Even though I had a reservation confirmed three days before the rental, when I went to pick up the van they said they were sold out. Showing complete disregard for the meaning of customer service and business commitment. This almost ruined the plans that my family had.Luckily a competitor was able to rent us a van within an hour. If you have a need to rent a full size van in the Sacramento area I strongly suggest to look somewhere else.

Very very Bad customer experience, They are renting vehicles without even properly cleaning inside and out. I rented a minivan it had many dent and scratch and dirty. When I complained about the condition of the car can they give us another car? He responded no that is the one but there was a the minivan there. He didnt even step out to inspect the damages of vehicle along with customer, Customer had to find and record all dents and scratches for him. He found a small chip in the windshield which I think it was there before and he know about it. He went to the windshield chip right away to point out without checking anything else. He also said he doesn’t want customers like us. If you want to rent look somewhere else. If there was zero rating I would give zero.

When I told her my van rental was for my girlfriends birthday, she offered a luxury van at a discounted rate and allowed a second driver to email in their drivers license info later so they could drive it even though they werent there with me to pick it up. So dissapointed at this place. We have a van reservation a week ahead but when we got there, were told they dont have any, like how??? Atleast give us a call or something! Its so incovenient!so if youre reading this, go to Enterprise near 16th street in downtown instead! They have a cheaper rate for van rentals and way better than this guys.

This location charged me for 2.5 gallons of gas that I should not have been charged for. I topped the van off prior to dropping it off, two others were in the vehicle with me when I did so. The gage showed past FULL at the time I dropped it off. When I picked up the vehicle, while it showed full, the gage was not past the “Full” on the gage, as it was when I returned it. In addition to this, the vehicle smelled horribly like marijuana when I picked it up from the location. I think the employees should quit driving the vehicles around to smoke dope in. I will file a dispute with my credit card issuer as well as inform AMEX that they should be removed from their travel site.

They charge mileage on your rental if you go over what they give you. You show up at the airport to pick up car n there location not there, they send a shuttle that takes over an hour to take you back to Natomas location to pick up car rental. Fees.

Shady, shady, shady. Stay away. This rental agency is located 12-15 mins AWAY from the actual airport. I am not sure why the airport has ties with them.. Rented a car from here and every kind of upgrade insurance add -on was offered. After refusing them all, the guy kept pressing on and on about it. I already said no so why do you keep asking me? The car I rented looked as though it was a bought from an in-pound lot.. I was told I had to bring back a gas receipt to show that I did fill it up because I refused to pay for their over-priced gas package. The shuttle driver was nice and polite but everything else was deplorable. Do you self a favor and rent from the other car rent places...

I have no issues with customer service. We picked up our rental mini van, off site of the San Fran airport. Was weird that they hire a Lyft driver to pick you up, instead of their own shuttle service??. We returned the van last evening in Sacramento. Of course, the rental agreement says nothing about an after hours $25 fee. Additionally, the agents at San Fran never mentioned that, nor did they mention that you dont return the van to the off site lot, you return it to the economy parking lot at the Sacramento airport. Of course their after hours are apparently from 3pm on, which makes a lot sense for a rental car company. Through calling the phone numbers, and going thru a series of prompts, we learned that we leave the van unlocked, with keys under the drivers seat, until its picked up the next day. So I wonder, if it were stolen, whos liable. Called this morning, trying to ensure that the vehicle was accounted for; and was notified that they will probably have it picked up by 4pm. Of course, they charge a $200 deposit/rider fee; which theyll refund in a timely 5-7 days, which seems like a real joke. With this whole experience, I will never rent another vehicle from this company again, and will tell others to avoid it. Crazy business policies, I dont see how they can compete, apart from only the their daily rental fee being cheaper.

Worst experience ever! We rented a van from Sacramento to LA for 3 days. On the freeway, we had some trouble with the cars brakes (car was vibrating when braking) on our way back to Sacramento. We called the companys roadside assistance- at first they were asking me to drive over 30 miles to the nearest repair location which was in Bakersfield. At first, I told them Im not comfortable driving it that far. So, they said the next option is for a replacement van to be delivered to our current location and it would take at least 3 hours to arrive and the only available van is a 12 seater.. As we were looking for a shaded location at the gas station where we parked, I decided to try it one more time to see if its fine driving it to the nearest repair location to save us some time waiting, the brakes didnt feel as bad suddenly. So, I called back their road assistance and told them that I would just drive it to nearest repair location. Bad decision - they sent us to Pep Boys in Bakersfield, 6561 White Lane. Worst repair service location weve ever experienced. It took almost five hours to replace the front rooters and break pads. They should have let us know how long it would potentially take for the repairs to happen. They seemed to have no sense of urgency for us and had no remorse for making us wait as long as we did. If the rental car had been properly maintained, we wouldnt have had this problem at all. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Horrible experience. I called at 3pm for shuttle service for myself, husband and 4 young children. They said they couldnt do it because they closed at 4pm. So they sent a Lyft for just myself while my whole family waited at the airport. They gave me a van with a huge dent, one blinker wasnt working, the sliding doors sounded like they were going to fall of while opening and closing, the AC wouldnt cool unless driving, and it was not cleaned from the previous renter (found personal items from the previous people) never renting from them again.

I have waited long enough for a response from this company. I did not WANT to post a negative review. I wanted to give them a chance to make things right. However, they choose not to respond to me. I will NEVER, EVER recommend this company to anyone!!! My family of 8 flew from Indiana to attend my daughters wedding. We arrived on Wednesday to pick up our van. Daniel at AVR first gave me the keys to a van that had not been cleaned. I came back in and asked for a different vehicle. My online reservation said my total would be $417.00. It had several things added to it, so I ASSUMED this was total price. When I got my paperwork, I was surprised to see a total balance of $799.70 (after the added insurance, which was not on the quote, and $200.00 deposit, which was also not mentioned on the original quote). After I paid almost DOUBLE what I expected to pay, we left Sacramento for Redding for the night and then on to Mount Shasta, our final destination for the wedding. My husband was driving and said the van was hard to keep on the road, he assumed, because it was large and it was very windy outside. When we arrived in Redding, he checked the tires and found that the inside of the front tires were bald.... almost to the steel, because the alignment was so bad on the vehicle! I called as soon as they opened the next morning (Thursday) and spoke with Daniel again (the same person that checked me in the day before). I told him I took pictures of the tires, which he asked me to send to him via email. He told me that since I was so far away already, the only thing he could do was to have me “take it someplace and have them put 2 used tires on it. Then we’ll deduct that amount from your rental when you return the van”. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I was in California for 4 days for my daughters wedding!!! And I already paid almost DOUBLE what I was quoted and now I was expected to find a tire place, drive there, WAIT there, and PAY for tires to be reimbursed later?! I told him I couldn’t do that!! I asked him what else could be done and he assured me he would get back to me ASAP, as I had informed him we were supposed to leave for Mount Shasta that afternoon. NO RESPONSE FROM AVR!!! My family of 8 got back in the van and my husband did not drive over 50 mph on the highway because it was so hard to handle the van! Our plan was to drive up the mountain and be able to drive down as needed for any last minute wedding needs for my daughter. However, the trip up the mountain was HORRIBLE with the alignment so messed up, that we didn’t feel it would be safe to go up and down more than completely necessary! I had no phone reception at the venue on the mountain. The next time we drove the van was Sunday afternoon, when we left the venue. I AGAIN checked my phone and email and had NO RESPONSE FROM AVR!!! We drove from Mount Shasta to Sacramento (again not going over 50 mph) to return the van, after dropping the family off at the airport. On the way in, AVR sent a Lyft to pick us up. But when we dropped off the van around 5pm, AVR was closed and we had no transportation from there to the airport. I called an Uber and paid $17.25 to get to the airport. I mention this because AVR (AIRPORT Van Rental) says it is an AIRPORT VAN RENTAL, when in actuality they are about 10 miles away without transportation after 3pm on Sundays....I called AVR customer service number on Monday afternoon after coming home and spoke with Darrell, telling him about my experience. He was very kind and asked me to email the photos to him (which I did immediately) and also apologized for all of the issues. He told me that because I had the insurance on the van, I SHOULD have called THEM and they would have taken care of the tires immediately at no charge. However, Daniel had not told me that! Darrell said I would hear from someone quickly. NO RESPONSE FROM AVR! I have called 3 times today as well speaking to Kalyn, Nicole and left a message for Marcus (manager). Still NO RESPONSE FROM AVR!!!UPDATE.... STILL NO RESPONSE FROM AVR

Worst rental experience ever! I reserved a minivan 5 weeks in advance of my trip. I called to confirm a day before. On the day of my trip, after flying across the country with my husband and 3 children, we followed the instructions for pickup from Sacramento airport. I had to cal 7 times before I even got through to a person. I was then told they didnt actually have any vans available because people werent returning vehicles according to their contracts. I was basically told I was out of luck and would have to figure out something else. I managed to find a vehicle from another company, but obviously had to pay much more for a last minute reservation. The lady at the counter for the other company said this actually happens a lot to people who rent from AVR. She said if they do manage to get a van it is usually older and in terrible condition. I will never do business with this company again.

Excellent deals and friendly people! I have rented a dodge grand caravan twice from this place. It cost me the same as an economy car rental from one of the airport car rental places. They have larger vans also should you need to transport a larger group. Vehicles are new and very clean.

Upon reserving a van online, I immediately called to confirm. During that call I inquired about a AAA discount. The representative told me to bring in my AAA card at pick up and I would receive the discount. When I arrived to pick up the van I was told I could not receive the AAA discount because I reserved through a third party, and was told that I should have called their office directly instead of the customer service center. I was also told that the mileage was in fact not unlimited (even though it was advertised as unlimited). The woman at the front said she overlooked my reservation somehow, so I did not receive a confirmation call, which is when this information is discussed. This woman was very rude, unprofessional and argumentative throughout the two interactions I had with her. She seemed more focused on proving me wrong. Her manager was apologetic about the situation. But in the end the AAA discount was not honored and I left feeling caught up in a bait and switch and under valued as a customer. I rented the van for 9 days, spent hundreds, the least they could do is honor a discount that would not have impacted their business. Be careful if you rent from them, make sure that you dont rent through a third party, because they take no responsibility for the companies that sell their services. The amount of money that the discount would have saved me is not even worth the time it took to write this review. Its the principle of the situation.

The initial experience was great. Until it had appeared that on the day I thought I was to be dropping the van back off, got a call which endetailed that I was late by 2 days. Contract states for 4 days as well, which is on my part my bad for not catching it. Not to mention that there was 2 listing 1 for 4 days and one for 6 days. However the 4 days GPS number was not in my email or anywhere to be found. I do not know the legitimacy of the tank being 1/8th not full, either also getting charged for this. Granted I did get the best deal for the person waived the actual per day cost. In entirety the experience wasnt exactly the best in my opinion for all things accounted for. I wont be using their services again, for those who will use this insight tread lightly to contracted agreement and tank fulfillment. Other than all that, no problems, was a rental place just like any other. Car was great, time using it was great until the end.

Found AVR by search for best price. Beware!!! Their hours suck, they have terrible customer service. They give the very hard sell on their collision insurance (which comes out to be $10000 a year if you multiply their weekly rate X 52, maybe not employees fault, they’re pressured and overworked I guess). I booked online and called over and over and over during their very short business hours and never got an answer and never got a call back from them. finally drove out there 20 min each way in order to talk to someone. Also was told They have no shuttle, and after hours drop off (which would be 3:00 PM or later on weekends) would cost me $440. as they charge an extra day at a hugely jacked up day rate- twice the day rate I paid for the week if you’re 5 minutes late because they’re gone by 3:. They also want to charge you daily rent if there’s any damage the whole time UNTIL THE BODY SHOP IS DONE WITH REPAIR(which you have no control over). I filled the tank about 5 or 10 miles before drop off and parked the van on their lot which has a slight incline. Turns out that the gauge read full but not OVER the full line so they said it wasn’t full. (BTW when I turned the van around 180 and reparked, the gauge read above full). Avis, Enterprise and Budget are much more customer oriented. I saved maybe 8% on the week rate and cut my trip a full day short so as to not get raked over the coals.

I called airport van rental to ensure that the SUV I was planning on renting was an all wheel drive vehicle as I was driving to the Lake Tahoe area and knew that an all wheel drive would be very important. The person I talked to ensured me that all the SUVs were all wheel drive, so I made the reservation. When I showed up to pick up the vehicle I asked the guy at the counter to make sure the vehicle was all wheel drive. I was told that it wasnt and that Id have to pay an extra $100 per day to get all wheel drive. I told him that I had specifically called the company to ensure I was getting an all wheel drive and thats what I was promised for the price. He gave me a deal and only charged me an additional $30 per day. When I called the main number again later I asked them if the SUVs were all wheel drive and was again told that all the SUVs where all wheel drive. When a customer is given a quote from a representative of the company the company needs to honor that price for the features quoted.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Don’t ever leave anything in their vehicles on accident because it will be stolen and they claim they haven’t seen it. When you call and question them about it they will deny ever seeing what you accidentally left behind, will tell you there will be no reimbursement and then they will hang up the phone in your face. This place is so great. The location is NOT at the airport so it makes it easy for locals to rent without the b.s. at smf. But if u are flying into Sacramento they have a shuttle that will pick you up. The phone and in-person customer service ROCKS!! In the office DAISY is so great she deserves a raise. The vans are immaculate. The process is the easiest ive ever dealt with. Even rental extentions are super easy. No pets or smoking in the vans makes the rules easy to follow. I will be using this spot for all my van rental needs from now on.

So we rented a minivan from this location. It took several hours for the shuttle driver to pick us up due to their lack of providing us correct directions to the shuttle van pick up location and when they did the shuttle driver told us that he was not there to pick us up but he actually was. Then when we arrive at the rental location after we finally get a driver to pick us up and they gave us a car that check engine light came on and then the car began to stall only ten minutes after picking the car up. We returned the car and they rushed to give us a different car. The problem with the 2nd car is that they forgot to put license plates on the front and back of car. So we could not take car very far from our hotel because we feared that the police would pull us over and take us to jail for riding illegally. This company is a mess! Dont use them!

This place is a total racket. You have to go over the car, mark any dings, scratches, dents or any damage. If you miss any, they charge you to repair it (which they most likely dont do because our van was trashed). The inside was very dirty. Plus, the rental office is 15 minutes away from the airport, so you have to get a Lyft or an uber, load all your bags into the uber, then unload at the rental office and then load your stuff into your scratched-up van. The rental office was filthy. I would never recommend this place and will never rent from them again.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This place has the worse customer service ever. We rented a minivan from this place, itinerary confirmed for pick up at 830am today, 10/13/18. When we got there, we were told they didnt have any minivan available and that we could try looking somewhere else. I asked why didnt we get an email or a phone call informing us if that was the case. All the front desk staff could say was, Ey man, we didnt have time. We just opened at 8 and I tried finding a van. They didnt return the van like they were suppose to. First off, Im a woman douche bag. Im not going to put your name out there, but you know who you are and you should talk to your customers in a more respectful manner. You didnt have time to give me a courtesy call, but you and your peer had time to smoke outside though. Says a lot about your work ethics buddy. You tried to make it better by telling me youll cancel my reservation without a charge... um yah, wouldnt that be the case since you have NO van for me?? Its no wonder your rating is sooo low. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and work on your customer service skills.

This is by far the worst van rental place on earth. I was waiting for the shuttle bus to pick my family up and drive 20 minutes to their location. After calling several times, they answered finally and told me that I was 2 hours late picking up the van. Which is not true. And they kept $100 of my refund. They are not at the airport and very hard to get a refund.

Staff is friendly but I would never use this company again. The facility is in an industrial park 10 miles from the airport and says a short shuttle ride but they do not have a shuttle. They send an uber to get you, not a good idea for a family of 4 with bags for a week long visit. The van, filthy, inside windows have not been cleaned and it was impossible to see out of when driving towards the sun. Lots of damage on the exterior, scratches and bumper collision evidence. The oil change indicator was on the whole time and the tires were out of balance causing a vibration at freeway speeds. All in all not a good experience, I will stay with the more reputable dealers from now on.

Worst rental expierence! They forgot to pick me up at the airport, Van was dirty when I picked it up. They have horrible hours so I was charged 25.00 fee to return van because they close at 4 pm, I filled up the van passed full and they said I did not fill it and charged me 27.00 for 2 gallons of gas. When I was reading the reviews prior to travel I was a little cautious. Especially with being out of state. Once we landed we took the Blue Shuttle Bus to the Rental Car Center about 1 mile from the airport, 5 minute ride. The moment you pull into the Rental Car Center call AVR and they will send a LYFT. Dan, was the representitive we were working with, and he was good! We called them to send a ride and he said “it’ll be about 5 minutes.” I thought that was pretty quick! Five minutes later; on the dot, we had a Lexus ES pick us up. The LYFT driver was nice, helped us load. He also gave us a few ideas of places to eat. We arrived at AVR within about 13 minutes. Not too far at all. When we walked in Dan greeted us right away! We did pay for the insurance because they gave us an even better deal in person. The van we received was full of gas, and new! It wasn’t spick and span but it wasn’t filthy. We payed for unlimited miles but only drove about 375 miles. We drove to San Francisco and all around Sacramento. The van was very roomie and comfortable on the road. Ours had a back up camera! When we returned it was very quick. In and out. Mike helped us when we returned and he was very nice and professional!All in all, I was impressed, and very pleased. I would recommend this place and I would definitely return!

Booked a minivan for LAX pickup, SMF return online for $220. Got to LAX and because my flight delay had me arrive after my pickup time- my rental was revoked and refunded and I had to rent a new van on the spot for $450 (plus $200 deposit). Fine. Thats still worth 2/5 stars.Then I drive to SMF, get there a day early, park the car in the economy lot and hide the key (a process you find out by calling customer support asking how to give them their car back). Then after a week of not being in contact, they refund me half of my deposit for no reason, and customer support is clueless as to why. Definitely was not damage, and gas was prepaid, and I shouldve received more than my deposit back, but I believe they didnt pick up the car until 2 days later and just figured theyd charge me for the 2 days.This is my first negative review. Hate doing this but... I really got got here.

These guys use a bait and switch policy. I rented a Van with unlimited miles, and when I was picking up the Van I was told I was allowed only 400 per day. When I objected as I had a print out that said otherwise, I was told that if they were upfront about the mileage policy, nobody would rent from them!!After looking for an extended period of time I eventually found a local policy that stated as much. The policy contridicts everything else you purchase when making a reservation. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

A charge of an additional $25 was added on my receipt for dropping the car early in the morning, on trying to inquire about the charge the customer support rep wanted me to talk to the local representative.I called the local office and the person on the other hand was like it was my fault to drop the car early and this is the way they do business. He also said I can rent the car from others if I want in future and once they put the prices low people would anyway come back to them.I made this reservation through Priceline and this is the only time I ever heard about this rental company. Great prices, but need to work on theor logistics. This is NOT the rental company you want if you are in a hurry. The whole process takes about 2 hours. They are not on site at the Sacramento airport, and you have to take the rental car shuttle to the rental car area of the Sacramento airport, where they send a shuttle to pick you up. From the time I called to the pickup was 45 minutes. The drive was about 15-20 minutes, then 30 minute wait in line to get the van. To be fair, they were friendly and helpful, their pre-purchased gas price was a great deal, and the van was clean, and upgraded (it was a Dodge Caravan). The after-hours dropoff was a bit dodgy, and the follow up was non existant. They never told me they pciked up the van, and I had to request a reciept. Would I use them again? Yes, but only if time was not an issue.
