Im from Compton, CA and was working in Sac and was looking to get a haircut. I called a few barbershops and they told they DONT ACCEPT WALK INS. I called Newmans and they told theyll be ready for me when I get there. On a scale 1 to 10, The Barbers and service there was a 10 forsure.

Had an appointment with Tonayia Crocker at 10am for singles, she texted me at 9:00am asking me if I can come at 10:45am because the owner wasn’t answering and the shop wasn’t open. unfortunately I could not make that time. I have to take my children to there after school activities and cannot be late. She was very unprofessional and refused to give me a refund for my deposit! THEIF!! Do not book with these people. I am very upset

Best place in town!We came in from out of town. my daughters prom is tomorrow. Needed a hair cut for her and needed it now. Spoke to two other shops in downtown area(only places open on a Friday at 6 pm). They could not help us. They did not have anyone trained to do designs! They kept trying to make us an appointment (we would have had to wait 2 hours for)even though they couldnt do what we needed.Then we went to Newmans California Fadez. They took us as walk ins. They helped us right away. They had a friendly, joyful environment. Reasonably priced. And the best skills in town! It was a great experience. I recommend it highly.

This is a thriving business. They are open and have a sign out front every time I drive past. One thing I found very interesting about this place is that it has its own pool table inside.Newmans is located in a beautiful old historic building and it is great to see him doing so well.

$30 for a basic mens haircut? Did you sSMOKE your breakfast? Gouging clients. Not good.

Ive brought my boys here for the past 4 years. Definitely a neighbor hood barber shop with music, bright colors, amazing local art and the comfort of the loud talking men debating everything from history to action movies. My boys love this place and the owner Ray is amazing. Ive seen his transition from a small 3 chair shop to this double size spaces hes in. Ray gives back to the community and offers the local high school boys a opportunity to make money sweeping, a place to get off the street, and some direction.

Great haircuts at a fair price. They take their time to do good work. They do a great job with my straight hair. Im here once a week, I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Very friendly shop made me and my son fell very welcomed. Had a good time funny people there and best part is they have skills. Got mine and my sons hair cut by Jesse Thao good barber and funny person will come back for sure. If you guys need a fresh cut check them out.

My cousin told me about this place because she always take her son there, so I bring my son and he really like it, but what is kind of annoying for me is that they was listening music with the volume all the way up, you can not even talk because you cant even her what they said, I like all kinds of music but this is barbershop not a club, so if you can moderate the volume will be great. My cousin ask me about the place and I said we like it, but the music she said that when she been there they always are watching tv. May I pick the noise day. Lol

I have gotten probably about nearly 400 haircuts in my life.I decided to switch it up this time and go to the nice new hipster area of sacramento called tahoe park. Right by the other hipster area called oak park.I was told to never tell a barber you want a 2 down to a zero-jokingly- I will tell this and there is no stopping me. I have said it hundreds of times. There is nothing anyone at cali fadez can ever do to make me stop. Sorry its not happening. I will go into any place and say this straight to any barbers face. I dont care if its a hipster barbershop or not.Maybe this was said as excuse for messing up a little and taking so long.What happened to using a razor? There is a painting on the wall of a straight razor. And not true no one does it i used to go there when it was 17$ and get one all the time.I was hit by a ball.Tips. Start at 2 on top. Use zero on bottom and go up. Then fade middle. Should take 5-15 mins. No need to start at top and slowly fade down for 1 hr. Unless thats what a bald fade requires. I just wanted a low fade (2 on top 0 on bottom) Bald fade sounds stupid anyways.For the line up Create a right angle(90°) on the sides of a forehead. Then do the middle of a forehead. Then connect everything.Dont just go left to right or right to left. And then create the angles. To much room for error. And youll probably mess up. Again...

Worst shop in town. They only know how to cut black people hair. They have no strait hair cutting skills. Ive already flagged every barber in the area, to watch out for anyone whos worked here and not to hire them if they come looking for work. You ask for a damn skin fade and they will give you $25 bowl cut. Beware of these crooks. And take notice that the shop is nowhere as nice as the old pictures. Its like a brotha snatched up Newmans stuff, took it 2 doors down and openened THE BARBER SHOP without Ice Cube

Got a bald fade and even though I had barely any hair left the haircut was still fire as hell💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥. I came back for a taper a few weeks later and that was really nice as well too. Just amaizing.
