Ive been going to Jimmys for the past 5 years or so. Ever since they split the shop in two, the quality of service has gone downhill. The haircuts have gotten more expensive and also more meh. Not bad enough to go back and have it redone, but not great either.I think the last straws for me have been the last two visits. The first they rescheduled me last moment. Today, I had a cut booked during my lunch hour. 15 minutes came and went, so I asked what the eta was, to which the receptionist wasnt able to tell me and then asked if I wanted to reschedule for the next day.Some people have good experiences still, but I think Im done trying here.

My son got his haircut from this place last week. Very nice spot. Super airy and love the way they converted the garage into a barber shop. Appointment was done via web. Everything was easy and on time. People were nice. My sons cut looked good. Will come back again.

Had to drop by a barbershop to fix the catastrophe that was my pandemic hair. Walked in without an appointment and they were able to get me in the chair in just 30 mins. I met with Elise and let her know that I have no style and asked for some recommendations. The cut and style work she did was incredible and I am seriously loving the new look and so do all of my friends. Highly recommended!

Beware!! Look at the website before you book here!! I have always called for an appointment and have always had short hair. However, through the pandemic I have let my hair grow out. It’s currently just above my shoulders. I called to make an appointment and they asked the normal “long or short cut?”. I answered short because I’m going back to a short cut(zero fade). When I arrived to check in I was informed that they would not be able to cut my hair because it is considered a “long cut”….. I said that I was there to get a fade and not to keep my hair long. They responded by saying that the person that I had scheduled with did not cut long hair. In the end, they turned me away because my hair that is not even shoulder length would take 15 minutes longer to cut than if it was only to my ears. This seems like it might be a common misinterpretation of what people think is a “long cut” vs a “short cut”. I’ve never had any problems there and the service has always been great but this seemed to be handled poorly. I give four stars because the folks that cut hair are amazing but the fact that they business operator is willing to turn away money from the pockets of their employees is discouraging. Go to the website before you book an appointment!

The person who did my hair was nice but it wasnt at all what I wanted, its not a terrible haircut but I really dont like it. I gave her a picture as a reference and it looks absolutely nothing like it. Gonna be shaving my head because Im impatient and tired of wearing hats. This was also my first professional haircut since the start of the pandemic, so overall very disappointed.

I came to get my hair cut and I showed my hair stylist pictures of the cut I usually get. For some reason she gave me a different cut and didnt even bother to even out my sidebrows before she finished, leaving them crooked. She was complaining about how she had a headache and was ready to go home. I should have walked out the door right then and there, but I didnt and now I am stuck with a hairdo I never wanted and will never book with that stylist again.I usually get good service at Jimmys and appreciate the hair cuts I receive here and but this time was one of the worst experiences Ive had at a hair salon.

Quite possibly my worst haircut in my life (and that is saying something). The guy completely disregarded what I said and somehow gave me an A-line haircut that I definitely did not ask for. I am a dude with long hair and asked to be taken to the shoulders and layered. I couldnt see him machete the back of my hair off, and I was dumbfounded when he was done and asked why he cut the back shorter than the front. He said it would have been mullet-like....dont most people have longer hair than in the front. Barely layered the hair. I was speechless. For some reason, I tipped him!??!? Made me so sad and mad. Dont do it longhaired weirdos, let it grow!

Great place to get a hair cut. I scheduled my appointment with any available stylist and had a long cut done. Not only did I get the style I wanted, but my stylist made sure I was happy and satisfied.

This place is the best barber in Sacramento. The atmosphere is great and their staff are friendly and welcoming. When there isnt a pandemic, they have great beverages available to patrons free of charge. I always get compliments on my haircuts when I go to Audrey at Jimmys Garage #2. Highly recommend.

GREAT BARBERSHOP AND STAFF!! Well this was my first time coming to Jimmy’s Barber Garage and I’m SO GLAD I did!! I went to a different barbershop a hour before coming to Jimmy’s since the other Barbershop ruined my haircut. When I called Jimmy’s and told them about my horrible hair cut that needed to be fixed ASAP, they got me in within 15 minutes. Ana was not only able to fix the previous haircut she did an AMAZING job!! Staff was professional and great to work with. I will definitely be coming back!! If you want a great Fade or haircut this is the place to go and ask for Ana if she is available.

Listen to what the customer tells you. I didnt want a buzz cut and I made it clear, I thought so anyway, but he didnt care, he did what he wanted to do. I want to feel a little better after a haircut and not like I have to wear a hat for a month so it looks somewhat better. I suppose I wasnt firm enough on what I wanted so... :(Disappointing because the first two times Ive been there I left with hair and good vibes.

The shop is very kitschy and located across from kulture. Justus was my stylist and she was superb. Listen carefully to what I wanted and how I like to wear my hair before cutting. I live the cut and feel my hair looks great.

Awesome place, awesome people. The barbers are really friendly and can talk you through your haircut if you ever have any questions. They cant make appointments in advance, so make sure to go on their website the night before or the morning of to schedule an appointment. They also have a good selection of pomades and hair products to purchase. They are now my go to barber in Sacramento.

Definitely one of my favourite mid-town barbers, with friendly barbers, although their booking system is bizarre and could be more user friendly.

I love this place! There is friendly service and many fine stylist who do a great job. Drinks like water and beer is offered while you wait. My only complaint would be parking make sure you are early for good parking.

I had two different stylists the two times I’ve been. One was better than the other but both did the job well. I don’t love their reservation policy but they’re in high demand so it’s understandableIf you happen to just be upgrading to a barbershop lifestyle from the supercuts or great clips life, the trick is to give direction! They know how to cut hair you just have to tell them how you want it cut. Don’t be afraid to bring in some photos of what you’re going for.The people here are looking to satisfy and build a customer base for themselves and Jimmy’s as a whole. They definitely did well and I’ll be back whenever I’m in need in the area.

This place is really great, haircuts are always great. The barbers really know what they are doing. This place isnt at all cheap (about $30 for a cut plus tip) but you get what you pay for right? So if you have a special occasion or just what to look fresh then this place will definitely serve your needs. Been coming for over 3 years.

Went here last year after my friend who is a tattoo artist downtown recommended them. This place is an overpriced hipster super cuts. They are rushing people through and I get a feeling they only try on people they think are cool enough. The haircut I received was basic, low quality cuts with a gimmick.

Haylee gave me a trim. Very professional, friendly and quick. Wasnt a bad drive into downtown for a quality cut. Will be back.

This is the only place I come for a haircut. I’m more than willing to commute the 30 minutes because of how awesome and professional this place is. My husband and son come here now too and I will not recommend any other place for haircuts. They know what they’re doing and they serve you complimentary beer and wine ! For me, this place is great. I arrived about 15 minutes prior to my appointment for a beard trim. I was greeted by a very pleasant young lady who asked my name then asked if I wanted anything to drink. I declined but the gesture was nice. Then I met Joe. Simply put, Joe is a great guy. Really easy to talk to, made me feel comfortable and listened to what I was looking for. In the end, my beard looked great (exactly what I wanted) and I have a new place to go to. Highly recommend.

Consistently good. After about 35 haircuts here over the past 2 years Ill say you can trust anyone cutting your hair. Only 1 of those 35 hair cuts I wasnt impressed with; that one wasnt bad and all the others were great. Im not a regular with any specific person because time slots fill up fast. Each person is a bit different, but theyre all great.

Terrible attitude and service. These are wanna be hipsters that care more about their personal image than cutting hair. Please do yourself a favor and don’t get a cut with Caleb, as he rushes through his clients to try and make his next appointment on time. Not to mention he his entitled attitude and terrible experience. You should avoid this place if you want a thorough shave and not a bunch of week little wanna be hipster lowlifes rushing through cuts to maximize their turnover rates.

I’ve been coming here for 6 years and that’s not gonna change even though I moved 2.5 hours away to Nevada. I have never had a bad haircut from the well over a dozen barbers who have cut my hair at Jimmy’s. Very friendly folks and you get a free beer or glass of wine while you’re waiting. What more could you ask for.

Its been 2 years since my last haircut. I went here not expecting much but the ambience and vibe was very good. I had a nice chat with my hairstylist while I was getting my hair cut. With all my long hair gone it was nice to feel the breeze at the back of my head again.

Upon entering the garage I immediately noticed that this place had style...Perfect.Upon getting the appointment set up within 30 min, I was told I could have a glass of wine, beer or a coffee while I waited... and that it was included! Now, I know its only a couple bucks worth of liquid there, but the added value was nice.When I finally sat down in the chair, I didnt have any idea what I wanted to do with my hair in the slightest. All I knew was that I wanted different than I had ever had. Again...Perfect. Renee welcomed the challenge and went to work, adding a great conversation to go with the perfect cut.I wont be going anywhere else ever again.

Needed a haircut while in town on a business trip. Didnt know what to expect, but looked like a cool place from the web. I arrived early and had to kill some time. While waiting I was offered a beer. Yes please. The haircut was great. Atmosphere amazing. Wish I had a Jimmys closer to home.

Just went to Jimmys this morning and I loved it! I got a pixie cut done by the stylist Jen. She was really cool and super friendly. I had showed her a picture of what I wanted and I got amazing results. I had been really nervous about cutting off all my hair but in the end I had a great experience and a great haircut. Just a note. They do walk-ins but you may want to call in to see if they have any available spots because they do get pretty busy. You can also make an appointment online at their website as well.The vibe of the place is very chill. They even offer you free refreshments as well. I highly recommend this place!

I was really scared to get 3+ years of hair cut off and Ive never been to a hair stylist that Ive been totally happy with. Chavez cut my hair to basically exactly match the references I showed him. Im absolutely going back there again. Five stars and Im saving them to my phone contacts.This review is not paid for or whatever, by the way. I am just that ecstatic about my hair cut.

Id give a higher rating if theyd let you schedule an appointment that isnt same day.. I have to schedule things into my life way ahead of time because Im so busy and this same day thing is honestly lame. Change that and id give five stars. I wont cut my hair anywhere else honestly but Ive been five months without a cut cause these guys dont let you schedule ahead of time. highly disappointing.

Difficult, rude and employing inexperienced personal. They seemed confused by even simple requests and are more likely to talk over you than listen to what it is you are wanting. The receptionists are especially obnoxious. I only wish it hadnt take me 4 wildly unpleasant experiences before I understood just how low the bar is for customer satisfaction is for the staff there. I will never recommend it to anyone and I hope you steer clear.

Im so glad I found Jimmys. The barbers and stylists know their stuff and are amazing at it. I specifically see Emily every time. Shes always extremely thorough and Ive never had any problems. The reception staff is always friendly and do whatever they can to get you in for an appointment. And who doesnt love a barbershop that serves beer and wine to waiting clients?!

Walked in without an appointment, looked busy and I felt like it was going to be a wait. 5 minutes later Im in Mahriyas chair and feeling relaxed. She cleaned up my undercut nicely returning it to proper length, a through washing and even ran a straight razor on the back of the neck. Some product and done.Less than 30 minutes... We were out of time today but next time, Ill getting that straight razor shave.

Ive been going to Jimmys for a few years now and I cant overstate how amazing everyone is. From being welcomed the minute you walk in to being offered drinks while you wait, Jimmys goes above and beyond to create an experience. I have thick difficult hair to cut, and the barbers there really know their stuff. The alway give me a nice clean look, a relaxing shampoo, and my favorite: the hot towel on your face!!!I alway walk out of there feeling like a million dollars. Im so happy Jimmys is in the neighborhood!
