I’ve been coming here for about 4 years and have been delaying writing a review about this place because I didn’t want it to blow up in popularity. I can honestly say that every single barber at Barber Blues does outstanding work. Every barber here is a true professional and very personable. Great staff with an awesome owner.

This is the 3rd time that this place has cancelled on me; the day off my appointment with the excuse of the stomach flu. I am starting to notice a pattern with the barbers. They will cancel your appointment if they think they have better or friend clientele they want to get to. Booking an appointment with this place is like rolling a dice, its always seems to be a 75% decline on your day of the haircut.I had been coming to this place way before they blew up in popularity. Which has been the last 6 years. Sadly to say, with how often I get my appointments canceled, I will never be returning to this place again. I will be telling my friends and family about not coming here.

Best barber shop in Sacramento. Nobody else around takes the time and care as the barbers here do. Danyel did an awesome job with my cut today.

So I had reservations about posting this and took a few days.Had an appointment Friday and came early because my medical appointments ended earlier than thought. I asked if I could get in earlier and was told yes with a different person. When I came back for the new appointment time, Ryan made it know to myself, the other barber, and other customers that this wasnt ok.I understand his point BUT....he stated that I would have to pay for two haircuts if I canceled with him and took the earlier one or I would now just have to wait for the later one with him.This issue fell on the internal staff and shouldnt impact my customer experience...putting me on the spot making me out as if I was in the wrong was not ok and very unprofessional. After all Im a paying customer....its up to the business to fix the booking issues or concerns internally and not put that on the customer or selfishly inconvenience the customer. I get the chair deal and independent contractor situation but I dont like having to bite my tongue and not blow up in a place I enjoy going to.I wont be coming back sadly. He needs his professionalism and attitude checked.

Took both my boys there, 8 and 12 and the lady did an AMAZING job on both their hair! Yes it cost more, but their hair is cut right and looks great! I got tired of bad hair cuts and having to take them back multiple times. Totally worth the money!! I believe the lady that did both my boys hair was name Yessica.

My younger brother has been going here for over 5 years now and every single time it is an excellent experience!

Jessica was really good, she asked a lot of questions and it was nice talking to her. And she made sure I was happy 100% with my cut and I also really liked that. Will 100% come back.

Loved going here for beard shape up / trim service, but sad theyre no longer offering beard services due to COVID. Sad day.

This place is always clean and has a friendly, professional staff. I had my appointment today with Gabriel and he did an amazing job working on my haircut and beard trim. I had a vague idea about what I wanted, but couldnt really describe it in words as I was a little unsure. Gabriel ran with my limited description and gave me the cleanest look Ive had in a while. I will definitely keep coming back!

This spot is around the corner from my place so I checked it out and was happy with my cut. Tony did my fade. He took his time and paid attention to detail (I grew up with a barber in my family so I know a good cut and can tell when a barber is doing a good job). I got an appointment within 2 hours of calling and got attended almost as soon as I got there. Definitely would recommend.

Wow! Just wow! Jayson was my barber and I think I never got such a great cut. Attention to detail, super friendly and experienced. I also called boarding a plane for a same day appointment and the service on the phone was great as well.

Old school barber shop that gives great haircuts. You can have a beer as you wait, they just ask for a donation for more. The barbers are cool and place is open on Sundays which is great for people busy during the week. I highly recommend Trinda. She really takes her time and does a great job.

Chillest barbershop in town, with a modern vintage twist. Ive been going here since 2018, and every 2 - 3 weeks getting trimmed up by my guy JT. Clean and professional atmosphere. Jason Iverson is a great owner and keeps this place booked.

Great haircuts and styling by every barber here. My boys and I started coming here a few years ago while they were in high school. Great vibe and cool music everytime we go in there.

The wait was a bit long, even though I made an appointment, but the staff is friendly and they do a good job cutting your hair practically any way you want. You can have a beer while you wait. Good experience all around.

Great haircut and reasonably priced.

Made an appointment (highly recommended! Its super easy) with Anthony, or known in the shop as Shep. Excellent cut! He knew what would look good and made suggestions along the way. The neckline shave was unexpected but much appreciated. Price is what I would expect for a cut of this quality. Only issue is parking! But that really isnt a big one. There are meters and on the side street its 2 hour parking, so no need to pay. Go check them out. I plan on being a regular here.

Ive been coming here almost once a month for the last year and a half. Jason(owner) works towards perfection. The atmosphere welcomes any one. Like any true barber shop the employees try to engage in great conversation with any one that walks through the door. Jason encourages any questions as he is passionate to inform his customers of all the services he offers that would benefit you. If their is a wait dont worry about it because the shop talk, magazines, chess, pinball machine, and great blues music will make the time fly. Thirsty? Grab a drink, he usually keeps the mini fridge full with refreshments like beer or waterConveniently located in a beautiful spot in midtown its easy to get to. Street parking is available and its usually not to hard to get a spot. Simply the best barber shop i have been to in 20 years. I would travel miles just to get my hair cut here.

Took my brother for a cut with Dustin. Dustin was super professional & easy to get along with. My brothers hair came out great! My boyfriend also gets his hair cut here and Ive had no complaints about that 😂 definitely recommend this place!

Scheduled an appt online, Ive never been to a shave parlor before. Ryan was my barber and i had an INCREDIBLE experience. So relaxing i had to stop myself from falling asleep and I could not be happier with how i look. I will be recommending Ryan to family and friends! Also the house made lather was incredible

The barbers are amazing and treat you with respect, also looking out to make sure you look your best before you leave. Ive been to a few shops in Sacramento when I first moved here and I keep coming back to this place. Its even family friendly, you can book an appointment online or try to call. Trust me better then any supercuts or sport clips, dont be cheap on looking good.

Great shop. Enjoyed consistently good service, beard trims and cuts from Kevin Hancock. If there was one thing I think is a bummer is that their reservation system has changed so I cant book myself and my kids at the same time online.

Best place to get a hair cut

I scheduled a last-minute appointment with John during a weekend trip to Sacramento and was pleasantly surprised by the barbershop and Johns talent and attention to detail. Following a really bad haircut a few weeks earlier, I wasnt optimistic that it could be corrected within such a short timeframe. However, John worked his magic and hooked me up with a perfect fade--nice and tapered, just the way I like it. I highly recommend John and Barber Blues.

I have been coming to this barber shop for the past few years and I always have had a good experience. Very nice facilities and knowledgeable staff. Even though I have sinced moved away from Sacramento, if I am ever in the area I try to make an effort to visit this location because it is that good! Bring a photo of what you want to look like and they will work with you to provide a great haircut.

From out of state... very friendly and accommodating just wish they would of took more time on my shave and trimmed it better. I had to do some clean up and they never trimmed or lined up the bottom. Im just a picky dude, but other than that good peps...TEXAS

At first glance, this place looks like it might be full of stuck-up hipsters but we had a great experience when my boyfriend got a haircut and beard trim here! Jesus was the barbers name and he was very friendly and helpful. Words cannot express, how welcomed he made us feel. My boyfriend said he got the best haircut of his life and I have to agree! There arent a lot of places that cater to the needs of men with facial hair anymore and this place does that and much more. I highly recommend this place to any man who has hair. Be sure to call ahead and make an appointment because they dont do walk-ins... (dont worry, its worth it)

I made an appointment, and got in pretty quick. Cody Cut my hair, and I am super satisfied with the way it turned out. 5 Stars all the way. They do take a while to do the a actual cut, but Im ok with that, because I know that he was being careful. That being said, it is a good idea to make an appointment, even though they DO take walk ins. This is not a dime a dozen chop shop; they really know what theyre doing. As far as the shop itself, it was very clean. They had good music playing, and a pool table. For those who like it they also have beer.

I just want to say that they are my first choice when talking about haircuts here in Sacramento. All the guys are pros and down to earth, very good environment for parents and children alike. Needless to say youll walk out with a smile on and a great harcut

I wouldnt recommend it. I can tell that they definitely do a good job with their cuts but I set an appointment ahead of time and after a half hour after my set appointment they still couldnt get me started. If you want to wait around and waste your day then go but if you actually have a life and a busy schedule dont go.

Would have been helpful to know it was by appointment only before I drove the half hour to get there.

In Sacramento for the holidays visiting girlfriend and family and needed a good cut. Got a 9:30 appt with Tony and was not disappointed in the least. Greatest haircut and kind service. Highly recommend this place!

Went into the barbershop on a week day afternoon with a free barber, but didnt take a walk-in. Will not return.Update: No need. Anthonys, on 21st and Broadway, was able to accommodate within 30 minutes, and did a great job.

Friendly group of guys, great price for a good service. 25 for the hair cut 15 for your beard. Use straight razors, and offer free beers. This sort of buisness should be the model for running a barbershop, but most days its altered into a bloated superficial product thats overpriced. None of that here, straight to what matters, babering.

I went there today and everyone was very nice. Gabriel cut my hair and he was awesome, I didnt know what I wanted and he helped me to find what I was looking for and decyfering the couple pictures I gave him for reference. Totally made my day!

I love old fashion barber shops and BB looks like it could be a fantastic place. Dont believe the website. After a one way 10 block walk from my hotel, I was told they could not accept me as a walk up. So, make sure you make a reservation.

Not sure if they understand the concept of booking an appointment for a scheduled time, Got their 10 minutes early as thats just the way I am, That being said, Waited like 20 minutes past my scheduled cut time, You have to book with a credit card to ensure you arrive on time or you agree they charge you if your late or a no show, Funny though if they can not cut your hair on time at the scheduled time no apology or discount, The customer always looses.
