I cannot say enough good things about Great oaks counseling! Everyone is professional, the location is perfect and you feel calm and comfortable the moment you walk in the door. Perfect help for all ages and needs.

Ive had nothing but a positive experience with Dr. Barnes and Great Oaks Counseling. Always responsive, proactive, and positive. I also really appreciate how Dr. Barnes approaches her sessions. She doesn’t just tell you the answer or what to do, but she guided me in working through the solutions so I have the skills to practice them on my own. I would highly recommend both Dr. Barnes and GOC!

Had a hell of a time scheduling with this office. First, our initial voice messages for an introductory session wasnt answered until 2 weeks later. Okay..figured maybe they dont check their messages. Turns out the person we called no longer specializes in couples sessions. Alright no worries. We were referred to Dr. Michelle Stokes/Sanders who works at the same office. We were successful in making the first appointment. Day of comes around and we get an email 1.5 hrs before the appointment cancelling. Ugh. Annoying but understand emergencies can happen even tho we were never given a reason. Rescheduled to the next week. Both my wife and I arrive 5 minutes before our appt and nobody is there to greet us. There is a nice waiting area with a sign informing patients to sit and wait for the therapist. So we did. 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes go by. Nothing. We call the therapist and main number. Nobody picks up. We knock on doors, nobody answers. So we left. This place is super disrespectful and have no consideration for peoples time. Inexcusable. She finally emailed us back (didnt have the courage to call) saying she was with another patient and if we wanted to reschedule. No. We. Dont.

The reviews are true. I was scheduled here through my weight loss doctor and canceled the appointment through them. Guess Dr. Barnes didn’t get the memo and she called my phone with an attitude, because I “missed” the appointment. Which btw isn’t a good idea with someone who has anger problems...she kept going on and on so I let her talk to the dial tone. I’m happy they don’t serve veterans we deserve better treatment than this.

Dr. Barnes is fantastic! She is kind, patient, and non-judgemental. Rather than telling me what to do, she asked questions to lead me in a positive direction. I am so thankful for all her help!
