They are the best! The instructors are very nice and helpful. Everyone is welcoming and make you feel very comfortable. They have good prices and a great selection of classes and times. I recommend this place to everyone.
Fun way to workout! Very positive and supportive people. Jennifer makes it look easy, while adding her physical humor so we beginners relax about looking awkward.b
Very body positive place. Different mix of instructor personalities, which is good. Youll find someone you vibe with. I love Jen, shes got the dominatrix/strict dancer teacher thing going and simultaneously very silly.
Had my first Pole Foundation class and when I tell you it was AMAZING I mean it! I felt super confident and happy in my skin and felt like I was learning some really fun moves for beginners! I highly recommend this studio
I love this place so much!! Not only do you get a great work out, but the atmosphere, stage and family you gain is amazing!!
Ive had nothing but wonderful experiences and conditioning. The instructors and students are supportive and encouraging. Ive been coming to the studio for almost a year and even during quarantine they reached out and made sure we were all ok. Starting online classes to keep us strong and reminding us they are flexible about pausing membership as needed until they reopened was a relief. 10 out of 10 recommend starting your pole adventure here.
Vertical Fitness is my favorite place on the planet. All of the instructors are so helpful and encouraging. I started classes there with the Groupon deal, and over a year later I still havent stopped! Pole dance is addicting since you gain strength so quickly and can nail new moves every week! Aside from gaining strength, Ive also gained self confidence, self love, and so many friends
This studio is amazing. Owners are very welcoming of all skill and fitness levels, and their number one priority is to keep you safe. That’s why they always provide crash mats and teach you how to execute a move properly. Oh and did I mention this place is sparkling clean? All equipment, poles, and floor are consistently sanitized. And it’s not just pole! There’s Lyra, silks, a hanging pod, a splits trainer... VFS is always festively decorated too. They have a HUGE variety of classes from exotics to voluptuous vixens to beginner classes to Tiny tots to flexibility training... I can’t write enough about how much I love this place.
This place is fantastic!! 10/10It is a great studio with a very welcoming vibe and the instructors are super nice and helpful. Great variety of classes and affordable prices.
Vertical Fitness Studio is such a fun and empowering environment for all ages, body types, genders, etc! There are a wide variety of classes and all the teachers are super great and helpful! LOVE this studio!
Vertical Fitness has been my home away from home for about a year and a half. Ive gained strength, confidence, grace, and most of all, Ive gained a tribe of badass women. If youve ever considered trying pole fitness or other aerial arts, you MUST come to VFS.
I love this place! Everyone is so welcoming and accepting, and all of the instructors are so helpful. I feel so proud of myself for being able to achieve moves now that I couldnt when I first started coming, and Im way more confident in my everyday life. Just a really great, body-positive place.
This is the most welcoming, inclusive, special group of people Ive ever met and pole is the hardest and most rewarding activity Ive ever done. From day one when I was unsure and nervous everyone made me feel like I was part of the group, they helped me when I faultered and cheered me on, celebrating when I finally landed the move. Not only will you gain physical strength and develop friendships, but the emotional and mental strength developed will carry throughout your day and your life! Come be a badass at VFS.
When you start taking classes at Vertical Fitness Studio (VFS), you don’t join a studio. You join a family.I’ve been taking classes at VFS on and off for almost exactly two years now. The only reason that I haven’t been taking classes continuously is that I am a full-time college student and I live on campus in the Bay Area. I look forward to returning to VFS more than just about anything else in Sacramento. I am always welcomed back with great enthusiasm. The classes have always been fantastic. I can only really vouch for Jennifer, Tiffany, and Kelly since they’re the only instructors that I have taken multiple classes from, but every teacher I’ve learned from so far has been excellent. They all have their own unique styles and I have enjoyed the variety of instruction that they provide. They are liberal with both suggestions and praise and I always leave class feeling like I’ve made some sort of progress. Like true family, they know when to push the limits of what I think I can do and support me every single step of the way.The students are also fantastically supportive. We cheer on each other’s successes and are quick to support each other through struggles with tips and encouragement. I’ve never been in such a positive learning environment before in my life and it truly is a breath of fresh air. There is so much admiration and wonder for the sport we share.I will not lie and say that pole dancing is easy. Muscle soreness and bruising are to be expected. That being said, there have been very few injuries in my time at the studio. All of the instructors are happy to accommodate injuries where needed so that you can enjoy yourself without exasperating the problem. Instructors are also happy to come walk you through the move and physically support you if necessary. I have only gotten hurt once in my time pole dancing and that was entirely my fault. I had been using one of the provided crash mats though so I walked away with only a pulled muscle in my shoulder. I was provided immediately with first aid and two instructors followed up with me after the fact to make sure that I was okay. I was back to class within a week and even then they were mindful of the injury. That’s what it means to take care of your students.Beyond everything I’ve already mentioned, I have a very special relationship with the studio. I identify as nonbinary and use they/them pronouns. Initially I had some concerns about taking up pole dancing because it’s generally considered a feminine sport and often times pole dancing requires a lot of bare skin. I was worried about being mistaken for a woman and being misgendered. My worries were largely unfounded. All of the instructors and students that I regularly work with use my correct name and pronouns. I have always felt welcome and comfortable at the studio. I’ve become so much more comfortable in my own skin because I’ve been given the time and space to fall in love with my body for what it can do and what it can become.About two weeks ago, I told Tiffany, an instructor and one of the co-owners of the studio, that I was planning on trying to legally change my name to conform to my gender identity. Not only did they tell me that they had my back, but they were also the first to celebrate (quite enthusiastically!) when I found out that I had my parents’ complete support in the decision. They threw me a party the next day to celebrate the milestone and I was more than beside myself with happiness. I hadn’t imagined such a positive reception to my transition and I felt so loved to know that Tiffany, Kelly, and the rest of my found family at VFS wanted to share this special part of my life with me.If you are at all thinking about trying pole dancing, I urge you to try it at VFS. I could not ask for a more supportive community or a more encouraging experience. I have grown so much in my time here, surrounded by people I count as both friends and family, and I wish that everyone could have just as fantastic of an experience as I have.
If you’re a beginner I highly recommend taking class with Jen I always leave learning something new and sexy. She’s extremely hands on and breaks down the moves. Tiffany has a fun class but doesn’t actually teach. So It can be frustrating for newbies.
Birthday present drop-in from my bestie and omg it was soooooo fun! Jen is so nice and helpful. And all of the girls are so sweet and funny too. Everyone gives little extra tips to help and the music makes it extra fun. Be prepared to share a pole and potentially leave with some bruises if youre a newbie and actually trying. Pole sits are killer. Feel free to bring heels!
I absolutely love going to vertical fitness...at first I was sceptical about going but Im glad I went. The owners and the other members are amazing, they make you feel welcome and comfortable. Everyone cheers for your success...I really feel like its my pole family.....I cancelled my gym membership and go to vertical fitness
I loved it in 2015 but I think the instructor/owner passed away....but it is one of my favorite pole dance studios and the instructor let me wear a pair of studio shoes for class.
VFS literally changed my life! Im stronger, more flexible, and WAY more in shape than I have been in a long time. Tiffany and Kelly are both awesome people and all the teachers are very supportive and helpful. Amazing work out for your entire body and a complete blast!!! Warning pole and hoop are highly addictive. It is not easy but definately worth it!
I absolutley love verticall fitness. Its such a fun way to get exercise. The teacher is amazing and has an awesome energy. As for the music,(also my favorite part) if your ears arent sensitive to a colorful vocabulary, then you will enjoy the class.
I went to Vertical Fitness for their 2 hour open pole class, which I was excited for because I wanted to practice my new tricks & such! When I showed up 5 minutes before my class, they hung a velvet rope in front of the entryway so that I “wouldn’t walk in to the current class” which I wasn’t planning on doing anyway (I know pole class etiquette). And then when my class began, barely anyone spoke to me AT ALL; I learned zero names... and I left an hour early because they were just gossiping while drinking wine. It felt very clique-y and it was not a welcoming warm environment. Which made it really hard to practice any of my dance moves or pole tricks because it felt like they were all silently judging me.. also I drove a whole 50 minutes to go there and it was not worth my gas or money. I would have asked for my money back but no one acknowledged my presence so it probably would’ve just been them ganging up on me telling me I couldn’t get a refund! It’s not worth it!
I enjoyed the ladies teaching the class however, One of the owners was very unprofessional when calling her. I felt like I was calling up a friend instead of an actual pole studio for a second I thought I called the wrong number . Her tone and lack of professionalism made it feel awkward just to schedule my a class. Just prepare to hear a tired-sounding girl over the phone and not someone who sounds like they enjoy what they do. I wish I could give the class its rating but this rating is based off of Tiffany or Kellys professionalism aka the tired-sounding girl owner.
Great place. Love it here. Very welcoming
If I could give NO STARS I would ! Went here with my friends for my bday, one of my friends decided to pay for me to come for the entire month as a birthday gift . Skip forward into the second day of my lessons I was stopped at the door & told there wasn’t a payment on my file but yet the instructors said “ she remembers my friend paid for my month . however, it ended up being a error on their end . They placed my payment on someone else’s file . With that being said they wanted me to repay for my lessons, which was dumb since it was already paid for . I refused to pay so they refused to let me join the class . UNACCEPTABLE ! They embarrassed me ! Trying to make it seem like I was trying to get over on them . Plus you pay 30 dollars for 30 days for 1 hour lessons but realistically you don’t even get your full hour considering the fact you share a pole with another girl within that hour
Ive been a student at Vertical Fitness for nearly a year. I decided to give it a shot on a Groupon and was hooked from my first class! The instructors and other students Ive chatted with are very supportive and inclusive to all different body types, backgrounds, and goals. My personal story: I am 32 with a 4 year old son and have yo-yoed with my weight since I was 10 and currently weigh 165lbs. As someone who had struggled with body image, I was a little insecure about going to the studio because Id expected it to be all women who had their ideal body. Im so very happy I joined! There are plenty who go who have excellent figures but there are also many who are working on loosing weight or gaining muscle - and EVERYONE is working on improving themselves regardless of the stage they are at. Because everyone is striving for self-improvement, they are very involved and excited when a student reaches one of their goals too.My goals were to try and be more graceful (Im a bit clumsy, haha), to increase strength, and lose weight. Id been weight training at the gym for a bit prior but found it tedious. Within two weeks of attending classes steadily I had a noticeable improvement in my upper body strength - things I couldnt do the first time Id tried that were surprisingly improved in a relatively short time frame *and* my confidence, body image, and even grace were improving. Now, I notice both strength improvement and increased flexibility throughout my body. I havent lost much in regard to weight but thats because Ive been gaining muscle. Ive dropped dress sizes and my clothes fit better than they did when I was 15 pounds lighter. Im also never bored! Instead of lifting free weights at the gym, Im lifting my own body weight and doing so with a new finesse. All the instructors have something unique to their style that makes them engaging and even after youve progressed at a move, they have no trouble finding something that will challenge you!Price-wise, I think theyre a bargain for all that Ive gained but if you arent sure, there are often Groupons and they have a great 30 days for $30 deal to let you try out the studio and see if youre as happy with it as I am.Bottom line: Im having a great time with a great bunch of welcoming people. Im finding strength, beauty, and grace within myself, staying motivated, and having fun. There are never enough stars :)
