The owner lacks any empathy or etiquette. I have a 5 year old daughter with special needs that I brought in for polish on her toes and nails. The girl who painted them both was very sweet and did a great job. After about 15 minutes I asked if her nails were dry, to which the owner replied they will never dry and threw his arm up in the air as to dismiss me and my question. My daughter heard the conversation and immediately went into panic. I approached the owner to explain that my daughter has special needs and to which he replied you are her mother just tell her they are dry or I will tell her and yelled out they are dry. I was shocked by this unexpected outburst and left speechless. I had my older daughter take my younger daughter out to the car where I tried to explain to him the situation. Trying to make this a learning tool rather then a horrible experience. He rolled his eyes repeated the phrase “Jesus Christ” several times and told me how it wasn’t a big deal. At that point I left in tears. Disgusting vile human being !

I absolutely adore this place. In March a friend completely demolished my hair and it was a neon orange and it was breaking off in chunks. I was having a midlife crisis and was a total crying/depressed mess (a little over exaggerated i know). I called and they took me in ASAP- They legit saved my hair and my hair had never been this healthy (even when I went to other salons). I was left with a beautiful royal purple and I got compliments everywhere I went.I went back in August to change it for school and went a ginger. After the first week the color came out and didnt hold but I called up and the offered to fix it for me. I love the environment here and I adore Lindsey. Im excited to go back there next month and get a touch up 😊

Love this place! It had been over a year since I had a haircut and Mia did an incredible job. I now love my hair and feel much more confident!

I live in the city and drive out or take the train just to go here. I am not totally picky on who does my haircut because its pretty basic. So, I have gone to everyone and loved the atmosphere and vibe every time. Products used are top notch. For color I see Rachel!

I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, they lie and are rip offs. you’re better off finding ANY other place. they made me spend $200 on literally nothing!

I had came in to get a balayage done. i had gotten lindsay, she was really sweet at first. i have long thick black hair and had asked for more of a brown. they had charged me $250 because of how much hair i have which is typical but they do not tell u in case in advance. however, my hair turned blonde, wasnt toned right and was not blended. we had called back and asked for them to fix their mistake and they told us to come back and they would not charge us. i come back and leave and it seemed like she didnt really care and they made us pay $32... front desk lady was not nice at all and employees just stare at you. i mean if you dont do it right then why charge me extra when you are the one that makes the mistake and you still dont do it right... ridiculous.

Just a basic highlight. Looks like an inexperienced person did it. Horrible.

Love Rockstar!!!! You wont leave disappointed. The staff is upbeat, stylish and approachable. You can tell everyone is on top of the latest techniques and know-how in beauty.I leave feeling like I got personal attention for me and my style - not leaving with the same hair cut and color as everyone else.

The actual place is kind of cute. I like the way its decorated. The employees think they know better than you about your own hair. Gave them 3 chances with me (hundreds of dollars) and I still have to pay hundreds more to fix my hair. 3 times, 3 times and still dont have the color or cut I asked for. Im not asking to look like a model, but when you bring in pictures of the color you want (I was blonde when I 1st went there and asked for a specific darker color -so nothing like going from black to pink), and still dont have the color I want. When I have tried to contact the boss I get blown off and ignored. Maybe if the boss would have stepped up I wouldnt be looking at having to give my hair a complete (destroying) chemical bath now. I think most of the good reviews here are fake. Last time I left a woman was walking out crying. Dont go!! I have to warn you and everyone I can!!

I found Michael and was so happy. I have a LOT of long curly hair, that I LOVE to wear big...and curly. Michael left to pursue his dreams and I went into panic mode. It was suggested to me, I should try Ann. SHE WAS AMAZING. She listened to what I wanted and she did it. I totally recommend Rockstar. If you have Curly hair.....Ann is an expert! LOVE!

Awesome haircut and they wash your hair and massage your head

BEWARE!!! They lie about their service to overcharge for cheap product. They advertise it as Brazilian Blowout, but they do keratin treatment instead. And even this keratin treatment is a scam. I have spent 300$ for something that did not do anything to my hair. Absolutely nothing, the hair is exactly the same, not even a bit smoother. When I tried to talk and resolve this issue with the owner of the salon (she is the one who promised me that I will have the result the same a Brazilian, when I cut them that they are faulty advertise their service) she was rude and did not even want to touch my hair, of course she knew that her cheap product will not do anything to my hair.

I had just moved to Chicago and was looking for a hairstylist. I am a musician and artist and front many bands and my hair means everything to me. I chose this salon not just because of the name but because of the reviews and the fact they do precision cuts. I called and told the receptionist I am looking for someone that is good and is good with modern emo type cuts. She put me with Michelle.The décor was nice and they got me in pretty fast. Michelle was nice. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. It was a picture that showed a cut that had the bangs on one side past the eye and on the otherside about mid cheek. I have had this cut before and it looks great on me. My hair was very long as my bangs were past my chin and I have a lot of hair. I have always spent a lot of money getting my hair done right as it is important to me. Most appointments for me have lasted up to an hour.Michelle started to cut and it only took her fifteen minutes. I did not feel I was getting precision and started to get worried. It felt rushed and when she chopped my bangs I about died. I walked out to the car and started to cry. I feel horrible and look horrible. I look like Spock from Star Trek. Not even close to the picture. I went back in and told her I wasnt happy. She said it was fine and I was just shocked because it was drastic. She tried to flat iron it to make it longer. It made it look a little better but the thing is my hair is gone for now. I cant do anything with it and since I have had longish hair for the last 26 years I am in shock. I have given it two days and every morning I wake up I just cry. I just pray it grows out fast, and I can always wear hats in the meantime so my friends stop making fun of me. Michelle should have asked me like every other hairstylist where I wanted my bangs and took the time, especially since I was a new client!!! I thought showing a picture would be good enough. Anyways, my advice to Michelle is to slow down and not go so fast. I am beyond unhappy and will probably not go back here. I felt like I went to Supercuts with nice décor. :(
