I came to this location with my teenage son for a haircut. Barber Daniel refused to cut my son’s hair because my son and I were having a discussion over how many inches of hair he wants to cut. More specifically, we were discussing and also asking for an advice from the barber Daniel, but instead of helping he told my son to get down of the seat, and leave the salon because he is not going to cut his hair since we are giving him an anxiety! The CLIENT IS GIVING HIM ANXIETY??? Have you heard of professionalism?? Have you heard of customer service??? When we called a manager, even a manager couldn’t take any action. He just claimed that he cannot do anything if he has anxiety…. This is ridiculous!!!!!! Never ask Barber Daniel for service here you never know what excuse he will give for treating clients this way… The worse experience ever!!!!

Lady was in such a rush. Pulling hairs with the clippers and moving so aggressively it feels like my head is rug burned. All I needed was a fade on the sides and back cleaned up for the weekend so its not like it would have taken long to begin with. I get I was a walk in but if you didnt have time to fit me then tell me when I ask. Hundred percent with I didnt stop in.

Barbershops! I have patronized barbershops of in different communities. But there is one employee who makes this Floyds Barbershop great. Rita took care of me and my wild to style hair. She knew exactly what I was asking for in a haircut, and made my day great.

I’ve been going to Floyd’s in Rockville since they 1st opened up. Before going to Floyd’s I was never happy with my haircuts no matter where I went. But when I went to Floyd’s for the 1st time I had the best haircut experience I had ever had and that’s when I decided right then and there that from now on I will be going to Floyd’s for my haircuts. I usually get my hair cut by Alexus or Kathy and they always do amazing jobs! What’s great is their prices are not absurd like a lot of the other fancy barbers and hair salons but you get the same quality cuts as if you’d gone to a place with they charge you a lot more then why Floyd’s does. That’s why I am a loyal customer to Floyd’s! You guys are the best!

Definitely try out Floyds. I wanted to lighten my hair to platinum blonde and also trim a few inches off my ends. My friend Kathy, a stylist here, recommended I book an appointment with Stephen, the shop manager, so I did. When I first walked in the shop, I was greeted by the friendly staff at the front desk. The shop had a cool vibe and sleek decor with all the wall art and awesome playlist. What would normally take me a 6+hr session at other salons, Stephen finished in just about under 4hrs and the results were exactly what I wanted. Hes such a knowledgable person and manages the shop extremely well and professional.

Roshell is fast and does an amazing job

Ive been twice as I was back in the MD area for a family emergency and I took a chance on Roshell C. my first visit. She was outstanding- professional, compassionate, and made my hair not only look great but stay looking sharp as it grew back between cuts. Shes also cut my hair for two very important occassions, and Ive been thrilled with the results each time. I took a chance based on Google/Yelp reviews and previous good experiences with Floyds back home and have zero regrets. Ive been going to this Floyds for over a year now and the first time I went I had Kathy cut my hair. She did such an awesome job I havent let anyone else cut it since. If she ever stops being a hair stylist Ill probably never get a haircut again because shes the best. Book her next time you need a cut, you wont be disappointed!

I had a appointment at 11am. They called me at 9:00am to confirm. I get the the location in Rockville. The receptionist told me that a hairdresser called out and they couldnt do my hair til maybe 3pm. He told me that they called to let me know. No one called me. The place is pretty much like the Hair Cuttery.

I’ve gone to several people to get a haircut and each person did an amazing job. It doesn’t matter who you go, you’ll get a consistent and get haircut. This past time I saw Stephen who was very detail oriented, friendly. The price is reasonable, located in a convenient place and they always take walk-ins but I recommend calling ahead. You can even check who is working on a given day.

I got my hair cut here a few weeks ago by David S. and he did a really good job. He was very meticulous and took his time and even went over the allotted appointment time. I was very happy with the results. The folks at the counter were very friendly when I came in and the shop was kept very clean. Ive been to several Floyds locations and have always been happy with my experiences.

Pretty good! Great atmosphere and friendly stylists. 4 stars because it can be slightly hit or miss depending on who you get, but not bad by any means. Better to schedule appointments, but they do take walk-ins.

David is awesome - 5 stars for him alone. I have been a customer of his for three years now.For the owner: please put the sunshades back up on the garage doors. This time of year, customers with appointments from 3-5pm are blinded by sunlight as the sun beams directly into the storefront as it sets. Luckily, David being as accommodating as he is, he moved me to another chair for my appointment out of the sunlight. I would love to bring my rating back up to 5!

I usually get my haircuts at salons, however I miss the barbershop feel but I was hesitant to try new places. But here at Floyd’s, it’s like a mixture of the barbershop feel and atmosphere but with that great salon service and treatment.Kathy C. Is amazing. Her fades are great, she works fast, has a great personality and sometimes a conversation with her is just what you need to get through a tough day. She is very particular, asks you first, explains what she will do, and then asks again to make sure you know what type of cut you’re getting. I was in this location. Its pretty pricey but i gave it to try, maybe this is worth it. Unfortunately its no difference than regular haircuttery.Haircutter stylists are same as regular haircuttery.(at least those who cut my hair).Last time one stylist showed me attitude, however i tried not to argue and showed her my old picture that i want to get back hair style on. I think some people doesnt know customer service.Also today 3 hair stylists were seating on the phones and doing nothing, and i had appointment and came 10 minutes late, so when i came in, reception didnt want to take me and told me to come later today since i came late. I understand my fault but barbershop was empty with no clients. So he didnt even suggest me something in timely. I dont need really difficult hair style, just regular one.I guess im gonna keep looking for local nice barbershop with professional people, where im gonna feel comfortable, whos gonna appreciate customers and not showing attitude.Would not suggest that for this price.

Fantastic place for a great cut without frills. Looking around for a new place, I came upon Floyds and tried it out, and I am happy I did. This place has a great vibe and really gets down to what you are there for: a good cut. Ive worked with both Max and Stephen and both gave me exactly what I wanted with trained hands. Looks like a good place, does straight razor which is the what I have been looking for but the front desk cant seem to figure out how scheduling works. I called in an appointment for 5 pm, the young lady on the phone was pleasant and confirmed the appointment twice on the call for 5 pm. I arrive 10 minutes early, the young man told me they have me scheduled at 6 and there is nothing they can do. So you lost money and a customer due to poor communication and scheduling. Its a shame too because its basically in my backyard and I get a hair cut at least twice a month, this would have been great for me and the business.

I get my haircuts here from time to time and I enjoy the aesthetic they have. Their house hair products are have a great scent and leave your scalp tingly from the peppermint. They accept Walk-ins which is what I usually do but set up appointments when I have a busy schedule.

Roshell is awesome! Super positive and a great colorist. Lily is also really friendly and talented, Id recommend either of them. A little pricey but the customer service and the atmosphere are worth it.

Came in to chop off the vast majority of my hair. Although excited for a super short cut, I was a bit nervous as well. My stylist Lily was absolutely awesome. She worked with me to get my hairstyle to exactly what I wanted, was friendly, and altogether seemed like a cool person. Floyds is now my new go-to, would recommend!

Terrified to get a haircut, was an understatement to how I felt. Alisa managed to give me the best haircut and styling I have ever had. She took her time to figure out how my hair fell and parted to give me the best final product. I will be a return customer now thanks to her and her professionalism.

Had an awesome experience. Thanh was very friendly and attentive. Listened to how I wanted my hair cut and did it just like I requested it. I like how the front section (a large garage door) opened up and made the place feel very airy. The hot towel and shoulder/neck-rub was a nice touch. I highly recommend this place and I look forward to making this my regular barbershop.

I will never go back! I was lied to. When I made my appointment. I asked if any of the barbers. Can do a flattop. I also, asked if I could have a straight razor shave. On the back and sides of my head. With my flattop. Finally. I asked if they could trim/square off my big beard off. I was told yes, to all 3 questions. Well when the barber was done. I didnt have what looked like a flattop! I didnt have the back and sides of my head straight razor shaved. And my beard was trimmed rounded. Not squared! I asked the barber what happened. He said he can kinda do flattops? They never do straight razor shaves. On the back and sides of your head! They wont let me give them a half a star on here?

My most recent experience with Floyd’s 99 was exemplary by Assistant Manager Stephen P. Typically, I am a walk in customer who will have my his cut by anyone (All who have been good) but I will be back specifically for this gentleman. He is as talented as he is personable. 5 Star service with a smile is hard to come by, and I hope that after reading this review you all will understand as I do.

This place is quite cozy for a barber shop. The waiting area is great with all the reading materials and a nice TV. Also well-ventilated. The longest that I ever had to wait was about 5 minutes, which wasn’t bad at all.

I love this barbershop. Theres a lot of variety in the style of the staff, and they each have their own flair - but if you know exactly what you want they know just how to provide it. Those working the counter are always incredibly courteous and helpful, and go out of their way to get you in as quickly as possible.

I dont know why they even have a one star! I had my hair done by one skinny black girl and it was terrible. This people dont know how to fade the line between top and side. I could do it better myself..For that price I was expecting much better service. Definitely not going back

They did a good job. It was my first time there. I get a very short haircut and theres not much to it, so I cant say anything about people with long hair of the quality of services offered. The chairs are very comfortable and its a very laid back atmosphere. People working there were friendly.

I used to be very careful with my barbers and have been going to the same person almost 10 years in NYC. Lately, Ive been doing clipper cuts and figured how can you mess that up, right? Well, apparently you can! I am visiting my parents in MD and decided to go to this place. My experience here was HORRIBLE! I paid almost $30 for a clipper cut including tip and just came home to spend more time fixing it up myself. The front was uneven, sideburns uneven and not blended with the rest of the cut, the neck is just terrible....uneven, cut into the hairline and worse of all, a huge razor burn line form the clippers. Ive never had this before, assuming a dull clipper or maybe the stylist pushed to hard...I had to put cream on my neck and hoping it goes away soon. Also, for the price I paid, their website says I should have gotten a hot lather neck shave....that definitely did not happen.To make it even worse, when I came up to pay, the cashier tells me that I was given a shampoo for free (I never asked to have a shampoo). So youre telling me I could have potentially paid $29 (before tip) for a messed up clipper cut? This was obviously to try to get a bigger tip. The stylist was standing right next to the cashier while I was paying and only walked away after I paid and left the tip. What a shady place....Update: Second day and the clipper cut/burn is still on the back on my neck (across the whole neck where the hairline was trimmed). Ive never in my life had such a bad experience with a haircut. They should not have people that cut hair like this working at a barbershop

This is the most hospitable barbershop.Every one is nice, and the service is perfect.

First off this place is no barbershop! Its akin to a sports clips or hair cuttery shop.Anyway, I was in the area for work and had some extra time so I stopped in, to what I thought was going to be a barber, for a cut and fade. The only redeeming factor here is that the staff is friendly. The person that cut my hair was, again, friendly but I had to remind them multiple times about the length on top and that the side and back needed to be faded. The buzz on top is fine but the fade is lacking. The person was messy with the cut as they had hair flying all over and just tried to use a towel to brush it off. Then knowing that I was headed to a meeting after they didnt even offer me product for my hair. And this might just be a pet peeve of mine but the person who cut my hair only had plastic clippers. Oh and no straight razor!If your looking for a sports clips were they cut like theyre fresh out of school but is themed around music then this is your place. If you prefer a real shop then I suggest you look elsewhere.

I would suggest the barbers more than the stylists. There does seem to be some regular turn over of the staff but a solid pick for a great haircut at a reasonable price. Very LGBTQ friendly, if you have a female body but you prefer to rock a male haircut this is a very comfortable place to go

A cool and hip barbershop. Nice atmosphere and cool people. Wouldve gave 5 stars but I was booked for an appointment for a head/face shave and none of the barbers there at the time could do it. Seemed like they made a mistake and the barber that does shaves was coming in about 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Had to wait 40 minutes to be seated, but got a 25% discount for waiting. Would come back again but next time I reserve I will ask them to double check when they have a the ebarber scheduled to come in.

Friendly staff and the place is nice. However I still had to wait about 15-20mins even after making an appointment. My haircut was pretty disappointing and I got a cut on the back of my neck. But Im going back becuase theres a guy that works there who did a fantastic job with cutting guys hair (I got mine cut my someone else). Jesika was very detail-oriented, careful, and methodical in her styling, and made me feel very comfortable with a cheerful mood and kind words. I had walk-in appointment after seeing the shop, and long-overdue for a haircut, and I am very happy that I was chose to stop by.My hair is now several inches shorter, out of my face, but at the perfect length where it can still be tied up, back out of the way without any way-ward strands flying around. Rolled up tonight for the first time, had an appointment with Gary who I requested based on some other reviews. Dude took a look at the photos I brought, explained what we might need to do differently because of my hair type, and within what felt like five minutes I was done and it was perfect. I havent had a good haircut in ten years, and Ive tried other barbershops, high end salons, and cheap places all around this area and never been happy. I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

Just got cornrows and a fade done by Roshell and I couldn’t be more pleased. She’s a really nice women we had a great conversation and she’s great at her job. I’ll be back for sure.

Roshell C. cut my hair and did an excellent job. Her conversations was pleasant and appreciated. She was fast and very efficient. Haven’t had my haircut by a woman in a longtime, so Roshell’s touch was softer than male barbers. She’s a lot easier on the eyes as well. Overall my experience at the shop was a really good one. I will definitely go back again and I recommend you to try Roshell if you go.

This is a dual review for Roshell and Kathy.Kathy - I usually go to Kathy. She is always bubbly and in a good mood. I tend to visit her every 2-2.5 weeks and she always does a great job on my hair. I dont even really need to tell her what type of haircut Id like anymore because she just knows. Go see her!Roshell - Roshell cut my hair over this last weekend (I had an urgent need for a cut) and she was a pleasant person. She remained talkative and friendly. I was satisfied with my haircut that she gave me.

I had a really weird experience here. I went in a little before 8pm and used their bathroom and sat down and then waited. The receptionist never greeted me and so I just waited for one of the barbers to be free and both of them had customers so I waited for over 30min and I checked again and saw that since they had only one customer the other barber had started doing other tasks and I asked if I could get a haircut and it turns out they thought I was waiting for their one and only customer. Despite the fact that we hadn’t come at the same time and we hadn’t spoken one word to each other, they assumed we were together. Also they thought I wasn’t waiting for a haircut because they apparently don’t take walk-ins! WHAT?! I have never heard of a barbershop in their price range not taking walk-ins. I confirmed with someone else that that is weird. Plus it doesn’t seem to say that anywhere online or in the shop, so they should probably fix that. And I think the receptionist would know more of what’s going on if she spent more time at the front desk and was a tad bit more observant, with better customer service. This situation could have all possibly been fixed, because it was a misunderstanding, but they were just like ‘oh, sorry’ and didn’t seem particularly concerned about me spending over a half hour in there for nothing so I won’t be trying this place again.

Terrible haircut no barber should ever leave a pronounced line on a fade. They said this person was a barber but was labeled as a stylist online. I trusted their claims and was left with a below average haircut. The stylist also never used a mirror for me to approved the back now I know why.

I have been a long time customer of this barber shop. I make sure that I visit every two months, because my hair grows faster than most people. I like this shop because they know exactly what to do with my hair.

Spent many years finding the right barber, then I was lucky enough to get an appointment with David. Hell cut your hair right every time. The front desk staff has messed up with over scheduling before, but some recent hires have been consistently better.

I went in for a beard trim and shape up it was $34. The stylist was very friendly and did a great job but I paid $24 for her to line up the back of my head. This place can’t seem to keep the same employees for more than a few months.

Then let me tell you the magic started, with a flicker of inspiration she said, “do you mind if I use he straight razor?” 20 minutes of pain (the good kind?) later and voila, she killed it. Dont bother unless you have 2-3 hours of your weekend to dedicate to getting a haircut. At 2:40 my wife was given a slot of 3:30 and I was given a slot of 4pm. All the while Im looking at no fewer than 5 empty barber chairs and matter of fact, rude treatment from the woman at the front desk. Obviously an ownership who cares more about cutting corners and the appearance of exclusivity than actually providing a service to customers. Im sitting here watching person after person walk out of this location because they, like me, dont give over their entire weekend to a haircut at an obviously incompetently run barbershop. I loved the Floyds in Crofton, but the cuts and the staffing at the Rockville location have been very disappointing.

Been cutting my hair there since 2 years ago, good music, very clean and the staff is very professional.

Went in to get the back of my neck trimmed a little, walked out with some kind of skrillex hipster side fade thing. I showed them a picture of ME and what I wanted and They absolutely destroyed my hair, not even close to what I was looking for. Good thing it was a day before a wedding. Didnt make me pay because they knew it looked like crappie. Saving 20 bucks is nothing compared to looking like a fool. Go to a real salon, avoid Floyd.

Hair was not cut well. It was very uneven, to the point that I had to go elsewhere two days later to have it fixed. The new stylist had to spend awhile fixing it and consulted other colleagues.It was a shame because the barber was very nice. Could have been a bad day?
