Most of the showers in the ladies locker only get cold water. Theres a mask mandate but nobody is wearing masks. Nobody cleans their machines after use either. Other than that I love it there. If theyd fix the showers and enforce the rules Id give it 5 stars. The machines seem new and nice. Theres a good deal of space. Its possible to find times when its not real busy but not when youre an everyday exerciser who also works full time. The staff is mostly all really nice but probably way under paid which is a bummer for everybody involved. The parking lot is incredibly dangerous, Alpine location, Rockford Illinois. Multiple liquor stores in the shopping center adds bad driving and weirdos to the mix. Bring a weapon and be on full alert both in and out your car. Thats the fault of the shopping center though, not planet fitness. Im gonna keep going back everyday but I figured other people should be forewarned. If youre not using the showers, going during the morning only, and you dont have preexisting health issues that put you at high risk when people dont comply with public health codes then you might get a five star experience here.

Update over 200 days later after they still been charging me showing no concern for Covid after stating in a email and over the phone that all I had to do is write a letter. Well now they still charging me and sent me and email with more things I have to do I hope they enjoyed that because they lost me! Im going to my bank to show them the first email they sent me stating what all I had to do. NO STARS!My family and I caught Covid and while we were fighting for our lives they were taking our money for a service we couldnt use their response was basically all well, the manager was so quick to cancel me as if they dont want my $.

Great value for the price! 2 pieces of equipment for machines. The app is great too because it let you know how busy the gym is and many other helpful workouts if you dont have any idea what to do.

Sometimes the staff is a little hard to find or busy in their own conversations but all in all it’s a nice, quiet, clean environment to work out.

Needs to be much cleaner is very sorry in the bathrooms. They did not give enough information about signing up and joining their club. They were not very pleasant it was an uncomfortable environment needs improvement.

I love the place as well as the equipment.I however and not ok with a male dressed as a female using the womens locker room.

I have been coming to this gym since it opened. I’m giving 4 stars because I love the atmosphere, how clean the gym is and most all of the employees. The employees are always cleaning the equipment, mopping and sanitizing everything. They are always friendly and helpful if I have any questions about machines. The only problem is the new manager. I have tried to speak to him and he puts off the attitude like he is better than everyone. Not once have I seen him clean anything. But I do see him walking very quickly and aimlessly around the gym with a diet Dr. Pepper in his hand. While I was on the stair master the other day I saw a member ask him a question and he went to follow her and rolled his eyes behind her back. That is why I’m writing this review... because he is very rude and unprofessional. Unfortunately, he brings down the whole environment at the gym and I’m afraid planet fitness may lose several customers because of him.

Staff are not friendly at all . No attempt is made to enforce mask mandate at all . I have complained to staff, manager and regional manager to no avail. People walk around with mask on chin, some with no mask at all . I have been a member for almost 7 yrs . and feel like there is no concern for the health and safety of members . Manager often time is seen walking around with mask covering only his mouth .

My first gym visit since Covid-19. Stopped in for a workout. Clean machines, friendly staff, not crowded. Plenty of staff cleaning everything regularly and lots of handlebar sanitizer available.

I rarely make complaints on this level, but the service I have experience with Planet Fitness and their 3rd party business manager ABC Fitness today has been far below sub par standards, and completely insensitive to the current COVID status. Daily we are having more and more limitations on crowds and shut downs in my local area to meet COVID 19 needs, and I have requested a refund (after months of allowing debits) for my last charge, and to cancel my service, and not only was I told a refund was not possible, but I was told the ONLY way to cancel is in person. How much sense does that make during this time!? That is irrational. If I dont care to come in to workout, I am not likely to make a trip to sign your cancellation paperwork. This is very disappointing as it is an affordable and convenient gym, but this service makes other (more expensive and less convenient) establishments more attractive. Im very disappointed in this service and cannot recommend my local (IL) Planet Fitness, and likely the business overall.

I can work out anytime, morning, afternoon or evening

This place has aged with grace and integrity. Since they first opened it began a chapter in which I would soon not forget. Well kept and up to par. The Staff are so tentative and very knowledgeable.

You cannot beat the price. However you get what you pay for and after a few months of nightly work... Felt kinda bored by the lack of options even with mixing up my forms and sets.Now with covid, must wear a mask if not exercing but otherwise dont have to....say what? Pointless. Only open now for a limited timeframe... Cancelled membership.Judgement free zone... Unless you look like a lunk. Hypocrites... But who can beat that price. No one. Ill be back... Begrudgingly... If things ever return to normal.

Theyve been doing a very good job of keeping it clean

I chose this location for the simple fact it’s smaller more comfortable and I can work out in peace. I signed up for a few months last year but wound up canceling do to personal reasons. I like how easy the cancellation process was no hassles and extremely quick, Unlike the previous gym I used I will definitely be returning!

The staff is amazing! They make you feel welcome. They are very supportive and the personal trainer Jonah is fantastic. Truly a judgement free atmosphere. I wouldnt go anywhere else!

Love this gym. Very friendly staff lots of different kinds of exercises for everyone.. The tanning beds are pretty cool nice an hot.. also the massage beds are amazing.. after a good workout its just necessary for me.. Best place to stay healthy these days. They clean machines often. Alot of the staff i know an are great at what they do.

Decent equipment, good value for the money. This location is a bit run down compared to the Loves Park location. Nothing terrible, but noticeable.Id just like to add that this location does have pieces of equipment not yet at the LP location.Edit: the last few times having come to this location, the employees have been a bit more diligent in keeping it clean and kept up.

Beware of the extra fees and if you cancel you have to buy out the contract. They will bill your account when ever they feel like it, not when its due. Friendly and helpful staff and a clean place to work out.My only issues:- Building smells weird.- Customer service when canceling is a nightmare.- Youll still be billed long after the cancelation of your account.

The staff are friendly and the new rules are clearly posted. They preset up the social distance for you and have cleaning stations near the equipment for better access.

This is a great place for adults and kids to workout you can work at your own pace and still get the results you want. They also offer trainers. Its just a great place to get healthy.

Great gym, clean, good staff.Biggest issue is not enough, nor big enough ceiling fans, too hot, too sweaty, most gyms at least have options to workout under a big hard blowing fan for more comfort, less sweat if no time for a shower.

This place is awesome. Super clean and not very crowded. You almost never have to wait for a machine. Every square inch of this place is really clean. Staff seems to friendly also. Overall its a great place. And way way cheaper than the other gyms around.

Gym is well maintained and contains anything one would need to meet fitness goals.The amount of people breaking clearly posted rules is a major turnoff to a gym that advertises a judgement free zone with rules in place to ensure all have a pleasant workout.People using the locker room as their personal office to make phone calls for over an hour on a regular basis. When voicing the concerns about this to a staff member, was told I should call the manager when she was available instead of dealing with the person to refrain (this was the 5th day in a row for never ending personal calls)Guys walking around in muscle tanks or shirtless or in jeans can be seen daily.The 30 min express workout is never supervised, in 7 weeks, only 1x have I been able to effectively follow the workout because everyone uses the area to sit on the machinesto look at their cell phone or skip around to whatever machine they feel like, budging in front of others instead of following the rules clearly posted on the wall. Hard to get an effective workout in with this. Huge turn off

Alpine Planet Needs An Upgrade Tanning Beds Suck, Parking Lot Is Always Packed Can Never Find A Spot And The Area Is Horrible At Night. Go To Loves Park.

Price is very good for just working out. And black card for other perks is even nicer. Massage chair tanning etc. Not bad.

I absolutely love how lax and unintimidating it is to walk in there. Whenever I walk into other gyms, I instantly feel like I dont belong. I love that there is literally no judgement whatsoever for anyone. Everyone is there for the same reason, to become better. I love the amenities they offer; shower, locker rooms, bathrooms, tanning, hydromassage....and its all so NICE!! I always recommend Planet, everywhere I go. Its my escape and favorite place to go on time off.

So close and convenient to me, and most of the staff is friendly. Very affordable!There’s always a bike available, (in the early morning,) and almost always a tanning bed available at that time! If not, wait time is minimal for tanning.The facility is also pretty clean considering that so many people walk through the doors daily!Parking can be a challenge at times...and I rarely, (if ever,) go there in the evening for safety reasons.

Signed up for health reasons, Meriam was very patient in answering all our questions while signing up. Jesi was very helpful in explaining the tanning rooms. There are a few new team members that are learning on the fly, but are still doing a great job.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Equipment is getting a little worn, but for the most part still in great shape. Mens locker room is needing some work. Lockers are showing some rust. The showers are my biggest complaint. I am unsure as to whether it is Rockfords water or just how it was installed. Water pressure is quite poor, and it may be the plumbing. The rain overhead shower controller and the side sprayer are somehow interconnected. If you turn the side one the overhead will stop (and change temp. depending on where you are.) They are also poorly placed IMHO. The side shower should be a little above waist height and they are more lower chest height. I used to go to the one in Fond du Lac and they are placed the way I would expect.

I am always welcomed by Ryan and Jose every time I come in ! I don’t feel judged cuz I come in only to tan and get an awesome massage and I never feel like they are looking down on me for that! Thank you everyone for making environment amazing! 😇🥰

Planet fitness has a lot to offer. The atmosphere is good for working out. They have personal trainers available to help you reach your goals. There are several different machines to get a good work out. The frustrating thing is that some of the machines wont monitor your heart rate. They have a large number of machines so you could almost always use your favorite one.

This is the Carnival Cruise line of gyms. Thats the easiest way to put it.

Its ok not great. Parking number 1 is terrible and not in the freatest part of Rockford. Sometimes there is no parking at all and cant park in other parts because its only for their business. The staff isnt the friendlist and the traininer was very nice however i didnt really gain anything out of it.

What a great place! Its kept absolutely spotless, from clean locker rooms to good clean equipment, theres always an employee going around and cleaning the equipment.Was a little cautious at first as it didnt look that big, but I have never ever had to wait for a machine. Even the free weights and benches are fairly free, if you come during rush hour you may have to share, but any other time youll have it to yourself! For the longest time I avoided the free weights and workout circuits, because I never felt comfortable. Just recently I started using these things. Very surprised! Very helpful and as always no judgment. Never been really big on gyms but this place is different, never gotten a dirty look or anything! What a amazing place.

Great place to work out at very clean I just dont like how theyre walking around cleaning while youre working out. But I can live with it. Also on their television they dont have the World Cup playing and they dont have many Chicago stations. But Im going to work out not to watch TV so its not a big deal.

Good place to for cardio. If you are into heavy lifting probably want to find a different place. They have some machines and free weights but not a lot. Lots of cardio machines. Place is clean and price is very reasonable if you wait till they have specials for 10/month or $100/year.

Ive been going as a friends guest for about 3 months and just recently purchased the black card membership for myself, its fantastic, clean equipment and extremely friendly and helpful staff, yes, there are rules about dropping weights loudly and no spaghetti tanks or jeans in the gym area, but thats fine by me, quite frankly, I wouldnt wanna work out in either of those anyway. All of their requirements/rules are to prevent the sadly normal bullying you get at other gyms because you might not be in the greatest shape but youre trying to better yourself and their rules prevent the bullying and embarrassing looks that youd get somewhere that doesnt have these rules

This may have the newest equipment but the absolute worst employees in sure Ill let forced to come here again but only because of location have never been so disappointed in a PF ever and Ive been to several of them

Today, June, 4th I went to P. F. As I do 3 to 4 times a week. I workout and then tan. I joined in early March, my problem is with Savannah who works at the front desk. I know its her job to ask me if I have my eye wear, its her attitude that is rude. When other employees did ask me if I had my eye wear I always have them, this Savannah wants to see them, I am a 61 year old women, I know how important it is to wear eye wear!

Planet Fitness on south alpine is emaculate. The company has a no judgment policy, making it a favorable gym for most people that struggle socially. I personally use this gym, and Ive seen many transformations, including myself. Its open 24/7, so you dont have to worry about a conflicting schedule. They do free pizza, and bagels, every once in awhile, and they even have a list of services such as tanning beds. The benefits at this gym are endless. The only reason they are missing 5/5 stars on this review, is because some people prefer to lift with free weights, instead of machines. However, planet fitness is the safest gym possible. This is a great place.

Very nice place to work out I was very nervous about it but once I arrived to get my membership I felt comfortable and welcomed . I hopped on treadmill n started burning calories 😄 my only thing is I wish they would use some air freshener n better ventilation because it smells like a gym 🤔

Im a male middle-aged runner that was a member to this gym for 1 year.This gym was fine at first despite the lack of locker cleaning, they smelled like garbage most of the times, but they worked. It was hard to find an open locker at times since no one uses a lock and I had to open up lockers just to find out theyre in use, but I always ended finding one...eventually.I recently canceled my membership at this gym because it was getting too busy. Because of this it made the things that kind of bothered me bother me even more.Instead of opening 6 lockers to finally find one not in use. I opened like 20 just find out there were no available lockers. I understand you cant force people to use a lock, but you are aware of the situation at the very least work out some kind of system to help your other customers that dont have time to open 20 lockers just to find out there are none available. I can tolerate a lot, but this topped the cake for me.Id much rather pay $45 a year, $40 for a key fab, and $40 per month than have to deal with that crap.
