There are some potential hazards.Aug 23rd Post: If, as the owner states, Member safety if very important and are always on the lookout for potential hazards then 1.) Why did these safety issues need to be brought to the owners attention by a member and 2.) Why are these unsafe conditions unchanged 2 weeks after the owner acknowledges they exist?

I had joined this Gym back in May. Great staff and great environment. I ended up joining the personal training program they offer with my son and it was all great. At the start of sep I decided to come to the decision to end the personal training sessions. In the process of all of this my son tested positive for covid. I reached out to peaks to explain I needed to end the PT sessions but 1 they only communicate via Email and 2 they take their time to respond. It took a whole week and a half to get a response telling me I had to wait a 30 days before it was canceled and pay another fee for it for the following month. By the time this happened I ended up testing positive for covid myself. Im going back and forth explaining to them in emails that I cannot come in for sessions because I have covid but they just ignore the fact basically making it my problem and not theirs. I requested a call that I never got and now Im forced to pay for a service that I cannot receive. Talk about shady business, this is definitely it. Peaks does not care if a covid positive member comes in to their facility all they care about is taking your money.

Be careful in signing any contracts. This Golds is using Peak Payment solutions to manage payments and contracts. Requested to cancel on 4/28/2021 inside the gym facility and was directed to submit cancellation request to Peak Payment Solutions. Did so, have receive in written form 3 times that my accounts are closed and with zero balance, but I continually get harassing emails and phone calls that I have a past due balance. Peak Payment solutions is trying to bully their way into fraudulent payments and Golds has ruined their reputation by being aligned with Peak Payment solutions. Be aware.

Gym keeps charging membership fees over 6 months after written request to cancel due to location changes due to COVID pandemic!!!Impossible to cancel, management keeps pretending to forget to follow up, or not be available on the phone, or to not see emails after confirming correct email address. Changes in management add to lack of communication and making membership cancellation impossible.The company responsible for collecting payments, however, seems to be excellent at trying to get a hold of you, and will even call your emergency contact person (meant ONLY for medical emergencies) to try to reach you and collect membership fees for a membership that should have been cancelled 6 months ago!!!

This gym has me in a contract with the amenities of a pool, tanning and smoothie bar which all do not exist any longer. Not to mention the staff that is now currently running this place is unfriendly.

Typical gym membership that is very difficult to get out of. Paul explained it in a way that made it seem that I could easily get out of membership, have visited once, and have been unable to go back due to back issue. Also moved. You can not cancel through gym, they use a third party which is just shady at best, takes several days to get a reply. The fact I was told I could easily get out of contract by Paul was a lie, and having to go around the gym to do so is just had business. This is your typical pushy sales tactic that everyone hates in a business. Would not recommend to anyone, there are just better gyms with better people.

It’s an above average facility for more experienced lifters. although a lot of people are complaining about the cancellation process it’s because apparently grown folks aren’t able to distinguish that a contract is legally binding whether it be a membership, lease, rent, etc... If you do your due diligence and actually follow up to cancel it’s a fairly simple process if you’re not entitled. Loved working, and working out here when i did and i would recommend the gym to anyone looking to get started lifting. lifters of all backgrounds and fitness levels.

Overall a great facility with lots of variety. Cons: only 2 squat racks and 1 deadlift platform. Personal training is a joke. The trainers watch new lifters perform the exercises with bad form and just let it happen. There is no focus on mind-muscle connection and actually targeting specific muscle groups. The only focus is moving the weight from point A to B.

Used to be much nicer but lately pads and equipment continue to deteriorate with no repairs in sight. Only plate loaded leg press has been down for nearly 3 weeks with no word on when it will be fixed, most barbells are bent and warped, multiple machines and benches have torn and ripped pads.

Called about 2 weeks ago, was told they accepted blue cross blue shields fitness your way by Tivity, upon arrival today, was told they no longer accept the program. I’m sure it isn’t something you can just stop accepting at your whim, but was told they stopped yesterday, a Tuesday, not a Sunday at the end of the week or a Monday the beginning of the week, but a Tuesday.

Absolutely will never return here beware. I came in under trial membership after usually facility twice it was shut down due to covid. After being closed two months facility called and I advised I wouldn’t be returning due to risk of covid and I had young infant at home also I moved over an hour away from facility this was another reason I wouldn’t be returning. Gym charged me over 200 that was put on my credit report after I wouldn’t return so sad very unprofessional they get you in under trial and then this and no one returns my calls

I started going here about 2 two years ago, and was completely overwhelmed. They have everything a great gym needs, but I had no idea how to do anything. I recently started working with a trainer there, Justina, and my whole gym experience has changed. She’s taught me how to use machines, how to work my muscles without them, and even how to eat right to lose the weight I desire. I stayed at gold’s through my pregnancy and the pandemic and they’ve been nothing but incredible to my family and me the entire time. The staff remembers each person and it’s just a nice experience any time. I’m finally seeing results in my body and confidence and I owe that to Gold’s but every more so to Justina.

Went there tonight (10/29/2020). Since it’s Friday I had a friend with me as a guest. Was told at the front desk they don’t allow guests anymore because of the COVID-19. Normally this changes should be announced. Anyway, I asked for an exception because we didn’t know and there was really no more than 10 cars on the parking lot. Obviously the gym was empty. The guy said NO and offered us to buy a day pass. So this is not a safety concern it’s just a way to up-sale right? It’s a shame that people try to profit from the disaster going around. It’s not a bad gym. But the management (staff) is definitely not customer oriented. Will not recommend this place

Ive been a member with Golds Gym over two years. I decided to purchase a (PT) package with Mike he explained my package very well and did not push anything 3 months in we communicate very well as life does happen he works with me through my situations. I currently train with Bri shes definitely the best personal trainer Ive ever had if your looking for qualified trainers Bri and Mike are the best I recommend this gym to anyone. I would also like to mention Q hes the manager always helpful answers any questions I have.

Unprofessional staff. They DO NOT keep up on cleanliness of their gym. Any gym I go to, I’ve always tried my best to leave it cleaner than how I found it. Unfortunately with this gym, it’s always dirty. Trash always overflowing. Empty paper towel dispensers. Disinfecting spray bottles either broken or empty. Paper towels everywhere in the floor as I am constantly picking them up and throwing them away as I walk by them. They also decided (from pressure by the local city of rock hill) to enforce the wearing of masks when you walk in the door but you can then take it off while you’re working out? Makes no sense logically. Especially when they can’t even take the trash out when it needs to be taken out. How can people who can’t even take their own trash out, enforce people to wear masks? I wouldn’t want them to tell me what I should be doing for my health, when they can’t even perform simple, necessary cleanliness tasks. I rate Zero stars.

Needed to renew my membership but they said you can’t do it on the app i need to do it in person. Okay cool, I called yesterday to ask if I come in today how long do I have before staff leaves and the rep told me I have until 9pm to renew before staff leaves. Came in at 8pm on the dot and the guy at the desk said they don’t renew memberships past eight. Waste of gas and poor communication. I’ll just go back to lifetime fitness since this such an issue for them.

Ive been a member here since it opened a few years ago. Always a great place to go workout. Staff is super friendly, the facility is clean and spotless, and they have plenty of exercise machines to choose from. My favorite feature is their Cardio Cinema. Cardio machines bore me, but watching a movie and getting some cardio at the same time makes it go a lot faster. Place is safe during pandemic. Sanitizing and masks are number one priority. I also love that its recently gone 24 hrs.

This place feels more like a spa than it does a gym. The equipment is always in disarray, which is hard to do with how little equipment they have to begin with. And somehow they manage to choose the worst music possible too. It’s a GYM, not a kids bop commercial.

Went here a while back, finally changed gyms after a while, staff is friendly, but they really try to push you into packages and personal training, very forceable.My wife had a mental breakdown signing up alone so had to come back with her.Gym is nice overall, meatheads everywhere, very little standing spot, and very unsanitary.I would suggest checking out planet fitness down the road, it would be a lot more worth it.

Been to many many gyms and experienced in what it will be like and it all starts at the start.Friendly staff,24 hour $15 workout for the day pass which I can go again tomorrow early..BIG PLUS..asked if they had cleaning positions and the girl got my information without being annoyed..another plus..members looked comfortable working out, had cleaning towels and spray.Bathrooms were very nice.Machines are upgraded,all benches were spread out.Forget the negative comments and check it out yourself.

AVOID THIS GYM. My review is going to be long, but read this before you consider a membership here!My experience at this gym has been bad from the start.First of all, upkeep of the gym. I signed up for Golds Gym in Rock Hill back in July of 2020 when I moved here from Arizona. I noticed on our tour, one of the fluorescent lights by the treadmills was flickering, but I didnt think much of it. 4 months later, that light is still buzzing and flickering. I come work out every morning at 5am and get ready in the locker room for work. Two of the four fluorescent lights by the sinks in the locker room have been out for at least a month and the soap dispensers are always out and rarely changed. On weekends I come in during staffed hours, and I have never seen any of the staff doing any cleaning, and they dont enforce the mask rule. They only sit at the desk on their phones and barely notice when someone walks up to them for help.Most recently, there have been two incidents that have completely turned me off. There is one female trainer who I see every morning when Im in the locker room, we usually share a polite hello and thats it. On election day, she came in and went on a religious tirade about how if one of he candidates wins, the world is going to end (according to her pastor). She went on for about 5 minutes and I felt absolutely backed into a corner and was astonished by the lack of professionalism.All of that aside, what happened to me this weekend was the absolute last straw. Saturday morning, my boyfriend, best friend (who is not a member), and myself walked into Golds Gym just as their staffed hours were starting at 8AM. Their doors were still locked, so we buzzed in with my boyfriends key fab. When my boyfriend and I signed up for the gym, we were told that with our family plan, we had guest privileges. So he buzzed in, and we walked into the gym. We were stopped by desk staff who explained that I had to register my guest and pay a $15 fee. I apologized for the misunderstanding and got my guest registered and charged the fee to my account. She also had to check me in which was no big deal. When we signed up, it was my understanding we had a family plan and only needed the one fab, but again that was a misunderstanding, so I was happy to sign in. All of that aside, we worked out, and about an hour later I got an email from the General Manager, Quaden Lee stating that I broke the rules and my account will be SUSPENDED until I pay a $100 fee. I spoke to Quaden and explained it was all a misunderstanding, a desk attendant explained everything to me, I got signed in, and paid for my guest, so no rules were broken and there must have just been a hiccup in communication. Quaden proceeds to tell me you didnt know you had to check in a guest, what do you think this is, planet fitness?. Ive simply never brought a guest to the gym before and thought I had guest privileges. He proceeds to tell me you never had guest privileges so dont try to lie. you broke the rules and stole money from the company by not checking in when you come in. Not only was Quaden hostile over the phone, but he accused me of stealing when I pay my dues on time every month. So Im being charged $100 for ACCIDENTALLY breaking a rule.Quadens story changed from you almost didnt sign in and tried to bring in a guest so because of that you are being charged to you paid for your guest so thats irrelevant, youre being charged because you come in every morning and dont sign in at the front desk, you just key in with your boyfriends key fab. So not only can Quaden not keep his story straight, it is my impression he just wants money.On top of that, over the phone he told me if I wasnt happy with this policy, I could cancel my membership for $500+. He is all but pushing me out the door of this gym. He then proceeds to tell me he doesnt care if he loses two members and a potential member (my friend who joined us) because thats what it takes to enforce policy.This gym and their staff DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.

Canceled my membership because we moved further away, provided proof of relocating to cancel membership and they still decided to charge me over $500. Kept telling them we relocated and sent proof and it was basically ignored. The ABC financial people were rude and it still went to collections. They said we needed to dispute it with them by mail. 🙄On top of that when I was a member there, the employees that would open the gym frequently would not even show up on time.10/10 would not recommend. Go to LA fitness down the street or Planet Fitness.

My husband and I recently joined, and we love it! Everyone who works there is awesome! Theyre all friendly and give excellent customer service. The gym has a great variety of equipment for cardio and weight training. They also offer a lot of group fitness classes. The gym is kept clean and well maintained. Whatever you fitness level is or what goals you have, there is something for everyone! ☺👍🏻🏋️‍♂️🏊‍♀️💪

Super friendly staff. They definitely stand out from all other gyms Ive been to. The other situations in the gym have been steadily improving, Im looking forward to seeing the continued improvements. We still need basic functional equipment and a little tighter cleaning of the locker rooms but it keeps getting better every month.

Great facility but sales pitch the staff hits you with is ridiculously shady hidden fees never disclosed at initial consultation but abruptly and somewhat insulting pitched later or explained after you sign up I mean a annual fee for gym equipment maintenance isnt that what a membership fee is for to make sure the equipment is in good working order and a clean facility is expected without additional cost or extra fees I must say to be fair most of the staff were friendly and courteous but the experience outside of the workout space seemed like a timeshare free dinner always pitching something at every turn so know what you are exposing yourself to when you investigate a membership before you invest in this facility

My family was scammed by this gym. My mother has a long-term membership at this gym. For my birthday, my mother paid for a membership for me that was 3 months, then a month that we were on vacation (meaning that we are not going to pay for this month, that was the contract), and then another 3 months(with each month costing $30). My first 3 months have already expired, and we are back from vacation, so today I was supposed to start the rest of the membership. When I walked in with my mom, she had asked the workers at the front desk to reactivate the membership. They told us that we had never even paid for the other three months that we had paid for. And news to us, they had charged us $60 a month, which was not what we had agreed on. So to summarize, they scammed us entirely. And to add on to that, a manager from this gym called to try to sort things out. The manager was so rude and condescending and completely full of nonsense. And to add on even more, the manager had said that they can just charge people who are paying for a membership more than other people for no reason. For example, my moms membership is $29 a month (the reason that is not $30 is because she has a long term membership) and for my membership I was being charged $60 a month. Seems unfair, right? And to add on EVEN MORE, the first day that I had used my gym membership, my mother and I talked to the workers at the front desk and confirmed that the deal of three months, a break, and then three more months was absolutely clear, even though we had already checked several times before that. And the lady who we had checked with on that day, didnt seem to remember that we had made the deal whenwe spoke to her today.According to them, it wasnt in the system. Everyone who had tried to help us, were either lying or the system is horrible, but one thing is for sure, they were all not helpful, and scamming us of our money. If you want to use this gym, just be mindful that there is a big possibility that you might be scammed. And just so you know, the gym is REFUSING to give us a refund, when we were wrongfully charged. And another fact that is important, they had fired the man who signed me up in the first place, and claimed that they had deleted his number. This is a warning to people who are looking to sign up for this gym and a way to hopefully find someone at the gym to be reasonable and help us. If I could, I would rate this 0 stars, but too bad I cant. UGH.

This is a very clean gym with a wide variety of equipment. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about nutrition and workout plans. They even give you a free fitness assessment upon signing up!! That has helped me focus my workout routine into a manageable goal. Overall i really enjoy this gym and always look forward to coming back.

Very clean pool and a huge variety of equipment. You can watch movies and your own personal tv on your workout machine. The staff are awesome and the locker rooms and very clean. Im on a 7 day pass but I will be on a full membership because I find it better when I can grunt to push myself harder. Who goes to a gym to be quiet? How do you motivate yourself if you dont see others who look good. It pushes you harder... Therefore I will be there in Jan.

Awesome Gym.The staff was very professional to the point I was just blown away from my front door entry! I had my kid with me, so I knew this would be a hit or miss with this attempt to leave her in a new place while I worked out. This is where my eyes were set upon a heavenly figure with red hair. I could hear the harps playing as she spoke to my child. She gracefully took her in the play area and she asked me to fill some forms out so I could leave her in the center. Golds management please pay attention. This woman makes your entire business better. Soft on the eyes and wow on the attention to details she spent time with my kid. I saw a ring on her finger so I knew she wasnt interested. She motivates me to work out like a mad man.Thanks Golds and hire more trainers like this lady.

This place is awesome!!! Their staff always greet you when you come in and out the door. They are always adding new equipment for any exercise you can think. If they dont have it...it doesnt exist...lol. Jo runs the tanning salon and is always in a good mood and ready to help you however she can. My Son loves the classes and the Girls that watch him in the childrens center. Has a great atmosphere for anyone...any size...any age. Dont know how the other gyms are in town(Probably Never will either). Golds Gym sets the standard and the bar high for their competition!!!

Best gym Ive been to so far. Great staff and big weights. THIS IS NOT PLANET FITNESS. I have big goals, I flex in the mirror, I sing out loud, and I grunt. The machines work great with every workout. The free weights are clean and organized (until I get to them.) The staff knows me by name and treat me like family. Also very clean facility.

Friendly staff and great equipment. I use the term great, concerning the equipment, with reserve, because the equipment would be absolutely awesome if the repairs of damaged or worn out machines or machine parts was repaired or replaced in a timely fashion. Instead we have to wait as long as 2 to 4 weeks, waiting for a part (supposedly) before the equipment is usable again. What doesnt make sense is that every single member is twice a year charged a maintenance fee that the club states is used for equipment maintenance or repair. Calculating that every member pays this fee means tens of thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars is collected for this repair fee that simply does not happen in a reasonable amount of time. This mean that if one machine for one body part is out of service, then members cannot exercise that particular body part until the equipment is usable again.I would give 5 stars but my complaint with the equipment repair along with the fact that all of the negative concerns and complaints described in posts before mine are legitimate complaints, from my experience in my tenure as a member here. I can attest that it absolutely is impossible to cancel a membership and that the lies run rampant concerning membership and about cancelling a membership. These are not made-up complaints from disgruntled members; they are real and genuine. Staff are concerned only with their commission from selling a membership and not the least bit interested in honest, caring information. The same goes for the other Golds Gym locations belonging to the same owner, especially the Concord, NC location...

I’m a previous Gold’s Gym member at the Epicenter in Charlotte. So I’m not new to the Gold’s Gym experience and what they have to offer. I joined this gym recently here in Rock Hill. I had a fitness assessment with a staff member, Mike. Throughout the assessment, he seemed to be pleasant to me up until the end when I disclosed that I did not want to add a trainer onto my plan and began to inquire about my budget after I told him so. Following up with a “how much would I like to spend and that they’ll work with me” kind of deal. My response was, “I would have to get back to him.” At that point he became from what I perceived to be very distasteful (salty) and dismissive. Followed by a petty/sly remark. Customers should not feel pressured to add on services, should be treated with respect and great customer service at all times. Also, keep in mind that we (customers) have bills and budgets just like the staff there. Other than that incident everything has been fine so far.

Coming from California I solely worked out at Gold Gym and was used to the clenlyness and great equipment Golds always supplied and the same is with Golds Rock Hill. The staff is super friendly and help full, equipment is top notch and the pool and hot tub are refreshing. The girls in the day care genuinely care about their job and are very rapturous which is very important to me since I have two daughter who always love to come to the gym with me and look forward to the daycare experience. Joined this gym with a friend for two reasons. 1. They had child care. 2. To have a workout buddy. Shortly after joining, there was a situation with one of the childcare workers and my friend’s 2 year old that my friend actually WITNESSED! Knowing this had happened, how was I supposed to feel comfortable leaving my children in their care?! Nope. I feel that they need to have certified child care workers with experience in there taking care of people’s children while they work out. Especially if someone comes in with a child that has special needs. Those mommies need to work out, too. I would never recommend anyone with children to join this gym. Also, the steam sauna was broken for the few months that I was a member and they never fixed it.

I love working out at Rock Hill Golds because the staff is always so helpful, the day care is super clean and friendly and the cardio classes, especially the Just Dance class are incredibly energetic and fun. This is the best place in Rock Hill to work out by far. Thanks Golds staff!!

Unfair billing practices...extra fees and charges that are presented in *small font*. The local billing person will not respond to your phone calls if you call her or leave a message. Beware of this gym or just find another that is of better quality and upfront about costs. I was a member for 2 years but got annoyed with all their extra and petty charges.

This is the BEST gym in Rock Hill. The spa/sauna, or tub and pool is a great add on. ALl the trainers and staff are nice and helpful. And the whole gym has a great, high energy feel. Become a member!!!!

I have been a member from the beginning when it was first Omni and then bought by Golds. In all honesty the transition from the old gym to the new was a little difficult for me at first as I had already been adapted to my home away from home gym. It didnt take long to adapt as the new equipment and amenities at the new gym really won me over.I am still currently a VIP member and very happy. I have made a few great friends and a ton of acquaintances in my time at Golds and it really feels like a home to me. All in all, the areas are always clean, the staff is always happy to help, and the management team goes out of their way to make sure the members are happy. As a person who has managed to lose 140 pounds over the past year with the help of this facility and all it has to offer...it is a great place. Give it a serious try and get some serious results...Thanks!!!

The gym itself is good; good equipment, great staff, and good management at this specific location. Im moving for grad school and it has been a struggle trying to cancel. Keep that in mind if you plan on just using the gym short term. The director of Customer Service, Kaitlyn Hunt, is extremely hard to get a hold of. Ive emailed and only received one back after contacting my director at this gym to see the status on my request. Its almost been a month and still I have no update. Its painful and poor skills for a customer service director.

Can someone help me get out of my contract? Ive put up with it for a year, and the membership consultant signed me up for auto-renewal (not by my choice, I signed a signature pad and he checked the wrong box). Im okay to stay in it for the rest of the year but definitely want out when it ends.The manager at the gym was not helpful- his only suggestion was that I write to a PO box to correct the membership consultants error and have corporate administration uncheck the box. However, he took my new debit card when that needed to be changed. Can customer service and the managers only help when they are taking my money?

This gym has a nice variety of equipment. Other amenities include a pool, hot tub, and sauna. Get very crowded at times, and members are not very diligent at putting the weighs back after they have been used.Biggest issue is that they take a very long to to repair equipment or maintenance items. There was a leak in the roof or HVAC system last year, and it took well over a month to repair. A bucket sat on the floor to collect the water.

Just went to check memberships at the Express location because Im new on the Rock Hill area. Sounds like the have a new location that will be open soon. I cant wait for this one to be open. Between the swimming pool, the steam room and the cardio cinema sounds like will be the best gym ever. I have being a Golds Gym member over 12 years now and Im glad they keep getting better and better with the time. If you are serious about your results, this is the gym to be.

Had a very negative experience with a staff member regarding my ID and travel pass one evening. This establishment also lacks diversity among its employees. The associates are mainly white females and black males as managers. Need to be more inclusive! Compared to other Golds, there is barely an equipment in the Ladies room.. what a joke! If there was a closer Golds Gym in the area, I would most definitely go to that one.

Staff is always on their phones at the front desk. They rarely acknowledge you walking in the door. The facility is always dirty. Trash cans overflowing, paper towels empty. Tread climber and stair master machines have been broken for months. The only thing I actually like is the childcare service while my wife and I workout.

The Staff is also cheerful and greets you as you enter and as you leave they. Say bye even if there doing something else. The place is also kept neat and towels are always available!!! Of course equipment is a plus.

The staff is wonderful and love the equipment! However, The pool for the second week is cold, not even luke warm temperature. You cant please everyone and things do happen, however when I joined with Golds, I was told that this was one of the features of using the pool. This has been an on and off problem for this year and part of last year and now Im officially disappointed. It will help to let us know before we get into the pool (a sign posted or something) or dont offer it as a feature to get someone to join the gym.Thank you.

The gym is newer and I would say has very nice equipment. My main reason for joining was the pool and hot tub, due to back and knee injuries that is where I need to do most my fitness activities. The pool took around half a year to open after the rest of gym which I was advised it would open at the same time or shortly after. Since the gym has been open the pool has had numerous closings or has been freezing cold when its open. The hot tub too has been working maybe 50% of the time Ive been there. Im here today 8/31/17 and pool still cold and hot tub not working (cold). Two years and still havent fixed problems. I was told by another member the company hired to construct the pool made serious mistakes and it really needs to be tore out and reconstructed correctly. After 2 years of constant issues Im prone to believe that member because anytime somethings fixed it immediately breaks down again. Oh yea and the locker rooms are way to small.

Very welcoming staff, very clean, provides towels for free, Jacuzzi, Sauna, steam, and pool. The have outdoor place training. Theater where you can watch an already picked movie, running belts have a big screen and easy to connect your cell phone to it.training classes.Cons:A lot of fees (Enrollment fee, every 6 months fee, $19.99 ... fee).you have to sign a one or two-year contract.One month fee is expensive $60 (no contract with this option)

I like Golds Gym. Its always clean and has a friendly staff. Ive heard some people complain about the new layout. But honestly there is plenty of room in the newer facility. Maybe they should try coming at different times if its too busy.

Just dont join. Oh lord have mercy on your soul if you join. You will be stuck over paying for this awful gym for a year, with no way out(they will make sure to not tell you about that). I am sure that even if you die they will make you pay for you membership from the grave. There are some other really nice gyms in the area, RUN to them and away from golds.
