Took my car in for possible coolant leak. The positives? Repairs were completed in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. The negative? No one called me to discuss the repairs and cost in advance. Although repairs were minor and cost was minimal, I still should have received a call to authorize the repairs.

Shopes automotive did quit abit of work on my sons car, he recently purchased a 2008 Buick lucerne, that we hoped was a great deal very low miles in excellent shape, bought from small dealer, as is. we werent to clever about getting it checked out though, assuming with low miles we had no problems, low and be hold after driving for a day engine light came on. The mechanics at Shopes worked on the car for week, changing aged parts and vacuum leaks, and knock on sensors. Unexpected big expense. But had to be fixed as car was going with son back to NH, there arestiff inspections there. Even gave a warranty, brought home on weekend, light returned. Brought back changed bad knock on sensor that was changed, no charge. Car is in NH, now so far so good.Respectable shop, will use there services in the future.

Good, honest place. Local to Rock Hill. The price quoted was the price I paid. I had to get my transmission replaced and Jason kept me updated on the progress, which helped me figure out how long I needed a rental car. Very pleased with their work and their communication.

I went to Shopes get a timing chain replaced my car was still running when it was taken to them. They had my Vehicle there for two weeks before they even looked at my car. They assured me they would run a diagnostic test to verify that I did need a timing chain which is $40. They took my engine a part and called me saying i needed a new engine. I asked them did they run a test on my car to verify I needed a new engine they said no. My engine was taking apart and not put together like the gentleman Larry at the front desk said it would be. I had to pay them $160 they didnt put my engine back together and left parts of my engine in my truck. Then refused to provide me with a invoice of what I paid for. After calling Jason the shop owner to discuss the issue he was very rude and told me what he was not going to do. This has been the worst experience Ive ever had.

I set an appointment a week in advance. On the day of, my appointment was at 8a.m. I called at 2:00p.m. to pick my car up because it only needed an hours worth of labor. They told me they have not even looked at my vehicle yet. To me there were trying to find eztra reasons and ways to charge me and get money. Take your car elsewhere.

I give Larry and the rest of the folks at Shopes 5 stars a great big thank you for the fine work and 1700 dollar savings I got when they fixed my Honda Civic. After being told by Honda that I needed a brake power unit for 2200 dollars installed, I decided to get a second option and ended up at Shopes. After letting them run the diagnosis Larry informed me all I needed was the acuature . The car was ready when promised and works great and saving 1700 dollars was a blessing. Shopes is now my one stop shop for all auto repair. Honest,friendly and knowledgeable. The place to go for all you automotive repairs.

Hello to all reading this, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Here are the problems I had dealing with Shopes automotive.1. I took my 1997 Geo metro to shopes because it had recently stopped running. On paid inspection, I was told the problem was the ECM (electrical control module). I ordered multiple ECMs(6+ at $130-$180 a piece) for the Geo, which are a rarity to find, only to be told time after time that they werent any good. After 8 months of Jason having the Geo, I decided to pick it up. It was taken to Andy over at Cherry Road Automotive today 6/20/18. Within an hour I had a call back stating it was done and I could come pick it up. Wow, are you kidding me??? I had to buy another vehicle and spend upwards towards $1000 just to find out it wasnt the ECM, but a simple fix. First nightmare.2. I took my truck to Jason to have the hub assemblies fixed (before the Geo was fixed). I told him the problem and was charged the $40 for diagnosis when it was clearly the problem. No problem there. An hour later I receive a call stating it would be $680 to fix the hubs. What??? $410 for the parts and 3 hours in labor. Remind you my truck is a 2 wheel drive so no hub nut had to be taken off which can sometimes be a pain. I decided to pay the $40 fee and pick my truck up. I had both parts shipped to me at $120 with shipping. I changed both sides myself with hand tools. Took one hour. At this point I started really questioning his ethics and abuse that mechanics can so easily put onto individuals. A reasonable job that should have cost me about $350-400 at the most through Shopes Automotive.I personally advise not doing any business with him at all. Im very dissatisfied, disappointed and took a substantial financial loss!!
