I cannot recommend Shift Fast highly enough—everyone was great to work with on my install. Garrett answered every single question I had about adding an AOS and boost controller, ordered parts, and recommended another local shop for a carbon cleaning treatment prior to my install and tune. I chose this shop initially because it is one of the places where Junior Barrios (JR Tuned) tunes vehicles, and I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. Dave is a good guy and very knowledgable, and I had a great time talking with him about a wide range of subjects. Brandon installed the AOS and EBCS and did a fine job. The tune I received from Junior is awesome—it really woke my ride up and he opened up plenty under the curve for me—no more fine knock learn, and my daily driver is even more fun to drive than it was before. In short, if you have a Subaru, take it to these guys and you’ll be in great hands. I drove over three hours to Shift Fast, and I’ll be happy to make the trip again. I brought in my 2006 Evolution 9 MR that a previous shop tried building and completely ruined the car. Stew and the guys turned this thing around and brought back hope and potential for it and has been great ever since I got it back. JR tuned it and made right at 800 horsepower with no issues and drives like stock. Best performance shop around for GM and subaru

These guys are the best in the area, they worked on my 06 WRX and I have nothing but good things to say, such great job that even now after I moved 700 miles away from them I seriouly considered taking my second Subie all the way from NJ so they can do my build.But Stewart recommend I go to Prime Motoring which also one of the shops that JR works with and even thought I can no loger take my car to shiftfast, they continue to help me every time I have a question or concerns I know I can reach out to them for help.

Shift Fast is a great shop building some of the fastest cars in Charlotte. JR Junior Barrios tunes with them, and he was able to re-tune my car to gain a full 82 whp more than previous tune. This tune was tested on the track and ran great with no overheating issues at all. They also do great wrenching at a rate you cant beat, plus no service tax in SC! Owner Stewart has always been there for me and shop manager James responds quickly to any question.

I needed somewhere (besides the dealership) to take my Subaru after the warranty expired and had read good reviews about Shift Fast so I gave them a try. The check engine light came on one day so I called and asked when I could get them to look at my car. They said a week from tomorrow so I patiently waited, not know what was wrong with my car, and brought it to them the following week. They told me about their drop box so I could leave my key if I had to drop the car before they opened. When I spoke with them on the phone I gave them the full layout of my situation including the make, model, year, and color of the car and all my information and when I would be bringing it in. I dropped the car off and put my keys in the drop box and waited. I hadnt heard anything before 5 that day so I gave them a call. Turns out they hadnt even thought about looking at it they didnt know anything about the car or why it was there. So I waited two more days, calling at the end of each day to see if any progress was made. I was told each time well call once we look at it and wouldnt provide any kind of timeline as to when that might be. Finally on day three they looked at it and determined it to be a sensor in the catalytic converter. I had to pick my car up for the weekend and had to bring it back the following week so they could finally fix it. Well, it wasnt long until the check engine light was back on. I called to see when I could bring it back and they said it would be 10+ days until they could get to it and advised me to take it elsewhere to have the code read. Sure enough, it was the same code. I called again this time leaving a message, which has not been returned. Apparently they have no interest in making it right. Im sure these guys are great at tuning cars (which is why I didnt give them one star) and they definitely know their stuff but if youre looking for a place to do regular car repairs, I recommend you look elsewhere.

From my first contact with Shift Fast I knew I was going to be taken care of. Stewart spent a good time at night after they closed to diagnose my cars ailments. Even though I told him multiple times to go home and enjoy dinner with his family. After finding the issue with my car, both Stew and James spent countless consultation hours to find the best most cost effective fix for my car. The turn around for the new engine build was so fast, it is unheard of. Now my car is back together and running great. There are a few electrical gremlins that are plaguing the car that are 100% unassociated with the work these guys did, and they have had me in the shop on a moments notice tinkering trying to find the issues, 100% free. Ive used Shift Fast for my Evo since they opened and the quality of the labor, fair prices, and overall attention to detail is simply unsurpassed by any other shop Ive used (and Ive used MANY). I recommend them 5 stars without hesitation.

I definitely have found my new mechanic! The shop really impresses me with great staffs that are very friendly and confident. The thing that I love about it is the owner (Khank) and the technician (Stewart) who explains to me exactly what went wrong with my Lexus and went into detail when I questioned them. The prices are very reasonable but the most important thing is they were very courteous to me, were not at all pressuring me to get the service, and the number ONE thing - my Lexus is fixed and running GREAT!!! I came across this shop via friends almost 4 years ago. Little did I know that Id feel like a part of their family from then on. By far the most humble, down to earth, friendly shop I have ever dealt with. From the start it was simply diagnosing a funny noise on a previous vehicle of mine, that later turned into regular service, dyno runs and exhaust work. Then onto my current vehicle, which I have ONLY they have touched. The guys there helped me go through the entire car and find things the previous owner hid. We went through the bolt-ons stage, which they did very well with. Quoting realistic prices, time of completion and power outcome. They have even offered me to drive their personal vehicle while mine was being serviced! Who does that anymore?! We did full transmission builds, and 2 years later we went through a full engine build. Never have I doubted the quality of workmanship or service this shop provides. From start to finish I was always comfortable leaving my vehicle in their hands. As I move onto my next vehicle in the near future, I cant wait to see what the masterminds at ShiftFast Motorsports can come up with next. I have found my shop for life. I was very nervous about getting my car tuned after the new setup but after doing research it seemed pretty clear. They did an awesome job and made me feel at home.

This is absolutely the worst place you could take your car completely unprofessional and doesnt have a clue what they are doing save yourself a lot of time and money and go somewhere else. In response to the lies below most places do a 93 tune and a race gas tune thats what you were paid to do. I asked these morons to vent the valve cover before doing any tuning they claim they cant weld magnesium Only an idiot would even consider doing that . Theres a huge thread on evom showing how to vent it without any welding at all I asked them to read it.... We all know how that ended dont we....... Threats of violence? Please .... You realize I can sue you for lying its called libel?

I literally cant say enough good things about these guys. They can be queued up pretty heavily on dyno time because JR is the best of the best so make an appointment and plan ahead if possible. But its just another testament to the great customer service and workmanship, everyone wants their work done here and thats why theres a wait. My vehicle went down unexpectedly so I had to jump in line. James tolerated my 1,000 questions and walked me through every step of the work they did to my 2008 STi with constant updates. Every time I put my foot down I cant stop smiling. You simply cannot go wrong with Shift Fast, thanks guys!

If you need your car tuned they have the best tuner in the world with JRTUNED who comes out to personally make sure you get the best tune money can buy. Shift Fast is the only shop in the area to consider when you want to go fast.

Totally love this Shop, So giving Shift fast a 10 for the Best Customer Service, great people, amazing job, fast on repairs, and high quality of work... Before the moment I was going to tow my car to Shift Fast Motorsport, I call them and they say before I tow it and waste money, they offer me to see if it was ok for them to come and see what the problem is before towing. Wow thats what i call excellent service :), Like common what other shops would do that? definitely not other shops, and dealerships... BTW as far as figuring out what the problem is, you guys (Shift Fast) managed to find out what the problem was right away and start the very next day on it...Your price was way less than the other quote Ive got before. Which is VERY good!... Save a lot of money- thank youI could go on and on but I dont want to obligate you guys to the excellent service you gave me. All I can say is that Im a Satisfy customer...
