Great experience with my pedicure! The difference the right tech makes.... So being a man, it seems like many nail salons see me and give me less service than what I both request and pay for. This was the best pedicure Ive had outside a resort spa. My technician did everything including (for the first time ever) cleaning my feet with a soft brush, AFTER, trimming and filing. Kaitlyn is AMAZING. I’ve been going to her for weeks for acrylics and she’s great at helping me find the exact color I want. The place is very clean and calming even when busy.I had to dock a star just because there have been times I’ve had my appointment at a certain time and I’ve had to wait 10-20 minutes because they were finishing up with someone else. Not always their fault but it can be frustrating at times if I have something to do afterwards. But the nails turn out amazing so I don’t mind the wait!

So I have been watching their page since I got to Michigan and they do beautiful work, but when I went I asked for a manicure with dip & pedicure. I did not get a manicure. It took like 3 to 4 hours to be done. The cost was insane $73. And I tipped each technician $10 each. Never will I go there again.

Vu is the only manicurist I go to at this salon for last two years. He is just the best!I don’t have good experiences with other technicians. New management is better, place is clean and decently priced.

I love this place, been going here for a while and their dipping is amazing. All the techs are amazing. The place is very clean since the new owners take over, seem less hectic. Only reason I give it a 4 stars is because some of the techs speak in their languages way too much or the entire time to each other while doing my nails. Other than that, service n nails are great!

I will never set foot in this business again. I went in with my mom and best friend for mani/pedis for my wedding. We had an appointment, but clearly they were just squeezing us in and we had to wait. It was hands down the worst pedicure Ive ever had. My 4 year old niece could have done a better job. The man cut my toenails extremely short, filed one of them on an angle, and the polish didnt even reach the end of my nail. It was so bad I removed the polish as soon as I got home. My nail dip was okay for the first two days, then the top coat on every nail started chipping off and they didnt look very good for my wedding. I would have complained while I was there, but right after he was done, another customer dropped and broke a bottle of bright red nail polish at the drying station and it went all over my friend. It was all over her outfit, on her purse, in her wedding ring, and ruined her nails. I could not believe how the manager treated us. She tried her best to ignore us and brushed us off until she realized we werent leaving until she spoke with us. She literally said, its not my fault, still made my friend pay, and refused to redo her nails. Her entire outfit was ruined, she had to have her nails redone, and have her engagement ring and wedding band professionally cleaned. My mom called the manager when we got home and asked to speak to the owner. The manager told her the owner was out of town and that theyd need to contact their lawyer. (What?!) It took the owner over two weeks to get back in touch with us. She finally, very reluctantly, agreed to give my friend $100, which wasnt even close to the amount of damage that was caused by their poorly located nail polish displays, which are right over the drying station on a marble counter, where people are sitting.

In my quest to find a good nail salon in Rochester Hills, I did my research and visited every salon. I was looking for cleanliness, sanitation, and kindness as well. I really wanted to work with each and every person there. They were all polite, respectful and kind. However, I wasn’t ready to allow anybody to work on my toes yet ☹. You need to trust that the person working on your toes will treat you kindly and like they treat a family .Today, I got the pleasure of meeting Cindy, and I didn’t know that she is the manager. She was fast, efficient, and so caring. I think I am ready now to recommend this place to my family and friend. Go there, and feel so cared for and respected, and most of all feel good about yourself.P.S. don’t forget to stop by the parrot and his mom. He comes with his mom to work all day and love to be around people. I love this place ❤

I’m never disappointed when I come here, salon have been much cleaner since they’ve taken over and you feel there is more space to breathe in. My dips always last 3+weeks. I LOVE THIS PLACE! DONT let the bad reviews scare you away! They are prob the one that’s always not happy no matter what :)

I really hate to be writing this review. I loved this salon and I went there off and on for over a year. Until recently I went in for a pedicure. Everything went great as normal. A few days later I developed a horrible rash and foot pain. So bad, I couldn’t walk and had to go to urgent care. They acknowledged it was some type of bacterial infection and suggested I follow up with my doctor right away. The next day I went to see him and immediately upon seeing my foot he asked “have you had a pedicure recently?” . He confirmed it was cellulitis and put me on an antibiotic. I missed nearly a week of work since I couldn’t walk. It was a horrible experience. Again, their service was great but sanitation needs to be addressed.

I have really good experiences when I come here. It’s a go to place, all the staffs are super friendly. They offer you waters and have a tv in the back while getting a pedicure!

LEAVING ME SIT THERE, until I got up and left after two hours without my nails complete.It’s a shame they have no respect for their customers .After I left, I went to a very lovely place across the street by the Kroger “s . The atmosphere was much more relaxing and enjoyable. They took me right in and did a great job . My new place by Kroger’s was very grateful for me being there .

I came here when I was visiting my son at college last week. I had a pedicure and had dip done on my hands. The pedi was one of the worst I have ever had. While the staff was nice I was very disappointed. I didn’t realize how bad it was till that evening when all the lotion and everything had worn off. My feet were left peeling all on the edges and while he used a foot file he only got the bottoms or certain portions. The rest was hard peeling edges afterwards. I really only gave it a 2 star because nails looked nice. Wouldn’t recommend.

HIIIII DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! i waited for 3 hours straight and didn’t even get my nails done. i got my nails soaked and that was all i got in three hours. i had four different people in the two hours i was actually seated in my chair and only got soaked. didn’t pay anything and will never return. thanks for not helping me i hope u all have a good time at your soccer game or whatever your lame excuse was for being so unorganized!!!!!

Thuy did my nails last week, it was amazing. I had a Fullset. I’m very please with the service, she’s friendly and speak English well and held onto a conversation with me. This is going to be my new place 💅🏼

I come here every couple weeks for a shellac mani and I see either Katelyn or Vu. They make me feel welcome and my nails always look great!

I came to Obsession Nail and Spa for a nail dip. My technician, Lee, rushed to complete the job. When I informed her that my nails were not shiny, she said to put cuticle oil on them and wash my hands. This did not work. Further, when I went to the register to pay my bill I noticed the dipping powder was on my skin. I informed the receptionist who stated that they would address the problem. Lee attempted to remove the dip by picking at my skin with her nails and filing my skin. I left exasperated and bloodied. I decided to call Obsession once I got home. I was told a manager would reach out. I never received a return call. This experience was the epitome of incompetence and unprofessionalism.

If I could give them zero stars I would. This place is terrible since the new owners took over. They raised prices but do not deliver. They were my favorite place before but now after the new owner I do not want to step foot near obsession. Didn’t even have time to pick out a color and they were pushing me into a chair. I left with my nail beds bleeding and nails cut way too short even though I said to keep them long. One of my nails was not painted all the way and the woman refused to fix it because that’s just how it was supposed to be. When I kept asking to fix it she just filed the nail down even further. She continuously slapped my hand telling me to relax it (which made it very difficult for me to relax). I could’ve done a better job on my nails. There is nail polish all over my fingers and looks like she did them with her eyes closed. Please do not waste your time or money here. I never leave reviews but I don’t want any one to waste their money here like I did. Saying this place has gone downhill is an understatement it’s all the way underground now.

I used to love to get a pedi/mani at Obsession. Now that the new owner has taken over it is awful! They get you in and out as fast as possible. There is no “spa” feel to it anymore. They use electric rotating tools instead of carefully trimming your cuticles. My cuticles were bleeding! I told the nail tech that it hurt and she said that I was just sensitive. They talked me into the dip instead of shellac and it faded and was splotchy within a couple of days. After all of that the prices have increased significantly. I am very disappointed in the change. I also miss the parrot! Polly want a good pedicure!!

Never again. The establishment is unclean, and unfriendly. Three times Ive been to this company because its convenient how close it is to my house. Each time Ive gone in, Ive felt uncomfortable. No one in the business knows how to talk and be friendly. Especially the woman who I believe to be is the owner. When ever Ive come in for a service, she is always standing behind the receptionist. She has never spoken or looked directly at me, but has always come up and reached for my hand to examine it, and yell something to her employees in another language. On one hand, I dont know if she knows how to speak English, but on the other if youre going to run a business, you need to know how to talk to your customers. The place has always seemed unclean, but this last visit was the last straw. I had gotten a french manicure from somewhere else and wanted it taken off. The nail technician did not try to soak them off, instead she used a fake acrylic nail to dig under my manicure to break the seal so she could rip it off. It hurt and damaged my nails, but I didnt complain because I felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave as quickly as possible. After she was done, she put that SAME fake nail that she USED to DIG under MY manicure BACK in the box!!!! I was so surprised that I left without saying anything, now I regret not saying anything.

Do NOT go here!! Terrible experience. Did dip powder that is supposed to last 3 weeks. The nail tech did an odd top coat that wasn’t dip and the top coat peeled off the very next day. I couldn’t come back until the next week. They have a sign at the front entrance that states they guarantee their dip and shellac manicures for 2 weeks (meaning free repairs). The same nail tech treated me like a criminal and like it was my fault that she did a poor job. They did not back their “guarantee” and wanted to charge me for a repair. Such a bad experience. Don’t guarantee something if you won’t back it, especially after spending $50 on something that should last.

I love the fact that they use liners for their pedi! Not a lot of places do that in Rochester. It help me bc I’m OCD and annul about things like that. They sterilize all their tools and that’s a plus!

I’ve been going to Obsession for years and today was my last time there as a customer. I had my nails done by Katelyn who was very rude to me. She strongly suggested I pick a different color other than what I requested and after I pushed to get what I wanted she was mocking me to her coworkers. I was embarrassed and couldn’t wait to get out of there. It’s sad that the owner of a nail salon could be so disrespectful to a long time client

Obsession used to be good and shellac would last 2-3 weeks. Now it doesnt even last 1 week. I think they got mostly all new employees and are terrible now. They are always rude, they dont know how to actually paint on shellac. They should know if it gets on your skin then the shellac will lift. Its happened the last 3-4 times Ive gone there and I always try to give them the benefit of the doubt.One time I was there and one nail tech sat and told her customer how bad they have gotten and how bad all the new employees were. She was also talking about quitting because it had gotten so bad.If their own employees think they do poor work its a sign. DO NOT GO HERE.

I got pink and white with tips added, my nail tech was Lee she used dip powder and rushed the whole time. No two nails are the same, the clear coat isn’t even all the way on my nails, my nails were left messy and lumpy as well. This is the worst nail experience I’ve ever had.I also got a deluxe pedicure which was amazing and not rushed, but was also done by someone else. I used to see Jimmy who did amazing with my nails and never rushed, I always left happy. I am a fan of good work but this was the worst worst worst experience and I will not be back.

If im going to pay 100 dollars I expect my nails and toes to be done well. My 3rd time coming with my daughter the nail tech did a poor job on her toes and messed them up by putting her shoes on too early then went over the smeared 2 toes. I went and told them to fix them luckily a better technician fixed them. If you dont pride in your work maybe this isnt the field to be in. I make sure all my clients leave feeling like the best and always making sure each client is satisfied. The toes were fixed thank you.

I should have read the reviews before I went. I also had issues with Lee being rude. She was super short with me and got really mad at me for no reason. I have been treated like this before, by an angry ex-boyfriend, not a nail tech! I got acrylics and they were not even worth the horrible hour and a half I had to put up with her yelling at me for not having my hands in the right position.I dont mind people speaking other languages around me, just be nice to me! I hope this place learns their customer service sucks.Maybe the other techs are polite. I guess if you chance this place and get Lee, RUN!

My girls and I have been coming here for over 6 years because of the clean facility and friendly techs and management. But now with the new owners, the last few experiences have been awful between poor customer service by the management and rushed services with return visits for poor quality of the products. Sorry John, Vu and Uma we will miss you but can not give our business to this new owner.

I’m sitting here at obsession nails in Rochester! And they just hired the best new nail technician last week! Her name is Tammy! She is the sweetest most charismatic woman I’ve ever had the pleasure of giving me a pedicure. This was my first day off in forever and I usually don’t come here but I was desperate for some good pampering. After working 60 hours a week for the past month it was definitely time to come in. Not only did she carry on a great conversation, but also made me feel like the most important girl in the world. She was polite and very professional! I struggle from really bad ingrown toenails from being a professional dancer for years. Ive never had anyone cut them so perfectly so it doesn’t hurt, in seriously like 10 years! From the beginning to the end I feel like I just grew a new pair of feet with the most beautiful nail color ever! The Salond labeled the nail color I wanted completely wrong in the samples they have in front of the desk in a messy box of colors. So she said trust me, tell me what it want and I’ll find it! She picked out the perfect color! I love it even more then the one I originally picked out. From here on out, I will be coming here just to see her and have her do my nails! She has is the best addition to their staff they’ve had in years! Everyone should request her because you won’t be disappointed! I seriously can’t thank her enough for the amazing pedicure she gave me! For some reason they wouldn’t let her do my manicure today too unless it was by request when I originally made my appointment. So next time I’ll make sure to request her to do my full appointment because she is the best! I really look forward to seeing her next time! This place really needs more women like her!!!

I have been coming to Obsession for years and now they have new owners. Unfortunately, it’s not the same. I had the worse shellac manicure last week. The technician did such a poor job that my nails looked like they’ve been growing out for a week before I left the place. So disappointing. Guess it’s time to find a new salon.

It was okay. Definitely not my best experience at a nail salon. Not to mention, I left there with multiple nails bleeding under the skin bc she clipped my cuticles poorly. I will not be returning.

I had moved into the area and have been going there for about 4 months now. The first lady that I got with said she didnt do designs so I waited for the next person. I sat down with the new person and then she tried to argue with me about how shellac was better for my nails. Now, yes shellac is better for your nails, but, I have an acrylic overlay so it doesnt matter about the polish. What I wanted was specific and money was not an issue. She then proceeded to tell me that I should do shellac. I didnt want shellac and wonder why they would ask me over 4 times if I wanted shellac. Its not what I wanted. I didnt change my mind the first time why would I change it the 4th? Horrible customer service. The worst in the industry. I also have a license in nails so I do know what is what. I dont recommend going there ever!!!!!

This is the only nail salon I will go to in Rochester! The manager, Haley is very knowledgeable and friendly. The salon is kept clean and organized. (They use sterilized tools every time from a sealed package before using it on you). Additionally, no one smells like smoke or is smoking by the front or back of salon like other local nail places.I only do the gel nails and pedicures. Unlike other places that damage your nail with using a drummel to get old gel off, they take their time and gently soak it off with a small cotton square and foil before applying the new gel application. My nails have remained super healthy!Tip: Call ahead for an appointment! I always call ahead to get the same girl because they do book up fast.

IF you can get in, they do good work. That is why I gave them two stars instead of one.Why only one star? I have visited/attempted to visit 4-5 times since they opened, however every time I have set foot in this establishment, it has been packed but the owner or manager is condescending and dismissive as though I am somehow interrupting her day. This seems counterintuitive for a business operating only on the patronage of customers.

This was honestly the worst experience I have ever had getting a fill. I acknowledge that there are many employees at this location. So In fairness perhaps it was just this particular employee that made the experience awful and not the facility as a whole. Im fairly certain she was on some sort of drug. She was shaking and dropping things off of her table as she worked on my hands. She had orange colored hair with orange drawn on eyebrows. I told her that I had had my nails done at another salon and just wanted to fill them in but did not want to change the style. I also told her that I wanted them cut back because they were too long. She comes back with powder and I asked her if it had Sparkle to it to match what I already had. She said yes. It did not which I did not realize until after she had already put it on my hands. I also had one nail that was cracked. She didnt even realize it was split all the way through. I was waiting for her to file it down and fix it and instead she ignored it and started to try to paint gel on top of it. I told her that will just break it is split all the way through and she said fine Ill make it thicker. She never filed it at all. So I have one very thick now and the rest are so thin Im waiting for them to break. I also had coffin tips, shes scared them and cut them too short to fix it. I also had to remind her to take them down a little bit because she was going to leave them as they were. After filing them down too short and making them Square when they had been coffin, several of them were so obviously crooked I had to ask her to fix them. Im not confrontational in that regard so it felt uncomfortable to have to continuously ask her to do her job correctly. Im not even a picky patryn normally. During this whole process she seemed on edge and nervous prior to me even asking her to fix anything the first time. She dropped her nail brush, the lid to the acrylic powder, and a tip to her Dremel. At this point I was just looking forward to leaving I was frustrated uncomfortable and embarrassed. I had called in advance and was told to fill cost $20 unless I was adding shellac or getting any special form of shaping none of which happened. I get to the front and she says to charge me $26. $26??? After not only do you not do what you had said you were going to with the color, incorrectly shaped my nails into squares, left them horribly crooked, and created a disastrous and uncomfortable experience for me you are going to charge me more than I was quoted? I paid and walked out the door very upset. I normally go to the Lake Orion Le Nails. I see Antonne there. Never again will I make the mistake to go to the salon and risk having a nail technician this terrible work on my hands. I walked in the door expecting a good experience because its so pretty inside, and left having the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon.

I went here for 2 years. The first thing I always noticed was how dusty everything was. Over two years the quality of my mani/pedis went down significantly. The help is usually rude, stuck up, and entitled acting (if you want to get the Rochester treatment). Their polish chips in one day. The last time I went they left me sitting in the pedicure chair for 30 minutes when I had an appointment. Finally Tammy came over to save me and gave me the best pedicure I’ve had in the 2 years I went here. They didn’t even let her finish me up, they bumped her over (which was rude), and the oldest lady did my paint and manicure. Which was not good. She filed uneven, cut me and I was bleeding, and did not cover my whole nail with the polish. On top of it all they don’t know I can mostly understand Vietnamise, and they were talking about their customers for about 30 minutes. Tammy is the only good thing about that place...too bad I’m never going back.

I took my daughter here to have her nails done. They were rude upon arrival. They tried to talk her out of getting acrylics, which is what she wanted. She was finished in about 30min. Within a week they started to break and chip. This is the poorest quality job I have ever seen by any salon. Poor Service, poor product, poor results.

This is the WORST salon I have ever been to. I came to get my eyebrows threaded and the lady did a HORRIBLE job. She literally ruined my brows and took off too much hair. She thinks she is very smart and knows what to do but she has NO IDEA. DO NOT EVER COME HERE

Not so great. I would look elsewhere. My daughter and I went for side by side mani/pedis. Her nail tech went so quickly with no interaction and shoddy work. My daughter was done with BOTH services before my pedi was complete. The nail tech grabbed her coat and left to pick someone up as we later learned. It ruined our experience. And the work was poorly done. Choose your nail tech wisely! Also the techs seem to be counseled to ask repeatedly if you want shellac instead of a regular service. After the 4th request this was very annoying!

Even when having an appointment, I still had to wait almost 15 minutes. Not good customer service. Woman at desk was rude and had an attitude. The place was dusty, cans of air freshener sitting on the floor and messy counters. Chairs looked filthy and awful smell. I left and didn’t have any services there. I will go back to my clean, Aveda spa salon.

I always feel very uncomfortable here. Services are rushed. My nails are always uneven. My gel polish chipped on my acrylics....i’ve never had that happen in the 3 straight years i’ve done acrylics. it’s always very busy which is fine but this place is so tiny and crammed together and i’m always claustrophobic when i’m there. also they will charge you $5 to FILE YOUR NAILS......something that should be built into the service charge. going to have my nails fixed and not returning.

I have been going to this nail salon for a very long time. But, because of bad experience with my last 2 appts., I will not being going back. My last scheduled pedicure, they left me sitting with my feet soaking in in the tub for 45 mins. Hot water had to be added twice before I eventually received my pedicure. This time my pedicure only started 15 mins. late, but sat 40 mins with my nails wrapped in acetone, before receiving my manicure. Having said nothing last time, I felt the need to tell Hailey that she is obviously overbooking. She then proceeded to argue with me that she was not. I stated, I was not going to argue with her, and the fact was, I had a 2:00 appt. and it was going on 4 and hadn’t even begun my mani. Needless to say, my shellac was rushed and am still trying to get all the gel left on my cuticles off. A very poorly managed business with overworked technicians.

I get my gel mani here every 2 weeks. it always lasts the whole time for me, and the only reason i dont wait 3 weeks is because it starts to grow out. it almost never chips. they really do an amazing job here! i dont go to anyone in particular, although heidi is particularily meticulous. all of their staff does a nice job. they are flexible, and can usually get me in with a few hours notice. the owners are very nice people, and they run a fantastic business.

Cute salon and they did a decent job. My issue was with hygiene practices. Mid mani, another tech took over for the tech that was working on my nails. I watched in horror as the tech who took over my mani started right in on my nails, coming straight from working on a pedi, WITHOUT changing her gloves. Ew!

I went to this nail salon expecting an awesome experience. The reviews were great and a friend of mine also suggested them so I thought I would give it a try even though it was about 25 minutes away from my house. I called that morning to ask if I needed to make an appointment, the lady on the phone told me no. Walk ins only then hung up. So me and my mom drove 20 minutes to this nail salon expecting them to get us right in since the lady told me they didnt take appointments, when we got there it was very busy so we signed in and picked out nail colors and waited. We waited TWO HOURS TWO HOURS to get a normal manicure that took 20 minutes. Other people came in and said they had an appointment so I dont know why I was not told to make one by the lady on the phone. To top off my bad experience the lady doing my nails dropped the top coat polish brush on my ugg boots which obviously stained them(I tried to get it off for a half hour). I dont like writing rude reviews because everyone here was very nice but I did not appreciate my visit and having to wait 2 hours or getting my $160 shoes ruined.

Super Friendly staff and very talented technicians! Pretty busy place it helps to book an appointment.

My nails looked ok but started chipping the next day. Two days later I had to remove all my polish because it looked so bad. What a waste of $50. The experience isnt relaxing either
