We subscribe to 3 services: weed control and fertilization of lawn; fertilization of trees & shrubs; mosquito control. We are happy with all the services. Our yard looks great. Would definitely recommend.

I was pretty happy with them until crab grass started popping up after one of their treatments. Theyve come out twice to treat it since then. My neighbor uses Clover and theyve been out once. See picture... True green on the left after two treatments specific for crabgrass, Clover on the right after one... This picture is literally two feet away so maybe next year I go with Clover.Update: after coming back several times to treat my crabgrass, which is what I called about, I confirmed that they were applying grub killer which is why the crabgrass was still growing uncontrollably. They treated the crabgrass finally (but for some reason not in the lawn between the street and sidewalk) and where they treated it eventually died. Problem being it spread so much my lawn looks horrible. I added a second photo of my lawn.AND this has nothing to do with the lawn but I have a fenced in backyard and two dogs. I have a ring video where TruGreen walks to the back to do a treatment and legitimately.opens the gate and lets my dogs out. Thank God I dont live on a busy street and my dogs just ran wild for a few minutes until my wife could chase them down with the help of a neighbor but it shows such a lack of awareness by their employees its no wonder they kept coming back and applying the wrong product.Changing this to a 1 star review. Id give it 0 if I could. I want my money back.I added a photo

I never signed up for pre-pay but they ended up billing my account for the whole season. They haven’t been out to my house in two months and every time I call I am told they’ll be at my house on a certain date and they don’t show up and then when I call back they’re telling me my appointments not for two weeks. The people at the call center don’t know what they’re doing

The quality of the service- equipment appears in great condition. The tech was very willing to answer my questions and very courteous. Nestor C. did a great job. I encouraged him to lay his ramp at the end of my driveway to make it easier for him to lower his equipment.

They never ever put the date and time on the signs they put in your yard. Then your lawn mowing company comes and does not mow because they dont know when fertilizer was applied. Do not try to call and ask because they wont have a clue what youre even talking about

I have never been more disappointed in a company in my entire life. They do not do what they say, after having my lawn for 23 years less than two years with them I got major grub damage two years in a row. Had to call them multiple times to come repair the damage after they promised to do so last fall, and never showed until I petered them multiple times. When they did show they put down Mulch on top of my bare spots and tossed seed on top of it. Not one seed had any ground contact and it was only done on 1/3 of the damaged area. This company is a total embarrassment to the lawn care industry and firing them today has made my entire year I am that unhappy with them. They are all marketing. BTW - I had their max treatment which was 7x per year and I have so many weeds its incredible. They cant even keep dandelions from emerging they are that poor.

I have used another lawn care for years and have been very happy. TruGreen has aggressively canvassed my neighborhood for new customers recently but I never interacted with them, nor did they leave any sales literature at my home. Imagine my surprise when I came home today to find that they had performed the first application of the season on my lawn today. As horrible as their reputation is, they have outdone themselves this time. Read the reviews and stay away from this company.

I never actually received service. They were quick to sign me up with the works, but after a month and 4 rescheduled service appointments, I decided it wasn’t a good sign of the “service” to come. I won’t use these guys again. Should’ve gone local in the first place. Lesson learned.

I am not yet sure about the quality of service yet, however the call center/Answering Service for this company is horrific. The amount of time I spent calling back and speaking to people was ridiculous compared to the amount of time it took to sign up which I almost didnt because of it. They were unprofessional, couldnt find my quote information each time, couldnt speak to the services, one person said the system was down and never called me back, and the last person was to occupied by her screaming family in the background to listen to me. I had to repeat everything more than 5 times and repeat spelling of many very self explanatory words. She was however very nice I will give her that. Despite the nightmare answering service, I am hoping that we get satisfactory lawn care. I will be here if we dont!

When we started service we only had the lawn sprayed. When we received the bill other services like bushes and trees were added to the bill that we did not order. After 1 year the lawn looked worse than before they started, so I paid up on bill until the end of August and then cancelled the service. Late fall TruGreen applied another lawn spray when we were not home. I called them up and there was nothing in the system about the cancelled services, even after 2 calls from the management team to our home concerned about us canceling. I just get home from work today, to find yet another treatment was done on my lawn! I called customer service and the representative confirmed that there were notes in the system to cancel services but no one actually put the cancelation through. So folks if you like this sort of nonsense to have to deal with then do business with trugreen! If you are smart you will run the other way no matter what discount you are offered. Sorry but true!

Had Lawn Dog and loved them. Our yard looked green and healthy. Then LD was bought by One Step Tree and Lawn Care and they too did a good job. But then OST&LC was bought by TruGreen and every year since our Lawn has got worse... to the point of large bare spots. Their so-called experts looked at it and said nothing was wrong. So this year I quit them and hired another national service. But before they even came out, TruGreen -- without a new agreement, applied a first treatment. When I called they said my original agreement implied an automatic renewal. BS, because I even responded to their constant emails to pre-pay stating I wished to cancel. Their answer... those emails are automated and no one gets the replies. Needless to say, I told them to unequivocally cancel ANY and ALL agreements and to never show up again.

I followed the instructions left on my door after each treatment, and after having had all but one treatment, my yard looks horrible! I would NOT recommend this company! Horrible customer service.

Their service was OK, but this year (2021) they were very unresponsive. The call center was extremely busy and the live chat app was backed up 21 people. They missed the first treatment and never contacted me about that and I was told it would be two weeks until they could get here. No explanation other than that they are busy. I prepaid for the season and cancelled my account.

Not very impressed as of yet. They came to spray my tree, Were only able to spray up maybe 20 feet (bottom 1/3rd) You would expect a company of that size to have the tools to do thier job properly.Now lets get to thier 2nd visit to access my lawn issues and spray. They were able to spray ok. But, when it came to my issues I was told I have weeds and the spray would kill them. (no kidding !) The issues I was concerned about grass being dead and why it was dead and what to do about it was not addressed.

I was switched to TruGreen when they purchased One Step; the service quality immediately plummeted to an unacceptable level. One tree/shrub technician rang our doorbell and asked What am I supposed to do here? I just called to cancel all services for 2021 and it was like calling a cable company - the phone rep kept offering discounts and wouldnt accept my request to cancel until I repeatedly argued with him. Terrible customer service.

Like many of the reviews I see here, wed been One Step customers for several years and were happy with the service. Once they sold to TruGreen, things went downhill. I just called to cancel and felt like I was dealing with the worlds shadiest used car salesmen. I had to reiterate that I was sticking by my decision to cancel at least 5 or 6 times before he finally gave up.

Prepaid for lawn care service for the 2020 season. When we signed up under One Step we had no issues until they were bought out by TruGreen. Our lawn is the worst it has ever been. Called 4 times last week and spoke to 4 different people...keep getting told a manager will call me and have to keep giving them the details of all the problems. They do not communicate internally. They have the worst customer service and do NOT care about the customer. The last guy I spoke to this past Friday sounded like he was on drugs or was drunk and kept coughing in my ear and never apologized...he just wanted to argue with me. Requested a manager to call me and gave them a date to call me...we shall see what happens!!! Our neighbors who are using the same company are having the same lawn care issues we are. All the neighbors around us not using a lawncare service, lawns looks better than our lawns! All this company wants is your money!

Do not use TruGreen. I have been waiting for 3+ months for my next application. Paid for 7 upfront and have only received 3 treatments for the entire year. Last one was June 22. Have been on the phone with multiple representatives to correct the issue over the past month. Nothing has changed. Repeat: Do not use this company. They are pathetic.

We previously used perennial green and had a beautiful lawn. He sold out to Tru Green and the lawn has never looked worse. We have made several calls and theyre great about promising to rectify the situation but promise to take care of it and NEVER deliver......Sorry we got stuck with them and will look for someone else next year! They emailed me that they did my lawn service. I called to ask when they did it since my Mom is always home and the day they were scheduled to do it, was the day we came home from our vacation, so we are all home and we sure did not see anybody came.They claimed they completed service at 1:00 pm. scheduled day which is a Monday. WE HAVE CAMERAS all over our house. Per camera, we arrived at 12:00 nn. that day. My husband finished unloading the car around 12:53 pm. If they finished at 1:00 pm, my husband and I sure had seen them since we were still in our open garage organizing our camping gears.No recordings whatsoever on the camera, mind you our camera is so sensitive that it capture every car that passes by our house. There are 2 cameras in the front too.No signs on the lawn and no paper work left anywhere as well. STILL waiting on the manager to call me back on these matter!

Was charged $203. My bill was $138. Was charged for a service i did not get. they treated for grubs after telling me i did not have any which added another $63. charged for 3 treatments only received 2. local office says bill was over $300, bill in mail says $138 and corporates said $203. They charge what they want claiming past bills were never paid even though i had copies of checks cashed. If someone did not pay why would you still keep coming out? Customer service is awful. will never use again.

I worked at Trugreen. I got injured three months ago on the job, and they denied my claim. They havent helped me with medical. No wages or care. Now my wrist is in more pain from a torn ligament, and the muscle is gone. And they took me to court. Send employees too much work, and give them poor equipment that injures them. Dont use them. Plus they pollute your lawns with chemicals.

Absolutely Pathetic.My lawn looks worse now then when I wasn’t using anything on it.From the first application it was burned, Weeds and crabgrass continue to thrive. I have called and expressed my concerns (Over 5X) only to have someone not local get back to me within 24 to 48 hours. They call back (I think it was them), I can’t answer due to meetings or on the road. No message left. They came last Saturday and gave me a FREE treatment that must have included staining my freshly sealed driveway, yesterday when I get home from work there is a tech spraying my lawn again. I told him to stop and go away.Look at Facebook under Webster NY Neighbors and Webster NY Where Life Is Worth Living and you will see over 100 complaints all similar to mine.BBB is my next stop if I don’t receive a refund.

Used the mosquito treatment. Dont know if it works cause they came out and sprayed right before it rained. Also only treated half the yard. How could a mosquito treatment ever work if you only do half.of my property? They claim that I was not quoted enough to have my whole yard treated. After that was sorted out......10 days later still no re application done. I just canceled the service and had to plead my case to get a full refund. I wont pay for a service that was done half way with zero results! Should of just called Mosquito Joe! Stay away. Zero confidence in this company.

I called to obtain quotes for my lawn for pest control and the rep was extremely informative, but became very belligerent when I told him I needed to think on the prices and services. He kept trying to sell it hard and I told him I still needed to think about it. The rep hung up on me. Looks like I won’t be using this service at all or ever. I work in customer service and if I was the customer service manager - I would be taking a hard look at how reps treat potential clients as that would be utterly unacceptable to treat customers in such a manner. Poor value all around.

Was charged $156.20 for fertilizer and grub applications. I was never told I would’ve been charged for both. So I cancelled my last few applications and will not go back to Truegreen again. I should have been given the option to get both or not. I could have gone to Lowe’s or Home Depot and purchased a bag with both in it for $45. Lost another customer.

TruGreen bought out the company I was using for lawn treatment and loved.TrruGreen missed my summer treatment.That missed treatment caused part of my front yard to almost die.When I called in September the girl apologized and said my next application would be free.. When they called me to let me know when they were coming, I said, its free rightThey said no, its your normal charge. I told them to forget it and cancel the services.I was hounded by them on numerous occasions about not cancelling, why I was cancelling etc. Bigger us not always better.The old company had my lawn looking great and worked with me. Hopefully the new company, (not Tru Green), will be as good.

Last year spring 2019. I called to have a lawn treatment done. I called the local number some guy answered and I said I only wanted 3 weed and feed treatments. He said they had a special for a full treatment for about the same money. I said OK. The I was told the discount price was about to expire and had to pay now by debit card to get the discount. I only need 60% of an acre treated. $500. I got a receipt 3 weeks later for $460.I also watch the guy put down an application that was supposed to dry before watering. it was a 90% chance of rain and it started when he was applying it. When I called back about these 2 issues the guy that answered said it could have been the other person. The same voice and same numb nuts answered my calls and did the work the whole year.

When Highpoint was purchased by TruGreen I was worried but the first year if service was great. Since then, our lawn has not looked so good. My lawn died...to the roots and it was not grubs. I think they over fertilized and killed the grass.

I have not dealt with Trugreen directly however over the past month I have seen three people spraying in my neighborhood without protective gloves or masks. Its a companies moral obligation to protect their employees especially if they are spraying chemicals. We dont know what effects these chemicals can have long term. I hope something changes for the sake of your employees.

We were One Step customers in Rochester NY for 30 plus years. They sold to TruGreen and before the first season ended, I simply cancelled my service. What a shame to go from One Step who cared and who knew who you were to TruGreen in Rochester whom you can never talk to. Called to advise I had some Lawn rust. The earliest they could do anything was 2 weeks out. They never showed up on the day scheduled and some auto machine left me a vm late Friday night saying they couldnt get to me and that they would reschedule AT THEIR CONVENIENCE. Still waiting for that call. Fast forward a few days and 3-4 phone calls, again to corporate not Rochester as they never pick their phone up locally, I was told a manager would call me back. Never happened. So today, I simply called and cancelled and asked for a refund for my remaining services, which they are doing. I know of 4 others who are doing the same. Previous One Step customers who were forced to trugreen for the summer but wont make that mistake another summer. I also asked to be taken off the contact and mailing list as I never want to hear from them again. Use a local lawn care company that will pick up the phone and not rely on a call center in Jersey or Long Island. Dont make the mistake of using Trugreen for any services at all, you will be sorry.

Terrible results and poor customer service. As of Aug 11 have had 3 retreats this season (which take 2-3 weeks from the treatment to actually occur in NY due to notice requirements of 1 week so Im told) to target excessive weeds and crabgrass, yet nothing (and I mean nothing) is dying even though I have been extremely detailed in my descriptions multiple times as the the extent and location of the weeds and crabgrass. Attempts to elevate my concerns to Mgmt go nowhere - the customer service rep sends a message to my local office requesting a call back and says thats all they can do, and I have also requested a walk through of my property to specifically point out the problems, but no call ever comes. I have requested a 4th retreat and the Mgmt walk through and am still waiting for a call back 11 days later.

Tech sprayed our lawn in error. If it were not for my neighbors witnessing this I wouldnt have known to keep dogs off the grass. My dogs ruined my screens because a stranger was on the yard.Iwas assured we would be compensated but after an estimate was sent they have gone silent.

Would not recommend. The treatment left many spots where I had grass dead, the treatments did not kill all the weeds, and, when they applied grass seed, they put the seed through the garden as well, where we do not want any grass. Bad experience. In answer to the response, you did not aerate the whole lawn but you seeded all the garden so we will have grass in the flowers. No interest in any further help, thank you.

Although he started out very helpful, he has added researching lawn issues and idiosyncrasies to his repertoire of services and has even gone to the extent recently to pick up downed branches since I find it difficult to do so with my back problems. Kyrrie is amazing. He came back and treated my lawn for ground ivy when the first application didn’t get rid of it. He also said he would come back to get rid of the clover. This is the second time I have used TruGreen. The first time I cancelled because of poor service but I decided to give them a second chance. I am glad I did.

My lawn has never looked this bad except when I moved in 18 years ago. I wish I could post pictures and a video I made of what my back lawn looks like. I spoke to someone at the company and they sent a guy out to treat the lawn again for weeds for the 4th time within a couple months time. He came when it was pouring rain so Im pretty sure that didnt help. In the beginning of the season I just needed regular maintenance. I had a beautiful lawn. You could walk through it bare foot. Now it is out of control with weeds and prickers like they never came at all. Im disgusted. I spoke to someone again about it at the company, wrote two e-mails and then spoke to someone again about having a supervisor come out to look and no response by phone or e-mail. Customer service is terrible. Im pretty understanding and laid back but when you get no response from the company with repeated tries that says how much they care about business. Im done with them. Now not only did I lose the money Ive already paid them but now it will cost extra, Im sure, to get the lawn back to the way it was before this season.

They then call me to renew and they say if I renew they will look into my concerns, but no guarantee. I said, I’ll only review if you first address the previous concern I have. The sales rep then hung up on me. Service is poor and customer service is based out of a long-distance call center, you are not allowed to talk to a local person.

I prepaid in 2017 for a year of service. Received no documentation in what I was singing up for. They have an online login to customer portals but no documentation on policies, so I went on the word of the salesperson. I was told all services are guaranteed.I was advised to use the website to keep track of my bills and my remaining services.After 2 services, I called about not seeing much of a change. I was told to give it more time. After 2 more services I was told to wait until after winter. So I did. After the winter, and some more services I called and was told they would send someone by. This is when conveniently, my year was up, I was auto renewed and had to pay again. $387.93 for 2 services. All while my prepay of a certain number of services was never depleted.Why am i prepaying for a set number of services when I dont get them all?How can anything be a guarantee when Im paying for every single service call?I never received any documentation about auto renewals, I never received any policy documentation. I was told to use the website. Website doesnt have any of the documents.Company is not willing to work with me in any way. Will not credit me for any services. Corporate tells me to call the specific branch, the specific branch tells me to call corporate. Thanks for the run-around.

I was impressed when the lawn specialist said he was glad I was home so he could talk with me about my yard and actually cared about its appearance.Im also impressed with my most current billing for the year. In previous years the rate would jump high. I would have to shop around in order to get a competitive rate with TruGreen. This year I did not have to do that. Thank you!

My experience with TruGreen was a nightmare. During the early spring of 2019, I asked to have someone knowledgeable look at my lawn and tell me exactly what it needed. This happened, and then the work commenced. Over the course of two months my lawn developed large yellow and light green spots in many locations, dead grass areas, a variety of weeds and Creeping Charlie ground cover.I asked to have a manager come out to see the situation, and was initially told that the truck driver was expert enough to evaluate any lawn condition. The driver saw my lawn get worse over time and never reported the issue until I called for an inspection a second time. Subsequent to this conversation a manger showed, walked around, then said they could correct all the problems within 2 weeks. At this time the average color of the lawn was a light green. When the additional applications didnt work, I respectfully told TruGreen to cancel my contract and dont return. I was paying too much money to grow weeds.They called a few times afterwards, but I was done with their services, and took over the lawn myself. Within three weeks I had gotten rid of the spots and dead grass areas, and my lawn was a beautiful dark green. Ill take care everything myself from now on.

I never signed the several contacts to renew the tree and shrub service. However, they came anyway. When I called them they said that it renews automatically. I am pretty sure that is not true and they did eventually conceded that fact when I pushed a little. Its Not its not the separate events that earned this score but a pattern confusing experiences.

Not impressed. Someone was supposed to come, evaluate my lawn, make a recommendation, etc. and then start my customized plan. Didnt happen. I was notified when they would be out for first application. Tech came, I spoke with him briefly. He left with no explanation of what he had done, and noted on the paperwork that he had knocked on the door and no one was home? No discernable difference in the lawn that I can see. Ive used weed and feed in the past and have seen s difference within a week. Going to give them the benefit of the doubt and see what happens with the next visit. So far two strikes against them.

Sad to say we are very disappointed with the service for this past treatment. Person did wrong lawn and we feel a person should have done our lawn the next day instead of telling us it had to be processed for another week. Many of our neighbors called to ask what happened as our neighbor never had trugreen.

One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I called to set up an appointment to have my yard sprayed for fleas, the guy I spoke to said the service actually covers 3 pests fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. He talked me into spraying my yard for these 3 things and paying ahead for a 5 month contract to Save money. He said every month they would come out and spray, this sounded great so I went ahead and purchased this. The next day my sister calls to get the same thing for her yard and they tell her no such deal exists they look up my account and said the guy only signed me up to have my yard sprayed for mosquitoes. I call tru green back the girl on the phone is unable to help me so she said she would have a manager call me back but it would take 48 hours (I told her to have the manager listen to the recording of my purchase because I want what I was told I was getting). Three days later I still have not heard from a manager I call back and the girl that answered said no request to speak to a manager was ever put in, so the only option is to have her put in a request and wait 48 hours to hear back. It has now been 9 days since i originally called to have my yard sprayed and nothing has been resolved.*Update* 6/12/19 This review did not have to do with the Rochester location specifically, I was only dealing with customer service at the 1-800 number. I have been contacted by Tru Green and they have agreed to honor what I was originally told.

They talk the talk, but dont walk the walk. Big on promises short on delivery.Let me start by saying the last two years things were great. Then this year it was problem after problem. The lawn was fertilized, but didnt get weed killer applied, and no one told us or left paperwork stating what was done. After numerous calls, two weeks later they came back and applied weed killer, but I still dont see any weeds dying. I cant help but wonder if theyre applying a very small amount of product, because for the first time we have had rust and weeds. Both would be gone with fertilizer and weedkiller.The one positive is the prices are great, but sadly this is a situation of getting what you paid for.

Worst company ever. Once they took over high point lawn everything went downhill. My grass is almost dead compared to my neighbors and only difference is companies we are using. Don’t recommend this company at all. Guy came out to look at lawn and had no clue what was even wrong. Then they wouldn’t refund my last treatment but kept trying to have me buy more. No thanks. Totally done with this company after basically killing my lawn! Won’t hesitate to let others know as well! I didn’t even feel like arguing with the guy over the phone that’s how over this company I am, would rather just cancel my services pay last bill and never have to deal with them again!!

If I could give zero stars I would. I went months without service, claiming computer glitches kept canceling my appointments. Trying to get a hold of local branch was a joke. When I asked to speak with a manager at the local branch a lady said that she considered herself a manager and got defensive when I said I wanted to speak with an actual manager. The call center said the manager did try to call me and I didnt have any voicemails from him. I was given the run around by everyone and no one could keep stories straight. The management this branch needs to be looked at. I have canceled all services and will be going to support local businesses.

Horrible service. TruGreen took over our existing contract from another service. During their first treatment of our lawn in the fall, they spilled granular fertilizer (lots of it), and left it there to burn the lawn out in three large patches (one so large it goes into our neighbors lawn). After several calls to TruGreens local service manager (Mike), they acknowledged they screwed up and committed to coming out to repair our lawn. They have not shown up to make the repairs, even after Mike has made three commitments to do so. What kind of lawn specialists knowingly spill large volumes of fertilizer, leave it there to burn your lawn out, and then never return to make it right? Answer...not a good one!

I had an absolutely horrible experience with TruGreen. Possibly the worst ever. After 2 years, my lawn is in much worse shape than it was when I started with them & 50% of my bushes are dead. They wouldnt make anything good & just kept telling me it wasnt their fault.I would recommend not using them for anything &, too late, I have heard that everyone knows they re the worst!

TruGreen has no consideration for their customers. They dont show up when they say they will if you have a specific problem! I waited over 4 hours for a specialist yesterday as he was to come in the afternoon because I couldnt be home in the morning only to find out he came in the morning anyway even though we agreed to an afternoon visit-left no note and didnt bother to let me know until late afternoon that he had come when I wasnt home!!
