I went to Dougs for the first time yesterday and had a great experience. They are open until 6 on some days which is nice for people who work until 5, when a lot of shops close. Classic, old fashioned shop. The price was very reasonable. I can pretty much get two cuts here for the price I was paying for one at another shop. And it comes complete with a good haircut and great barber shop conversation.

Ive been here a few times before and had received pretty good haircuts. But my most recent haircut was done inattentively in about 5 minutes. It looks bad. The 3 stars take into consideration my previous haircuts, but this particular haircut would receive one star.

Family owned and the barbers are mother and daughter. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. They are trained in straight razor shaving and are fast. Good barbers are hard to find. They take reservations and if you walk in and there is a wait you can go two doors down and get some hand roasted coffee.

I have been going to this place for my hair cut for more than a year now,Shop is very clean, pleasant and gives great vibes. The girls cut awesome!!A very friendly atmosphere and reasonable price.I highly recommend this barber shop to anybody in Rochester NY

When my barber retired I went through several more before finding Dougs. Very happy I found them.

Good but not great. Original owners granddaughter cut my hair. Haircut was average, conversation was sub par. She kind of made it out like she was doing me a big favor by cutting my hair. I hate when people do that, I am patronizing your business arent I? Can you at lest pretend to appreciate the business.

If comments from friends and strangers count, I got the best haircut ever from Mary about 3-4 weeks ago. Not 5 minutes after the cut, as I was entering Wegmans an acquaintance noticed it and asked where I had gotten it. And over the weeks since I continued to get complements on it from all different people, even my students!I have gotten good cuts from Marys daughter as well. Great place to go for a haircut.

Probably the worst haircut Ive had since my mother gave me the last bowl cut at age 8 (50+ years ago). The hair is an inch shorter than I wanted and the hair on the right side is 1/4 inch long and the left side is 5/8 inch. Theres a section on top, about the size of an egg, thats shorter than the hair around it. .. didnt notice till I washed it a couple of times. Ill be looking for a new place in 10 or 12 weeks when it finally grows out enough to get cut. She was a nice girl and a good price is the only reason for 2 stars. Might be a good place foe military or police... its a barber shop not a stylist.

I got my first haircut ever at Dougs, and still go there to this day. I live in a different state and will plan my haircuts around my visits home to make sure I can get my hair cut at Dougs.The haircuts themselves are fantastic but what makes this place truly special is the people. Very family friendly and kind to anyone who walks in the door.

I asked for a trim and she cut almost all my hair off it was down my lower back and now it’s up to my shoulders. It isn’t consistent and the lady who cut my hair was talking to this man the whole time and my hair cut isn’t all even
