They are fair and reasonable and do great work! Its hard to find an honest mechanic and this father and son team are it!

Paul and Clint run an honest and knowledgeable shop. Theyve always done a great job of letting me know what needs work and how much itll cost. I can always trust them to make the repairs that are outside of my skill level and do it in a timely manner and at a fair price. Really lucky to have them in my neighborhood.

EDIT: I recently had this same service (oil change and tire rotation) completed by my dealership at $50 flat, leading me to believe I was overcharged when I paid nearly 3x more at Ferrel’s. I already reviewed on my main account 9 months ago, and felt the need to review again based on my experience yesterday.Once again, Ferrels brought me in quickly, had diagnosed within 3 hours, and had finished a multi issue fix before the close of business.Not only am I so far very satisfied with the work done, but I had agreed to what I felt was a reasonable cost. When I arrived, the bill was noticeably lower because it cost less than we thought. A family owned business that does good work and conducts themselves ethically is what we should support. You couldnt pay me to take my car somewhere else.

Just went to Ferrels for the first time for a quick oil change. They were super accommodating and dependable. As long as Im in Rochester, Ill be going there for all of my car maintenance and repairs.

These guys know their stuff. Theyre extremely willing to go above and beyond for anyone. I was a first timer on Nov. 13 18 and they treated me like theyd known me for years!!!! They had no problem physically bringing me winter tires to check out and giving me theyre opinion (only after I asked for it, mind you) on each one. It was INCREDIBLE!!! I took my 2003 Cadillac CTS & they did what no other garage could do fixed my heating issues. I now have a newer Cadillac CTS & if & when it needs repair Ill be taking it to Ferrel s Garage also. Family owned Father & Son make a great team

Oh man when I moved here I didnt know where to go so I followed the ratings. I never regretted going here. Everything they do is quality. I have been going somewhere else because theyre cheap and my old beater was on its last legs. Now that Ive got a new car were going back to Ferrels. I wont let anyone else touch her!

Absolutely super - extremely professional and friendly. My Range Rover broke down with a bad thermostat and busted hose along with needing new bands. The diagnosis was done very quick and the quote was accurate and very fair. I believe I saved a lot of money versus going to the dealer. Paul and Clint called me or took my calls and kept me informed on the status of the work. They arranged for a tow service to bring my car to their shop and they dropped it off to my friends house free of charge. I absolutely recommend them and will use them for my future car work. A rare experience when you get great service, great work and great price and you know you can trust them by their actions not just words. Thank you Ferrels Garage!!!

Ferrells was able to find and fix an issue that Ive had for years, when multiple other shops and chains wasted my time and money while accomplishing nothing. Additionally, I was able to drop off same day, and it was ready less than 24 hours later, for a very reasonable price.

Scam artist and con men. Do not trust this garage mechanic. I brought my vehicle in for a nys inspection many years ago. They told me my vehicle did not pass the inspection because I needed $500.00 worth of repairs. My car was fairly new. So I decided to go to another shop for a second opinion and inspection. My car had passed the inspection and I was told no repairs were needed. Stay away from this place!!

These guys are the best in the market. Whenever I have car trouble I go to them. They make me feel like everything will be alright. I would recommend them highly to anyone.

I wanted to get some new winter tires. I found Ferrels on the Nokian tire website. I had never been there. Paul Ferrel was great. Treated me well, answered my questions. Got my car in the next working day. I plan to have them deal with the other service needs for my car.

Had an appointment for an inspection when I found my door lock unable to open.. They met me at my apartment to help me out before my appointment with no hesitation! Went above and beyond.

I would give them zero stars if I could.NEVER GO TO FERRELS GARAGE! (read the whole review, it keeps getting worse)They will scam you and completely mess up at least a few weeks of your life.I took my car in to Ferrels Garage for a NYS inspection since my trusted mechanic wasnt available. Upon dropping the car off everything seemed fine and I was expecting to pass the inspection or at least need to pay for some minor repairs. I have enough of a knowledge about cars to know when someone is trying to scam me.After getting a call telling me to come pick up my car I started to walk there. I arrived about 45 minutes later to have them tell me that they need to bring my car out of the shop, so I waited another 15-20 minutes. Youd think that they would at least tell me to come get my car after its done and not before its even out of the garage. On the phone they said that they barely had room in their garage to take my appointment so you would expect that they would be in a hurry to get my car out of the garage too. Apparently not.I paid the $21 cost for a NYS inspection and the employee proceeded to tell me that Im looking at around $3,000 in repairs (more than the value of my car). I was surprised to hear this and told them I wanted to take the work to my trusted mechanic.I got into the car and started to pull out of their parking lot. Immediately I realized that my brakes didnt work AT ALL! I had to use the emergency brake just to avoid hitting other vehicles in their parking lot. I immediately parked and went back inside to ask how that happened. The employee was extremely rude and told me that it was and old car and said that these things happen. I said that it had to have happened while in their care because the car was fine going in and they did not make any note of brake problems on the list of reasons for a failed inspection. I drive this car every day so the likelihood of my brakes failing on their own in the two hours that the mechanic had my car is extremely low.I also realized that the odometer reading they recorded was the same for when i dropped the car off and when I got it back. This did not match the actual mileage of my car. They took a 2 Mile JOY RIDE!!! Thankfully I have a dash-cam. I was able to pull up the footage of the whole 2 mile joyride. The person who was driving was speeding excessively, going 50-60mph in a 30 mph zone. They were also slamming on the brakes and swerving for no apparent reason. It is NOT necessary or even recommended by NYS to take a car on the road for an inspection. The reason for this joyride was to put my car to the test. They wanted to get as many things wrong with the car as possible before inspecting it. A mechanic should have the common sense to treat a car with some respect and care if its an older vehicle. Obviously, they knew they could cause more issues for my car by driving recklessly so they could charge me more for repairs.Ferrels Garage is should NOT be trusted. They are a bunch of scam artists and con-men. The owner Paul Ferrel is just as conniving as the rest of the employees that work there. I spoke to him in person about the matter and he kept telling me all of these blatant lies and reasoning for taking the car out.DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO THEM. They will take your money and leave you in a worse place than when you first contacted them.Right now I am without a car and have been stressed out trying to get to work and finding a new vehicle. All thanks to Ferrels Garage for ruining my entire year. I hope you guys are happy that you successfully did something immoral and illegal.

Paul, his son Clint, David and the other folks here are wonderful, customer-oriented, friendly, honest, knowledgeable & helpful mechanics. We have been bringing our various cars here--Volvo, Toyota, Honda--since 2001. They take the time to explain things, always answer questions thoroughly, and will also let you know if something needs immediate service or if it can be delayed, which is helpful when budgeting. My spouse and I actually enjoy dropping our cars off at Ferrels Garage. Great customer service. Several of our neighbors also bring their cars to Ferrels--its truly part of the neighborhood. Wonderful neighbors for the Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA)--they even have an awesome weathered sculpture/sign-post which is their contribution to NOTA. We highly recommend them. I hope they stay here forever!

We’ve been going to Ferrel’s for years now & they’ve always been good to us. Having had bad experiences prior with other mechanics attempting to take advantage of us (or the typical practice of finding a new issue as soon as you leave after a repair), Ferrel’s has always been open & honest in what needs to be done ASAP vs what we can save up a bit for. They’ve always given us a heads up if something will be needing repair eventually, so we can prepare. Not to mention that they’re generally very kind people, which speaks volumes... at one point we had scheduling conflicts and my husband was going to walk to work because I couldn’t pick him up, but they offered him a ride without hesitation! They’ve always done great work on our cars & we have zero complaints. Despite moving a year ago and doubling our commute to them, we still prefer to go to Ferrel’s. We trust their expertise and knowledge, and will continue to go to them for everything.
