The best customer service I have ever experienced. I went here for the first time for brake work and new tires, based on a recommendation from my daughter after she had a positive experience. My car was thoroughly checked, and I was given an overview of what was needed. The estimate was divided into urgent/future needs/good with areas of concern thoroughly explained to me. I felt the car was in good hands and that there was a true commitment to quality of work. My questions and concerns were fully listened to and addressed. Great mechanics, professional and caring. These guys are great being very good at mechanics myself I struggled to find an honest mechanic one of my customers told me about these guys they put a new heater core in my truck something the dealership wanted 500 more to do I did one in my younger years so I knew it was a very complicated job not something anybody can do I stopped in halfway through the project and found it was even more in-depth than I suspected this is a family-run business they will make you feel at home and they dont try to put in cheap parts or cut corners I would recommend them to my friends

I called many places to get my car inspection done two weeks ago. Shraders was the only place with an opening, so I was taking a gamble on a new place. The gamble paid off. They were extremely professional, on time and SUPER CLEAN. They texted me a report that included photos of their findings and they sprayed off my seat belt and steering wheel with sanitizer. They were constantly sanitizing as well as everyone was wearing masks. The service was spectacular. I will be returning.

I’m reviewing Schrader’s as a customer and as someone who grew up in a family in the automotive business. I’ve taken my cars and my son’s car there for almost 10 years. This is honestly the only mechanic that I have ever trusted. They are always so upfront about costs, what needs to be done, what can wait, and what that means. They are also way cheaper than the chains, and have never screwed me over, like some of the chains. I cant say enough good things about Schraders Garage. I recommend them to everyone moving to Rochester.

Reliable, fair, and reasonable prices. They do good quality maintenance work and dont oversell or overcharge. The waiting room is small but very nice. When I call, theyre helpful and Im always able to get an appointment in the next week or so. They dont do body work but have great places they happily refer you to, so Im fine with trading off that minor inconvenience for much more mechanical expertise.As an example of service, most recently they got me in the next day for a check engine light. My car reported a fuel vapor leak, so they carefully checked the lines and decided to recommend only replacing the gas cap and to watch for the check engine light. They could have easily just replaced major fuel line components, but instead they carefully checked it, made sure it was safe, and saved me money. Its pretty fast work for a garage, too-- replacing all my tires, inspecting for problems, replacing the gas cap, and an oil change (including filter) took a little under 4 hours.

Been taking my car here for at least 6 years. On one of the first times I asked for a tire rotation and after looking at my tires they told me I didnt really need it. Any other mechanic wouldve just taken my money. Honest and professional with reasonable prices for the high quality. Also I find myself wishing these guys would play catch with me and be my Dad.

Ive been going to this garage for nearly 3 years now - unlike many mechanics (especially the larger chains) they are knowledgeable, friendly, and trustworthy. During the most recent inspection, they performed minor maintenance required to pass inspection, but left the less-crucial (and more big ticket) items at my discretion, no pressure or over-embellishment of the issue, just a clear notice of observations. I recommend them to others and will be going back in the future.

Took my wifes car here because it was making a rhythmic sound when braking. Dropped it off on a Sunday night, they called me by 9 on Monday with what the issue was, how much it would cost to fix, and when it would be done. They found another issue during the repair, gave me my options on that, and let me know how it would affect cost and time. I was very pleased with how straightforward they were, that they didnt pressure,how quickly they fixed it, and with the pricing. They checked and topped off the oil too, even though it wasnt related to the issue.

Had my car towed there to get some quick brake work. I am an engineer myself; I knew what the issue was and I pointed it to them before they touched the car.The gentlemen at front desk did not help me call the tow truck - they only told me about a tow truck company they use and gave me a phone number. I stood outside in the cold and called the tow company, then walked back to my car (about a quarter of a mile away) and waited for the tow truck. Tow truck showed up an hour later and dropped me off at Schrader’s.Surprisingly, Schrader’s made it that I pay for the tow truck through them instead of paying the tow truck driver directly. At the end of the day I was overcharged, as my bill included a cut to Schrader’s (I paid over $60 to be towed a quarter mile).Tow trucks are expensive and I understand that (have AAA but didn’t want to use it to save time.) But Schrader’s did not have to jump in and handle the money when at first they appeared aloof and not committed to helping me. I found the move unscrupulous. I wouldn’t return there and I wouldn’t recommend them.

I agree with the other reviews. Our family and extended family have been taking our cars to Schraders garage since 1980. They do excellent work, give attention to detail and use superior quality parts. In 2008 I moved to Buffalo, NY, and unable to find a garage as good as Schraders, I now commute to Schraders to have my car serviced. It is worth the trip, and has saved me time and money in the long run.

At Schraders Garage they always get it right. I have never had to worry about whether they did the repairs correct or not, they are great at what they do. The do not mess around, you bring you car in and they do a great job servicing it and making sure it is done correctly. Plus, they test the cars when they are done, I love that. I took my car in once for brakes, after they looked at it they told me I could go longer with the ones I had and I did not need to get new ones at that time, they are extremely honest people and I appreciate that.

Properly diagnosed repair. Fixed in a timely manner. Quoted estimate was within one dollar of price paid. Honest. Highly recommend. Thank you for being what so other repair facilities are not. Would give six stars if possible.

I had a bad experience in Schraders garage. I had an inspection in the garage. However, they changed two thing for me. One is back breaker light and another one is stabilizer which he told me. Actually, both of them were not broken. They charged me about $150. I checked my back break lights. They worked fine. When they changed my stabilizer, they did not show me the stabilizer that they ordered. I do not trust them again.

Great garage! I have been bringing my cars here since we moved into town about 3 years ago, and its been great. They have always been honest and we have had no problem since bringing out cars here.

Several years ago, I dropped my car off because I thought it was making a funny noise. I was going out of town and wasnt sure if I would have cell service for them to contact me. I told them if they couldnt reach me, and the job was less than $1000, to just go ahead and fix it. Well, they were able to get a hold of me. They completely checked the car and couldnt find anything wrong. So, basically, I gave them carte blanche with $1k and they didnt take advantage of me. Ive been a loyal customer since. Always great service at a fair price. I find it hard to believe that the reviewer who went there after Pep Boys was being taken advantage of. Its more likely that Pep Boys screwed up the work and that was the price to fix it.

This the only place I will take my car for anything more serious than an oil change. Their prices are fair (no pricey diagnostic charges) and the owner is absolutely pleasant.One visit in particular I feel really sums up this place. My 92 Plymouth Acclaim was overheating and leaking gas so I took it here to get repaired. Before doing any work he looked over the car and told me my head gasket was going (based on the track record I have with them I have faith in their diagnosis). Knowing this would be expensive he offered to repair the gas leak for only $40 (so I could drive it to trade it in) which was priced at Pepboys as costing $180 and did not charge me for the diagnostic because I was just there a few weeks ago and they didnt catch notice it.I know most people wont read this whole post but this is honestly one out of a dozen stories I and the people I have referred here could tell you, showing how great of a place this is. If you need your car fixed check here first.Pro tip: While waiting on your car take a quick stroll to either Boulder Coffee (a left after leaving the garage) for some delicious beverages or White Swans Cafe (a right) for great Asian food and pastries that are baked fresh daily.

Great little shop, excellent customer service. Moved to Rochester a couple years ago and as a car lover its always tricky to find a mechanic that knows what theyre doing and doesnt charge a ridiculous amount. Went on the google reviews and was pleasantly surprised with Schraders. On Clinton in the middle of the Southwedge its great to drop off the car for routine stuff that the dealer charges 2x for. Oil changes, tires, scheduled maintenance, etc have all been absolutely painless and done very timely. Even fun to just walk around the neighborhood while you wait - lots of things to do and places to grab food within 5-10 minute walk. The staff at Schraders all seem to be very organized and efficient and is a great example of why i prefer family owned businesses to any bigger shops. Observing other interactions with customers while I waited I realized they were all repeat customers as well. Great prices and I feel like they will only offer the services your car actually needs - attention to maintenance to prevent futute issues is very important and they understand that. All in all a great auto repair shop and I have no hestiation recommending them to anyone in the area.

Went here for the first time last week. Have to schedule an appointment a few days in advance. Never go anywhere if its not busy!The staff was friendly and explained things to me. Im very happy with their work and Im sending my wife there next week for inspection and scheduled maintenance.The only dissatisfaction I had was that they changed my $34 dollars to change a couple lightbulbs I needed for inspection ($17 each). I could have changed them myself for free in about 2 minutes! But being that I was at the garage already getting my inspection and had other things to do I just told them to just do it. I couldnt even call that a complaint, any garage would also follow the book for standard rates on any work performed.

First time customer, and I could not be happier to find a shop that is in my neighborhood, family owned (ie not a chain that is driven by profits and up-selling), and trustworthy. Brought my 4 yr old car in for inspection, needed a tire repair, and brakes. Brakes were far less expensive than at VanBortel. They also found a problem with my head gasket leaking oil--a lot of it--something that should not happen on a car with 32K miles. They gave me numbers, but more important, they told me to contact VanBortel to see if Subaru will cover the cost of repair. So I will.

This place is definitely the best garage in upstate New York. They are genuine and they dont charge you an arm and a leg for everything which goes to show how REAL this place is. I definitely recommend them for any services that your car may need!

Very competent and knowledgable. Work is always done on estimate and on time. Very detail oriented - as an example they noticed that one of my front turnsignal bulbs was clear and the other amber - technically not correct - no one ever notcied before - even me. Highly recommend for routine as well advance procedures.

Not only do we get consistently excellent service when we schedule repairs, but Schraders can always be relied on to come through when we have an emergency. For example, last Friday, bringing my Honda Civic Hybrid home from the body shop, I realized that the big battery that controls the electric system had low charge: all my engine lights were on on the dash and my cars get up and go got up and went. I stopped at Schraders at the end of their busy work week, Dick called Alan in, and Alan charged the battery and restored my dash settings in a matter of minutes, cheerfully, without charge, and I was on my way. I recommend Schraders to everyone I know.
