Had the transmissions rebuilt in two older (2002) Subarus - one manual, and one automatic. The manual transmission rebuild came with a 12-month/12,000 mile warranty, and the automatic came with a 24-month/24,000-mile warranty, which, when we had a couple of problems a few months later, Redline stood solidly behind, and did the repairs with no hassles, and no charge. They even offered to replace the bad steering rack in one of the cars for free, if I went and purchased a new rack, since they already had the car apart on their lift. I bought a rack, brought it to the shop, and they installed it, for FREE. Thats going above and beyond the call of duty! I am VERY happy with this business, and highly recommend them!

My transmission had been making a clunking sound when I would go to shift into gear. I had it under warranty and went in to get it checked out. Right away they could tell something was wrong. They had it for about five days. And in that short time frame they were able to contact the warranty company, begin a claim, get a new transmission, and install it. They only did it in five days! I was impressed by their quick and efficient work. My truck now shifts beautifully and I have not had any issues. Very happy with their work. Highly recommend! Brought my Chevy Sonic in for what I believed to be a transmission problem, Joe said he would check it out, but in his experience the transmission seemed unlikely. He got back to me a few hours later diagnosing the issue as a blown turbo charger. Didnt even take payment for the time they spent on it. Truly a professional. If I ever do have a transmission problem I am definitely coming back to Redline!

Friendly experience with quick repairs and fair priced

I cannot recommend this firm too highly. I own a British car with a quirky manual gearbox which they expertly repaired, displaying considerable patience and ingenuity, and they were kind and helpful beyond all expectations. For transmission work I doubt you could find anyone better in Rochester - or even elsewhere.

The guy here never even listens to what the problem is. He heard a woman on the phone and he started pushing a new transmission at 3500 without ever seeing the car. Smh

Great all around service

I have used redline transmission a few times for my vehicles and referred them to friends and family. Today I had my 2004 GMC sierra 2500 in their shop getting some repairs done. Joe is a very professional businessman. He is honest and efficient with his work. If you ever have any issues with your vehicle I seriously suggest these guys. (Cough cough Vision Jeep) and had it up and running by Monday. They were kind courteous and most important during what’s going on in the world right now they were very fairly priced. They even recommended mechanics to use in the future. I will continue to tell everyone I know about them.

Horrible service, i brought my car here to have a transmission and carrier bearing put in. These people talked in to going with them instead of the company i had in mind, at first they were very welcoming. once they installed the parts they begin rushing me to get my car off the lot. In my car was in worse condition then it was before bringing it there, not once did they try to accommandate i will never refer this company working with them was a nightmare.

Redline Transmission installed a rebuilt transmission in our 2004 Honda Accord earlier this year. We subsequently had the car transported to my son in the US Army based in Washington state. My son noticed a light on the dash which alerted him to a potential issue with the transmission. Although the original repair was still under warranty, the vehicle was on the other side of the country, and it was impossible to have Redline evaluate the cause. Joe advised us to have the error code scanned at a Honda dealership in Washington, and that dealership replaced a simple faulty sensor. Joe not only took the time to guide us to a solution, but also reimbursed us for the repair performed by the Honda dealership. I am pleased to say that Redline has proven to be a solid company that went above and beyond to honor a warranty. Thank you Joe!

I found Redline when searching reviews. There are several shops closer to me, but none of them offered the dedication to their customers, honesty and willingness to fix my issue. Theyll treat you like a person and not a paycheck and their work speaks for itself. Ill gladly travel the 40 miles if I ever need them again.

I was travelling to Rochester on New Years Day and something terrible happened. My transmission blew. I am from Toronto, Canada and am now stranded in a foreign country on a major holiday.Fast forward the next morning and Im trying to sort this mess out and I phone the first auto repair shop that google sends me to.They tell me they dont do transmissions but were very helpful and recommended Redline. Remember Im about 200 miles away from home and am depending on the kindness of strangers.The talked to one of the owners (Joe) and he sends a car to pick me up from where Im staying so that we can go and arrange for the transfer of my car to his garage. In our conversation I told him whats wrong and he gave me a tentative quote but did not commit because he obviously needed to see the car. By the way the person who picked me up was another owner named Rich...thats service and dedication.I finally get my car to the shop and in 20 minutes the told me my transmission was broken and it would take 2 days to repair because they needed to go to Buffalo for a new part.Im Freaking, Ive already missing work and it looks like Im gonna miss more. Both Joe and Rich are working with me to find a solution and since my car is a 2005 I came up with the idea to find a used transmission...all I wanted to do was get home. Against there better judgement (which I totally agree with) they did as I asked and found the part and made a special trip to get the part by the next morning.These guys and their mechanics are awesome. Not only did they have the job completed by 11:30 the next morning, they shuttled me back and forth to my motel room, talked to me like I am their long-time buddy and gave me tips on how to get home faster and even advised me on other issues on my car. Best service at a car repair shop ever.I feel kinda guilty about not buying these guys lunch or anything but I was in a major rush but if they ever find their way back to Toronto or close by please contact me and Ill spring for a meal.Best broken car experience ever..made me feel like family and made a potentially stressful experience very relaxing and easy.

Rich and his staff are great at Redline. Weve been going to Rich for years for any transmission problems weve had and never have been disappointed. Ive referred a few friends that have been in need of transmission work as well, and they have been very happy with the level of service they received as well. Rich also worked with our warranty company that was very hesitant to pay for the repairs, and was able to speed the process and allowed us to have minimal contact with them, and got them to pay for the repairs. It was a rough process with them made easy by Rich, and the fact he cares about his customers enough to fight for them with a less than stellar warranty company. Redline will always be my transmission shop of choice.

Honest mechanical shop

I just purchased a used BMW and was having what I thought were some transmission issues. I brought it in and had it looked at. After the guys checked it out they assured me the transmission was fine, probably some minor suspension issues. Very professional and HONEST. I easily could have been taken for thousands of dollars. But instead they put my mind at ease and when asked how much I owed them for the inspection and peace of mind they told me to get lost, a positive review on Google and we were square! Absolutely first class company and people, not possible to be more appreciative and impressed!!

Joe and Rich performed a difficult repair on an old Jeep that many other repair shops could not do. Job was done on time and to the letter. Rich and Joe not only know how to repair vehicles correctly the first time, they also are involved in the Community donating to the Cure for Pediatric Cancer.

Extremely honest and upfront. I brought my Volvo in for suspected transmission problems and they checked it over thoroughly. It was nothing to do with the tranny rather a software or electrical issue. They could not do the software update my car needed and referred my out but because of their honesty and willingness to help solve the problem they have gained a loyal customer!!!

If you are looking for a honest transmission shop in the city to repair your car this is the place. My car had major transmission issues and I didnt know where to take it so on a recommendation from a friend I took it here. Rich treated me fairly and worked with me to get the job done. Rich charged me a fair price and the car runs better than ever. Rich in my opinion went over and beyond when I heard a noise in the car 2 days later he had me bring it in and diagnosed it free. The issue turned out to be something unrelated but he fixed it for just parts then went out of his way to show up at midnight to give me the keys because he knew I needed the car. I would recommend this shop to everyone and Ill be taking all my cars here from now on.

My fiance recently had his 2005 Cadillac repaired at Redline Transmission. He had brought it to another shop previously, spent over $600 on repairs, that Redline deemed unnecessary and ultimately not the problem. As it turns out the car needed a catalytic converter as well as wheel bearings. The staff not only assisted us with locating a brand new catalytic converter for a quarter the cost they typically sell for, they also contacted the warranty company and were able to get the wheel bearings covered.It took only two days to complete the repairs and their customer service was exceptional. I highly recommend them to anyone! Thank you to the staff at Redline for turning a bad situation into a pleasant experience!

I had my transmission rebuilt on my 2000 BMW 740il, probably over 4yrs ago now, by Red Line. it is still going strong! I found them on the web and took a chance on them. They by far had the lowest price, close to half of what others wanted. Being a BWM you know they are not cheap to fix. The job was done in a very timely fashion. I was very happy with theyre work and how I was treated. I recommend them to everyone and plan to always use them if needed.

Dropped my car off thursday at noon, picked it up monday at noon. Rebuilt transmission, torque converter, wheel hub and bearings. Very impressed with attention to detail and sense of urgency in getting my vehicle back to 100%.
