Get service here regularly and trusted them. This visit was a little different. More sales pressure and extra photos suggesting thing that need to be done before looking at their repair history. We agreed on one thing, replacing the power steering hose. Seemed fine. Today I noticed it is leaking. Have to take the back in for service

Scratches near the driver door happened while at McNeils. Also, they forgot to give us back the wheel key so I had to make another trip to get it. Good thing we didnt have a flat tire after going here because there would be no way to fix it.

McNeil’s Auto Care is by far the most professional auto shop I have ever worked with. I had multiple issues on my car that other auto shops could not diagnose, McNeil’s had a solution in less than 1 day. I also enjoyed the constant communication via text and phone calls, the photos of the issues (before they were fixed) we helpful to actually see the problems, and they also did not pressure me into fixing or spending more than I was okay with. 👍

You never hear of a mechanic shop being honest, until now. We have been using McNiels Auto for a few years and I wouldn’t take our cars anywhere else. Then shoot straight, prices are fair and their work is great! It’s fantastic to be able refer friends here as well knowing they will be treated like family.

Great place to get work done on your car. My transmission went out and so I towed my car to the nearest repair shop which happened to be McNeils. They let me leave it there until they could diagnose the problem, and after it was diagnosed they got it into their sandy location to get it fixed since they were booked up at their location. They were very good at communicating with me through the whole process and I had a good experience.

McNeils was straightforward with time and cost and provided photographic evidence of needed and/or suggested repairs. Andrew updated me regularly on the progress with my vehicles repairs as well as when they finished the job. They started and finished the job within the estimated time frame; they also stayed within their estimated budget.

Honest estimate and recommendations. Great service. Work time estimate is fairly accurate. Promptly reminder and post service follow up. Overall it is great!

We originally needed our Versas transmission flushed and saw several good reviews of this place online and figured I would give it a shot since it is close by where we live. The price was very reasonable compared to other places I called and they were very quick to get it taken care of. Because we had such a good experience, we went back again when our old Explorer started making noises and once again it was a great experience where they were able to dig in and find everything that needed to be taken care of. It is now driving better than it has in a long time. They are extremely open, upfront, and honest with you about what is going on and the prices seem reasonable compared to other places. Manny takes care of you very well and is extremely knowledgeable. We definitely will be using them more in the future.

The staff was amazing and fit me in even though they were super booked out. They looked for any holes in there schedule to get me my car back as quickly as possible. Too notch👌

These guys are absolutely the best. We have been taking our vehicles here since it was Labrum Automotive. I was a little worried when I saw the change in ownership/management, but if anything, they’ve only gotten better. Easy drop off experience, excellent communication. They did a full rundown on our van when we came in with a check engine light. They made recommendations, but weren’t pushy. Just very professional and courteous to a degree I’ve never experience with another mechanic. Manny really helped facilitate the great experience end-to-end. He is amazing.

I had a big job and it was pretty expensive. I was able to explain that I wanted to make it more affordable and they worked with me which I really appreciate. It took abt 5 days to complete including the weekend, but they gave us a loaner car to use in the interim and didn’t charge for it. Very professional and helpful.

Manny at McNeil’s was great. Service was quick and comprehensive inspections were thorough. Quotes are reasonable and accurate. I used to always take my car to the dealership but after feeling like they were charging unreasonable prices, I wanted to look for an alternative provider. Now I found McNeil’s, i feel like they are a great solution for same type of service experience but more reasonable prices.

Very Predatory, be aware. Car broke the strut mount. Was feeling too lazy to change it, $300 in parts, figured I would pay someone else. Took it in, said it was making a noise. They were quick, called back and proceeded to list a ton of items. I interrupted saying just interesting in the noise, they said No, lets go over everything and pushed to have me do $2400 worth of repairs. Said not interested, just wanted the strut replaced. $1150. I dont mind paying for labor, but $800 in labor for struts? Pass. Had I not known better I would have spent $2400 that was not necessary.

Thought I needed brakes, but I was called by Manny and told my brakes were still in good shape. Was glad they are honest and didn’t do things not needed. So I just had them do an oil change. Great place and better people to deal with. Thanks guys.

These guys are fantastic! Great service is an understatement. Honest and they stand behind their work. I was looking for a shop that will take good care of my older vehicles for a while (also an understatement) and glad that I found the only one that I will need. Now.. you know the phrase you get what you pay for? Well, in this case you get amazing service for a great price - not cheap but very fair. They dont try to upsell you. I had a different mechanic change the rotors and brake pads on my car and they did a horrible job. Even after having them redo the job, it was even worse than the first time. I had McNiel’s look at the brakes and they got me in and out quickly with a free brake assessment. After diagnosis, I came back to have them replace all 4 rotors and brake pads and they did a fantastic job! They got me in and out within 3 hours! McNiel’s is now my place to go and I would recommend them to anyone. Employees were very kind and worked with my schedule.

Very helpful! They found the issue with my wifes car very fast and had it fixed within the time frame we needed. They kept very good communication with us about everything that was happening during the inspection and repair. I also felt like their pricing was fair.

Helped us fix our sons car. When we brought it home it started squealing really loud. They had us take it back and fixed it up again with out charging us extra fees. Told us that if we have to fix another part related to this issue that they will do it for the cost of the parts. I also love the text they sent me the diagnose of our car, with pictures. Had my air conditioning fixed. One of the repair parts failed a few months later. They stood behind their work and replaced/fixed with ZERO additional charges. Thats rare in this day and age.

I had radiator work and CV joints. They were very friendly and ordered me a Lyft to return home. I appreciated the social distancing and masking efforts to prevent COVID. The car drives better and no longer leaks. Thank you for a job well done and it ran under the budget for estimate.

I’ve taken my Jeep into mcneils multiples times. They will charge you $100+ for diagnosing problems they can’t diagnose. I needed my back motor mount replaced and they kept telling me it wasn’t in need of replacement. Well a day or two later they were able to say you need that motor mount you wanted replaced. Currently have my Jeep at another repair shop because I’ve been disappointed with their service. Comes to find out they didn’t even tighten my motor mount and it was loose and had major play. So now we’re seeing if the bolt that was never tightened is the problem to my other problems..

From start to finish this place is amazing! They keep you informed every step of the way and get approval before making any repairs. They are fair priced and well worth the service you receive. 100% recommend

I have always been pleased with the work that McNeil’s Autocare has done for me. All of the techs are good guys and the two service writers (Manny and Andrew) have great customer service skills and know how to make sure they provide the best service that they can.

I took my car in to get my AC fixed. They were pulling it into the bay before I even left the parking lot! They got back to me promptly to let me know the diagnosis. The repairs were fairly expensive, but that’s to be expected as I drive a European car. It did actually end up being a bit cheaper than the original quote. I had my car back with the AC working perfectly within 48 hours. I will definitely be back whenever I need work done that I can’t do myself.

A couple of things that sets McNiel’s apart from the rest:-They text you a link referencing your vehicle inspection with pictures, super convenient and easy to understand. They also will text and call you when your vehicle is ready.-Both of the Sandy and Riverton locations are very close to a Napa Auto Parts store, which means they can often get the repair done same day as opposed to other auto parts stores that can take 2-3 days on basic repairs

We were told by the dealership where we bought our Toyota that our rear breaks need to be replaced and rotors resurfaced. Mcneils took a look and informed us that the pads still had plenty of life. Needless to say, we’ll be going to Mcneils from now on!

I needed a tow because my vehicle wouldnt start after running out if gas. The driver was very kind and professional. He tried to help get it running. After we were unsuccessful, he towed it to their shop. The mechanic called me the next morning and said that it started right up for him. I felt like they were very honest. Would definitely recommend McNeils.

I always get it straight when doing business with McNeils. I trust them totally based on many visits to the garage on 700 east. This was my first visit to the Riverton garage and they were fantastic. Now that I live on the west end of SLC, they will be my go to place.

My family has been using this mechanic since it was Labrums Auto, since its conversion to McNeils Riverton, I have nothing but good to say. They update you about your vehicle as quick and they send a detailed link informing you about your vehicle inspection along with pictures of what they see so you know they are actually looking and not pencil whipping the inspection. Very good service, friendly staff, and competent management. Highly reccomend.

The main item I went in for the truck would not start. I knew I had a fuel delivery problem. They did a complete check of the truck and suggested many items be done. I had them do all of their suggestions since the truck had never been fully serviced. They flushed and replaced all the different fluids.The main thing though to get the truck running was to replace the fuel pump. They were professional and courteous, kept me informed and finished the job earlier than quoted.

I come here for a second opinion, since a different shop quoted me some crazy prices to repair an oil leak, which didnt make much sense in what the repair was... McNeill look at it and told me the gasket in the oil pan needed to be replaced.....which they did fast and easy and at very reasonable price. Accurate and honest.... highly recommend!

Used to be Labrums now McNeils. Service is just as good. A trustworthy mechanic! You should feel comfortable knowing they will not push you to buy any unnecessary services. They give you detailed reports and pictures of the issues if possible. Ive taken in a Honda and a Hyundai and been very pleased with the results. Call for an appointment if possible but they took me as a drop in too.

We have been taking our cars here for several years, at the Riverton location. It was a different company until recently. Now it is McNeils Auto Care and it seemed to get even better! I have always liked the location because it is easy to get to. Now, we also receive coupons by email for being on the email list. The last time we had to take my car in, it had just changed hands and the parking lot was packed. So I was worried that it would take sooooo long to get my car in!! Their previous business must have followed them to their new location. They were still able to get my car in and out in a reasonable amount of time! I was pleased. The price seemed pretty normal and now we are new fans of McNeils. They seem like a notch above other car service places!

McNeil’s Auto Care has Top tier customer service going above and beyond to ensure their client’s satisfaction. I’ve been taking my car for service at the other location for the last 6 years but started taking my car to this Riverton location because it’s closer to my house. The service manager is very knowledgeable, efficient and honest. They have always been right on their diagnostic search into finding any problems with my car and very reasonable prices. I found this place and never went to another shop after that! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for the best in town!

Ive been taking this car to Labrum for a couple years and was so glad I felt I found a mechanic that did what needed to be done and affordable. I just brought it in to McNeils (name change). I told them the warning light was on and I am sure it was a coil. That is the only thing Ive had problems with with this car. They called me and said they recommend replacing 4 coils and all of the spark plugs. I asked if they really needed to change out all the spark plugs? They looked through their records and saw that they had replaced them not too long ago so maybe they would just need to change out the one that was miss firing. When I came to pick it up my bill was $950. $100 to diagnose it and $330 to change out all my spark plugs. I told them I thought we were just doing one. He said when they got in there they must have felt they needed to do all. Im feeling a little hosed. No complaint with the work, just feel theyre up charging.

My experience with Mcneil’s was the best I’ve had in getting auto repairs. They were thorough and there were no surprises when all was said and done. I will be using them for all of my auto care and repair needs.

Had work done to my Honda Odyssey. McNeil’s prices were much lower than the competition and they did fantastic work. They went above and beyond and and help getting recall information directly from Honda. I highly recommend McNeils.

Manny was amazing and professional. We had bid out some work from a other mechanic and priced out McNeils and they were cheaper. I didnt expect to have a whole review of my truck to be completed which was amazing. My truck was finished a whole day earlier than we planned and they were so easy to communicate with and was able to pay by text and see all the repairs proposed by text. They found parts that have a rebate which saved me money. I have never had such an easy way to get my truck repaired and honest pricing and service. 3 stars for normally good service. Last time I called to make an appointment I was put on hold for over 10 minutes. Luckily I was able to call the place down the street and get my truck in for $20 less.

Manny, the service manager, was careful to do all (and more) that I asked. He kept me informed of progress and advised of needed services I hadn’t known to request initially.Yes, I do wholeheartedly recommend McNeil’s for car maintenance and will continue to patronize McNeil’s myself.

Took my car in on a Wednesday. They were so booked, they couldnt get to it till the following Monday. When talking to them about fixing the belt & water pump, originally they gave us a quote in the 800s. My hubby talked them down to 700s. And when we picked it up, it was in the 600s. Pleased with that & the car has been running very well since the repair. Thank you for fixing my Ford Fusion.

Unfortunately, the past three times I have brought a car in for service, even with an appointment, they havent got to it on the day they told me they would. I dont go there anymore.
