The service at this location is amazing! Anytime I go in the lady at the window has excellent customer service! She is very pleasent, never rude and always willing to assist.
The customer service rep TIa was very helpful, she went over and beyond the call of duty assisting me with shipping my packages! She also provided excellent customer service!!! I will be coming there to handle all my shipping needs going foreword!!
I came in here on a Saturday evening to handle some business. The two women behind the counter were both RUDE as all out doors. If you don’t like people or servicing people, don’t apply to a customer service job. Plain and simple. It makes you as a customer, not want to ask for help even when you need it. They need an attitude adjustment or a new job
Great customer service. This young lady also worked very fast with it being so short staffed.
Very pleasant and helpful. Also a surprisingly quick experience. I had four people ahead of me and the entire trip took less than 5 minutes.

Horrible. Why is this post office even open if they are going to be so difficult to deal with when you just want one stamp. The lady at the window which I had to wait several minutes to come to the front told me she couldnt change a dollar for one stamp. She was so rude and hateful to me because I didnt have the correct change.
I’ve had my PO Box here at the Church Hill location since 1991 and I’ve seen the location go through several changes, facility and personnel wise. Yes they’ve had issues with the building, but what older buildings in downtown haven’t? Mr. James is excellent at his job and makes every visit pleasant. He’s always accommodating and courteous. Actually ALL of the window attendance are, but Mr. James seems to be there the most and ALWAYS with a smile on his face. The hours are more consistent now and the building seems to be renovated and functioning properly. I’ll stay another 30yrs. because it’s a great location.
Some of the staff here are so rude! Asked questions about MAILING a letter and it was like we asked them to solve world poverty!
This post office location is a JOKE! They lost my package over a month ago, and according to them, theres nothing they can do about it. Their suggestion was for me to knock on the neighbors doors and ask them if they got my package. This is a third world country type of EISH and absolutely no customer service, remorse, or accountability. Someone needs to investigate the mail carrier for zip code 23223, and let them go if they cant deliver a package to the intended recipient. While at it, please TRAIN customer service 101 to your reps at this location. The woman who called to tell me about my lost package spoke to me like I am a bother with no remorse about their mess up. Close the damn place already!!!!
Why would you close the post office in the middle of the day for lunch know that y’all are only open till 5. This is a joke and you should be staffed enough to where the post office doesn’t have to close all the way down so an employee can eat lunch. Y’all suck!!!!

This is the only post office Ive ever been to that regularly looses mail. I run an ebay store and they misplace 5 or 6 packages a month. On a particularly heavy shipping day 15 of 60 packages were lost -in one day! Never ship anything from this location without tracking and insurance....*Update* this post office went through an overhaul, they no longer seem to have the same shipping problems. Sometimes they dont accept cash. Upgrading from 1 to 3 stars
I’m here at 10:30 on a Saturday. According to their hours posted on the door they open at 10am on Saturdays but the doors are locked and no one is in there.
Truly the worst post office in Richmond. I just tried to get postcard stamps, international stamps and forever stamps. They were out of postcard and international and only had a hodge podge assortment of forever stamps. No point of shopping here unless you’re truly desperate or need to send a large package.
Use another method to get packages if you live in this area. USPS never uses my doorbell so I always have to come pick them up. This particular day the employee refused to look for my package and insisted I needed to wait until the date on the form. Ok BUT--its a bright pink bag with the name of the company on it AND I CAN SEE THE BAG BEHIND YOU ON THE CART. Ive had several employees tell me I dont need to wait until the date so IDK what it would have hurt her to just look, but now its being held hostage for several days. This is how postal workers get a bad reputation.
Worst post office. Mail getting later and sometimes not at all. Had mail in box to be picked up but wasnt! Just poor service. Got to do better!!
Building is pretty spartan and very security conscious but all the employees have been polite and helpful and have been able to help me with what I have needed.
I see comments & understand issues with staff of DELIVERYS. Ive also had ridiculous problems where they simply marked packages ADDRESS UNACCESSABLE because an unfamiliar staff didnt want to try to find my address at night! When I called about it & they explained & said item would divert to this location, I went to pick up, but it was gone. It eventually made back out for delivery a week later. That said, the service at THE WINDOW at this location is stellar. I have the same man each afternoon help me & always kind & helpful. They also changed the hours & are open 9-5 M-F with NO LUNCH BREAKS anymore. And Saturday 10-3.
There is one young man who answers the phone and who is helpful. Hes the only one without an attitude there. I wish there were 10 of him there. I hate this post office, but if he picks up the phone, hell help you. Someone needs to boost the morale of this post office. Give them a pizza party, some AC and a class on how to help their community by helping others.
The manager sends your packages to another post office over in Sandston apparently due to either laziness or just plain absolute stupidity. Theres no point in signing the redelivery slip because they wont even try. They just ignore it and leave it on your mailbox. The slip also has an address on it for yet another post office that it says is where you have to go in order to pick up your package. Its not. Its in Sandston. Maybe. Good luck calling them or actually finding your package.
Ive seen establishments in third world countries and active war zones operate more effectively than this place.
I wish I could put ZERO stars. No one ever answers the phone. My carrier literally never knocks on our door, and I believe has walked off with a few of our packages. I am livid. I work from home, and rely on the postal service to receive supplies. Kind of hard to receive them when they dont get delivered. Making a major call to corporate, because this is ridiculous.

This post office is closed for lunch in the middle of the afternoon. What kind of post office closes for lunch? Surely they employ more than one person which would let them, you know, alternate shifts to keep the office open. Theyre only open until 4:30 in the afternoon, so no Herculean effort would be required to staff the office the whole time. On top of this inexplicable closure, the office apparently deems it appropriate to not include this important piece of information on the front door or anywhere else on the exterior of the building. Instead, you only learn about abdication of responsibility by going into the post office and finding the small, inconspicuous sign posted on an interior wall. I want to support the USPS as the venerable institution it is, but thats hard to do when it knowingly antagonizes its customers at every turn.
Why is this US Post Office still open to the public? Clearly it is more trouble than its worth to the community. They never deliver your packages and when they do, they leave them at your door; so they say, and the packages are stolen. Moreover, how do you schedule a delivery on a Saturday, by the end of the day and you are closed Saturday and Sunday? My last package was stolen two weeks ago, by the Carrier; someone in the building; or a visitor, NO One knows. Now I must wait to see if I get this package on Monday or it will go missing. I give this USPS NO stars, the company has not yet reimbursed my first money; if I have to contact them again about another loss, I am seriously thinking about a Class Action Lawsuit, Im sure I will have plenty dissatisfied customers willing to go the distance! Get your act together please with all Kindness; enjoy your day off and you better not be wearing my Slippers first two pair stolen and the second two pair still waiting for delivery! Worst Post Office Ever!!!! They take the phone off the hook and never answer it. Wouldnt deliver a pkg. to an apartment because they didnt want to leave it when there is an office in the front that keeps packages for the tenants. Now I have to make a trip there to pick it up around work and school schedules. Oh and today they close at noon and not open on the weekend. Very inconvenient!!!
Its almost comedic how bad this place is. This has to be some kind of social experiment or joke on all of us, right?I wouldnt be surprised if theres a hidden camera behind the glass capturing all the frustrated customers reactions for footage in a candid camera show. Ive walked out of here dozens of times and driven to the Floyd St post office on the complete other side of town in less time than it would take standing in a line in this place.This place somehow even makes it impossible to drop off packages that youve ALREADY PAID FOR ONLINE!!! Since they only have one employee working here, they have to unlock the larger package door so you can just drop something off.
Seriously, if you drop a package in those mailboxes right out front, dont expect it to actually get picked up/scanned for 2 days. It says they have 1pm and a 5pm pickup times Mon-Fri. 85% of the time its about 4 pickup times minimum (2days) worth before it scans...Idk what else to say other than if they lose their jobs....Id be happy but not satisfied. Seriously they dont deserve most of the benefits their provided. I could literally do the job and be happy about it because of the perks. Therefore, I want to burn their houses down because theyre such ignorant entitled humans.I literally live less than a 3 min walk away but now I will be going out of my way to attempt fedex as an option because you are hurting my business standard.

The worst week long experience I have been forced to endure with any Carrier in my 36 years on this planet. A package designed for my home was stuck at this god forsaken dump. The package pick up slip stated hours of operations clearly on the back side, Same as most legitimate businesses. This gross excuse for public mailing apparently wiped their ass with the open time, lunch time & close time. A warning for anyone that is forced to pick up a package with these dishonest & extremely selfish people... do not show up between 12:30 & 2:30 because this horrible group will close their doors & apparently answer to no one. Every day this week this bastardly group decides to post a very poorly hand written note outside the door stating on lunch. The problem is they take it much longer & different times than is posted to the public. The 5th day in a row Ive been burned by this note & ive tried arriving at a different time each day. I am forced to sit here for hours waiting, all the while you can here them watching tv in the back. I will be late to work today, but if I dont get my package today it will get sent back over seas. So here I sit for hours in this dingy, dirty office... watching countless people come through the door disappointed. Im told by the passing public this place was about to close permanently. I have a better idea, how about hiring competent staff that understand customer service. Good luck to anyone else that must deal with these employees & this office.

Horrible service. Weve had multiple instances of no slips being left for an out-for-delivery package. (And one instance where the slip was left the day AFTER we went and picked up the package at the post office.)

Terrible customer service, terrible organization, and terrible hours (they close at 4:30 pm now and are closed for two hours during the week). There is one guy who works here who is nice and friendly, and God bless his soul for having to work here and put up with this horrible place, no one deserves to work in this dump.

Its not in the best part of Church Hill, so I guess that tells you something.Another problem isnt with the office per se, but the carriers. They cant even be bothered to sort the basement apartments mail from mine, so Im constantly getting his mail in my mailbox, even though his is literally 2 yards away. Weve left countless notes requesting they separate our mali with no change.Im starting to sound like a right-winger I swear.
Horrible location and very unsafe, avoid at all costs. Also same as other reviews, you cant get anyone on the phone at any time of the day. Had a package that was supposed to be redelivered because we were not open on Saturday, it sat there until Thursday and had to go pick it up because they were obviously not going to redeliver but take the easier route and return to sender after 5 days. This place is an absolute dump and a laughing stock of our postal service. Thanks for nothing, please renovate and hire all new employees, anyone there now is extremely incompetent.

The lines can get pretty lengthy here at times, although my experience has never been exasperated by any staff member. Mail and other packages have always seemed to be handled properly.
The clerk is friendly, but this place is really hurting. Not to mention dealing with the USPS in ANY manner is one of the most frustrating, futile, and maddening experiences Ive encountered.
Mailman deliver mail 7pm at night most times and then put mail in the wrong box nearly all the time. These people are horrible with your mail
Horrible. They look at you like they hate you. They never answer their phone if you have a delivery issue. You have to drive there, wait in line FOREVER even if theres just two people ahead of you. And most likely you wont get your issue resolved.
