Clean gym, people are friendly and helpful if you dont know how to use the equipment most likely anyone there can and will show you to use it properly. The trainers are very informative and keep you accountable. I love that you can work on your own and be in your own world with no disruptions, plenty of equipment there with great hours.
I love this gym man... and I believe I have been a member for past 3 years now. However, their 2 week VIP guest PASS is a complete joke... I got one (FOR THE VERY 1ST TIME) to try for my father-in-law and man oh man.. was it hard to get it activated.. and Daniel and Ashley wouldnt approve (finally approved after taking my father-in-law a few times to the gym and calling them), They would also call me like EVERY SINGLE DAY to ask me if you want to get the membership.. even when I said NO may be more than 15 times. I told them I just want to use the VIP guest pass 1st and see if he likes it or not.. but NOPE. They were like so aggressive that I should get the membership and keep telling me that I should take the advantage before the membership price goes up.. I finally gave up and didnt even take my Father-in-law after 1 or 2 sessions.
I live and Richmond but I go to the one in Concord simply to use there Dauna before my work they have closed their Sauna here and don’t give and update of when they will open again
The wet areas are amazingly clean HOWEVER, the bathrooms need a mopping, the tile looks nasty like no one ever cleans it. Little dirty spots all over the club. I know we consumers need to do our part, so people clean up after yourselfs.
Friendly staff. Gym-goers wearing masks and keeping it clean. Good times, love this gym. Machines are spaced and all the ones I have tried have worked well.
Great clean facility with plenty of equipment. All the staff went over and beyond to help me get everything figured out. Definitely recommend for fitness!
Thanks Daniel! The gym is awesome and clean!
I like it cause the gym is big and spacious. Bball court and swimming pool inside! They have a sled and several row machines. Would prefer a Crunch Gym since they have more equipment like punching bags, medicine balls, etc. Downside, people dont put away their weights correctly! Also, could definitely be a lot cleaner. Studio and bball floors are dirty for several consecutive days. Would be cool if the gym had more member interactions like appreciation or something. Im sure theres a budget for member retention!
I love this gym has everything but wish they had more flexible ways to pay i havent been able to join
I have had the most negative customer experience in this gym. The facilities themselves are nice and clean. This review is specifically in regard to the HIIT membership. The HIIT classes are great and the space in the Richmond gym is well kept and equipped.I registered for a month to month membership - including a heart rate monitor for which I payed an extra fee. My intention was to do 2 months since we are moving out the area. HIIT is all about being able to track your progress and interval training, so a heart rate monitor is pretty essential to that.I am 3 weeks in - and still have not received the heart rate monitor. I have gotten every run around in the book - it was a delay in ordering, a delay in shipment, someone who shouldn’t have gotten the monitor got one and that messed everything up, call us on Monday, they will be here by Wednesday, the most recent excuse is that they are backlogged. I’ve been showing up 6 days a week asking for my monitor. So three weeks into the membership I still don’t have the monitor I paid for upfront, and how the gym has handled this is utterly unacceptable. If you do not have stocked monitors, do not allow someone to sign onto a plan/contract that includes a monitor. It’s that simple. I am keeping my end of the contract by paying my dues, now you do your part. Management in this gym needs serious courses on customer experience, and I have yet to hear directly from management in regards to this issue (unless I am the one directly reaching out).If you choose to take HIIT classes here, you are better off either bringing your own monitor or looking into Orange Theory.
The gym is always clean. Employees are always cleaning organizing the equipment.
Great gym plenty of room
It was bit confusing online left msg no one has responded yet
Im not fond of the water fountains being out of commission, if they are going to do that, complimentary bottles of water should be provided to members as they enter the facility.
Very nice customer service
Love this place.
I love this place. I have never had a problem getting a machine. The staff are really nice. If Ive ever needed anything they have been responsive. Ive tried almost all the classes. I am happy to be a member here.
Super clean the employee and and computer
Great facility. Plenty of space. Also personal training is really helpful especially if your arent familiar with the gym environment. Like my trainer DIVYA, she is very helpful in understanding body movements and the benefits of that motion. Been doing this for 2 months after my injury and I couldnt feel better. The staff is young yet they are professional. Like anything, you make a commitment, you gotta stick to it to see progress.😁👍🏼
You get what you pay for. Not the absolute cheapest gym you could join, but nowhere near premium quality either. A year after opening a lot of cleaning standards have fallen, employees who do not care, and worse. All that matters to them is cost cutting and the bottom line, but if youre just looking for a quick workout itll do.
This is hands down the cleanest and nicest gym I’ve seen in the east bay. Way better than the new 24hour on San Pablo. This location is clean, great interior design, great layout, and the pool is amazing! I love the wood ceiling, very peaceful and great natural light. Plenty of parking, chill space, friendly staff.
Its crowded sometimes. Maybe some people like that. It would be nice if their wifi actually put out a signal too. And when people walk by the pool in their street shoes they muddy up the pool deck. I wish they stayed open later on weekends. But it doesnt smell like a gym, the counter people are all very pleasant and it has stayed relatively clean from brand new.
New gym. Great place. open and inviting .plenty of machine to put in your daily work out.
Love this gym. Clean, and always open machines/equipment. The Kid center staff is amazing, with the exception of Randy. Unfortunately we have to skip the gym, or call ahead to make sure she is not working the kids center before going. The rest of the kids center staff is very attentive, loving and interact very well with the children. Randy however, is constantly on her phone, does not leave the desk space, will not notify you if your child is crying, does not engage the children (to comfort and or set rules), and I (amongst other parents I have spoken with) do not feel safe leaving my child in her care. This is the only reason this facility is not 5 stars.
A great place to work out at theyve got about everything you could need as a beginner as an advance and as an intermediate. Some of the Zumba classes are not worth taken... (too lazy) however I love the place.
Theres barely any Classes. Mostly empty in the mornings, which is Great. Theyre new, so hopefully add more classes as they get more clients. New Facility, Clean. Staff is very friendly, but most still seem like newbies. They also should add cleansing wipes (instead of dry roll towels with foam hand sanitizers) to wipe machines down.
Sad health club/fitness facility. I would suggest it to anyone personally. Not many gyms in the area. InShape was better. Cost is too high for what it offers.
If you just keep the basic membership, it is ok. Do not sign up for training . They do not allow you to cancel the membership. I had a doctors notice and they only allow you to cancel training prior to 12 months if you are on permanent disability . I was made to pay 50% of the remainder of my contract by Trisha in headquarters. She first claimed it was California law. Big scam .
I love it
Me and my husband just recently joined this gym and we are so happy to have found this place. It’s mice that they have so many equipments to choose from. We are very happy to exercise here though we go there atleast 3-4 times a week due to busy schedule.Recently I have encountered a very rude and unprofessional trainer. Her name is Lisa. Being a novice and know nothing about gym working. She approached me with her rude attitude and asked me “how many steps are you still gonna do?” I thought this is what I heard but once again knowing nothing about the gym world, i heard it wrong because she was asking me how many sets. I told her I don’t know because I’m not counting it and I’m just resting for a little bit. Then she said “you’re obviously texting” which is just all her assumptions. I am not texting but I’m watching a video in YouTube only for few minutes because I just run (used their other machine) and I’m out of breath. By her look, she doesn’t care. Then she told me she has a client waiting for the equipment so she asked me again how many sets. I saw people about them looking at me and laughing. Lisa was very rude the way she approached me. She acted like I don’t have the right on that equipment and I should go. I feel embarrassed for no reason because I saw people laughing. I got her name and went to the front and then I was pointed to talk to their director. He listened and supported me coz all I said was the truth. He was kind enough to offer me a free personal trainer, I said it’s not necessary because we’re not always at the gym..all I want is for him to talk to Lisa, hoping it won’t again to me or other customers. My husband talked to Lisa personally with her manager. Don’t know his name but according to my husband, Lisa was just really rude. The way she talked to him is not on a professional level. One thing for sure, Lisa was the kind of person who will discourage you. Now, I don’t know when I’m coming back..I just don’t like to see her again..or those people who are laughing..But all in all, great gym..just one unfortunate instance.
I am a big fan of city sports and the people are really nice there. there tools are super clean and well organized better than 24 hr fitness.
Good, clean gym with employees working hard throughout the day to keep the weights organized. Supervisors are quick to handle any complaints or issues. The cleaning crew is also on point.I do recommend skipping the free fitness session with the gym. Spoiler: it ends with you being told all your current workouts are wrong and they can help you do the right ones. Youll walk away regretting the whole experience.
I recently joined citi sports and found it to be a great facility with nice people and close to home, highly recommended....👍
Anything new is nice but everyone is beginning to catch on so its becoming crowded hard to get on machines people playing at working out trying to look cute interfering with the ones who are truly there for workout also be aware that there is no sauna etiquette people coming off the workout floor in their workout clothes and Tennis Shoes sitting in the sauna talking on their cell phones. Now I can see why people pay the higher prices for private clubs
I been to several gyms and This is the first time, I have experience people with no interests at all... I was told I would get a free training and no call from them. after leaving my number two times on the front also I had ask for help on something and two people on the front said they didn’t know how to use it. I went there on a Thursday night and the doors were lock by 10:20 when it’s cloaed at 11pm
I like this City Sports location a lot! They have friendly staff. High ceilings with multiple fans on. It doesn’t smell like a gym. There’s lots of cardio machines which I like. I go in the morning or early afternoon; it isn’t packed at all and I’m able to complete a full workout without having to wait for a machine. The pool is nice and has a really big window that you could see the parking lot; meaning lots of sun!
The gym just seems trashed most of the time. I spend more time hunting down dumbbells or re racking someone else’s weights. I never see employees out checking on anything. I also use two other locations and neither of them looks like this. If I didn’t have access to the concord and Berkeley locations I’d be looking for another gym.
I give three stars only because the place is set up really nice, new equipment and staff is friendly and helpful! BUT! I believe the place still has some mishaps. The child care kids corner club is very small and had one adult with 16 kids different ages plus a 6 month old baby. The attendant could not handle all these kids on her own. There should have been at least another adult in the room. How do they expect to have ONE person watch 17 kids of all ages alone and be able to keep an eye on all of them plus hold a crying baby? ALSO, there opening hours suck. I wanted to workout early morning on the weekend because I barely have enough time during the day and during the week and it opened at 8 am. I also agree with the person below! They need something else to sanitize the equipment!
Has a good vibe to it and love the sauna better then some gyms in the area
Ok this is very good the reason why is, have alot of activities and dont get board and as a gym there should be good service, well there is good so no worries.
Nice facility, few loungers (who monopolizes benches and machines) and poorly trained staff who wont deal with spoils. maybe the location? Berkeley has so much better clientele.
Its clean and neat. Friendly and machines available so its good
Not sure if this place has the worlds most inconsiderate members or if the staff doesnt organize the weights... but its been bad the week Ive been here.
Update to cardio machines and weight machines. I enjoy taking the spin class with Coach Zack and Bootcamp with Freddie, great workouts. Took Heidis class a couple of times and was surprised at her lack patience with people. Also, seemed like a workout around her physical limitations.
I love the options, variety, and how very clean this gym is out of all the gyms I have been to! Not to mention a very friendly staff
Had an tour around looks great people are friendly not sure about joining the membership tho
Clean, lots of equipments and spacious weight room
Awesome place. Supper clean. Nice people.
I was given a tour of the place and was told by the sales manager that they changed the water in the jacuzzi every week and there were no swim classes. I signed up but to my chagrin, realized that this is not the case. They close all the lanes in the pool for an hour long water aerobics class in the evenings from 6-7 pm, right when most people have time to do lap swims. I was told that they have a fitness instructor, so does that mean swimmers like me do not need to be as fit? This was not relayed to me when I signed up! One guy was yelled at by this instructor who also played loud music with her group and he complained to the management. We are formally asking them to move the times to mornings, when there is less traffic. So far, equipment is good, but they need to redo their class schedules!
Great place to play bball and wor out.
Great
Extremely Rude and Unprofessional Staff. The Facility is always Dirty.
Very bad customer service at the front desk, and had a guest pass with my 26 year old friend, just moved here from out of state and they said I have to have an I’d to get in because I’m 14 but I’m home schooled and have no form of idea and they where just very rude all around
Love the many selections of equipments.
Brand new facility and loving all the new equipment!
Best gym in the area for now
I teach water aerobics here
Parking is not a challenge and there is rarely a wait for the cardio equipment.
My home away from home
Clean but need more machines
Best gym
🏋️♂️
Yep
Daniel is one of the worst sales managers or manager in general. Blows up your phone If You call ONE time asking about the gym and Leave an countless amount of voicemails. And to top it all off he tries to TELL you HOW TOUSE YOUR OWN MEMBERSHIP AND HOW YOU GUEST PEOPLE IN. Daniel if you see this do better my boy
