Went here before and got my haircut with Jewel, loved it. Went again and got a haircut with Audrey a couple weeks ago. This is what I asked for vs. what I got. I took those photos right when I got home. My hair and bangs are so uneven, and I’ve never been more embarrassed to go outside. Everyone I’ve talked to has either pitied me or tried not to laugh. And I seriously had to think about even putting these photos up online. They don’t accept refunds either. I could have cut my own hair if I wanted it to look like this.

Was pleasant and pretty chill atmosphere. Jewel was an excellent stylist, worked quick and efficiently. The decorations are delightfully whimsical too, gotta be said. Would be my recommendation to come here to plan your style out. 5 stars

A quiet, low key place for my daughters first hair dye. They took their time during the consult and were thorough. The stylist took the time at the end to updo her hair. 5 days later the color is still vibrant and my daughter loves it.

I asked for a dusty pink color and had to bleach my hair. Ended up with bright purple. I was so excited for the pink. I like my hair color but I also don’t because it’s not what we discussed previously and it’s not what I wanted to pay for. I think the color washes me out a lot and that’s why I wanted a more muted color. I loved the people though!! Very kind and friendly !!! Just- got hair colored the first time a wrong color ;_;I’m just sad that my hair is now damaged from bleaching ( as expected lol) and it’s not the color I wanted. I’ll have to get it died again at some point after this fades.Also I think I have a white spot on the back of my head and front of hair part?? Like the dye wasn’t put on evenly ?? I’m just seeing this ugh

I didn’t want to share this but this photo says it all.. I tried hard to live with the results I got from this salon but ended up going somewhere else to get 8” cut off and toned the right way. Now that it’s growing my roots look even worse than this photo so I had a hair consultation for a color fix and this damage is going to cost be $850 to correct. I’m so upset I have no choice but to go dark and let it grow out. BEWARE that you have to sign a form agreeing that the results may not turn out to your liking but this is UNACCEPTABLE and I paid a little over $300 😔

After having the same style for the last few years, I was toying with the idea of getting bangs - but nervous that I wouldn’t be able to pull it off. Eliot offered their honest and helpful opinion, and I left with bangs - feeling better than ever! I couldn’t recommend them more - their attention to detail and craft is top notch!

The place is super chill, the environment is welcoming, the people are wonderful. and the service is awesome. Ive never been happier with a cut as short as I got.Jewel was the one who took care of me, and she is indeed a gem. For sure gonna go again in a week when my hair becomes a weeping willow again.

Nic is amazing! Did a great job cutting my wavy hair and so talented with highlights, color and styling. Such a nice and friendly guy, made me feel totally comfortable throughout the process and confident in his abilities. He also recommended a great shampoo and conditioner the salon carries and styling mousse that have helped my hair look better.

Nic cut my hair and did my eyebrows and let me tell you he was so amazing!! Anytime I switch up my hair it always takes me about a week to get used to it before I actually like it but I left So excited! He took the time to adjust and talk with me until I was happy and gave me the most gentle and pain free eyebrow waxing of my life (coming from someone with sensitive skin whos had skin ripped off from waxing before). I will be going to Nic and Bishops for the rest of my life it was such a relaxed and comfortable environment but still very professional and you could tell everyone knows what they are doing and takes pride in doing it right.

Bishops is definitely one of the best barbers in the Richmond area. The stuff is super polite, friendly, and professional. Also they are one of the fewest places where you can have a haircut after 6 pm - good for business professionals like me. Elliot was my barber, and she is so delicate with her cutting style. I am so happy to know her!

Eliot was awesome! I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do (my hair is short but it was growing where it was getting on my nerves). They understood and did an excellent job with listening!! Very welcoming and a chill environment.

Bishops is absolutely amazing. Erica does my hair and I’ve never been more happy with a stylist. All the staff are kind and welcoming and the atmosphere is so creative and inviting. I’ve been going here since I moved to Richmond and have seen so many beautiful hair cuts and colors and made some great friends in the staff and clients!

I finally found MY salon. Erica is an amazing hair stylist. She always understands the assignment. Im always coming to bishops to get my hair done. Super modern, lots of colors.. Not to mention how friendly she and everyone else in there is. Super open and safe space for everyone. Highly recommend.

Jessica was my stylist and she did such a great job. She is a very sweet and charismatic person that there wasnt any dull moments. I was comfortable the whole time and she was thorough with every step of the haircut and made sure I was satisfied with each step before moving on. The shave was nice and smooth and I recommend anyone to get a close shave by her and shes given me the best fade I ever had. I am so pleased with her skills that I am definitely coming back.

TJ is exceptional. Not only he color corrected my roots and gave excellent suggestion and worked my highlights... but also mere hair wash was relaxing process. I will come back to him over and over. Thank you.

Went to get a trim (inch or 2) and showed them a reference of what i wanted. they ended up cutting 3 inches more than what i wanted and now my hair is embarrassingly short and uneven. the lady cut my bangs way too short also. staff was nice but they need to work on cutting hair.. i dont even want to go outside.

Bishops did an awesome job today giving both my daughters exactly the haircut they wanted. Nic took my youngest from long hair to a super cute wolf cut, and took lots of time working with her curly hair to make sure it was just right. Jewel gave my other daughter some great suggestions to add just a little pizzaz to her long hair. So recommend both of these stylists!!

I cannot sing bishops praises enough. I went searching for a queer/trans friendly salon and this one is absolutely it. On top of that, they do incredible work. My stylist, Maisie, went above and beyond working with me. They perfectly recreated the cut and color of the hairstyle I showed them. For the first time in a long while I feel confident about how I look, thanks to them. 11/10 will come back again to have my hair dyed another neon color

This was the first time I have ever been to Bishops, and I cant explain how amazing the service was. Audrey was really sweet and she was amazing. At first when I saw my finished haircut and style I thought it was a bit too curly. However, she told me that throughout the day the curls will relax and look more natural. I took her word for it, and she was right. My hair within the next hour looked flawless and exactly how I wanted it to look. Audrey really knows what she is doing. If you ever go to Bishops I recommend her.

Overall my experience was great and I had a great conversation with Erica as she worked on my hair. My only issue is that Ive recently noticed that the back is a bit uneven. Its sort of like a point at the back. I dont want to make a big deal out of this at all. Id fix it myself but my hair is too short for me to reach. I dont know if Id be able to have someone fix it really quick? And if not, any tips on how I could do it myself? Thanks.Edit: They were really great about scheduling me in and fixing things. Erica is basically my go to stylist at this point, especially cause I have to regularly get a bang trim now. I really recommend her.

I have been going to bishops for the last several months and I will never go anywhere else again. Erica is absolutely amazing and managed to make me both love and care for my hair for the first time in a very very long time. Plus shes done some awesome color work for me and is super fun to work with on ideas of what to do next. The rest of the staff are all really friendly and the overall atmosphere of the shop is super welcoming.

I come every few months to get my haircut by Nico! They are super sweet and always do I great job with my hair! My mom comes to get a haircut here now also.

This was my first time using Bishops to get my haircut and it won’t be my last. My stylist Maisie was awesome, she literally gave me my favorite haircut ever. She’s a hair genius as far as I’m concerned. I got like 9 inches taken off (bye 2020 hair) and cut into a blunt bob and it’s literally perfect.

Ashley is amazing and a wonderful stylist! She did a spectacular job on my cut and color and I was so pleased with her work! I was shocked to learn that the salon charges extra for a blow-dry & styling! I have never been to a salon that does that and was disappointed to learn I would be charged extra to not walk out of a salon with soaking wet hair? Also - how can the stylist truly see the work they did on your cut & color if its not dry?Other than that great experience! And Ashley is the best :)

Jessica did a great job cutting my naturally wavy/curly hair. She was professional and was able to be personable while working. She also advised how to manage my new style with this being the first time going very short. I loved her energy and appreciate her cutting skills.

Got my haircut here today and honestly so disappointed. It had to be my worst haircut yet. I asked for curtain bangs and a trim for my long hair. And the stylist started with cutting my bangs but she cut them so short and tried to fix them by cutting more of my hair to frame the face. But it looks like a joke....Ive never had such choppy bangs...and later she trimmed my hair and once I got home I noticed how choppy she trimmed my hair...Im so embarrassed that I have to go around with my hair looking like trash...

This was my first appointment with Nic and he did an awesome job getting the rest of the color out of my hair by trimming it out while still giving me a haircut that boosts my confidence. Went to get my bangs trimmed (TRIMMED) showed a reference picture of the length and thickness that stoped midway through the brows. The person cutting my hair gave me MIRCO BANGS. They cut them half way on my forehead. They are also cut uneven... and at an oval instead of straight like the picture. They completely disregarded what I asked for and they don’t accept refunds so in other words I paid someone to completely mess up my hair.

Mazie is incredible and the whole vibe is way more comfortable than some other salons Ive been to.
