Great shop. Walked in on a Tuesday at noon to drop off my car.....they put it up on the lift and told me itd be 15 minutes and $45.I told them Im doing a catback system in the next 4 months or so and that I wanted the cheapest fastest fix and they did exactly that.Fixed my resonator with a quick and clean weld! Would definitely recommend roy hendricks to anyone

These guys run a great garage and know the ins and outs of exhaust work. If you need any exhaust work done to your vehicle this is the place to go in Richmond.I got a quote from them that was a bit cheaper than 2 other garages, and they did a great job. Very thorough in their inspection and not only told me what was wrong and needed work with my old a** truck but showed me exactly where the problems were as well.Good dudes. Highly recommend.

Saved me some money, labor costs were very reasonable, and didnt push me when I declined certain maintenance for reason that I had cheaper options for certain things. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was due to the fact that I dropped it off overnight and heard from them pretty much first thing in the morning but then nobody informed me that they were not going to be able to have the car ready by the end of the day because they were waiting on a part so I go to pick the car up and they hadnt even started any work and nobody had notified me of anything.

Priced a little high but great and fast work.

Great service and the prices are very fair. The staff is very professional and the quality of work is outstanding. This is my shop of choice for all my car repair work.

The problem was fixed but the muffler was cut without being sanded so it has ugly jagged edges. Also the service took double the time that was quoted and no call backs when service was completed. For $230 dollars it shouldve looked better than that.

A truly honest auto shop. I have been going to this shop for many years and always get a fair deal. Just last week I took my truck in with a rusted/broken tail pipe. The other one was rusting also so I was prepared to have both of them replaced at a cost of $200+. After looking at the exhaust they called me and said they could repair the existing pipe and have it ready in 45 minutes. The cost would be $75. That is an example of looking out for the costomer rather than taking advantage of costomer like so many shops do.

Went f9r State Inspection this time. They are always courteous and accommodating.

My 20 year old 4runner needed a new exhaust for inspection since the old one had corroded away. Not entirely worth putting an OEM system back on the car so these guys bent up a perfect replacement and welded it in for a fraction of the cost.The truck runs great and now with the appropriate back pressure on the engine, my mileage has also improved. Fantastic work and quick service!

I typically work on my own vehicles, but when I dont have time or just dont feel like messing with it - I have brought my vehicles here for at least 10 years now. If they can do the work its the only place Ive recommended to friends and the only place Ill take my own vehicles. They have always been honest, fair, and seems like they are always going the extra mile. I just picked up my truck today and after they made an honest mistake, they didnt charge me for it. They also know what they are doing... there was a PITA job I didnt want to do and another shop just couldnt figure out... they also did that today and didnt even charge (Please dont expect them to do this for everyone). So I think its about time I give these guys a public recommendation somehow. They are by far the most trustworthy and fair shop Ive ever been to in the state, which even finding one is rare, and it seems the same guys have been working there for years. Anyway, Roy Hendricks, keep it up!

I had a great experience here. I called when they opened to make sure I could bring my car in without an appointment to have my exhaust leak fixed, they told me it was fine to bring it in. I got there within half an hour. They quoted me under $200 with parts and labor to fix an exhaust leak in my flex pipe. They had it fixed within 15 minutes. Every person I encountered was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I am so happy with the service and with the staff. My car is driving like a brand new car. Will definitely recommend this place and if I need any other work will definitely be bringing it back here!

Needed a new piece of pipe welded on my catalytic converter fit my Jeep perfectly!

I have had two great experiences within the last month with this shop. First was a state inspection, in which a suspension part failed. They showed me the issue and fixed it at a reasonable price the same day.Secondly I had my spark plugs changed there. It was in a heavy duty van. Their speed and excellent workmanship made me a return customer.

I was reccomended to come here by a friend of mine. Im glad I chose to come here for my state inspection.The staff was kind and worked me into their schedule. It only took 15 minutes while every other place in the city is booked for weeks. These guys are quick and fair. I only paid for what I came for and there was no BS charges tacked on for their interest.I was in and out, and I will be coming back there next year for my inspection and for any work I may need in the future.

Wow! One of the few shops that repair mufflers/exhausts in town. If you have a muffler or exhaust issue, come to Hendricks. Went to another place and was quoted $500 plus labor. Went to Hendricks, dropped off my truck, got it back within a few hours and paid less than $100! Thats including labor and a state inspection! Thank you so much!

I was told on Wednesday to come in Friday (Today) for mounting and balancing for 4 tires. I get there right as they open like the guy said, and after getting all my info he finally realized they cant do it.... They cant balance a 33 tire. Which is a pretty standard size. They dont even have the machines to do jobs they claim they can. Its a backyard garage mechanic setting at best. I love Mom & Pop stores and shops, but this one is a joke.

Had a cat back done on my car. They came recommended by two businesses. I was knowingly left with an exhaust leak and when I went back I was told there was nothing they could do about it. Tuffys had no problem fixing the leak. Because the install wasnt done correctly, i was forced to pay out over $200 more to have someone fix it behind them. All I needed was a gasket! The angry man that works in the bay closest to the office needs to work on his manners and customer service skills. I will be sharing my experience with everyone who will listen. This includes my dealership and the other business that had recommended them. I will also be paying them a visit to express my anger and dissatisfaction.

I had a stainless steel cat back exhaust put on my 95 GMC truck last week and what an excellent job. The welding was precise and the duals coming out the back lined up perfectly. The bill was as quoted and it was completed in a couple of hours. Robert (the mechanic) you are the man!!! Great service, honest prices

Prior to taking my car to the Muffler Shop for an inspection and installation of new rear tires, I noticed 4 plastic push pin fasteners missing from the front lower valance. (These were left off by a previous repair from ANOTHER shop.) No mention of the missing pins was made to the Muffler Shop. To my surprise, the day after I picked up my car, I found all pins were replaced. Thanks to the Muffler Shop on Horsepen Rd for going the extra mile with their customer service.

Been dealing with these guys for years. Not just good at their work but just awesome people. He has been putting exhaust on my trucks for over 5 years. Shop could use more of a curb appeal to strengthen their business if they need it bc they seem to stay busy but manage to get me right in. Support local mechanic shops and avoid the dealer rape rates.

I was working on a Kit Car and I need a few quick spot welds. I popped in after a few shops turned me down. Roy Hendricks Shop did it in 5 minutes while I waited FOR FREE!!! Great place. Very friendly took my car right in had all the work done in one afternoon. Exhaust and brakes. I was quoted 1500 for the exhaust alone at the dealership, Hendricks got brakes and exhaust done for about 1000. Fast, friendly and affordable. Very pleased.

I didnt know anything about this shop until one day I was eating dinner across the street at a restaurant and went there because my muffler was hanging down, they gave me a low quote and repaired it the next day. 6 months later I needed a new battery post replacement, I took it back and the cost was only $25.00...now Im about to take it back for a diagnosis for a possible starter. Very professional and trustworthy people. I have not had any bad experiences from this shop. I highly recommend them.

From all the reviews Ive read they may be good at mufflers but DO NOT take your vehicle here for anything else. I got my truck inspected here and for one I knew what was wrong with it and quoted me 650 dollars for something similar that would not of fixed the prob (on top of that the prob was much more severe and only costed me 460 where I took it after) and this may be a good thing about them but there were other issues I knew about that they didnt catch which God only knows they would of charged...all in all I spent 1300 dollars to get the repairs done I needed and they had quoted me 900 but my vehicle would not have actually been fixed just would of passed inspection

I went in to get a muffler replaced after calling several different locations and getting prices quoted from $400 to $550 from major shops. The gentleman at Hendricks instantly quoted me half the price and they got the work done in a fraction of the time.This shop is easily one of the best in Richmond and I will be using them whenever I can to keep my car running.

The First time I came in I got charged reasonably and helped out very quickly. However, the second time I came in I got charged 50 dollars for materials an the pipe they used for a rust repair on the exhaust was a quarter inch smaller the the stock pipe and they filled the gap with weld. Not impressed.

Most of the time you only read about the bad never the good. In 1985 I had Roys do a full exhaust system on my 71 torino, at 16 the louder the better maybe one of the best exhaust systems I have had. I havent used them in a long while since I moved. 30 years later after moving back to Richmond I wanted a full exhaust system on my 04 mustang, Roys by far given me the best full exhaust system I have ever seen, Robert bent all the pipes by hand and it looks just as good under the car as it sounds. The quality and value has been passed on, it is a very small shop so wait times sometimes could be a little long if you just drive up unless you make an appointment, car repairs are never convenient but trust me the extra waiting if any is well worth it. These guys do it right the first time! The rest of the guys and one gal are great people, and you can tell they still care about people and take pride for a quality reliable total car care experience . Definitely give Roys a try for all of your car care needs, you wont be disappointed.

If you ever have a problem with your muffler/exhaust, do yourself a favor and bring your business here. I took my car here to repair the exhaust after hitting a clump of ice, tearing a hole in my exhaust pipe! Roy Hendricks fixed my car before I could read a whole magazine article. 10 minutes, payment and everything. The mechanic quoted me $75, but once he had my car on the lift he found it wasnt as bad as hed thought and dropped the price down accordingly. Honest, Fast, and Professional. Ive also had my muffler replaced here in a separate but equally inexpensive (thanks to RHs) occasion.

Reliable, honest, and quick. Gone are the days where I take it to firestone and wait 2ish hours for a state inspection. They bring it in, take a look, bring it back out. They dont try and hustle me into making repairs I dont need and they do a thorough job. (Like, with an oil change, they make sure the battery is charged and wheels are full of air) Happened to find them on a fluke, but they have very much earned my business as long as I live in the area.Side note: They are actually honest about whether or not they can fit you in for the day. I very much appreciate this, seeing how they are the first mechanics Ive come across that dont OVER pack their schedule. First one in is first one out and there is nothing anyone can do to change it. They system is fair and good.

Wish there was a 0 stars. My grandparents have been going to these thieves for years. They always spoke highly of them so I needed some work done to my vehicle and my grandparents were like weve been going there for years they will take care of u. Well I went in there to get them to look at it and they quoted me 1200 more than any other shop. So then I started to look through my grandfathers receipts and saw they had been bleeding them dry for years. My grandfather didnt know any better and he trusted them and they took advantage of my grandparents for years. Shame on them for taking advantage of the elderly like this. If u dont know anything about cars they will take complete advantage of u. Then my dad went in there before I did (I found out when I was telling him what they did to his parents) and he said that they ripped him off as well. They charged over 200 to charge the ac on his truck. That service at other shops is between 25 and 50 dollars. One example of how they ripped my grandparents off is they charged them 3600 for a radiator. Who does that to a retired vet who is living on a fixed income. Shame on this shop

Ive been going to Roy Hendricks shop for about 3 years since I was referred there by a friend. The staff are honest (and dont do any unnecessary work) and the price is very fair. Yesterday I left my car which had a grinding noise on the front axle which had been getting progressively worse. I was called about an hour later saying that a plate had gotten bent out of place and they just bent it back; no charge. I tried giving the guy at the desk a $20 so the staff could get lunch but he refused my money; saying that the work only took a couple of minutes to do.They will definitely have my business for as long as I live in the area. Thanks!
