Love going to this locally owned store for party supplies

The staff was great. We were in to get some balloons to write messages on and release for my mothers birthday. She passed away a year and a half ago. My daughter is high functioning and can be trying. They not only helped us but were amazing with my daughter. Love them!!!

02/26/2021I just returned from Party America where we had purchased a set of butterfly wings and a tutu yesterday for upcoming spirit day at our school. Yesterday the associate was polite and helpful. I returned home to have my daughter try on the items. Unfortunately the items were too small for her.Today, having just returned from Big 5 where I returned a shirt (Target and Walmart are accepting returns too) I tried to return the items (still in package) to Party America. I was informed by a manager that my items were considered a costume and returns on those items are not accepted. I asked where this policy was stated because it is not displayed throughout the store and it contradicted what was printed on the receipt. I was then pointed to a small hand written note that had been taped near the cash register.The manager didnt care that I was a frequent customer, dismissed me, and then blamed the owner for the policy. I was given a business card to contact the owner. I called the owner but they were not accepting messages.I would have gladly accepted a store credit as I am planning a large birthday party for my young daughter in the next couple of weeks. However, now I am out of $55.72 and because of the way I was treated I will never shop there again.A courteous and professional manager or sales person would have handled the situation differently. I respect and follow stores policies, however they need to be clearly posted throughout the store and if it is an exception, it should be conveyed by store employees at the time of transaction, not upon return.It is sad because I have lived in Reno for more than a decade and we do our best to support local businesses. Party America clearly doesnt care if I am a return customer or about my store experience, only that they made a money off me.Buyer Beware

I bought two helium tanks for an event I had to prep the night before. It would have been nice to know beforehand that the helium tanks only last 5-7 hours! I Showed up to my event the next morning with over 100 balloons deflated ☹️

Ive been there many times in preparation for my kids birthday parties. Great locally owned place with an awesome selection and amazing staff.

This review goes to Sara Frank in the review section. The five stars are to counter her bad review. To sara i give 1 star for her Karen attitude towards life treating everyone the way she does. Looking at her previous reviews shows what kind of person she is. While Im generally not so positive myself, i dont walk into an establishment just before closing and attempt to ensure they are going to work much later than they should have. Thats inconsiderate of you Karen (sara) and people like you make this world a terrible place. This used to be a wonderful family owned store. Was my favorite in town in fact. Today I came into the store with 15 minutes before closing and I need ONE single balloon filled up for a party tomorrow. I was very friendly to the lady at the front (who I haven’t seen before). She asked me what she could help me with, I told her. She became extremely rude and said with lots of attitude “well we’re closing soon.” So I told her I would take my business else where, she proceeded to be even more rude and said “well ok”. I’m very disappointed, not sure I’ll be back. Hope the family that owns this place can take care of this problem. I’m afraid if they don’t, people will stop shopping there (like me).

They had great inventory and the customer service was great as well.

I did a review a few months back and it wasn’t so good because of the person that helped me at that time. But if I could write what I didn’t like about the service, I will most definitely write what’s good as well. I called in a panic needing balloons and helium and I spoke to a really nice lady name Barbara and she was so willing to help me with what I needed. Employees like Barbara needs to be recognized for her outstanding customer service. 5 stars for you Barbara, it makes a difference when the company has employees that shows they care about what the customers need.

Empty, not worth the stop for theme parties

The selection is wonderful and the staff are super nice. They have most everything you need for any kind of a party or event. Great place!!!

I have an 80’s costume event for work, and although I’m adept at making costumes, I cannot do everything! After looking around I decided I would try a competitor first because it was close to my home. Much to my surprise the competitor boxed everything up for Halloween!!!!! Um, correct me if I’m wrong, but Halloween is two months away! I’m pretty sure not everyone wants to be a creepy character! Needless to say I went to Party America and the staff was amazing 😉 They were so helpful and I found EVERYTHING I needed to complete my costume! I honestly can say I will recommend them over P.C. andI will drive the long distance for all my party needs! Thank you for making me a VERY happy 80’s Rad Gal!

Great selection of anything party you need. Very helpful employees. A bit pricey but if you need a party themed item, balloons or costume this is your place!

I bought a really cute Easter costume. Not the most outgoing group except for one that was a younger girl. I think if the lighting was a little better in there maybe the atmosphere would be a bit more chipper. It is after all a party store.

They don’t sell 5” balloons & staff had no idea what a table arch kit was, so I knew they didn’t have that either! I go there a lot & they have some very nice employees but I have ran into some rude ones as well! I think Good customer service is when employees greet you with a smile. Some employees there must not be happy working there because it shows! Customers shouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable to ask a employee a question and I felt that way! I think that could use some improvement & stocking up on 5” balloons would be great!!

Super expensive. I will avoid unless I dont have time to order online. Online prices are way cheaper then in store!

Awesome place for specialty items. We just had the Jurassic world Thing 2 birthday party and they had everything I wanted. The ladies in the store were great they knew exactly where everything was that I wanted to get. They are a tiny bit on the pricey side but they are a local family-owned business so I support that.

This place is horrible, they would not let me make a return with some items that were perfectly fine that I bought a couple days ago still in the package. Be careful because they will not warn you about that like some other nice places do. Party City is cheaper for the same items and does take returns.

Wonderful customer service. I purchased a balloon for my son. When I went to take it out of the car it came off the ribbon. I called the Manager and explained the situation. She was very understanding and accommodating. She replaced it no questions asked. And she even had one waiting for me when I came back a half an hour later. These people know the true meaning of customer service. Thank you!!!!

I love Party America. SUPER friendly and helpful staff. Way better than Party City!!! So if your headed North on 395 flip a U-EEE and go South to party America. You will be much happier!

Helpful ladies in the store but the store is very large so hard to find help right away. So many items it can be overwhelming but lots of choices and themes. Felt some typiuxally lower priced items were higher in price. The store is family owned and been around a while, so definitely feels like an old school party store.

Large inventory, good sales, but story was very dark, mean the lighting and I didnt find what I was looking for.

Purchased an $8 Mylar balloon that started to deflate 15 minutes after we left. Went to return it and the staff was extremely rude. Immediately the lady told me she would not refund me, even though they sold me a faulty product. I will be shopping elsewhere from now on.

Best place for all things for a party

It was nice. Had a lot of things but there were a ton of empty spaces and things they should have had but didnt.

The store is clean, shelves are stocked, employees are friendly. The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because their selection is pretty limited.

This is a local businesses and I wanted to support them but they are very expensive and the place is dimly lit, its almost to gloomy to shop.
