Amazing place we took our mom to when she came to visit Reno. 15 dollars for the basic admission and multiple areas with different cars and bikes from different eras. They also let you take pictures with one of the model Ts by going inside of it. Had a great time here, would recommend people to check it out at least once, even if just visiting the town.
This was a great museum the whole family can enjoy. There are lots of vehicles on display, including motorcycles, a 25 minute movie, a kid activities such as a NASA area, how engines work, and womens vintage clothing and their roles with automobiles (racing, owning, etc.). Watching the movie and touring all the exhibits had us spending at least 1.5 hours there.
Not a surprise that they named this museum one of top 5 auto museums in USA. Perfect display of vehicles from different areas. Organized in 4 galleries based on production year, this museum is certainly one of the best in USA. Instead of just boring museum interior, they recreated old streets and stores from 40s ~ 70s, which made walking through the museum very entertaining. If you ever come to northern Nevada, you should definitely visit this place.
This museum was definitely worth the stop. No wonder it is listed as one of the top 5 automobile museums - there were so many cars to look at. We loved how each area was laid out to compliment the era of vehicle. We could have spent hours here. The guide was also really knowledgeable and friendly. This is a must see if you are in Reno and have the time.
Think I heard over 200 automobiles. Some of the finest looking cars. One of the best car museums I have been to. Something for everyone !
A wonderful walk through automotive history. Well worth the price of admission.
Wow, way more interesting, complete, and well documented than expected. We ended up sticking around for 3.5 hours and could come back another day. Reasonably priced ($12 for adults) so worth swinging by just to see the gold delorean or the Thomas Flyer
Must see spot while in the Reno/Tahoe area.I was impressed by the number of vehicles in the collection as well HOW WELL THEY ARE RESTORED.....the colors are phenomenal.Well done!!!!Enjoy!
This place is REALLY cool and REALLY well done. Kids under 5 are free, Seniors are $10, Adults are $12 and Kids were a different price. Well worth the money. They have a neat little gift shop and a huge inventory of cars and attention to detail. My 3 year old even enjoyed wandering through to check out the cars too.Huge bonus that even during COVID they had strollers to borrow for the tour. It took close to 2 hours and I was happy to not have to carry my daughter for the second half. They do also have an audio tour for guests. I highly recommend checking this place out.
Aloha, So much better than we expected..
An amazing collection of cars through the years! A great and fascinating trip through history that we enjoyed thoroughly (and was fun for kids too)
Fantastic collection. Plan a couple hours at least.
Great stop for the most classic cars. The tour will take almost 2hrs.
Variety of very diverse cars with interesting history. Well worth the visit!
Wow what a collection of everything. Come check it out. Prides are great and you can come back that day for free. Awesome
Awesome collection of cars, and the blessing to enjoy this experience with my wife and and youngest son.
Guided tour was informative! Excellent collection! They have Military discounts but no First Responder discounts.
Excellent auto museum. Priceless cars. Hands down, one of the best auto museums we have visited.
Great place to visit. Had a great time and the staff was awesome. Highly recommended..James from Las Vegas New Mexico
So much fun and there is so much to see!
What a wonderful museum! If you love automobiles, this is a must place to go! Some absolutely fantastic pieces!
Great place, a must see if you enjoy cars. Wonderful collection.
This collection of cars is a must see. Usually I wouldnt spend the time to do museum style stuff, but so glad I did. Admission was very reasonable, around 12 bucks if I recall. Spent around an hour or so looking at everything. Nice gift shop with lots of things to buy.
Very Historically, For those love cars, this is the place.
Our family has always loved going to the Auto Museum! I can still remember going to the old Harrahs Collection as as kid and hope that my children will have as fond memories of seeing the cars as I do. And now days they have the cool space stuff and the upcoming pinewood derby track for the kiddos to explore - very cool stuff for kids to check out.
BEST Automobile museum I have ever been to...It is a must see while visiting Reno! Awesome
Fantastic collection of automobiles. One of the most complete that I have ever seen. Many examples of one of a kind cars. The only one in existence. Overwhelming collection. You must go several times to take it all in.
Lane and this museum will take your breath away. Youβll need a dolly or still with wheels to take it all in. Amazing historical cars, each with glorious history. Read the details of few of them at least and youβll see. Best place in Reno by far. Wish they had more motorcycles though. Best $12 spent.
Like the Crown Jewel of Reno! Went here thinking wed see some kool cars, be out in an hour. Spent The Entire Day Here! Could not get enough of it! Its like a History Museum for Automobiles + The Best Collection of Antique Cars youve ever seen in your entire life! I think I took like 500 + Pictures here! Mr. Hannah has really left something magical behind here!
Lots of older cars to look at. You can get your picture taken in an old Ford. Gives you lots of information on each car. Must see for any automobile enthusiast of cars from the 1890s to the 1970s.
Wide variety of cars from different eras. Highly recommended.
This place has some really cool cars and motorcycles! If youre looking for a neat place to go visit in Reno I highly recommend. A lot of fun and a beautiful collection!!!
I could see the history linked with the cars and story behind the evolution of each which was added to the car using device which was provided to me by the museum.
I loved seeing the history behind these cars!
Lots of neat things to look at. Not just cars!
Impressive selection of historical road running machines. Like the vintage selection best. Important history for we American people of the road. Nice refreshing stop over and provides you things to contemplate rolling forward. Glad Reno Nevada has this to offer to those passing through
The displays are top notch and the cars are in great condition. Quite a few I wasnt familiar with. Highly recommend a visit
The museum was great. But give yourself 3 hours to read everything and see everything. Some very unique automobiles. A few one of a kind, also.Be sure to walk through the shop before you leave. Lots of fun stuff.
Has lots of rare classic cars and a very nice staff.
It is a five. Dont miss it
The best Auto Museum, excellent car condition and great inventory. I LOVE IT
Cars that you wont see in most other places!
Beautiful automobiles and some other era related articles...so vastly that we couldnt finish viewing them all in one day. Hope we return soon to see the rest.
Had a wonderful time. Take the tour. It was really informative. Tour guide was quite knowledgeable. Great selection of historic cars.
Wouldnt let us in at 5pm even though they close at 5:30. We are just passing through so we will never be able to see this again. What a huge freaking disappointment the lady said we close in 5 min. We stated isnt it 5:30? So its actually 30 min and she said well no we are going to close in 5 min you cant come in. . What a horrible customer service experience and change your dang hours to 5pm. Looks like this isnt the first time its been an issue
This place is a must see if youre in Reno. They have great collection of vintage cars which i found interesting. We enjoy looking at each car with a brief history dipslayed with it, very informative. We even had our picture taken on one of the vintage car. We had a great time, thank you!
Great collection! Worth of visiting & learning different car models & history!
This place is such a treasure. Was totally not expecting such an extensive collection. We arenβt big car people but still really appreciated the cars and the enthusiasm that the people that work there share. The workers are SO friendly. The man at the front desk was so passionate about the cars and so proud of the museum and kept telling us how happy he was that we were there. Prices maybe a little high ($12 for adults, $6 for children) but they keep all of the cars running for special events and constantly need to perform maintenance on them. Located centrally in Reno, do not miss it!
The hands-on NASA Challenger exhibit could occupy my kids all day! It was so great to see them excited to learn more. Even if youre not into cars there are so many other exhibits its a little like a walk through the history of technological advances
Really coo place. Lots to learn
It was enjoyable and learning experience at same time.
This is a must see if you are married to a automotive nut or are just a history buff. But actually I loved it as well. Had lots of previously owned cars used in movies or those of well known Hollywood Stars or Celebs. Very well done, excellent exhibit flow and history about period pieces. Seating for short breaks from walking, lots of display photo ops, even costumes to really get the feel of back then. Good value and history lesson.
If youre into cars this is a must when in Reno. Lots of cool cars and automotive accessories. The museum has 4 different galleries, spanning different eras, a theater and a research library! Access to the research library must be done by appointment with the museum directly and in advance (this is per the cashier who assisted me during my visit). The research library has many service manuals and printed automotive memorabilia.
Had a great time here!! I would recommend this place to every gear head out there. They have some of the most amazing cars I have ever seen. Best part was getting up close to Don The Snake Prudhommes funny car, that bought back great childhood memories.
Loved this place. Cool cars and a lot of history behind each car.
Amazing collection of cars. So many early models you could spend all day comparing the differrnt ways they originally designed around problems.
Well worth the money and well displayed
We had a great time. The tour guide was very knowledgeable! I learned a lot! There is an amazing large car collection!
This place was AMAZING!!! Whether youre fascinated by the history or youre a car fanatic - even if you know nothing about cars and dont really like them, this place is a must see in Reno. You will have an awesome time and learn a ton, and no matter what - you will gain a newfound appreciation for the automobile industry and how much its grown and changed in the last 100 years.
Great place to go if you are a car buff or not. Unique cars from our past.Would recommend.
Amazing collection. We spent over 5 hours here.
Awesome collection of cars!! The whole place was spotless wow..I Love cars and had to talk my sis into taking me..guess she enjoyed it after she seen a car she used to have..lol..They have almost every classic car you could imagine and then some...Definitely go here if you go to Reno.. I will go back every time I am there!!
Super fun place!
Very neat selection of cars, so much history in one place :)
Super fun and interesting place. If you love cars you will love this experience.
Fantastic place to spend the day. Plenty of history to see first hand. If you like autos and the history of them, dont miss stopping in to experience this place.
A great museum to take a step back in time and see so many cool inventions.
The inventory included rate prototypes, famous owners, and I especially liked the dioramas. Nicely restored machines.
Cool museum. It was a good afternoon with my 8 year old son. It was the perfect size to keep his attention and not let him get bored. It was a really neat and eclectic mix of old cars and nostalgia. If youre in the area and looking for a cheap, fun afternoon, then you cant fo wrong. Ther only piece I would skip if i had top skip something would be the 26 minute movie. It was kind of lame.
Really cool museum. Gave us student discounts even though there wasnt one listed. Nice people.Museum was less about the history of cars and more just about this guys collection of rare and interesting cars. Would have enjoyed some more standard cars of each era for a comparison. But all the same, this is probably the most interesting place in Reno Ive been.
This is a must see for the automobile aficionado. Many of the cars on display are extremely rare examples of early designs of the late 1800 s to one-of-a-kind custom built luxury cars from the roaring 20s to the 50s and 60s. Celebrity cars once owned by Elvis, Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr., & Lana Turner are among these selections on display from the late gaming mogul Bill Harrahs collection. Extremely well done displays and excellent lighting. Bookstore offers a wealth of information, classic magazines art and other gifts. Plan to spend at least two hours, take a camera, and wear comfortable walking shoes.
Great place to see vintage cars. Set up very nicely. Fair admission price too.
This is a wonderful place of nostalgia. You can see cars from the 19 hundreds all the way to 1970s. The museum is clean and well kept and signs giving you history on each vehicle and what it sold for when it was new we really enjoyed our visit to the museum.
Amazing experience for just a cheap price, it is definitely a place I will be going back to.
It was a bit pricey for the experience, especially since they didnt tell us until afterwards that the theater and a few other features were not working. The cars were really cool, and i like the historical setup. I wish there where more organization into the historical context, and precursor of the horse to the automobile. (Which maybe was part of the theater and other features that i wasnt able to see.)
It was a very nice auto museum,it was easy to navigate, the temperature was comfortable, theres a nice rest area with tables and a soda machine. The cars on display were a well rounded make up from the early 1900s to the late 1960s.
If you are reluctant because its automobiles, go anyway. This place is fantastic in many ways. Take a stroll down streets reminiscent of the 30s and 4os. Old tme building fronts and dress up photos in a old classic car. Its a very fun experience.
A fun place to see some old amazing cars. Had way more early 1900s cars than I anticipated. The tour went at a pretty decent pace but its hard to cram in so much history in just over an hour. Some great classics, and makes you feel like you were sent back in time... Especially in the gold Delorean!
Awesome car musuem. According to their advertising, its amongst the top 5 car collections in the world. Im not what people would call a car enthusiast but nonetheless I was blown away by some of the vehicles they had. I saw at least 4 cars that claimed it was the only one in the world. Decently priced to get in. I believe it was $12 for adults, $6 for youth or seniors.
WOW! This place is amazing. The curators have done a fantastic job of organizing this venue with the very best of automobile history. There are all kinds of vehicles, pictures, written narratives, and historical archives -- all of which come together to tell the rich story of cars and the people and industries that have used them overtime. I was very surprised by what I found here and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place on your visit thru Reno. You will not be disappointed.
Great place.Amazing collection of cars.If you are in Reno its a must see museum
The hole overall set upset of the gallery was just incredible. Work and time put 5 on top of that everything labelled Plus science 3D gaming. Sciences, old school education
Excellent collection of vintage vehicles!!
Nothing much to say thats different than the other reviews. The place delivers with its displays of 100+ cars, each with its own informative description of the cars origins and history. This is a must see for anybody visiting Reno!
Whats not to love if you like cars. different years and different fuel powered vehicles from wood to gas to electric and jet powered cars. Also the ever changing exhibit are nice so you have to come back and see what has changed. Also you get to see where some of the car terms come from. Like jump on the back, hit the back door, crank it up or First at the secne. OK maybe not I kind just thought that i was looking at some of the car but go see what you come up with it . You will have fun.
Came here for my dads birthday, he loved it! I didnt think cars would be interesting but I found myself thoroughly enjoying myself! Lots of beautiful cars to look at.
Took the time to take the tour. So fun..
This place is amazing. Theres cars here from the beginning of the automobile revolution through present day. It was well worth the time to walk through the entire museum. I highly recommend visiting this place.
Lots of classic cars and great interiors inside. Jet engine car and the car that traveled from NY to paris were interesting for me. It will be wonderful place for car lovers. But just tourist like me it can be a little bit bored.
This place is awesome. If you like old cars and seeing how they changes through the years ... This nice place is for you. Definitely see the short movie.
If you like cars this is a great place to spend a few hours when your in Reno
A nice activity while in Reno over 200 vehicles to view from a lot of different eras 12 bucks per adult no food available only a vending machine
Super huge collection of unique cars. Well worth the visit. There are some cars which you will only find here. You get to learn of how much they have changed in style and mechanics over the 100 years of their history. Loved being able to get on board the old ford. There is also a space exhibit, which was interesting too.
We loved it We will definitely go back again*clean*a lot of history*very friendly*can take pictures and videos*you feel welcomed in this place
A truly fantastic collection of classic vehicles. Catalogues the history of cars from the early days through about the 1970s. 4 very large galleries, mostly focused on vintage, unique, and rare vehicles. The crown jewel of the collection in my opinion would be the Mercedes 500K or the Bugatti. Absolutely worth a trip if youre into cars!
