Roy Fosters Automotive is great to work with. They were able diagnose the problem and they worked with my warranty company to see what they would cover. They really went the extra mile. My Ford F150 was repaired running great and they were able to do it in a very timely way. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reputable auto repair shop.
Roy Fosters Automotive located off Keystone. Hands down. Awesome place. Great and friendly and very informative customer service. Fast work and detailed. Love how they take pictures of your vehicle and email you with descriptions and explanations of whats wrong and why and etc. I had went to 3 different Automotive places before I was recommended to go here. I wish I would have known but now I do. I say if you want your vehicle taken care of the first time the correct info and decently priced. Come to these guys. They will handle it. Thanks so much!! You got a customer for life.
I put my trust in you and that was a mistake. My skid plate dropped and in doing so might have hit other things. I made the appointment for replacing my skid plate and checking water pump. It was Friday 8/13/2021. My quote came listing an air filter and drive belt. Also I have some type of oil leak. No mention of a skid plate that has been zip tied up and what my issue was to begin with. When I asked about it I was told it was fine and no issue. I had to request they order it and now have to spend another day without a car because by the time you were done with the check there was no time for repairs. Now my skip plate is falling again and no call today to set up appt. I am really over your shop but stuck with you until this is done.
Love the transparency of the digital inspection and how it educated me to the condition and needs of my vehicle. This was in line with what the mechanic was suggesting and reaffirmed my trust in Roy Fosters. They’ve always offered honest solid work performed by knowledgeable technicians.
Over 500 dollars for an inspection nd transmission flush? Only to tell me we actually need close to 8k in repairsand might not have needed the flush? Weve been going to you guys for many years but man thats outrageous. Time for another opinion from another shop.
I needed help to get fluid in my car because my boyfriend flaked on me... go figure! And the car needed help immediately.I pulled in to the store and asked if I could get some help. I was told to go into the office and ask. I thought that theyd tell me no...but that was further from the Truth. A young man named Logan came out with a fabulous smile and asked how he could help. While he was under my hood, I found out he was just learning how to be a mechanic but the store was training him and it showed. By the time he had finished, I was impressed. I used only my own fluids and he was clear the service was FREE!If you think that kind of service has disappeared, think again! This is the place to get all your car repairs done, the prices are fair and the service is impeccable! And if you find your fluids severely low and you need help fast, dont hesitate to ask for their help. They just might be able to help you too!
The team was very thorough and the job was done in a timely manner. Water pump, air filter, and rear shocks replaced. Cost was very reasonable and I am very pleased with my vehicle.
I recently took my car to this shop for the first time. They were offering a free brake inspection, and since I knew I was getting ready to be due for brakes, I wanted someone other than the dealership to take a look. They were very quick to get my complete car analysis back to me, including the brake inspection. I have always had my car serviced timely at the dealer, so I knew exactly what might come up in the inspection. I was happy to find no surprises, and the items that they noted were exactly as the dealer had noted at my last service (which was only a couple of months prior). After reviewing their report (which included a detail what each repair was going to cost), I contacted them to let them know which repairs I wanted done. Each time I spoke with them, they were polite and professional. Now that my cars dealer maintenance package has passed, I will not hesitate to bring my car here for future maintenance, such as oil changes and tire rotation.I was very pleased with the entire experience, and would highly recommend Roy Fosters! They were great to do business with.
Brought my vehicle in to get serviced. Decided not to do the work because the vehicle wasnt worth as much it was going to cost to do the recommended service. On my way home from work the following day noticed a shimmy in the front end as I applied brakes. Pulling in drive way noticed oil stain on my drive way. The differential plug was not tightened properly. Called and brought car back. They tightened it and Apologized. And they Said they top off all my fluids for my trouble. Good thing I checked because they didnt even do that.
They do great work! The office staff are all really friendly, kind and helpful, they make you feel valued!
This was our first visit to Roy Fosters. The Service Advisor was knowledgeable and friendly. I felt he had a good understanding of the services I wanted performed. Since my wife’s Jeep GJ recently clicked over 100,000 miles I also wanted a general inspection of the condition of the vehicle, especially the engine and trans and any safety issues. The technicians were very thorough and I didn’t get the impression they were trying to invent issues. Before noon they had already completed the work I had requested and they emailed me a professional looking car condition report, along with pictures, showing what services they had performed and the results of their inspection. For the issues they found the report categorized these according to their urgency: items, such as safety related items, they recommended being addressed immediately and their estimated cost. Items that could wait the report listed listed how much time and miles before they became critical. And also their estimated cost. The service advisor followed the report up with a phone call to go over the report, answer any questions I might have, and decide what additional services I wanted performed. We decided on replacing the LED third brake light because it was a safety related item. We also decided on replacing a filter because the picture showed how dirty it was and it was a cheap and easy fix. The rest we agreed could wait for another visit. I received a text and a phone call they’d completed my car, the same day no less and about an hour earlier than they’d estimated.I felt the service advisor was my ally and had my best interests in mind as far as my time and money constraints. I never felt pressured to have work performed that I didn’t need or ask for. My wife was with me at drop off and pick up. The true testament was that she felt comfortable talking to the service advisor and confident he was giving her the straight poop. The end result was that we both trust this shop. In the past we had religiously taken the car to Dealerships. Her complaint about the Dealerships has always been she doesn’t understand what they’re telling her and she doesn’t feel they understand what she’s asking. As a result, she’d always make me go along if nothing else to translate the advisors’ service-speak for her, but mostly so she didn’t feel she was being taken advantage of. With the Roy Foster’s crew and the accompanying email car condition report they send out she said she’d have no hesitation taking her Jeep there herself. For me that’s a major win-win.
I needed my water pump replaced. They did everything in a timely manner. I was a little surprised that since it was a coolant issue they didnt wash the engine and my car smells of the coolant burning off, but it is running much better.
I now remember why I stopped bringing vehicles into this garage. I brought the truck in to get the oil changed and to investigate some concerns I had. I listed the concerns and provided a diagnoztic code that had come breifly on during the last trip. He told me they would look at it, but since it was a deisel they couldnt do much with it. Fair enough.I also, explicity, told him about the ABS sensor that was shredded during a tire blowout the week before and how it needed to be replaced. The tire shredded the sensor wires at the connection near the front strut. Here is Brads diagnosis and explaination of the problem with the ABS light indicator being on:front sensor does not look damaged but due to the recent incident that has occurred on that corner of the vehicle we would recommend replacing the speed sensor and if the light remains on we can test through this circuit to pinpoint the fault.I have included a picture of the damaged sensor. The harness that connects the sensor is obviously damaged and the wires are looped up aroundthe barke line mount to avoid any more damage. When I came back in to pick up the truck, Brad said there were some things that needed to be fixed but the sensor looked ok. When I asked him if he had looked at the sensor, he got really defensive and backpedaled, saying hes not just going to pull on a bunch of wires. He then quoted me $400 dollars to replace the sensor. As is clearly visble, the wire/harness is the issue, likley not the entire ABS/speed sensor. The wire/harness is available for $12.50 and should do the trick. To top off my expereince, the oil change magically went up to $156, from the $128 I was quoted.I had forgotten why I stopped bringing vehicles into Roy Foster. If youre looking for a surficial investigation into your vehicle and then an arrogant response as to why an issue wasnt properly addressed, then Roy Foster is your spot!
This was the best customer service experience I have had in idk how long. Honest to god I am incredibly impressed how polite and streamlined the service is. 6/5 stars.
This was my first experience at Roy Fosters Auto and I could not be more pleased! The staff was friendly, direct, and helpful.I dropped my car off first thing in the morning. I got a call back at 9:00am with a full diagnostic and detailed description of everything wrong with the vehicle. The full diagnostic was texted to my phone and I got to scroll through and read each description and the severity of the issue. They patiently answered my many questions, and then proceeded to work on my car. I had to replace the radiator and thermostat, I also threw in an oil change because I was due for one anyway. The total cost out the door was around $1200. This is incredible considering how much better my vehicle is running.I had taken my vehicle to Roy Fosters after having a bad experience at a different auto shop, and I was stunned by the stark difference in customer service, atmosphere, and professionalism. At the other auto shop I was quoted $400 just for the diagnostic. I am convinced that I would have ended up paying double for worse overall service if I had stayed there.I recommend Roy Fosters highly! I will continue to take my car here in the future.
The business is very professional and helpful in every way. They always went straight to the point and helped us to feel as if the car problems were fixed—and they appear to be as of now.
You know that feeling of dread when you have to call a mechanic and wonder first, how youre going to swing the cost, and second, will your car even be able to get fixed? Well, since Ive been bringing my car to Roy Fosters I no longer have that feeling. Sure, its still going to cost money, but Brad, Jimmy and Blakeley do a great job of keeping you informed along the way, and best of all, its fixed right by their outstanding crew of technicians! My experiences have been nothing but positive and I owe them a big giant thank you!!
Superb auto mechanics and helpful with diagnostic problems on my truck. Automotive shop is thorough with repairs and provides an assessment or health report of vehicle.Honest, straight forward, caring.
This was the best mechanic shop I have ever been too they were professional from the time I called until they completed the work on my car. I would recommend this place to anyone its actually really nice to have real mechanics that are not out to rip you off. Thank you to all the staff oh ya and the exhaust is perfect...Good Job
Even though my vehicle is older, they took great care of it. They were extremely professional and nonjudgmental. They provided a list of things that should be taken care of and an order they should be done. No pressure to buy services. I liked that!
Roy Fosters Automotive is quick and so professional in the work that they do. They provide a diagnostic report and go through each service that will need to be performed with you. In addition, they have such a kind staff and talented mechanics, who will perform quality work on your vehicle. Great crew, great result, great price--cant beat it!
Hands down the best auto repair shop in the Reno/Sparks area!! Have been going to them for a few years now. They treat you like family and dont do unnecessary repairs. Jimmy is an amazing employee there, he takes care of you and will make sure to only recommend what is needed and then advises you about lesser repairs to consider. And service after the work is done is just as high quality as the service itself. Highly recommended, wont take my repair needs to anyone else!
Little things go a long way and Foster’s pay attention to the little things. They were very communicative about what to expect with service and price. They were timely and professional. This was the first time I used them over the other shop I have been going to for 10 years because when I called they took time with me and didn’t rush me with my questions. They have a new, happy customer. Shout out to Brad for his kindness.
Ive brought several cards to them its always been expensive but I trusted him. Today I took him for an air conditioning service on an old Ford pickup. Charge me $213 to tell me they couldnt do anything. It appears that their standard charge to look at an air conditioner no matter what when they told me it was obvious there was no belt on the air conditioner It seems like they could have backed off the total charge. I will find somewhere else in for future services.
The service technicians at Roy Foster’s rebuilt my rear differential and fixed my oil pressure sensor issue that 2 different shops said I’d have to replace my entire engine to repair, this saved me about 15,000$. Honest shop repairing something and explaining everything along the way.Thank you!
Emergency break down luckily landed me in this shops parking lot. Unfortunately my radiator decided to split but thankfully (and quickly!) it got squared away with a few other maintenance repairs. This business is so professionally run, reassuring and very upfront about what my car needed and all prices associated with the repairs. They utilize a great text communication and detailed list of car health including what was in good shape, what might need some attention soon and what needs immediate work which awesome to have! I finally feel like I found a reliable and trustworthy mechanic in Reno that values the longevity and safety of my vehicle. Highly recommend!
I will avoid going to a mechanic shop as much as I possibly can. It’s hard to find an honest mechanic these days but this place is great. Not only are they honest but they know there s***. There work is great but by some chance your not satisfied with the job they do, they will not only make it right but they make it a top priority to get you back on the road again and I am speaking from experience. They corrected the mistake with no questions asked and put me in front of the line. Most shops would take advantage of the situation and charge you again for something you already paid for. I will definitely be going back here the next time I need to take my truck to the shop.
Roy Fosters is the best shop I have ever been to. I normally don’t use mechanic shops because they are either crooks or they don’t know what the heck they are doing. My husband is very handy so he does most of the work on my car. Unfortunately, he can’t do a front end alignment on my 2015 Infiniti Q50.When I called, Brad was very professional and was able to get me right in the next day to get my cars alignment done. Not only did they do the alignment, but they gave my car a once over. Looked at oil, brakes, air filters, test drove my car and recognized my throttle response was off (which I was also concerned about). To top it all off, they gave me concrete proof, pictures of the filters, the oil, the brake fluid, everything! They weren’t trying to get one over on me. They are just a genuine, professional, shop that does a great job.I will definitely be trusting them with my car care in the future. Thanks again to your whole team!
After a makeshift repair myself while going over the pass I brought our family vehicle into Roy Fosters to replace the radiator hoses and take a look at the battery. Brad and Jimmy in the front were very helpful when I explained what I had temporarily repaired and what I thought might be wrong. They called me after they performed an inspection and noticed a few other items that after we reviewed needed to be replaced as well. I appreciate the options and time explaining what they found and also listening to a non certified mechanic such as myself when I brought my car in. They got us back on the road and our car was repaired above expectations. The other perk is that they are NAPA certified so the work they did is covered by a warranty that can be repaired at any NAPA Auto Care Center should something occur later on within the warranty time.Thank you to Roy, the front office staff and the mechanics for your honesty, service and dedication to providing a clean and safe automotive center to have our vehicle serviced at.
So my fiance took his car to them cause it wouldnt pass smog. They got it in sent him a quote. When we got it back it was actually cheaper then the quote 😁 We were happy with the work and price and they are going to smog it in few days for just a few $. We definitely would recommend them. I know if I ever have problems with my vehicle it will be taken there.
A full diagnostic was run for leaking coolant. Nothing was found other than a possible loose cap which was replaced. Three days later I took my car to another company due to it overheating again and a crack was found on the radiator. I was a little disappointed it was missed the first time after seeing for myself how big it was. Customer service was great though!
They dont communicate well to be honest. They are friendly enough but they dont let you know right off the bat that your appointment time does not mean they begin working on your car but that you get in line to have your car worked on so they could start on it well after lunch even though you dropped it off early in the morning. Furthermore they will perform a service and then if you come in complaining that the issue they repaired is still causing problems they will try and charge for the diagnostic to figure out the problem. Its total nonsense. Im done with this place. Also their prices are not great.
My wife drove from Louisiana to Reno, NV. Just before arriving the front left brake started squealing when she applied the brakes. I prayed first that God would lead me to an honest trustworthy service center since we are unfamiliar with the area. I did a google search for mechanic services and located Roy Foster’s Automotive. I read all of the information available on their website and was very impressed. I wanted to take the time to recognize this facility. I have been a cross country truck driver in the past and traveled a great deal in my life. This Auto shop is by far an outstanding business I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. From my initial appointment setting on their web site, to the interactive text messages, updates and the personal service I received from Brad I knew I had made the best choice. I made an appointment for Thursday. Had our car towed to them on Monday. I received and impressive quote including notes from the mechanic on Monday. Tuesday morning the brakes were fixed and by noon the additional services I requested were completed. Two days quicker than I expected. This facility if definitely taking advantage of the technological advances in the industry. You would do yourself a dis-service by not using Roy Foster’s Automotive. Thank you for the Excellent five-star service.
Very professional and were nice to offer a complimentary inspection for my 100k service. They did a thorough job of looking over the car and offer a useful online portal that shows the things that should be fixed right now, the things that can wait a bit, and the things that are fine. I perform a lot of car Maintinence by myself and am well versed in how cars work, and I can tell these people are not in the business to take advantage of people.
The service is great, with detailed step by step pictures along with a detailed explanation with the problem and how to fix it. The best way Ive seen so far to get my vehicle back on the road and a happy customer. My vehicle has not operated this well since I bought it in 1996. I do highly recommend.
I went to get my car smogged so I can register it and the staff were extremely nice and polite as well as quick and professional! Im very pleased with my experience. I would go there again if I needed to! 😊
When there is a problem with my wifes Escalade I take it Roy Fosters. And this Escalade can be a very complicated vehicle to figure out. When a mechanical shifting, brakenightmare happens at a stop sign, the mechanics found the problem and now runs great. Plus they did something extra as a suprise, repairing the front bumper that was hanging down on the corner. Thank you Roy Fosters
These guys fixed some of the problems with my husbands vehicle. They do an inspection and a quote. They get the work done in a timely manner and are friendly and professional. Their prices are very reasonable. We have more work to be done, but we already have the quotes for that work. We will definately be customers again.
NEVER EVER GO HERE. EVER!!!!!!!!My partner inquired to get an estimate for services to fix a window. We got a quote for $170 to repair the window if no parts were needed. Okay, sounds fine. Drop off the car to confirm price and what it includes: FIXING the window. They reach out later saying it will be over $500 to fix because they need a $50 part (yeah, it’s only $50). No way, that’s way out of price range. We declined any services. Show up to pick up the car and they ended up still charging us $170 for NOTHING. They didn’t fix the window at all. Unbelievable! What an absolute scam. I cannot believe you honestly just stole $170 from us. Unacceptable. NEVER EVER GO HERE. EVER.
My boyfriend and I brought his car in for repairs and they did all of them when expected. When we went to pay, I found out that they had thrown away my keychain after breaking it in half. That was bad enough but I was willing to let it go because we finally had his car fixed. Then, the next day, we almost died because there was little to no brake fluid left in the lines and it was leaking profusely. When we had another service agent inspect it, they said the lines hadnt been tightened or something really simple. This incident was so stupid that it was about 20 minutes of leaking away from being a lawsuit. Do not take your vehicle to this place. Even when they do the job correctly, they charge way too much.
I received a quote for a diagnostic AND repair of my vehicle. They then upped the price 10 times after getting their little document signed. I refused the service and was charged for the repair anyway. I DO NOT recommend Roy Fosters Automotive.
Honest, told me the max charge and came under that number by $200.Will use again no bs and a job well done post haste . Thanks again
I brought my vehicle to Roy Fosters that seemed to have a timing issue and after over $4,000 in repairs seemed to be better. Then drove the truck for less than 200 miles and the engine threw a rod and I was told that the engine needed to be replaced with a used engine another $7,000+ or a new engine $12,000+. The manager seemed really nice and helpful. Roy is helping with some of costs for the replacement of the engine. From the discussions Roy and I have had, the failure was a combination of the past repairs and the attempted repairs done, and he is being helpful with getting the truck on the road again.
Ive been going to Roy Fosters for a long time. Jimmy and Brad are always professional and I always get great and honest service. I appreciate them a lot.
They always do a good job.
Phenomenal establishment.I don’t know a whole lot about cars so i asked a friend of mine to recommend a couple shops to me and this was his go to. Hands down greatest shop i’ve ever been to. Everyone is friendly and very knowledgeable especially my guy JIMMY. Stellar customer service and they don’t pressure you into anything unnecessary. Everything was easy to follow and they break down what the car needs unequivocally vs what it can wait on/do without for a bit which is really nice. All in all i think i’ve found a new home for my 2017 Ford Focus. Thank you!!
I had quite a few problems with my Subaru. It was “that time”. They went over all of the usual inspections and then into the more concerning areas with me. They show you a breakdown of the good, okay, and bad parts of your car. It was an easy step by step explanation for each concerning part of the car that I asked them to look into. When I got there in the morning at 8am, it was already pretty busy but it didn’t take long for them to get my car in the shop and start working on it all. I had to get an oil leak fixed, which of course takes time, my brakes and rotors checked, and my headlights messed with. They spent all day on my car and for my convenience finished an hour before closing so I could get back to my usual life the next day. They were super friendly and were very patient with all my questions. They wore their masks and sanitized my car after the service, which made me feel much more at ease with the COVID situation. Eric was very helpful in explaining how my leak was happening and explaining the process of what he was doing to clean it out and give it a better run. It feels 10x smoother and my brakes feel so much more safe. I definitely suggest going here to get your car fixed!
My experience at Roy Fosters was amazing! Brad and Jimmy both helped me at the front and were very knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to work with. My car is running great and I will be coming back for all future car maintenance! Thanks!
Service was above and beyond what other places offer. From the time you walk in Brad is extremely helpful going over the services and cost. Logan Was quick with installation and services and offered great customer service making the entire experience seamless from office to shop. Being a Family owned small business I felt like they cared more about service and offering an honest price for what they were providing rather than just gouging prices for their corporate numbers. The only place we will bring our vehicles and trust the services we are receiving and work being done!
We are always happy with the service provided by Roy Foster Automotive, both in the service bay and in the front office. Your service writers are fantastic and we could not be happier. See you next month for an oil change!
Yes once they got to fixing it it went well I was happy with the results.
We have always had a great experience when taking our cars to Roy Foster’s. Honest and excellent customer service. Would never go anywhere else to service our cars.
There always fast efficient and do awesome
Make sure they fix the problem before paying for their services. I caught them adding services on the bill, which was never performed. Never went back to them. They are dishonest people.
They didnt have time to look at my issues
Very pleasant experience. Brad is great, very good communication, kept me posted on the status. Not the cheapest repair place, but well worth the thorough inspection and detailed repair! Very happy and will use again!
2021 update: another great service completed. I feel very confident having Fosters take care of my car. They listened to all my concerns and took care of the issues. Excellent communication and customer service, as always.Original: I’ve been taking my car (various models consecutively) to Fosters for about 15 years and have been happy each time. They have really made an effort to keep me informed in the process, to do the work I need and not push superfluous services, and to have good rates. And they stand by their work, which is high quality. I feel like they care personally about me and my cars, and that makes a big difference.
Great service dropped off for an oil filter/oil change. They do a full inspection and show pictures of issues you can view on your phone. Thanks again.
I called to get information on how much it would cost to get a full synthetic oil change with a premium filter. They told me $70. So I booked an appointment and got the vehicle serviced. When I came to the place to pay and pickup the vehicle they charged me $146.29. At this point I felt scammed. I ended up paying because I do not want confrontation. I will not return again and suggest to others to be cautious.
These guys are great. Great communication. No pressure. Fixed my service van with exceptional quality. This is my mechanic from now on
Great honest in dept and up front my first time there and I was treated great and my problem was fixed at a decent cost. I will definately return.
We are very disappointed in the estimate we received . we had done Business in the past with Roy Foster’s automotive for many services for our CRV and I’ve always been happy with their customer service and quality of the maintenance we received. But was very saddened when we were looking for an estimate on rotors and brake pads for our 2006 CRV. The estimate came in at $1200 we also got an estimate from the Honda dealership which was estimated at $700 ..We were able to find equal service on the same day that we picked up our automobile from Roy’s And Drive our vehicle over to affordable brakes in Reno they were able to do the same service for 600.. My advice to anyone is shop around there are still affordable automotive locations in Reno. Was very disappointed Roy fosters automobile lack of service and high prices especially during these trying times..
It is rare to a professional mechanic who you can completely trust and treats you like a friend. This is the entire team at Roy Foster’s Automotive. They’ve done work for me on several occasions and every time they handled it quickly, professionally, and at a reasonable price. It’s been years since I felt that I could recommend a mechanic, but I can confidently recommend Roy Foster’s Automotive. You will soon be recommending them as well.
I will always go to Ray Fosters for my vehicle. So easy to work with. Very friendly, knowledgeable. It’s the best.
Replaced all 4 tires on my Audi Q7. It cost nearly half of what the Audi dealership was going to charge me! Logan Foster did a wonderful job installing my tires, and my car now floats down the road as straight as an arrow! I would recommend Roy’s Automotive to all owners of luxury vehicles that don’t want to pay luxury dealer prices when getting their vehicles serviced or repaired. Best in Northern Nevada!
My mom went in to get her vehicle smogged. They smogged it and it failed so they performed a diagnostic to find out what needed to be fixed. This diagnostic cost my mother $170. They then told her that it would be $1700 to get it to pass smog. My mom then came to me, almost in tears because of the unexpected bill that had just landed in her lap and explained to me what was going on. I told her to take it to Jiffy Lube and get a second opinion. Jiffy Lube told her that it did in fact pass smog and charged her $15 to smog it. DO NOT GO TO ROY FOSTERS EVER!!!
After rear shocks installed there are knocking/klunking sounds when driving on normal roads that weren’t there before.
Great service always done right
I was very disappointed with my experience. I was driving from Washington state home to Colorado after taking care of my mom after surgery. My car started losing vast quantities of oil starting in Oregon. I managed to make it to Reno by adding a couple quarts every 100 miles or so. I had it towed to Roys on Friday the 12th. The did a diagnosis, said it was the valve cover gasket and they could have it done by Monday. I gave the ok just on the valve cover gasket which was $500,couldnt afford to get it all cleaned up. I was assured it would stop the leak,it would just be a mess under there from all the oil leaking previously. I told them I was a woman driving alone 1000 miles to get home so I just needed the leak fixed and my husband would do the rest when I returned. Got it back Monday and left Tues morning. I noticed the mileage coming in was only 1 mile different than going out so I knew it was barely test driven after the fix. 200 miles out in the middle of nowhere in Nevada i realized it was dumping out as much oil as it had been before. Thankfully i had some with me,made it to Elko and bought 3 gallons at Walmart. I managed to make it home 2 days later after adding 2 to 3 quarts of oil every 80 miles. The people that work there are very polite and nice but I was more worried I wasnt going to be able to get home! After paying for a hotel over the weekend since I was waiting on the car and the $500 for the car repair I was tapped out. Im not saying the work wasnt done??? BUT I told them my whole situation and wish they had cared more for my safety
I went to Keystone location...Jimmy was an excellent service advisor...I would highly recommend this place...Very professional...
These guys always do a superb with whatever work they do my car! That’s why I always go back. Very trustworthy!!! This time was a vehicle inspection. Alway awesome, friendly, & safe!
Great service, always do amazing work and get me back on the road safely. Feel confident every time with the work they do
Everyone in the office was more than courteous and professional. The staff was upfront and honest about all the repairs and the mechanic did the most through inspection report I have ever seen. The office guys were super informative about all of the details of the report and were supremely focused on my needs and not selling me on anything unnecessary. The guyswere quick to go over details of the repair plan for the current situation, and any potential future fixes; it couldnt have been better. The single best automotive repair experience I have had. I highly recommend this fine establishment and more highly, its staff.
Customer service was good, however the amount they charged was too high. I didnt realize how easy it is to do the replacement of a mass airflow sensor, so I paid it.They charged me 170 for labor of a part that takes 30 seconds to replace with a youtube video, and $240 for the part which they sell at NAPA Auto Parts(same building as Roy Fosters) and Oriellys(50 ft away) for $130. I knew the labor would be a lot higher than an independent mechanic, but up-charging the part probably more than twice what they got it for is pretty shady.Nevertheless, I agreed to pay and knew what I was getting into, shouldve just done a couple google searches before signing the agreement.
Brad, Jimmy, and Carl did it again! I had a lot of issues with my car, and they actually helped me spend less money to fix the problem. They are actually honest, fair, and work with you. I have been going there since 2010.
I was referred to Roy Fosters by CoAuto down the street. I absolutely trust and respect their recommendation and once I spoke with Brad on the phone at Roy Foster’s I felt listened to & taken care of. After I dropped my car off, I shortly received an update via text about my vehicle and the inspection that they provided. It was thorough and when I called to speak with Brad he took all of my questions to heart and answered them directly. When I picked up my vehicle he walked through everything with me to make sure I was comfortable and also asked if I needed anything else. They went above and beyond! Thank you so much for taking such great care of me I will be sure to share your work ethic and VIP service with everyone that I know.
Professionalism, Quality, and the best customer service I have experienced in the industry. I have had my car in shops in Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania. None of those can compare to the quality of service that youll find here. Jimmy was awesome! Sending me updates and letting me know the condition of my vehicle, he let me know what the issues were when they were found, and informed me exactly what they needed to do to fix it. He showed great consideration, professionalism, and care! The team was hard working and focused on finding the problems and implementing the solutions and from what I could see from the detailed service report, I couldnt ask for a more professional installation of parts and repairs. They cared that my car was running in good condition. My car was in a no start condition with multiple unknown problems and was towed to the shop. Roy Fosters professionals were able to make my old Mercury cougar run again! They worked through all the issues and now I can drive it again. If you ever need service for your vehicle. If you are new to Reno and havent been to Roys yet. This is the best place to go to get your vehicle serviced and back in great condition!
Roy Foster’s is just another auto shop that confirms the lackluster reputation of the industry. I took my car in for a diagnostic on a check engine light, and all they could do was repeat information I had already given them and charge me $138 for it. This is as close to robbery as it gets folks. As a mechanical engineering student I usually do my auto repairs myself, but with the semester starting up I didn’t feel I had the time and wanted to just have the issue taken care of. What a mistake. My technician was David Von Arx, and the desk clerk was Brad Harriff. Brad consistently spoke with a condescending tone and was so determined to sell me a new o2 sensor when the one on the car still was functional that he accused me of using the wrong part to get a sale. At $400 for a $60 sensor and two minutes of work I refused. Additionally, the problem was not the sensor, which I told them initially, but they refused to listen. It ended up being ECM wiring that I had to find and mend myself because I now know Roy fosters is completely unreliable. If their practices were ethical they would have checked the wiring and tried to actually diagnose the problem and justify the repairs. Instead they took the first, superficial piece of information, looked no further and tried to stick me with a huge bill for a non solution. It’s shameful in the nicest terms.Roy Fosters practices a “throw parts at it and hope for the best” model of auto repair. It has been made clear to me that their only priority is to rack up the highest total they can and pin it to you. They look nice because they text you a report with pictures, but trust me, they will try to sell you things you don’t need and overcharge you for it, banking on the fact that you don’t know enough about auto repair to dispute it. It’s hard to find an honest and knowledgeable auto shop, I promise Roy Foster’s is not it.
Took the car in bad shape (Chrysler 300C)they did what they needed to get it right. Vehicle was fixed in less than 2 days even though it was a short time I still was given constant updates. Great customer service even saved me money on all the extra labor it took like I said car was in bad shape. Honest price and great work car runs like when I first bought it. I really forgot that it once ran like this. Also let me know things that need to be fixed in time and suggestions as well. They have great reviews for a reason that’s why I went to them now I have to agree and write one as well!! Excellent work excellent service, great overall experience 👍🏽.
Honesty and accuracy thats what I got here. I had my car towed in because it was overheating. They accurately diagnosed the problem and charged the fair amount. The customer service was great too. Would not hesitate to use them again.
We have been taking our vehicles to Roy Fosters for years. They are honest, professional and thorough. I feel I can trust them for all my automotive needs.
They were polite and professional, and they were up front with their pricing. They were the only shop who was able to tell me over the phone what they needed to do to find out what was wrong with my car and how much each component would cost, and how long it would take. They were flexible with when I needed to pick up and drop off my car, and answered any questions and concerns I had right away. They never tried to charge me for extra services, what they quoted me was what the service cost which I appreciated. They also had good sanitation protocols in place with their service managers and technicians all wearing masks and having designated areas for you to wait to maintain social distancing. They also made sure to sanitize my car before they gave it back to me and left me with a bottle of sanitizer. Ill definitely be going back for all of my routine maintenance needs.
As a senior with underlying conditions I was very worried about getting my car repaired when the check engine light came on. Roy Fosters automotive made all my worries disappear. They picked up my car, fixed the problem and then returned the car to my garage for completely contactless service. They texted a full very detailed report of what needed attention and took care of everything. They even omitted the diagnostic charge. The final bill seemed very reasonable. I’m so glad to have found them.
Happy Spring...Grateful to be blessed with Roy Fosters NAPA Auto Care Services. Sincere TnX.🖖😇🎯

My husband and I recently moved to Reno and were looking for a place to have our car serviced. Roy Foster’s Automotive was recommended to us by a friend so we made an appointment. We were very pleased with the service and the people who work there. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. Our car runs great and we feel confident with the quality of service we received. We will definitely return.
I always trust them to service my vehicles. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Terrible! I will never go back!
They were very professional. The included inspection was informative and easy to understand. They include pictures of your fluids and parts of your vehicle so there are no misunderstandings.I would give them my business in a heartbeat.
We took the car in at 1:30 due to a.c. problems, after making an appointment the previous day.We asked for estimate of the repairs. By 4 p.m. we received the estimate. Glad we did not have to leave the car overnight. Good service.
Just a great place to get an honest evaluation and good work done from a great mechanic there named Vince.
The customer service was amazing and they were honest with their assessments. I felt like they were really trying to help me without ripping me off!
👍
Made a awful day survive able!
This is my second time taking my car to Roy Fosters Automotive. I really appreciate how thorough their inspections are, the comprehensive summaries they provide (with additional supplementary material), and their willingness to educate their client on their car and its needs. I have had my oil changed and brakes fully inspected. I plan to continue taking my vehicle there. Thank you!
Friendly, knowledgable, got the job done. Thank you Brad!!!
First time here after years at another service place. I was looking for somewhere I could trust. I feel that here! Jimmy was amazing and I love all the text updates and communication. I feel very confident in the work they’ve done.
