Love, love, love it!!! Awesome owners and staff, super friendly and very knowledgeable. Clean and pretty studio, great atmosphere. Workouts are intense but not overwhelming, trainers make sure you are maintaining correct form. Highly recommended.
Bar Method is hands down best barre studio out there (and I have tried several). I started coming here as cross training for rock climbing based on a recommendation from a friend. The instructors are very attentive and make sure your posture and positioning is correct so that you get the most out of your workout (and don’t hurt yourself). Plus, there is a great sense of community to keep you coming!

I like classes! Took a Christmas promotion package. Was planning to take some time off and come back later.But they charge my card for $196 for this month without even letting me know that and sending any email notification. Update 10/2019: I have been going to The Bar Method (Redmond) for almost 5 years. I keep coming, because it is still challenging and strengthening my body. I have also experienced increased flexibility and better posture. The owners have recently updated the studio, and it is very inviting. It is very clean, in a great location that is convenient and easy to get to, park, and get a great workout. The instructors are all top-notch, well trained, and friendly. They are very attuned to you and treat you as an individual, helping you learn how to get your body to do things that you didnt think you could possibly do, and as a result you get stronger and more confident. Thank you Bar Method!
I joined Bar Method about 4 years ago and I love it! This is my first and longest exercise commitment ever that I actually crave for it. I love everything about it - the way it makes me feel, instructors, stuff and community. I highly recommend this place!!!
Update 10/2019: Ive continued coming here and it is still wonderful! Still challenging, and it is so great to feel so much stronger. I ran a 15k for the first time in my life and I definitely credit Bar Method for all the strengthening that helped prevent injuries! They recently remodelled their already beautiful studio, and it is so airy, lovely and cozy. Happy to continue being a client here!The best!! I have never ever been an exercise class kind of person, but I have loved Bar Method. Been attending classes for about 10 months now. It is still challenging and fun, and it works! The instructors are all so warm and wonderful, the community is amazing, and I feel so much stronger now. I did a pull up for the first time in my life! I love that they correct you on your form to make sure you are staying safe and in the muscle. The Redmond studio is much easier to find parking at, but both studios are fantastic. Bar Method is my go to exercise in rain or shine. Even after 5 years, I am constantly challenged and leave each class stronger and with more energy. The instructors are so positive and motivating and give me personal training to achieve my best form. I appreciate how explicitly they name exactly which muscles to isolate to build strength and flexibility. That burn gets my endorphins going and I can’t wait to return. I started going to Bar Method, Redmond Studio more than 2 years ago. I tried it out and loved it. I had to take a break from it for a year and came back in 2018 and I am SO happy to be back! I love it. It has totally transformed my body. Long lean muscles, toned and strong but not bulky. My flexibility is also better than ever. I love the studio, its like visiting a spa. Its convenient for the east side with plenty of easy parking and lots of convenient class times to allow me to be successful in going regularly. I have tried other bar studios as well but I feel like the instruction was a lot more personalized at Bar Method. They really take the time to correct your form when needed even in large classes. With new students, they also take time to really help you learn the movements. Had been to another studio where new students were kind of left floundering trying to follow the class. I would totally recommend this studio to anyone.

I started Bar Method more than 5 years ago and still enjoy every classes tremendously. Its a fabulous exercice from your body but it is also a full hour of concentration, breathing, that makes me stronger physically and mentally. The teachers are dedicated and always enthusiastic, dynamic and extremely well trained. I highly recommend the Bar Method!
I have only been doing the Bar Method workout for 3 months and love the results so far, my muscles are significantly more toned, I am stronger, and my overall balance and flexibility have improved. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful when ensuring proper form which helps deliver great results. The workouts are consistently challenging and are different every class. This studio is bright and clean, and the community is very welcoming to newcomers and beginners. I have been coming to The Bar Method for exactly 3 years now. After suffering from upper back pain for the past 20 years and trying several different types of exercise regimens and fitness classes, finding The Bar Method has been the best thing that every happened to me and the only exercise that works for me! I can see the benefits of toned muscles and more core strength from sticking with Bar Method for 3 years. Taking these classes has been medicinal and therapeutic and I cant say enough about how much it has helped me. I cant imagine my life without The Bar Method and I am so grateful to the lovely and amazing instructors and The Bar Method community.
I’ve now been going to The Bar Method for a year and I am amazed at the strength I’ve gained from it. I went in having not exercised in, well, ever, really so it was a bit intimidating. But everyone was extremely welcoming, helpful, and accommodating to my learning curve as well as my past injuries. It’s been the best decision I’ve ever made for my overall health, and I cannot recommend it enough.

Love the studio and the workout!! Ive tried a number of different barre studios and workouts (Pure Barre, Physique 57, barre3), but none compare to Bar Method.The studio - bright and incredibly clean. Everyone who comes in is greeted by name, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The studio floor is carpeted with additional padding underneath, and socks are required - much more sanitary than bare feet (especially when youre doing pushups with your hands on the floor), and so comfortable to have that extra cushion underneath the carpet.The workout - really intense and very form-oriented. All of the exercises focus on alignment and form, and I think thats why Bar Method is the only workout that I leave from feeling stronger and longer. The connective tissue in my hips and low back never feel irritated, and EVERY other barre workout that Ive tried has bothered my hips and low back. Not only does my body feel better, but the workout is so challenging! Ive found muscles that I never knew I had, and my core strength has never been better (despite being a total gym rat since high school).Ive been coming to the Redmond location at least 5 days a week for the past year - it does not get boring or any less challenging, but it is totally addicting!
By far, the smartest exercise program I’ve ever done. I have loved Pilates for years, but Bar Method is much more of a full body workout. I leave class feeling strong and accomplished. The Redmond studio provides a very welcoming and relaxed environment. The instructors are very supportive. I love it!
I have been taking classes at Bar Method for 9 years and cannot begin to even say what this wonderful workout has done for me. I am 62 years old and will continue to do this workout forever. The instructors are caring and know how to make the workout a great experience for anyone. I tried Bar Method only twice before becoming quite sore from an ongoing injury. SO BUMMED because I was loving the classes!! Apparently I had started working out too soon. The staff at the Bar Method are SO understanding and amazing and are working with me to be sure I dont miss out on my intro offer and are just being the most accommodating people I have met... I will definitely be back as soon as I am healed up
I have been doing barre at the Bar Method in Redmond for a year. I am a mature woman who has exercised my entire life. With other fitness programs, I would frequently pull a muscle or hurt my back and wind up in physical therapy. What I love the most about the Bar Method is the way the instructors concentrate on making sure my form is correct.I feel stronger, my abs are flatter, my stability has improved and I am much more flexible, which is so important as one gets older.I also love the welcoming staff and the facility is cute with great touches such as candles, toiletries in the dressing room and keyed lockers.
Bar is a good complement to an active sport. Instructors are friendly and encouraging. I like how they focus on form . Nice to see people of all ages go, including a few gentlemen. Positive, clean and cheerful environment. Good althernative to physical therapy.
This is the place to get strong, feel good, and finally be honestly in love with your workout. I found Bar Method (Redmond) almost 3 years ago and its been a saving grace. Its a beautiful space, the instructors are all so friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. Bar Method classes have helped me build muscles I really didnt think I could sculpt. I sleep so much better, actually resting through the night and waking feeling refreshed and full of energy for the rest of day. I am thankful to Bev, Mikah, Luke, and every single instructor of this most amazing & wonderful studio. Its a beautiful thing!
I love going to workout at bar method. Everyone is so welcoming and it’s a hard but great workout. You see result very quickly if you stick too it. Also is great at being a low impact workout
Love this studio! I can go only once or twice a week due to crazy schedule, but its like going to an energizing therapy session! Everything about this place is amazing - caring instructors who check your form whether youre a new student or a old-timer, super-clean interiors, and the second-to-none bar exercise. I had done Callanetics (too boring - too slow), and barre3 (not effective and hated the attitude of some of the instructors) before. Nothing compares to BM and this studio particularly. Thanks Bev/Sam and everyone - love seeing your friendly faces every week!

I came for the workout, stayed for the community. The Bar Method is a challenging workout but one that you can do every single day. Ive never had to skip a day due to injury or being too sore, unlike other workouts. The focus is always on getting a little stronger each class and the other people in the room are so motivating and inspiring. The instructors know everyone by name and always seem to know what to say to encourage you to push yourself a little bit harder. I have been a member of Bar Method since 2011. I cant recommend this studio enough!

I have been going to The Bar Method for about 8 months so far, and I am addicted! There are so many things to love about this studio:1. The workout is incredible. In 45-60 minutes, you get a full body workout that challenges you every single class. No two classes are exactly the same, so you always get a great variety of different movements and exercises. The instructors are also great at keeping the workouts constantly challenging, even if youve been coming for a long time. In just a few months of working out here, I have become more toned and muscular than Ive ever been in my entire life. I actually have defined abs now, all thanks to The Bar Method! Best of all, the workouts are super low impact and the instructors are very meticulous about correcting everyones form so you wont get injured.2. The studio is so clean, beautiful, cozy, and inviting! Everyone has to take their shoes off in the lobby and wear socks at all time, which keeps the floor spotless. There are lockers for your personal items and the bathrooms are stocked with things like lotion and tampons. There are also free towels for everyone to use each class. The carpet in the studio is padded and is really comfortable to do all of the exercises on. There are couches in the lobby where students often hang out after class to chat with each other...3....which brings me to the people! The community at The Bar Method is unlike any other Ive seen at other studios and gyms. Everyone is so so friendly, from the instructors and staff to the other students. The instructors and staff learn your name immediately and always greet you by your name. After class, all of the instructors and students love talking to each other and catching up on life. The students are of all different age ranges, from young adults to senior citizens, and yet thats no barrier to making friends at The Bar Method. Im 22 years old and Ive spent time after class chatting with other students in their 60s and 70s.Before The Bar Method, I never found a workout I enjoyed enough to stick with it consistently. Now, I look forward to going to class at The Bar Method every day. I love it so much and I am so thankful that this studio and wonderful community exists!
At the age of 44 I had never in my life been committed to exercise. I would start something and get bored after weeks or a few months. Ive now been taking classes at The Bar Method for a little over two years, which is miraculous, and it has changed the way I feel about working out.Bev, Luke and Maika have created an environment that is authentic, unpretentious and welcoming. All of the instructors know my name and they push me to work beyond where my mind thinks I can go and where my body is willing to take me, often to my surprise. They are expertly trained to ensure Im into the correct form for maximum benefit and safety. The classes follow a similar template but are never the same which has kept me from getting bored. Ive never been stronger but the classes still continue to challenge me every day.Needless to say, Im hooked.
I ended up at The Bar Method because I needed to get back into shape after 2 years of no exercise, and I found a killer groupon. I was so surprised how much I loved these classes! They fly by and I was so sore afterwards! The staff here is so kind, they work hard to learn every students name-- a great personal touch. Two thumbs up, 5 stars, A+, extra credit, all the above!

I come out of the barre class at The Bar Method in Redmond feeling stress free and knowing that every muscle in my body including my heart muscle was worked out and stretched. The teachers are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. They are kind and caring and correct my posture and technique whenever I make a mistake. Im thankful that they care enough to fix my errors so I get the full benefit of the class. I have taken classes with Sam, Madyson, Priya, and Deana. They are all my favorites!
Before I started here in September, I was very out of shape and knew I needed something more fun than just monotonous gym routines by myself. A friend recommended that I tried barre, and I decided to give The Bar Method a try since I found a deal on Groupon.Even though its a group class, the instructors are incredibly attentive and helpful to ensure you are getting the most out of your exercises safely. I also really like that all the instructors have their own unique personalities; Ive been to a franchised studio before where everyone has the same style and personality, which seemed very robotic and not for me. My favorite instructor is Erika Jayne. Shes super sassy and sarcastic with some self-deprecating humor sprinkled in, so everyone always ends up laughing during class.Another huge perk for me is that your membership can be used for their SLU location, so if you, say, work in Redmond but live in Seattle, you have two studio options instead of driving all the way over. Ive only gone to the Seattle location perhaps three times now but my experience there was excellent as well.Barre is pretty intense but it really is low impact as they advertise. As I mentioned, Im pretty out of shape and also have a weak ankle from an old injury, and I actually havent had any issues at all. I am really really not flexible at all, on top of all my problems, and even that hasnt really been an issue during barre, and its supposed to help me become more flexible over time. I have been going 10-15 days a month and its cool to feel my body transform and see how my clothes are fitting differently.In short: I love, love The Bar Method! So especially if the Groupon deal is available, I would absolutely recommend giving them a try. Highly recommended.

Ive been coming to the Bar Method studio since they opened on Westlake - about 7 years ago (I think!). I cant say enough nice things. The workout is challenging and changes enough that I never get bored, even after 7 years. Over that time, theyve added new classes like Level 2, Bar Move and Bar Express - so youre constantly challenging your body and mind. Bar Method has seen me through my wedding and two pregnancies, and its not only been the workout Ive needed to achieve fitness goals, but also the most amazing community. The instructors are truly amazing about learning an individuals strengths, weaknesses, goals and life milestones so they can personally coach you along. One last thing - the window! Dont be discouraged from coming because of the window - people rarely actually look in, and its either a nice distraction during class when you need it or you completely forget its there.

I am an avid exercise enthusiast who prides herself on hardcore workouts. I have run marathons, I take 5 am spin classes nearly every day of the week, and I can do back-to-back sets of stairs and burpees without getting winded. As such, I was initially a bit skeptical about taking bar classes and I assumed that the classes would not challenge me enough. I couldn’t be more wrong! After my first class, I could barely walk the next day and I felt muscles that I didn’t even know I had. The Bar Method is a unique workout that sculpts and tones each set of muscles throughout the 45-60 minute class. Each class is different which keeps it fresh—you cycle through the same muscle areas, but you do different exercises and different numbers of reps of each movement so the class is always changing to keep your muscles guessing. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and can spot even the tiniest fault in your form from across the room—your name will be called out a lot at first. Even regulars get corrections, which keeps you feeling accountable and ensures that you are doing the exercises correctly, maximizing the burn. The hour goes by so quickly that I’m almost always surprised when it’s time to stretch at the end. To this day, I feel the classes the next day—they are always challenging!When you enter the studio, you will be warmly greeted by the front desk. The Bar Method staff makes you feel like you’re one of the family from the beginning, thanks to owners Bev and Sams attention to detail and open approach to their business. The entire studio staff knew my name within my first 10 classes—this personalized approach helps you feel like you’re part of The Bar Method family and not just a nameless face in a fitness class. When you attend The Bar Method, you feel seen, accountable, and welcomed, but never intimidated. The studio itself is extremely clean and inviting. There are plenty of seating areas in the lobby where you can chat with a classmate before or after class, candles throughout the studio for ambiance, and great music to keep you feeling energized. The bathrooms are stocked with hair ties, spray on deodorant, hair spray, and tampons, evidence of the owners’ attention to small details—the kind of service and amenities you would expect to find at a spa more than a gym.I’ve been attending The Bar Method for well over a year now and my body has changed. Though I have always been extremely active and fairly fit, my body is now toned in places I didn’t have muscle before, such as my entire back and my shoulders. I’ve lost inches around my midsection and thighs. All this came without any changes to my diet and while cutting back on my cardio. The Bar Method builds lean, lithe bodies and the more you go, the stronger you feel, and the more you start to see changes. I’ve never done a workout that makes me feel as strong, as powerful, or as beautiful as The Bar Method. I strongly encourage you to join The Bar Method—whether you’re a novice or a lifetime athlete, you will find a home at this studio and you will feel supported and challenged each and every day.

Ive been doing barre since 2002, when I took Lotte Berk classes in an Upper East Side townhouse in NYC. When it closed, I then took classes by the former LB trainers, including Exhale Spa and Physique 57. More recently, Ive tried Barre3, Pure Barre, and The Bar Method (TBM).Since most people reading these reviews probably know the workout, Im going to compare TBM to the other barre studios Ive tried and explain why I think its head and shoulders above the rest.1. What I like most about the staff at TBM is that there is NO attitude. Several barre studios Ive taken hav a snotty front desk people or instructors who have cliques of students. TBM instructors are well-trained in anatomy, the specifics of each exercise, and teaching a class effectively. They also have this incredible ability to know everyones name (same with the front desk staff).The instructors are friendly, but they will watch you and give you corrections (Im used to that and like it from taking ballet classes). They do not mindlessly say great job everyone - way to go! which bothers me about other studios, as you know the instructor isnt really paying attention but feels the need to blather away. Also, I love the way they change up the reps with tiny variations and let you know this is the second to last thing - other studios will often have you do endless reps of the same exact exercise for so long that you get bored, thoughts start to wonder, and youre not concentrating on the movement. Finally, I also love that they dont use any yoga speak such as honor your body, and my favorites, side-body and back-body - they use the the correct anatomical terms such as waist and deltoids.My push-up form really improved after the tips given to me by Quyen. They are also funny - Bev, Jenny, Erica Jayne, and Travis always crack me up and make me feel happy during the pain. And Maika is always watching (she reminds me of a pretty Vaganova ballet instructor), constantly giving corrections to all.2. Unlike other barre exercise, there is no wasted motion in TBM; I recently went to a competitors class and so many of the exercises had me in an awkward and uncomfortable position where I couldnt feel the muscle I was supposed to be working, or worse, my lower back was in pain. Each exercise at TBM has a purpose, and you will definitely feel it, especially if you listen to the form pointers. The stretching is just right - not too much, and not too little, but enough that my flexibility greatly improves when I attend at least four times a week. At one point I nearly had my side splits.3. The studios are gorgeous, with free towel service, lockers, showers, and a carpeted/padded surface so that its easy to do floorwork without feeling any discomfort that comes from a bare hardwood floor. There are also hair dryers and toiletries (even tampons!). It is also very very clean; they do not allow shoes beyond the entryway or bare feet in the studio (Ive students being allowed to walk into the Pure Barre studio with their street shoes and bare feet where you are supposedly required to wear socks), and you must use a towel between your body and the mats (the instructors enforce this as well and will remind you, which I appreciate).4. Compared to other studios, I dont like the music. Im an insufferable, KEXP-listening music snob so Im not keen on the top-40 pop stuff they play.I tried a much less expensive barre studio that is two blocks away from my house. The instructors werent as knowledgable or professional (two other studios allowed phones in the studio) and I decided to go back to TBM because even though its further away and about $55 more per month, the instructors make it completely worth the extra time/money. Parking is available on the street or in the Whole Foods garage - I usually buy some stuff there after class for parking validation. There is also a bike rack right across the street at the museum.
Adore the staff, community, workout and strength I’ve found at Bar Method! Could not be happier and recommend it to all of my friends!
