Needed to replace a 19 yr old Carrier unit. Cooling Unlimited sent out a helpful Salesperson, got a very reasonable quote same day and scheduled the installation. The installers did a masterful job and cleaned up when they were done. The only sign they had been here was the welcome return of a cool air supply to our home. We’re sold. I called this company to repair a system malfunction error issue for the furnace that they installed for me eight years ago.The technician came and spent about 1/2 hour on the phone with the manufacturer technical support. Tech support was able to solve the problem on the phone also he mentioned that the issue is related to the initial set up that should have been done when the system was originally installed “I paid $328.00” A couple days later I noticed a large stain on the ceiling from a water leak exactly beneath where the furnace is in the attic. When I called this company to tell them to come in to figure out what was causing the leak. It was not an issue before their technician was here. The manager told me that I would be charged for a diagnostic fee. I asked her to send a technician to check what could have happened that was likely caused by the recent repair. On the phone she said “I can tell you right now before we send anyone that it is not our responsibility and you will be charged again.” As mentioned in other reviews this company does not take responsibility for anything. I hired a technician from a different company who immediately noticed that the hose coming from the furnace was not connected to the water pump and draining onto the floor of my attic. The furnace was left open with the furnace door on the floor.I emailed Megan the manager/owner a week ago and she has yet to respond. This leak not only damaged my ceiling, but also cost me time and money for their technician’s carelessness.

I started the process by getting estimates from the top 3 local vendors. Cooling Unlimited by far exceeded my expectations. They were on budget and even completed the work earlier than they estimated.I appreciated the attention to detail. They made sure my daughters closet was sealed up until the next day so that would not frighten her. They listen to my concern that a hole might concern her and they made sure it didnt. The crew from Cooling Unlimited showed up about 8:45am to replace my existing AC system with a new one, which was about 15 minutes after all the materials were dropped off. They were efficient in their work processes and the whole job was done by 2pm. They were neat, laying down tarps on my wood floors so that they didnt damage them and cleaned up afterwards. Overall, Cooling Unlimited was very competitive with their bid and they completed the job to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend using them for your AC needs.

I contacted Cooling Unlimited for maintenance on my five-zone ductless mini-split system. This company did the install for me in 2018 and this was my first maintenance appointment. I spoke with Megan who provided me the estimate and scheduled my appointment. She was able to squeeze in an appointment when I was home rather than having to take time off from work. Kevin was the technician who did the work. He was a nice guy who answered some questions I had. The work was done in about two hours. The job site was clean and Kevin wore a mask the whole time. The tech was very professional and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. But they did it without a hitch and we couldn’t be more pleased. Jason is very knowledgeable and responsive and he set up Mass Save rebates and the paperwork for us for a loan through Mass Save. His price was very competitive. Mike, Matt and Danny were punctual, efficient, and respectful of our home. They vacuumed/cleaned up nicely at the end of every day. They rescheduled my appointment window the day before, and then flaked. The technician performed work that had not been authorized, for which I’m being billed. The parts needed for my unit (filter and thermostat) were “not in the truck I brought, but you can pay another service fee for us to come back.” Not professional. Not respectful of my time. Not planning to use this company again.

My Carrier 5 ton A/C at home stopped cooling. They did a great job of repairing it, including thoroughly cleaning the evaporator coil and checking all the pertinent readings on the system to be sure there were no other problems. Very pleased. I know the company well. They installed 5 new rooftop units on another property of mine last Fall, and did a very good job. There were a fee issues with the equipment, but they stayed on top of it until it was working properly. I highly recommend them!

Was told by a few other companies that it was impossible to install central AC in my older home with no attic and a finished basement. But Cooling Unlimited figured it out and installed one within our budget. It wasnt easy, but Sean and the guys pulled it off. They showed up everyday on time, cleaned up and completed the job right on time.

I first came across Cooling Unlimited over the summer of 2015, i was searching for a company that could install an AC unit in to my home. After having 5 different companies come and assess the job; Cooling Unlimited were the only ones who showed up ON TIME, were professional, and more importantly seemed to have all the knowledge with the proper sizing and type of equipment that would be required for my specific build. Their pricing is on par with everyone else, but the real savings come with their quality of work and knowing that you were not sold garbage.I am a landlord, and i have since this initial encounter have Cooling Unlimited service all my properties for heating and ac. They do offer different levels of services, i opted for their Gold service. This gives me peace of mind in knowing that i have a company that is there for me for when i need them; and i have.Last winter one of my furnaces died at 10:30pm during one of the coldest days of the year. i panicked because as everyone knows this is when heating companies are at their highest demand, and trying to get one to come out to your home is quite difficult. I had a great experience with Cooling Unlimited. We were in the market for a new high-efficiency HVAC system. The estimator was knowledgeable and thorough, and patient with my questions. He stayed in touch in case I had questions. I compared the offer with other vendors I checked out and it was a good price, so we went with them. The installers were friendly, worked hard from start to finish, left the work area clean, refused to let me buy them lunch, and I couldnt be happier. P.S. And everyone wore masks for COVID safety. Overall, a great experience - I highly recommend them. I got several quotes and this was not the cheapest one, but I decided to go with them because A. they were most responsive (email, text or phone call, they respond to all), B. they were flexible and agreed to sub-contract my preferred carpenter for the construction pieces, C. the equipment they offered me was better (more efficient) than the competitor, D. they offered information and help with MassSave high-efficiency 0% heat loan and related MassSave rebates.The job was replacing my broken heat system, including backup heat / air handler (inconveniently in my bathroom ceiling) and heat pump / condenser (inconveniently on the roof of my condo complex). The machine is a Bryant Evolution® Variable-Speed Heat PumpModel 288BNV (which is 18 SEER/12.5 EER cooling efficiency and 11 HSPF) and the air handler is 5-speed variable. The new thermostat is the companion Evolution® Connex™ Control.It took a few weeks to get contracts (including sub-contract), MassSave heat loan sorted and schedule the job, but once is started, the heat replacement itself took only 2 full days, including removal of old equipment, crane to reach the roof and electrical. The heat removal / replacement was exactly per the provided schedule. I think there were at least 6 guys working on the heat equipment at various times. The ceiling construction (4 other guys at various times) took a bit longer than I initially expected (1 day demolition of bathroom, as expected, but 3+ days of ceiling reconstruction, which included metal frame, drywall, plaster, paint and 2 installed metal hatches), but that was my preferred subcontractor and he did a fantastic job.All the people who came to my house were professional and knowledgeable. The preparation and cleanup was a little inconsistent depending on which guy was there; sometimes it was 30 minutes of prep with paper / plastic on all floor (including through the doorway) and cleaning so thorough that it was cleaner than I usually keep it; other times it was a cloth tarp quickly set down with a quick wipedown and sweep at the end (not as clean as I usually keep it), but I appreciate that everyone made an effort to clean the job site at the end of each day.I havent had the new, efficient system long enough to see an appreciable change in my energy bills (this April was slightly less expensive than 2018 April bill, but hard to say if thats just inconsistent weather or the new system), but I can definitely FEEL the difference. I LOVE the new 5-speed fan system, which goes soft if just maintaining a temperature or harder if needing to change multiple degrees (which it can do much quicker than my old system). Also, its smart enough not to put the fan full blast while theres still cold air in the ducts (my old system used to blow cold air when it first turned on and had only one speed).During the project, they swiftly handled their part of the MassSave heat loan application, responded quickly to questions, and were able to deal with challenges (like the narrow height of my bathroom ceiling) and changes (e.g., an unrelated plumbing project in the building which had impact on my condensate drainage pipe). They also submitted both MassSave rebates on my behalf.Although I generally like to support smaller businesses, having a larger business for this project, with a dedicated sales person / project manager (Jason Shea) made this project a lot easier for me. Sometimes you get what you pay for, and I think in this case, choosing a more expensive service gave me a much better experience. Also, on a side note, this project involved people of various skin tones and accents; white guys, Brazilian immigrants, they all did a great job - thats what makes America great, a mix of talented, hard-working and diverse people.I would definitely use Cooling Unlimited again and would recommend to anyone in the area who needs heat replacement.

We called Cooling Unlimited because we had no heat in a couple of zones in our house (on a very cold day). It was Sunday, so after hours. A technician answered promptly and was at our house within an hour or two. He figured out the cause quickly, installed a replacement part and then stayed a while to make sure all was well. Would definitely recommend this company. And shout out to Brad, the technician for being very capable, responsive and friendly.

My AC service professional (whose name is escaping me) was on time, polite, and thorough. He gave me good advice on the remaining lifetime of my 20 year-old unit without trying to upsell me anything. Apart from not being free :-), pretty much a perfect service experience.

I have been a customer since, I think, 2010 when I replaced my HVAC system. I chose them because in order to get the Mass Save rebate at that time I needed to 1) purchase an Energy Star product and 2) have it installed by Energy Star certified technicians. At that time, only 6 were listed on Mass Save and Cooling Unlimited was closest to me. I have never had occasion to regret that decision. I have a service contract with them. They come twice a year. They are professional, timely, and communicative. They always keep me apprised of appointments with reminders and changes by text msssage and e-mail. I have recommended them to neighbors in need.

Im very happy with the installation of my new split heat pump system by Cooling Unlimited. I purchased a new heating and cooling system for my father about a year and a half ago. Total cost of the system was over $10,000. Weve had countless problems and no real answers from this company. My dad, who is 84, frequently has no heat or a/c at times and they charge him ever time it breaks down. Its broken down at least 6 times in a year and a half. I dont know where all the great reviews are from, but this company has treated us very poorly and takes no responsibility for anything.

This company is outstanding. I found them Recomended by Google Nest for servicing Nest thermostats. Today was a very hot day and my nest thermostat stopped working (ran out of battery). I checked what I could for loose wires. Shortly the entire AC for the house stoped working. The company although fully booked, made an effort to come in the same day. They Called when they were near and not only promptly fixed the AC but also Brad(very good, sharp guy) found and connected the missing wire to two of my nest thermostats. As a result my system works better than ever before. The price as quoted, very reasonable. Also they sent updates via texts and emails which helps with understanding the pricing and their schedule.Highest recommendation.

Its been a couple of months since Cooling Unlimited replaced my central air, which included the condenser, fan coil and replacing older refrigerant with 410A refrigerant. We are very satisfied with the work done. Jason was very responsive and professional. The install team was punctual and left the place clean. We selected Cooling Unlimited from five contractors who offered proposals to install central air conditioning in our home. The entire process from initial inquery to completion was as smooth as silk. Jason Shea, Sales Engineer, responded to our initial request for a proposal within a few days, scheduled a site visit which fit in with our availability, and sent us a detailed proposal within 24 hours. He also returned in response to our request to consider a different technology, as well as during the installation process.Once we accepted the proposal, the installation was scheduled to begin within two weeks. Cooling Unlimited took care of all the necessary paperwork for Mass Save for both the rebates and the 7 year/0% financing.The installation crew team members were hard working, knowledgeable, polite, friendly and respectful of our home. They left our house each day cleaner than it was when they arrived, which was not easy considering the insulation conditions they had to work with in the attic. Beyond that, I was struck by how much they really seemed to enjoy their work. Our house is a two story colonial without existing duct work, which meant duct work had to be run from the attic, through the bedrooms on the second floor in order to cool the first floor. They were very clever about the way they installed the ducts in the bedroom closets and managed to preserve all of the shelving and clothes hanging poles without disruption.In summary, we would not hesitate to recommend Cooling Unlimited.

I called to schedule an central AC tune up and they sent Brad to do the job. He did great work and was very professional. I will definitely use them again.

I found Cooling Unlimited over 10 years ago when I was searching for an HVAC company to convert my heating system (from oil burner-radiators to gas burner-forced hot air) and my cooling system (from window AC to central AC). They did an amazing job. Initially I did not subscribe to a yearly maintenance plan...what a mistake. A few years later my heating system failed in the middle of the freezing winter. I contacted a different HVAC company located closer to my home but they were unable to order parts needed in a timely fashion. In desperation, I contacted Cooling Unlimited and informed them of my situation. They responded with a sense of urgency to help me. They had the parts on hand and they quickly repaired my heating system. I have since been subscribed to their maintenance plan (they perform onsite scheduled maintenance twice a year). I have experienced no issues with either systems since. The staff is always very professional and very friendly. I am so happy I made the right choice as my HVAC system provider!

Cooling Unlimited did great work. I had used them before for a furnace installation. They arrived on time for a water heater replacement. They finished the job in a half day and completely cleaned up. They went through all the necessary information with me and explained the new system very clearly. I would highly recommend.

I recently had central air installed on my 120yr old house. It involved installing the air handler and ducting in the attic and punching ducts through closets. Im glad to report that they did an excellent job that exceeded our expectations. They were here for a week and the guys were nice and easy to hang around with. They were very exacting and spent a lot of time locating the vents perfectly. They also used top notch equipment. Its been installed about a month now, through a pretty good 98F heat wave, and its working excellently. Best house reno decision we ever made.

I had a great experience working with Cooling Unlimited. They installed central AC from scratch and also replaced my boiler and H/W heater. They were very professional, well organized and made sure the project went as smoothly as possible. The installers were very courteous and certainly knew what they were doing. The follow-up with MassSave rebates and inspections was also excellent. I would recommend them to anyone with HVAC needs. I worked with Jason on the estimates and paperwork, Mike on the planning, Joe led the boiler work, and sadly I did not catch the name of the lead on the AC work - but he was excellent too. The whole team was amazing.

I had the Cooling Unlimited team change out 3 aging electric heat pumps with more energy efficient ones in Dec of 2018. Yes I have electric heat in Massachusetts and yes it took me a year to write this review. Dennis the owner sat down and walked through his plan, from cost to installation and even qualifying for Mass Save rebates. The project was on time and on budget. They even cleaned up some attic duct work that the previous home owner had not sealed correctly. Matt the tech was outstanding as well as the folks at DeRosa Electric who were brought in for their electrical expertise. Cant say enough good things about our experience with the Cooling Unlimited team.

Excellent service at a great price. Cooling Unlimited as one of three companies I considered for the ductless AC install at my home in Cambrige. I chose them based on price as well as the high degree of skill and thoroughness of their sales technician. They further showed great patience and flexibility in scheduling the install as I had to reschedule twice due to other work being done on my condo. The techs who performed the install were fantastic as well. They overcame a couple of tricky logistical issues and did great work.
