Stopped in to use this planet fitness with my membership everything is extremely neat and organized the facility is kept clean meets the standard or better of most planet fitness Ive seen across the country the showers were a little dated and heavily used but clean. I would recommend this as a gym to go to on a regular or if youre just passing through and need a shower.

Planet Fitness always provides a great on the road workout.

I was just there getting a tour with my husband by a wonderful and helpful employee. I understand it was a judgement free zone and that was tested. A lady spoke to the staff member very rudely. She said to him she needed help and made it clear to him and us that she was already a member there. What a low, judgmental, bully!! If people have power over you for already being a member, then you allow it. I would like to be shown that you are okay letting members like that go so we all feel comfortable and safe mentally and physically. Patience is clearly needed in that situation. Sorry to this staff member. You were generous and amazing!!! You deserve better from your members!

I have been thinking about joining a gym for quite a while. Not to lose weight, but to get some strength in my arms and legs so I dont have to rely on others to help me so much. If I want to move something I dont want to have to call someone else to do it. So yes I wanted to build up my muscles. I did my research on line and to me the place that offered the most for the least amount of money and my personal needs was Planet Fitness. I personally opted for the Black Card membership not for the ability to have someone go with me which is a plus, but for the hydro massage to use after my work outs to loosen up my sore body I just put through the wringer. Ive been going several days a week for over a month and very pleased with the facility and its workes. I do recommend them over other gyms in the area.

So the good is its very clean, including the bathroom & showers. Very hot water which in great & not always the case. The equipment all seems to be in working order & clean. Rhiannah & Oliva were awesome! Very pleasant, helpful & they were always ckeaning. ..they need raises for sure! The not so good, the place is small, like really small, cant image how long a workout would take on a weekday??? The Total Body Fitness is different from any other Ive used....no music, not very stimulating, the bulbs were not nearly as bright as others & the last two minutes there was nothing but light, no vibration. Also they close at 10 pm due to COVID. Overall a good place in a pinch.

Ive been to many Planet Fitness gyms throughout the country and this was not a great experience. First, the gym is super small, which wouldnt be too much of a problem if I had known that ahead of time and could plan to come at a less busy time. Second, absolutely no one was wearing masks or social distancing at all. I came to work out and decided to skip it and just take a shower which I needed to do otherwise I would have left right there.The showers were not cleaned so I chose the least dirty one. The shower head did not work properly so the pressure or water stream could not be changed. The water was warm, but not hot. The drain kept popping out revealing the metal hole in the bottom where my shower things could fall in if they fell. There was also no hair dryer in the locker room.The girl at the front desk was nice and said hello and goodbye. I didnt see any other staff.

Brie is fantastic! She really cares about you, and is a wonderful coach and encourager. Shell help keep you motivated until you are strong enough to stand on your own.

Came in after 9pm, bathrooms were filthy. Water pressure is low. No spray. Mildew on the showerhead. I ended up leaving since it was so disgusting. The Gym looks clean but seeing that bathroom. I wouldnt go back.

Pure filth in the showers and locker room, no hot water until further notice. Most poorly maintained gym Ive ever observed. Pathetic.

Doors were locked.. I personally wanted to to talk to someone.. Kinda felt like a fish out of water

I enjoy working out at PF throughout the week. Although I would hope they become 24 hours on the weekends as well. If many other PFs are 24 hour seven days a week ours should be as well. Thats my only gripe other than that, everything else is great!

Incredible gym for the price! Showers and lockers are available. Staff was exceptionally customer focused. Equipment and facility was clean and sanitized.

Although a very cost effective place to work out, sadly when signing up, I was told a multitude of things that ended up not being true. After the 4th misunderstanding I cancelled. Ethics matter, hopefully they learn from the talks we had. Still decent people, just possibly bad incentivization to get sign ups, or just need better coaching on how to informing potential members. Also make sure you wipe down stuff prior I watched far too many people hardly wipe or just walk away without wiping especially in the massage chairs areas.

The free weights needs more room and could use more light over there, kind of dark and dungeony. I guess the eyes adjust.

Best place in town if you ask me.

The quality has started to plummit downhill which saddens me. The locker-rooms are dirty constantly, the machines are dirty constantly (despite staff cleaning them all the time which boggles me). The equipment is strung out everywhere all the time, the grips on certain machines slide, are ripped, are overly sticky, and are in poor condition overall. It takes PF forever to fix machines which causes extra traffic in certain areas of the Gym. This has always been a problem here, but since the gym reopened months ago, this problem has multiplied and has myself and others I know who attend PF considering switching facilities for higher quality.

By far the best bang for your buck. Around ten dollars a month or 25 for the fancy black card membership. The black card membership has all the nice perks like the tanning beds or massage chairs. If you pay for the massage chairs in the mall at least 3 times a month get a membership here, I would be cheaper and youd get more. As a gym it pretty good but can be hard to get a good workout during peak times since you might have to wait for a machine. I recommend them.

Pretty good gym, the staff is great and its kept really clean. Free weights are a little lacking but they have everything you need for most workouts. Mike was super helpful when I was signing up

I travel in the medical field and have gone to somewhere around 10 different planet fitness gyms. I enjoy all of the gyms each one is different but I was very displeased with the one in south Dakota. I carry my phone my head phone case, wallet, my keys, my water bottle, and sometimes something else. Very small stuff but not able to carry with you easily. I was told I could not have a bag at this gym, because of risk, it has to be in the locker. Im assuming risk is tripping hazard, he said if he lets me then everyone is allowed.. I have never had any planet fitness ever have a problem with it. Im very careful its never in anyones way. One of the comments at your gym was his wallet was stolen in the locker room. Makes me that much more frustrated. That is not a guideline, because I travel in the medical field to 5 different states under covid. It may be a branch policy, like I was told by the manager.

Someone stole my wallet in the locker room, it has everything i need to live in the USA, talk to few employees there and also the Manager, she basically says nothing they can do. She said we are in north of rapid so... what kind solutions is that, my suggestion please be aware of your belongings take care of it, and for the manager please find solutions to avoid same thing happen to other valuable customers.

I really think its the place to go for fitness,your left alone to do your own thing but if you have questions they are always there to help

Sadly I had to put an end to my membership last week. They treated me with absolute professionalism by refunding my membership fee for the month/year immediately and without harassment and the funds were back in my account within a few days. Amazing company...thanks and Ill be back

Really liked visiting planet fitness rapid city sd. Very nice people working there. Clean facilities. Not crowded. Very, very nice. Highly recommended.

Love this place! Its the only gym Ive been to that simply lets you do your thing without having to deal with body builders (or wannabes) strutting around trying to impress everyone. Theres a great selection of machines as well, and the cost is minimal. All in all, I would recommend PF to anyone thinking of trying out a gym.

Staff very friendly, very clean during this time where a higher than usual level of cleanliness is necessary and they exceeded my expectations. A wide variety of machines to choose from, massage chairs and a stretching area for post workout relief, clean locker/bathroom area with showers. All in all a great gym to have a weekly routine at.

I’m a little behind on this experience, but bare with me. The Friday before Labor Day, at Planet Fitness in Rapid City SD, I forgot my hoodie that was given to me by my wife for my birthday back in March. I realized I left it behind and called the next morning to see if they had it in lost and found. The young man I talked to found it, but I had already headed out of town for vacation and he said he would hold it till I got back.When I returned, the hoodie was gone. I was a bit disappointed, but it was ultimately my fault. The young girl, I believe her name is Kaylee, took my name and number. Two days later I came in and she had discovered that my hoodie, along with other items, had been taken to her boss’ house to be donated.On my next day at the gym, she handed me my hoodie and I couldn’t be more thankful.There have been many moments, especially this year, that I have been disappointed in my fellow Americans and especially the youth. However, Kaylee (I hope I’m getting her name correct), went above and beyond and deserves a huge thanks and a pat on the back.Thank you Kaylee for renewing my faith in humanity.

I would have given five stars, but there are a couple things worth mentioning. First, safety and cleanliness are maintaned and properly encouraged. The staff knowledge is appreciated for those of us who are more serious about better health and lifestyle. My observations of concern are of equipment Maintenance and upkeep as many machines have issues with the interactive touch membrane and one has been broken for months . Parts and service may be an outside issue here for maintenance. I do not know . The other concern I have is with what may be a newer member of staff that is more of a confrontational personality than a people person. Since there are many people that use this business for rehabilitation and Senior living improvements, I am concerned with his potential interaction with those struggling with real life issues .With all that being said, planet fitness has many programs and much to offer for many .

Nice place to work out. Memberships are very cheap. Equipment is very nice. Atmosphere is pleasing. Its even open 24 hours on weekdays. The only downside is the young people tying up the weight machines as they text away with no regard for others.

I highly recommend Planet Fitness! Its a great feeling to know I can go to a gym and not be judged because of my inexperience of using machines or weight. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I feel welcome everytime I go. I got a black card so I can bring a friend with me and dont have to go alone all the time. Theres multiple TVs that you can watch and even hear by plugging in headphones to the machine youre using. The facility is very clean and sanitary. Its just really a great place!

Over all pretty good place but for a 24 hour facility it really isnt, weve had this membership long before COVID started and this location offers 24 hours but really its only open when convenient.

I love this place! I don’t know about the gentleman working in the morning though. I usually get a massage before and after my workout, but today I’m just getting s massage so I asked for a 15 min deep tissue. When he handed me the coins he said “we don’t usually do this but I will this time”. Like he’s giving me something special. Sorry buddy, I pay for my membership so it shouldn’t be like that. Beyond that, this place is great. It’s alwsys clean and stocked and never smells. Perfect place to get in to shape so join right now!

Would not let my son work out when I explained I had no sitter and he is 10 and knows how to work out the manager said I would be held accountable for others who get hurt but I seen a white lady with her son who looked like he was 5 or 6 and he was bothering people working out so I dont know if it was we were people of color or if white people have privilege

Love this place! Always struggled with getting into a gym and feeling comfortable and confident...but the environment makes it an easy decision to want to stay fit and healthy. The machines are easy to use, the variety of weights is great, the staff is always helpful and friendly and you CANNOT beat the monthly membership cost! If you dont have a black card membership, you are seriously missing out. The massage, tanning beds and red light therapy are all an amazing addition to a workout! I

I was in and asked to have my account put on hold till after my cancer surgery. Was told by the lady behind the desk not sure how to do that and she would get it done and I left her my phone number to have the manager call me if questions or needed proof from my doctor. I go in today to reactivate my account and it never got put on hold. So for the last 570 days they have been taken money out of my account. Needless to say the money comes out of a medical account that we have. I never noticed they were still taking the money out till today! Yes I should of followed up, but trusting people by their word was my mistake. I asked if there was anything they could do and both Chris, the club manager and Jordan, the district manager said nope. You should of signed a cancellation form. But I give them 45 days notice. Life is crazy when you are thrown a curve ball and I had so much else on my plate. They are not a customer service place. Wasn’t asking for the full $500 back but maybe a few month for their mistake. So funny that they take your money and pray you never come in so they can keep your money! Karma will cone around because it is never busy and there are more places in Rapid city to go to! Don’t t recommend them to anyone!

Very clean indeed! Kind staff. Plenty of room. The place where you put soap hold water :( the hot and cold are backwards, the shower curtain is clean, under the rubber flower mat by shower is nasty!!! But overall a better experience than most PF

This is a great gym with a hassle-free policy if you want to stop your membership. I stopped and restarted my membership a couple of times and always came back because of there policy. Great rates too. Super affordable and very clean up to date facility.

I have driven across the country from Miami to Seattle and most everywhere in between, and planet fitness is my gym. This is probably the most well-managed location I have been to-- sparkling clean, well stocked, friendly staff. Chris and team are doing a fantastic job.

Judge free while staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Clean environment and well maintained machines sets this place above the others.

I have been a member here for about 3 months and have always had a positive experience. The manager, Alan, calls my husband and I by name which makes us feel like valued members/customers. He and his staff are super friendly and personable. We love PF :)

I like the gym and the equipment. Staff says hello when walking in the door and helpful when needed. I liked the 30 minute circuit when first started going. About 2 Machines per target area (not all). Even when busy, I usually get the machine I want relatively quick. Monthly cost is awesome too!The stretching area gets crowded and Ive noticed not many people wipe the mats after using them in this area.Free weight area is small and crowded as well. Only used that area once and did not feel comfortable with the amount of people in the small area.

Here on vacation visiting family and has to get some gym time in after all of the food we’ve been eating while here, and this is definitely one of the nicer Planet Fitness locations I’ve been to. Staff was very helpful when my card wasn’t working and got everything taken care of pretty quickly.

Just joined today and was already blown away by an employee. The gentleman that got me squared away and signed up was the asst. manager named Chris. They simply do not come nicer or more professional or just plain fun than Chris. Employees will literally make or break a business. If this is the caliber of personnel at this gym, I am already psyched. I havent even started yet and right from the moment I walked in, he made me feel like I mattered. Why cant everyone be like this? The manager was also awesome! Infinity thumbs up!!

This Planet Fitness is kept clean and in good condition (and recently underwent an expansion!). The manager, Alan, is professional, friendly, and offers good workout suggestions. I find the atmosphere to be comfortable and well suited for my somewhat intense workouts.Planet Fitness offers a lot for ~ $12/month. Join us and.. Stay FLUFF! - I mean buff!!! ;)

Went in today being from a different planet fitness and the guy there, Peter, was super rude hassling me about my card and membership. While Im trying to figure it out another member comes in and scans his card. Peter then gives him a hard time saying he looks nothing like the picture that was taken and still tells him its not him when he shows him his photo ID that matched the name on the card. Love every planet fitness Ive been to and the staff but he takes it away on rudeness. Definitely would rather go when Peter isnt there

Busy between 4:30-6:30 pm but good prices! I love how if you pay for the black card you can bring a friend for free and have many benefits included.

I am so glad that I joined. I can actually feel comfortable at this gym. Everybody is polite. I really like all of the options that they have there for working out, tanning, and relaxation.

I have worked out at the Y, The Gym, and In my home. None of them have the freedom and options that PF has. I work out before work and to have everything available to me at 3 AM is fantastic. Great staff, great facility and great attitudes!

Planet fitness definitely exceeded my expectations. It made all my worries and anxiety about going to a public gym disappear. The whole atmosphere is great and everyone there are respectful to each other from what I’ve experienced.
