This place has gone downhill in the last 1-2 years. I have a commercial account and ever since the last commercial rep left the service has been horrible. I have called several times over the last 3 months to get follow-up work done after carpet needed to be stretched. Customer service says they sent an email to ALL of the managers to try and get a response and still, no response. Be careful, you may have decent service when they want to get your business but after the fact you are stuck if you need follow-up.

We had hardwood floors installed in our Grand Dining Room and Home Office. The did a great job on the installation. The install team led by Mr. Pena we fast, neat, courteous, and communicated well throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend S & G Carpet.

Actual scheduling and installation was great. Its quality with speedy installation. The onsite estimate and material arrival date can use some improvement. The ETA was off by a couple of weeks, and the follow though was a bit haphazard. Luckily, the realtor who knew the place well helped me bridge the communication gap.

I guess since you can only leave a 1 star review as the lowest I will say that that the star belongs to Bill at the Rancho Cordova location. He has been very nice these years.My complaint is the installers. Not good. I have had a portion of my house flooring replaced and 8 apartment units replacing the carpeting with vinyl planks and everything has gone ok for the most part. When the installers did have to sand it was a little bit of work cleaning up but not so bad.Well, a few months ago S&G installed floating planks in a one bedroom (Job RC 315380) and when the installer was done he asked if everything looked good and I looked at one walls floor and there was about a 3/4 gap where the planks did not meet the wall. No baseboard would cover that up so I pointed that out to him. I knew at that point I knew he did not care about his job.Move to 2 months later (Job RC 31662) and I have a one bedroom with floating vinyl planks being installed. Same guy shows up. I ask if cement floors need to be sanded and he tells me he didnt think so. I give him my cell # and tell him I am 2 doors away. An hour later I walk in and the place is just a cloud of dust. He says he had to grind the cement floor. I look at him like why didnt you tell me, I am two doors away. I would have closed the bathroom door, put up the bedroom door, and thrown a tarp over the kitchen appliances. He says he had a vacuum cleaner on but I believe he is lying because everything is completely coated with dust. In my experience the last 10 years never has anyone done such a poor job in catching the dust.The next day I spend 8-10 hours vacuuming and wiping down the bedroom, walk-in closet, bathroom, and kitchen appliances, which could have all been avoided if he had notified me and I had spent two minutes covering it up. I worry that if the installers have issues like this then I do not really want them on my property at all.

We are very happy with our recent floor installation....the installers were on time, very polite and they worked so hard all day long...the result was great and we love our new flooring...they cleaned up everything before they left ...would recommend this company ...very professional in showroom and in our home..

They have a really good selection and very friendly and helpful staff. We went there looking for hardwood floors for one room, their price was much cheaper than other companies. They were able to schedule someone to come install but he called in and they rush scheduled us for the next day which might have been the best thing. We got Tony to install the floor for us, he worked so hard and was very patient when I asked him questions. He did a great job and was very quick and professional. He also recommended hardwood floor cleaners that wouldnt harm that type of wood and makes it last longer looking like brand new. I really appreciate my experience with them, I will for sure come back for any future flooring needs and will ask for Tony to install.

This company is so professional and fast! They did a goregous job installing LVP and baseboards in my home, so we ordered more to complete my den, and they had it ready in one day!!! Highly recommend. The whole team is great and I will never go anywhere else for flooring!!!

The whole process from choosing the wide plank waterproof flooring in the display center; agreeing on a price and time of install and the install itself was very professional. The installers showed up on time; were neat and clean throughout the installation process and the finished job looked great! My wife and I could not be happier. I highly recommend S&G. This is the second time I used them. they installed carpet about 12 years ago for me at the same home.

The company was super helpful and was able to get everything done in about a week from picking out a carpet I liked to the installation. Also the install only took a couple of hours.

I had a project that other carpet shops down the road told me was too small for them to do (or at least thats how it felt) went to S&G and they had no problem making my small project feel like a vip experience. The shop at home experience felt very safe during these covid times.

The quality of the service was excellent beginning with service provided by Sherrie Beine in the Showroom. She was very helpful in selecting the product, and also considerate in giving a discount. The follow-up visit by the representative to measure the room was good. I particularly want to thank the installer for his fine work. There was a large crack and uneven area in the concrete subfloor and the installer offered to make a trip to Home Depot to purchase repair compound and leveled the area before installing the carpet. He could have just let it go. I had also mis-communicated desire to install underlayment padding and the installer was very cooperative and flexible. He really did a great overall job.

S&G did a fantastic job and our new floors look incredible. From the initial salesperson, Dani, to the estimator, Brian, to the team that helped with my final selections, and then the install team, everyone did a great job. Thats the power of using a family-owned company -- they actually care. They even followed up with me afterward. Oh and they were early completing the install! And my house is old and therefore presents lots of challenges in regards to flooring, but because the estimate had been done thoroughly, and was properly communicated to the installers, they didnt have any surprises that would delay the install. The luxury vinyl plank that we selected with the help of S&G staff looks and feels amazing, and we love it. Thanks team!

S & G is as good as they get. I purchased floor in 2009 and they met my budget even though I was installing the floor myself. Fast forward to March 2018...I bought a new house 2 years ago and it was time to install floors. I had a great experience before so i figured I give them a go again. From the time we walked thru the door to the time the floors were completed...smooth transaction. I had a very tight time window, meaning only this week we had to install floors or we would have to wait til end of May. Cody (and Steve) helped us select floor samples, sent out an estimator and had them ordered the next business day. While waiting for floors to arrive I contacted the scheduling dept so I can chat with what our options are for a tight schedule. I spoke to Brandon and he helped pencil in this week so we can hold the dates (cant scheduled until floors are at store). I also explained that after reading many reviews about hit and miss installers I wanted the best crew available as I had many little things that I wanted done during installation. IMO we did get the best crew and they went above and beyond what I expected. Issac (lead), Gustavo and Alec were absolutely wonderful people to work with. Every little thing I needed done was done and more. My biggest worry was how to install floors with our existing hearth and wood stove; they went out of their way to remove the wood stove and hearth, remove the carpet, installed the floors and reinstalled wood stove and hearth. All holes I needed drilled into the new floor was done, existing hatch matched so we can access under the house, and so much more. If you can request this crew I highly recommend you do. They also made sure to clean and double/triple check all work was completed to our satisfaction. OH and of course our budget was met which was important too. Thank you guys for making our house more beautiful than it was.

We had a kitchen floor installed by S&G. From our first visit in the SJ Almaden showroom until the floor was installed, the folks @ S&G were courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and professional. We were undecided on the floor we wanted and Aurelia patiently went out of her way to accommodate us and got more samples for us to take home until FINALLY I decided on the floor I wanted, which BTW was the very first sample we had taken home. 25+ years ago we bought carpeting and vinyl flooring from S&G and they still have the same friendly, accommodating spirit they had them. I would definitely recommend S&G for any flooring needs you may have.

We already knew exactly what carpet we wished to purchase. My quest began by looking for a reputable nearby store with good customer reviews and knowledgable personnel. Pricing was fair and the time from ordering thru installation was timely. Id like to mention that I did do my homework and was in contact with two other carpet stores. One major retailer OVER estimated, stating I would need to purchase 25 sq feet more carpet than S&G The second local business was extremely unreliable and never did show up! S&G showed up for the measure as promised, were quick to provide me with a fair price as well. The carpet was ordered, arrived quickly and the install team arrived at my door within the time slot S&G gave me. The installation team was professional, courteous and did a fantastic job. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND S&G!!

Called and went in right before they closed and walked out with an appointment for carpet measuring the next day and can get the carpet installed in about a week versus 3 weeks AND will match home depots price. Thats how you take care of the customer. Were looking forward to new carpet very soon.

My husband and I want to thank S & G for the great service we received when we recently purchased engineered hardwood for our living and dining rooms. The wood is beautiful and the installer did a fantastic job! We told the salesman up front that we have a dog, and needed a floor which would be compatible with our dog. We discovered after a few weeks that this flooring does not have as tough a finish as our old hardwood, which was refinished 5 years ago. I called and talked to the manager, Mr. Cavanaugh, and explained that the floor seemed to scratch very easily, and he sent Wayne Brumfield out to do an inspection. Wayne graciously offered to have some area rugs made for us. We picked out a carpet at the store and within a couple of weeks we had the new rugs. Poor followup and empty promises. We have purchased flooring several times from S&G and had great service. This recent purchase of new flooring failed with our showroom rep failing to submit our order and causing a 1 week delay. After talking to manager Bill who promised to check the delivery, he passed off the responsibility and failed to follow up. As a result no call that product was delivered. After 2nd call to manager everything was synced up and installation completed. Not likely to do business with S&G rancho office anymore and will look at other suppliers. Say what you are going to do and do what you say! New staff and new manager, need to learn customer service and follow up.

Very positive experience and I would recommend S & G Carpet to friends and family. It started off by the showroom experience, we were left alone until we were ready for help. Cody was our sales person and was extremely helpful and patient. He showed us several different products and once we narrowed our search he was able to provide us with take home samples along with ordering special samples from the manufacturer. He set up our in home measuring and was in contact with us via phone and email. Once Cody emailed the quote to us we were able to compare with some other business’ (Simas Flooring, Gold River Flooring, Lowe’s and Home Depot). Surprisingly S&G was the best value and price for us. Best quality and product selection we were looking for. We installed over 1300 SF of Metropolis Gingerbread Laminate flooring and over 2400 SF of S&G label carpet, Eternity Series. We took our time to find a product we liked and S&G beat everyone’s price. Every new quote produced competition and in the end S&G won our bid. The quote was detailed and laid out all of our flooring needs. There were no hidden fees. Once the money/quote was completed then the set up for installation went flawless. Francisco, from their scheduling department worked with our vacation schedule and was able to schedule the whole installation in one week. The installers, Javier and Able came out and completed the whole house installation. Javier was very professional and they went above and beyond to keep every area clean and tidy as possible. Javier was very meticulous and detailed oriented when it came to the laminate installation. He and Able took all the baseboards off (all in good shape) and carefully put them back. The installation had some difficult to cut areas that he completed perfectly. They worked mostly from 9-5 but some nights worked until 7PM. Javier and Able were a crew that could handle both hard surface and carpet installation. Every night they would review with us the competed work and discuss the progress that they wanted to complete the next day. Every night Javier would ask us if we had any concerns or comments.S&G store staff was great, installation scheduling department was easy to work with and the installers were exceptional. We spent a lot of money at S&G and received a great product with great installation.
