GO TO PUBLIC STORAGE.Moving is already stressful, and this location has made it 1000x times worse. I work remotely and decided to work abroad for a couple of months. I got a storage unit here as a one month free was offered. I return and try and enter my storage unit for the first time… and the key does not even enter the lock. I go to the front to ask for assistance and they told me that this sometimes happens and I’ll have to get a lock smith. There is nothing they can do… I HAD TO PY FOR A LOCKSMITH FOR A KEY AND LOCK THEY PROVIDED. The manager here is unprofessional and downright useless. Save your money, time, and headaches.

The lady over there asked me to leave the key in the truck to let her check me out at a later time and she promised me to provide return confirmation via email by the day end. I did not receive any email and visited the store again the next day to get an update. She started claiming that I did not leave the key in the truck and, thus, she could not check me out. She also asked me to pay for the key if I do not have it. Even though I repeatedly told her that I left the key in the truck, she was not ready to accept it. I then retrieved the key right from the same truck. She then check me out without any sign of remorse or a simple Sorry.

Partner and I have used these guys twice in the last two years, and we’re happy both times. Both times I came in, I was helped immediately upon entering by people who had genuine smiles (albeit behind masks) and great customer service. Unfortunately I can’t remember the awesome lady’s name who helped me the first time, but shoutout to Justice for the excellent service and kind words. Much appreciated guys, we will be recommending your location to our friends and family.

I would give ZERO starts. Terrible experience at this location on June 28, 2021. I had reserved a truck to move out of state and once I arrived to the location the General Manager noted that there were none available. She didnt know why. Unbelievable waste of time and my money! On a top of that, the price went up for us because we had to change the pick location and a date. Not out fault at all. The location is impossible to reach by phone to verify or ask any questions.

I second with the lady above says about the propane. Due to her review I went to the one outside the beltline, and they didnt have anyone qualified to fill the tanks there. There was a customer loading up a tank ahead of me. He explained that he had already been to the one downtown and reported there was a leak in their system. he also reported there was no one qualified to fill a tank at the outside beltline location. Complete fail.Weak sauce.

Wow, had a terrible experience here yesterday. Tried to refill a propane tank. Went inside and waited for about 10 mins, with my 3 yr old. Was told that someone would be out to fill it. Went outside, finally saw a different employee after another 10 mins. She told me to get someone else, who told me she couldn’t do it bc she was ‘in training and didn’t know how’…. Went back to only employee who seemed to know anything. They told other employee to get a certain person and tell them I need propane…. Finally, that employee came out and said there was a hole in the propane line and they couldn’t fill it….?? Oh, and I’d need to drive to the next closest Uhaul to fill it. Total waste of time, with my 3 yr old to keep entertained the whole tome. Avoid this place at all costs.

Matthew and his colleague were great. I visited the store on Sunday (1/3) and it was cold and dreary outside. Matthew was not only friendly and helpful, he was kind enough to help me get the boxes out to the car. He and his colleague were very patient about helping me find boxes and when we experiences a small discrepancy with the pricing, they both worked to figure out what happened and fixed the issue--basically, something was in the wrong place and thus the pricing was incorrect. I appreciate how friendly and helpful they were because people CHOOSE HOW they want to do their jobs. Though Matthew and his colleague obviously know their jobs, they CHOSE to do their jobs with a smile, patience, and excellent customer service. I needed the boxes so making a sale was a given, however I left the buying experience feeling like a valued customer. Thanks guys, keep up the good work!

Me and my boyfriend have been planning on moving to Florida. Last month in November he reserved a truck and car dolly for December. Moving day arrived we went to pick up the truck and car dolly from budget only to find out that they don’t have the car dolly available. We didn’t receive anything from that company that would let us know that in advance. While in the Waiting room for budget to get in touch with someone; my boyfriend was on the phone with uhaul customer service and that representative found a truck and car dolly and a store that was open before noon on a Sunday. We had movers coming at noon and wanted to be on the road by 3pm. Hence why we were at budget by 9 am. So because of budget poor customer service uhaul was a saving grace. We were able to beat the movers and be on the road. Customer service was great at this location the lady was very helpful and resourceful.

I usually dont leave reviews or have issues renting Uhauls, but I had a terrible experience at this location. I had reserved a truck and once I arrived to the location the General Manager, Crystal Bilardo, noted that there were none available. I waited there for an hour, while she was working on it. She never gave me an update, and I was lead to believe she was getting a truck. After a wasted hour, she told us there was no truck. Even though we received no apologies or anything, we still needed moving mats. When we were trying to check out (she had already scanned the items), Crystal literally paused to have a conversation with a coworker in front of us about some test advice for 10 minutes...acting as if we hadnt already waited for an hour. Overall, terrible customer service from the General Manager. I would advise using any other location.

Worst place in town to rent a Uhaul. Manager is rude for no apparent reason other than the fact that a customer walked in. Other employees are selectively helpful to customers providing valet service for the truck, being friendly then being short and snarky with others like me. Also of note: my storage unit had trash in it when they rented it to me in spite of the employee “on duty” walking to my unit to visually inspect it before approving my move out request.

Absolutely worst customer service ever experienced. Took over an hour to get checked in, their system was down and told us we had to do through an app which took forever. Then we were just given the keys and told to find the truck in the lot on our own. Overall just not helpful and terrible customer service.

Well I don’t typically have any issues with any of the U-hauls I’ve been to in the past. Typically I order a U-Haul then return it and they automatically charge the remaining balance once it’s returned. I got sent to this location bc the other locations didn’t have what I needed and so I used the uhaul for one day and returned it to the staff. A few weeks later I get notified that I have a remaining balance which included charges for returning the uhaul the following day after closing so I was charged with 2 day plus an after service fee. Please train the staff at this place to do their job better and maybe things like this wouldn’t happen to valued customers anymore.

Listen - dealing with U-Haul is never easy, nor is it ever fun. Ive had more bad experiences with U-Haul than I can count.Ive been to this location twice, though, and at the very least I can say that the customer service here is great. Some of the most helpful U-Haul reps Ive worked with, and was in and out very quick both times.At the end of the day its still a U-Haul and you should always expect some sort of problems to crop up. But Ill give it 5 stars for being the best U-Haul Ive been to!

I had a bad experience with refilling the fuel tank at this location. I drove my truck 4 miles and put in 1 gallon of gas to compensate. They then tried to tell me that the fuel gauge was too low upon my return. I had to provide photos and return to the location twice to add 2 more gallons just to avoid paying $56 in fees. They also admitted to me that they misread the fuel gauge and still made me put in additional fuel. Please don’t rent from here, or be sure to take your own fuel gauge photos because their staff is reading them short at the expense of customers.

Good experience. Needed to make confirmations about an upcoming move and supply rentals and the staff was great. I’ve purchased a lot of supplies and the guys are usually helpful in getting it to my car. Overall, pleased.I have to pick up a truck for a cross-country move soon. Hoping they continue to impress.

The staff here is wonderful to work with. We had a hiccup in our reservation for a moving truck, which we were scheduled to pick up after hours. We happened to run into a staff member on his way out 30 minutes after closing, who was more than happy to stay even later to help us out. He was so wonderful to us, and wouldn’t even accept a tip for his extra time. Thank you u-haul for a great experience!

Manager Ana Fuentes is proactive and incredibly helpful. I scheduled service online for installing a hitch and it turns out what I chose would have limited my options down the road. It would be so easy for the staff to let me make a mistake and go about their day, but Ms Fuentes made a point to explain the options to me. I decided it would be best to change my service, so she had someone drive to another location to pick up a more appropriate hitch and I got everything taken care of that morning without any issue.

My mother had rented at Uhaul and everyone that work there are very nice. They try their best to work with us customers. I see the comments that other people are saying, i just feel sometimes the customers are not always right. My mom said the CSR was very nice and actually help her. They clean, and they are human. Keep up the good job uhaul!!!!!!! Iam going to used you all again!!!!!

I was extremely impressed with the manager. He did a fantastic job at helping me install a new trailer hitch wiring harness despite the fact that he doesnt typically handle that specific task. I came in with a tight deadline and the mechanics were out but he rolled up his sleeves and did everything needed to help me make it. He did an awesome job and Im certainly coming back to this location in the future.

Great customer service.I was installing a trailer hitch there. They could not finish the job on specified time, so they provided me a rental truck for free until the next day. Next day my car was ready with the trailer hitch on. And I had an opportunity to drive a great truck. I would definitely recommend this place for trailer hitch installations.

I respectfully gave this U-Haul store a 2 star rating when in all honesty it might deserve a 1 star or no stars.So I returned my rental van this past Friday 5/30/2019. Unfortunately, I have been ripping and running the past several days so I did not notice my black box full of colognes and toiletries was not in my storage unit until Wednesday morning (Thankfully I purchased Storage through the CubeSmart Self Storage company right next door and not this U-Haul store). I then realized I had left the box on the dashboard upon returning the vehicle since this was the last item I meant to move into my storage for accessibility purposes. I gave the store a call and was forwarded to a call center who noted my issue and said the store would contact me in 5 to 10 minutes.About ten minutes later Dyonte Steele (Store Manager) gave me a call and I spoke with him. He informed me that he had not seen a black box and one hadn’t been turned in. A couple hours later I visited the store in person (approximately around 2:30 PM Wednesday 6/5/2019) since I needed to go to my storage for a couple of items anyway. I inquired about my box to another employee who was behind the front counter at the time. After describing the missing item, this individual mentioned they had saw the black box and proceeded to check under the counter where apparently the lost and found is located. After a quick search and no luck, the employee stated “let me check in the office and see if my manager put the box in there.” Unfortunately, the office was no luck either. The employee then stated, “let me text my manager and see where he put the box”. After waiting a few minutes for a reply from the manager (who I assume to be Dyonte who claims to not have even seen the box), the employee stated that the manager did not know what happened to the box.Personally, I am of the belief that my box was stolen by an employee, being that the retail value of the cologne and toiletries in the box was over several hundred dollars. Unfortunately, cologne is not an iPhone or other electronic device that could be tracked down by GPS. I would have been fine with the box not being found had there not been great discrepancy in the employees’ account of the whereabouts of said box. There are clearly cameras in the corner of the store towards the front counter. I believe this matter could be settled very efficiently and expeditiously with a quick review of that tape. However, nothing was offered to me in terms of attempting to locate the box. This store obviously does not practice integrity when servicing its customers!

Total scam! They prices they show are nowhere close to what you will actually pay. They claimed that the tank was 3/4 full when you get the truck but it was barely full at all. I was charged a 30$ service fee and 4$ a gallon for gas. Go anywhere else to rent a truck

Be sure to monitor your credit card for additional charges from this location! I paid the full amount for my rental when I picked up the trailer. I later returned the trailer after hours and completed the online rental return using the mobile app as instructed. The next morning I was charged an additional full day of the rental due to an error on their end. I had to call to have the charge credited back to me, but have yet to hear back from a manager to explain the error. I even described the billing error within the mobile app when I returned the trailer and indicated that I did not agree to the additional charges outlined on the bill. Terrible customer service.

Dropped off the truck I rented. Parking lot needs more light to help customers know where to go. Also, the sign to drop keys was very little and on a door that looks like an employee enterence that is away from the main enterence. No idea how the staff is since it was after hours.

Editing my 5 star review to give it a one star. Anna is VERY RUDE and has the worste attitude! Instead of fixing a situation she gets an attitude with me and hung up on me. All I asked for was emailed receipts. Apparently that is VERY hard for her to do. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with here! Uhaul records every conversation so we will see what they think when I call corporate office especially since I also own multiple corporate accounts that we use uhaul vehicles every day on.

GM speaks broken English and will treat you horribly if you ask her to repeat herself. I reserved the van 3 weeks prior to the date I needed it, and because I was tied up at work she threatened to cancel my reservation if I was over an hour late (reserved it for 4 hours) to pick it up.

DO NOT get a hitch installed here. They screwed mine up and the specialist who supposedly knew what he was doing simply went home at noon, leaving the job UNFINISHED. They were incapable of properly installing the wiring system, AFTER theyd already installed the hitch. They refused to remove the hitch, yet it was 100% useless without proper wiring. Partly this was due to the fact that the remaining specialist indicated he didnt know how to remove it. All this after being sent away TWICE due to them not having all the parts to do the job. I still may sue the bastards...

Terrible experience. Had to downgrade from a 10 truck to a 9 van because they wouldnt have any available when originally I was told they would. Then when I showed up to pick up my van and reserved 2 furniture dollys, they said they were out of dollys. It ended up taking me twice as long to move because of both the inconveniences. I returned the van at 10 pm after they closed and they tried to charge me for an extra day. They also keep charging me the incorrect amount. Way over what I owe. Dont go to this location.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF MY LIFE FROM THE FACILITY OWNERWe rented a storage space from Capitol Blvd Uhaul downtown in December to store a leather sofa and some other stuff. We declined their tremendously overpriced insurance primarily because standard homeowner’s insurance policies will cover losses in storage. (Check your HO policy before you buy).The week of Xmas we were out of town. We got a call from Uhaul, telling us that there had been a water leak in the building and that there appeared to be water in our storage unit. We got to town the next day and found that water was indeed covering the floor and our leather sofa that was standing on end was soaked through. Other items were damaged as well.The leak was caused by failure to empty a condensate drain in the building. We were told by staff at Uhaul that the unit needed to be emptied of water daily and that no one took care of it during Xmas. Apparentlhy it had happened before as well. Clearly a failure on Uhaul’s part.Uhaul offered us nothing. I was told to talk to the owner Paul Smedburg. He could not have been less concerned, offered not even an apology and told us he would offer no help (not even a month’s rent refund) because we didn’t buy his insurance. I would understand that Uhaul wouldn’t pay a claim if they were not at fault (fire, tornado, whatever). However, the damage occurred because they didn’t conduct daily maintenance. It’s clearly unreasonable that we should have to buy insurance from a merchant to protect us from his negligence.Our homeowners policy covered our claim but we lost a $500 deductible, and the claim counts against us if we file again later. Again no help from Uhaul.This is easily one of the worst two or three customer disservice interactions I’ve had in my life. I can’t convey how unhelpful, disinterested and completely unconcerned Mr Smedburg was about what occurred. It was astounding. A perfect storm of incompetence, fault and horrid customer relation.Smedburg owns the downtown facility at 716 Capitol (or is the frachisee, or whatever) and the other large Uhaul center on 3001 Capitol Blvd. This guy deserves no one’s business.
