David Rowe is professional and very knowledgeable in Tax Law and provides the most comprehensive review of my tax returns. The staff is very helpful, accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend David and this office for all of your tax needs.

I used H&R Block software to do my own taxes. I was being audited so I met with Mr. James Morgan at the H&R Block office on Capital Blvd for help. He was friendly and professional at first. During our meeting, he made copies of my tax return so that he could review it. We agreed we would meet in two weeks after the holidays. I called multiple times after *three weeks*, and finally was able to reach Mr. Morgan. He told me he lost my tax paperwork and could not work on it. He said hed continue to look for the copies, but also gave the excuse it may have been shredded as part of end of year practice per office policy. I spoke with management and they offered for me to meet with someone else, but provided no resolution to the lost tax paperwork.If my identity or family members idenity is stolen because of this gross mismanagement, I will take legal actions against this office.DO NOT USE H&R BLOCK on Capital Blvd!!!

I really love the service H&R Block provides, but the fees are a bit steep- I understand that these fees are there to cover the work and effort and processing of my taxes and that they are overall unavoidable- but regardless, the fees make stop and consider doing my taxes on my own in the future, if only for a moment.

I do not recommend these guys to prepare your taxes. I had to make three different visits to have my taxes done correctly. That is a total of three hours of my life I will never get back. I originally went to the office closest to my home in Raleigh. They made a huge mistake on my return. John told me I was getting a huge refund. Upon getting home and reviewing his work, I discovered that he had made an egregious error. I was supposed to only claim one dependent and not two. If he had been listening and not telling me his life story and talking about sports this mistake would have been avoided. I then went to one of the Raleigh offices to file an amended return. The tax pro there told me that she had been to a Bachelorette party the night before and was still feeling hungover. She told me that I would have to pay back some of the money that I had originally been refunded on my first return. I got home and reviewed her work and discovered that she had made quite a few mistakes. The amended return that she filed for me said that I was getting another refund on one part of my return and I was even on the other part of the amended return. She also did not file the proper paperwork for one part of my amended return. I knew something was off because she had to ask a lot of questions to other personnel in the office so I made another appointment to file a 2nd amended return. The tax pro that I dealt with the third time knew what he was doing. He was a true professional. He corrected the mistakes that were made on the amended return and he even found mistakes that were made on the original return. Finally the nightmare and stress was over except for having to pay back part of my refund that I received from the original return. I will not have these guys prepare my taxes next year.

I got them my taxes in March, they never contacted me I had to reach out to them multiple times and once I finally got a hold of them they told me they could not find me taxes and did not know where they were and they would let me know if I found them it is now June and they have yet to start on my taxes. The people at the desk answering phones are very rude.

Wish zero stars was an option. Do not go here. Made an appointment to end up waiting behind a full lobby of people. After 30 minutes, overheard an employee state, all of these people waiting have an appointment, but none of their tax preparers are here. At that point, I walked out. Whats the point of making an appointment if their employees wont even show up to honor them?Almost wish they could pay me for wasting my time waiting for nothing.

Our tax preparer Nancy Gillespie is extremely professional and thorough. Shes the reason we come back. We trust her. Heres something I dont like. H&R block asked for this review. They dont tell you up front they want to post it here on Google Services. Then after taking the time to fill it out, you find out you cant even submit it unless you agree to post it. Its made me so mad, I might not use them next year despite the great job done by Ms Gillespie. Shame on you H&R Block.

My husband dropped off our taxes and never heard from them again.Nobody answered emails, nobody answered the phone or returned our calls, NOTHING. Deadline passed and they just decided not to do our taxes at all.

HRBlocks 18 yr tax expert messed up my taxes and had to make an ammendment the very next day after I pointed out his mistake. He never said sorry. Now IRS will take its sweet time since ammendments take months to process! I will never go back.

I called due to concerns about my taxes and was treated very rude. I was yelled at to hold on then once I noticed the disrespectful tone I asked what her name was. The rude receptionist or whomever answered the phone hung up on me. I called back five times and phone was picked up then hung up! Very disrespectful and should not be working dealing with peoples tax money!

The tax preparer took time to fit me in,even though I had no appt. She was patient and attentive to details.

My tax specialist, Lashandra Aigbe, answered all my questions and took the time with me. She is very patient and handled my difficult situation very well. There were timely responses through the website as well.I have never used a company before, it was a bit pricey, but I very content with the work that was completed.

The Raleigh office (Nancy) found and fixed a problem from last year.

This year my tax prep and the process around it were quite different in then my past experience. The tax pro was nice but adequate. I had asked for a senior preparer and was told that would happen but turned out not to be the case. My real problem is with the H&R Block scheduling system. I know that we are not living in ordinary times, but I watched nearly a dozen people, half of whom had actual appointments, turned away. The reason given was that the corporate scheduling system doesnt match what they can do, locally. So people with actual appointments were told theyd need to file extensions. Fortunately, I brought my tax info in a few days prior to July 15th, so I didnt face this problem. But I will tell you that H&R Block certainly lost a few potential customers for this year and probably will face a lot more as these customers surely wont choose the Block next year, and Im sure theyre telling everyone they know, and along with my own issues, where Ill go, myself.

Had a terrible experience, my emails were ignored, messages ignored, took almost a month for my rep to even complete my paperwork.

Dropped my taxes off April 20th and still have not received a single email or call back or update despite me calling the location I dropped them off at every month. Everytime I call someone swears they will call me back or tell me I have the wrong location or they cant find my papers. Ive talked to people from the 1800 number, other locations, other branch managets. Ive looked into the IRS website and they still havent been filed. My next call will be to the IRS and the BBB.

Ease of the process.

My mother had a confirmed appointment today for 5pm made via the HR Block website. We get to the office, and an employee says that they will not see anymore people today. We tell her that we have an appointment at 5, and she says that our appointment was made by corporate in Kansas City, and they don’t know NC social distancing rules, and they won’t do any face to face appointments. Furthermore saying, we have to cut off people at some point and now is the time even though they were seeing people face to face in their office, they just would not let anyone else in. They then had a Manager named Michelle come out and say the same thing, but did not offer to honor our appointment or offer an apology for the appointment mixup since it was HR Block’s error. She did not offer to file an extension to the IRS on our behalf, and didn’t not offer any help except to use another service such as Turbo Tax. Very unprofessional and no customer service.

Very dissatisfied. 2 employees walked by me when I came in multiple times and never said a word. My taxes were lost and never completed and i was never notified of anything until I came to get them. I would never come back or recommend this place. Absolutely furious.

Had an appointment last week with Jim. He started preparing my return - which I needed to complete an equity line application. After about 30 minutes he said he couldnt finish my simple return and asked if he could finish it on Tuesday. I said that was fine and I left. I have been calling and leaving messages all this week but no one has called me back or completed my return. Cant get my equity line done without the return. Have left messages with individuals in the office but no response. I guess I will just have to take my business elsewhere. Unless you have something simple I wouldnt bother with these folks.
