Purchased a sub and amp from Mr. Joe about six months ago. Yesterday both of them were fried. Went back today and Mr. Joe stood behind his products, not only that but did the installation himself. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for car audio!

The gentleman who answered the phone really knew his stuff! In fact, he talked me out of getting a new usb-c plug installed in my car for rapid charging (which the 10 prior places I called knew nothing about). He did this because he knew the specs of my radio and that it wouldn’t support rapid charging. Highly recommend!

Very friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to speakers. Went to audition several brand and models, including Revel, Focal, and Elacs. Was very impressed by owners knowledge and advice! Was able to help figure out ideas within several price ranges and sound signatures. Would recommend for home audio needs and to audition speakers for ideas.

Brought an amplifier in to Audio Exchange with a very strange problem, produces turn-on noise, but only when bi-amping speakers. Joe really worked with me about the issue, contacted the manufacturer, etc... He charges a bench fee (about $28.00) to look at something, with pre-discussed possible repair costs. Joe spent time working on the amp, but did not charge extra, as the problem was not fix-able. This is a great audio and repair shop. Joe is very knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoyed working with him, and will gladly give him business in the future - the best recommendation I can give.

I didnt purchase from them but the amount of expertise I received on the phone saved me a LOT of time. I was trying to decide whether to have someone attempt to repair an old car cd player or just replace it. They walked me through the pros and cons of each and gave me an estimate that given the description I had great confidence in. Extremely professional.

Audio Exchange has been my go-to shop for home stereo repairs for decades. They do excellent repair work at very fair prices. Joe helped me this week to determine whether repair or replacement was my best option on my Yamaha home theater receiver that I bought about 12 years ago. I had debated replacing it for months before finally asking Joe about it. He saved me several hundreds of dollars based on his vast expert knowledge. I left the receiver with him for repair of an output part this week and had it back home in about 36 hours. It sounds brand new again. They even cleaned out the volume control pot. I am thrilled. Joe is a great guy, a true Raleigh icon when it comes to stereo sound and advice. If you need repair of any of your home theater equipment, I highly recommend this shop. Think twice about throwing away your older electronics as they dont make them like they used to!

I was looking for a complete package for my new home. I did some research and finally ended up with Audio Exchange. Joe and Randy helped me with setting up my living room TV, AV receiver and whole-house speaker setup as well my game room home theater system. Joe likes to explain every detail so that beginners like me can understand. Both Joe and Randy are very professional, courteous and competitive. They have delivered what they have promised. I am glad I chose Audio Exchange for my needs and I would definitely recommend them to others.

I just purchased a super hi-fidelity “audiophile’s dream” / home theater system plus a music server and upgraded in wall speakers throughout my home. Joe was extremely knowledgeable, non-pushy, and really focused on what was best for my needs versus selling me stuff just to sell me stuff. He actually talked me out of buying a few things.I ended up having some questions about the system a few weeks after installation and Joe called me back promptly each time, patiently answering all of my questions. I had an issue with my music server last week and Joe brought me a brand new one tonight and replaced it at no cost. Great service + great quality products + expert knowledge = great place to buy stereo equipment.

Called to see if they had a specific product in stock. The gentleman went above and beyond with information and alternatives. Went over pricing regarding my requested product as well as alternative pricing. Came into shop and received the same level of quality assistance I did over the phone. Pricing was fair for the quality of product I received. This company stocks only high quality products butane order anything you need.

The only excellent local alternative to the flashier Audio Advice. The owner Joe is eccentric, loyal, and a serious audiophile himself. Unlike the sales-based shops, Audio Exchange runs a fully loaded electronics shop and does basic-to-unholy car audio work.

A man working at the store assisted me for ~20 minutes free of charge to fix the arm on my record player which was actually just incorrectly adjusted. After adjusting it for me, he walked me through the process of how to adjust it to different cartridges and even gave tips and advice about record players. He went about doing all this in a polite, helpful, and knowledgable manner.

I had a Bose remote for my old Lifestyle 25 surround sound system. Inside the remote the antenna had become disconnected from the board. I has fixed it once before myself, but my soldering skills were not good enough and it fell apart after a week. I stopped by without notice, I quickly explained the problem to the tech and he fixed it in about two minutes for a VERY reasonable price. Thank you very much for the quick work!

Unless u want your system to sound like grandpas old do it. They wont listen to what u want or care for that matter. Know it alls that think everyone spends thousands of dollars for what they think u should have. Its never right unless u bought it or had them do it. I have a home theater at home, not in my car. Over charged installation, all they did was switch 3 wires from dsp to another, charged over 100%. I will say he gave me a good price on equipment, guess he new was making it up with installation. All together he charged 200$ to switch 3 wires and do one preset, which he left out midbass.

A couple key takeaways from a few visits to Audio Exchange.-Joe is indeed an expert, and his knowledge of high end components is extensive and current.-Joe acts condescending some times, particularly if the customer is not interested in the aforementioned high end components. The whole condescension thing wasnt what kept me from buying a head unit, however. He stated that the business is an Alpine Certified dealer, yet the Alpine USA websites dealer locator does not list it. Whats up with that?

Audio Exchange has good products, but I am not impressed with their installation techniques or their support.Instead of finding a good mounting solution for my vehicle, they did a spit and bailing wire job that did not last. I have since remounted the speakers myself with an aftermarket adapter. There is a permanent crease in the suspension foam of the speakers from where their installation came loose and caused the speaker to be pressed against the inside of the door panel. Also, I had a crossover stop working. They fixed it. Unfortunately, fixing it seems to have involved soldering bypasses around the failed components rather than replacing it. (The crossover has adjustable slope and db adjustment for tweeter. This do not appear to function after the fix.)Much later the crossover actually came apart inside the door. The coil was completely undone. I called and was told to just push it back in there or to bring it in and they could do the same. This really wasnt what I imagined as a lifetime warranty. I tried to call back a dozen or more times and get no answer.Live and learn, I will fix it myself and move on.

I have to agree with the other people who mentioned he is very condescending. I went there to look at audio equipment racks and ended up receiving a lecture on why my equipment probably sounds like garbage. In my short time there he tried to tell me about exactly why my speakers sound bad (speakers he has never heard of let alone listened to). He even tried to correct how I described them physically. He also told me about how I shouldnt buy a Monoprice Monolith amplifier because they are outsourcing the manufacturing overseas (they arent). This would be not as bad if he just recalled things incorrectly and allowed his misstatements to be corrected but he was sure that his equipment was better and my equipment choices were inferior.Perhaps he was condescending to try and push me to be interested in the equipment he had, but it didnt work. Perhaps he saw that I was young and assumed Im just a dumb inexperienced kid, also not true. Ill take my DIY speakers and Marantz receiver over anything hed push towards me.
