I highly recommend Crosspointe counseling. If you are hurting from things in your past or the present, suffered a loss or just want to live without carting around all your baggage, this is the place to put it all at the foot of the cross. If you have a good marriage this is the place to help you make it great and if you are struggling in areas of your marriage you can find help here. Theirs’s is a unique counseling style, everything they do is through the redemptive, restorative, pursuing, never failing Love of The Father for you. Dr. Clark has helped with me with all of the above. My husband and I came to him just after his cancer diagnosis. Dr. Clark helped us with dealing with that journey and some of the issue we brought into our 39 year marriage. Because of Dr. Clarks help we had some beautiful moments along the way before my husband passed away. After which Dr. Clark helped me through the grief and he is continuing to help me.
My review follows years of counseling here. I feel I should warn you that while the counselors here may be able to help you with some issues, they are not licensed. There is no clear protocol for what to do when something terrible happens and a client gets hurt. The truth is.. this ministry has zero accountability. If you have a complaint, there is no way to escalate. Youre basically seeking counseling at your own risk. There are other licensed Christian counselors in the RDU area and I would prayerfully encourage you to work with one of them instead. As always, seek the Lord about every piece of advice anyone gives you and leave if you feel the advice contradicts what you hear from the Lord, and what you know to be true based on His word. Hindsight is always 20/20 but I really wish I had left sooner. My experience left me traumatized and deeply hurt, greatly adding to my original problem which brought me to counseling in the first place.
We had a wonderful experience at CrossPointe Biblical Counseling. Our relationship was a the point of ending. Our counselor helped us to see how our wrong views of who we are and who God is were affecting all areas of our life. So many of our relationships were unhealthy. The work we did was hard. Sometimes I wanted to quit. It was difficult to see the negative behaviors we brought into our relationship. We continued to do the work and it changed our lives for the better. God definitely used CrossPointe to change us and our whole family. We recommend every one we know to become the best they can be by getting counseling here.
I am so grateful that a friend referred me to CrossPointe. I was struggling with so many areas of my life. I had sought counseling before but never found real help. I was so relieved when I realized that Dr. Clark was willing to help me, not judge me. He helped me to look at the past hurts of life and see how the past was ruining my future. He showed me how God loved me and cared about my situation. I soon realized my own value because I was valuable to God. My relationship with Christ was my new found confidence. Looking at your behavior and your thinking patterns is not an easy process. It was hard to take responsibility for the things I had allowed and caused in my life. I realized I could only be healed when I trusted God and walking in confidence, not victimhood. I strongly recommend CrossPointe to anyone who desires freedom.
I recommend seeing an actual licensed counselor. The services I received here for nearly a year were traumatic and damaging. I now know many others who share this experience but unfortunately without a licensing board, the damage can persist without any form of accountability. Please be careful.
I’ve been seeing Suzanne Simmons for almost a year and she is seriously an answered prayer. She is gentle, yet bold when needed and really encouraging as I dive deep into thing of the past. The Lord has truly given her a gift and so much knowledge. Would recommend her to every woman I know! She’s such a blessing from the Lord.
I had a life changing experience at CrossPointe. My counselor met me were I was in life with a perspective I had not seen in other counseling. I had lost my desire for life and found no joy in the good things around me.Through the counseling process I discovered a person in me I never knew. I began to take on new challenges and embrace who God created me to be. I found joy in time with my family again and stopped looking to them to meet needs only God could. I am a stronger person now and I work to have healthier relationships with everyone in my life. What I learned at CrossPointe will help me to be the husband and father my family deserves and will hopefully affect future generations.
I would strongly suggest seeing an actual licensed therapist. My experience was erratic, bizarre and ultimately very damaging to my family.
I was referred to Crosspointe during a time of crisis in my life. I had already seen three other therapists, two whom I had regular appointments with for months with no progress whatsoever in my situation nor my outlook. Dr. Clark was the first counselor who did not encourage a victims mindset, and the only one who was more interested in addressing the shame, guilt, and fear I carried in my heart rather than giving me methods or tools to fix my problems. It took trust, faith, and TIME, lots of moments of feeling angry and uncomfortable, but Dr. Clark walked with me through the grief, and ultimately he helped me uproot the true underlying issues and lies that got me to the point of crisis to begin with. Once those things were exposed by the Holy Spirit, thats when true healing from God began in my life. I can move forward from the crisis and live a life of confidence, walking daily by faith, taking responsibility for my life, and continuing to grow and mature in my understanding of Gods immense love for me as demonstrated in the person of Jesus Christ.
The counselors at Crosspointe are amazing. Suzanne has changed my life and led me to freedom in Christ. Qualified, Christ-centered counselors minus all the spiritual abuse and Bible thumping you will find in some Christian counseling. I would recommend them to anyone struggling in any way.
Thank you to Dr. Johnny Clark and Rev. Jared Wick for donating their time and services to the guests of a spring rejuvenation event hosted by Triangle Divorce Lawyers. A donation based counseling services is a huge help for someone going through such an emotional, mental and financially stressful time in their lives.
