Thank you for the service you provided for my fathers funeral. Since the very first call to the funeral home the staff made us feel like my father was The ONLY client there not ONE OF THEM. The staff was very attentive and compassionate. They never tried to sell us any extra bells and whistles and they were very respectful to our requests and wishes. Special THANK YOU to Chris, who made this experience as smooth as possible from the time we met him on the first day. Chris was very polite and listened to every single detail and request that we wanted to include into my fathers service: he did his best remembering all of the details of how we would like him to be dressed and even little ritual that we wanted to be done at the cemetery at the time of burial! MOREOVER he fulfilled ALL OF THEM!I really enjoyed and appreciate the fact that Chris let us have our space during the entire experience, but yet he was always there in case we needed him!!!! Thank you Chris and entire City of Oaks staff.

I highly recommend City of Oaks Cremation and cannot say enough great things about them. My mother passed away on Christmas Day. I called, Somer promptly answered and patiently gave me easy to follow next steps. Customer service was outstanding because in the background I could hear kids opening presents and she clearly forwarded the phone to take calls. She followed up with me later that day as if it was a regular workday - but made me feel like this was her biggest priority. Also, they worked with me on a few delays that had arisen and were very accommodating.

Beyond awesome to my mom. Because of Covid there are a lot of restrictions. They said, The night she passes call us. So we did. EVERYTHING we needed to know was online. The staff was wonderful. Sooner was compassionate and professional. Would highly recommend

This is the ONLY funeral home and crematory that I recommend for folks in the greater Raleigh area. The facility, the staff, the attitude, the availability of staff fluent in other languages...I could go on and on. Absolute best prices in our entire area and very transparent about costs and choices.

My mother passed away unexpectedly in April with no end of life plans in place. I was then put in a place of what to do, where to do it and how. I reached out to City of Oaks and they walked me through every step. I felt a calm of relief as I now had people to help me with this step. Everything was completed by phone and computer due to COVID-19. I was impressed with the compassion shown by staff that made them feel more like family and not a business.

I lost my mother to breast cancer last month. My mom chose City of Oaks when she transitioned to home hospice. When my mother passed, Kelly walked me through the entire process (even working on a Saturday). I was treated with dignity and respect throughout. I highly recommend City of Oaks.

We did not have a formal service due to Covid (Im shocked by the people giving bad reviews over something City of Oaks cant control). I was very pleased with the reasonable, upfront cost, the coordination of pick up from hospice and the communication about all details.Somer was very friendly and professional. She was easy to deal with and answered all my questions. Everything went smoothly.

We picked up my father in laws remains today, my mother in law was to upset to do it so i went. Got home and they had him in the wrong urn... called them, they came and swapped out his ashes. How horrible. Then we realized his wedding ring and bracelet where not returned. Called them.. they completely denied them being on body even though hospice verified they where on him. I guess the driver Harey got a nice gold perk. So sad and unbelievable.

Exceptional is the word to use when talking about how respectful and with dignity the City of Oaks Funeral Home and Cremation handled my husband’s final journey. From the moment Harry and his wife came to collect him, they calmly explained their procedure, calmed any fears I had, prayed with us so when they carried him out, with the utmost dignity, I felt okay to let him go.Kelly Ary –Funeral Scholar-was my strongest support through the whole process. She was very compassionate. Although I had many questions and some requests, Kelly never made me feel that they were unusual or strange. In fact, I even forgot a request I made until I saw it come to fruition and realized she remembered it.City of Oaks is that beacon of light one need during the darkest time. . Thank you for being there for me. They are professionals and made husband’s homecoming service at their chapel stress free. I highly recommend them.

The compassion and kindness and generosity shown by Edward and Trey to my family and me during a really sad time made the cremation process more bearable. It was important to us to know that our loved one was being received and cared for in a respectful and loving way. They took time to let us share with them about our loved one and we felt comforted. They were very thoughtful with their suggestions and showed us they genuinely cared about how our loss affected each member of our family. They were truly a blessing to us!

This was the best experience i think we have had in this type of situation, it was fast, easy and affordable for a family member with no insurance. They made the process very easy compared to a lot of funeral homes. We were greeted with respect and also the price we paid was no more than what was originally quoted. I will definitely be recommending others.

No one wants to be at this point at life, needing to make the final plans. The staff here are very understanding, honest, professional, and helpful. They make this hard time a little easier.

We can’t thank City of Oaks and Edward enough for everything they did for our son. While this is not something we ever imagined having to do for our baby, Edward made the process so so easy and went above and beyond for us when he didn’t have to. It truly meant so much to us during the hardest time of our lives.

Typically, when dealing with a funeral home, nothing good has happened. The first time I worked with the folks at City of Oaks, it was to assist my mom with my Grammys cremation. The process was as smooth and painless as it can possibly be when dealing with a loved ones loss.A year+ later, our twin boys arrived too prematurely but were born alive. When Elliott passed that evening, it was an easy decision to call upon City of Oaks. The day after we were released from the hospital, they rang us in the morning to set up a quick meeting to handle the paperwork that afternoon -- one less phone call we had to make, which goes a long way during hard times. The paperwork took maybe 5-7 minutes total, and for the loss of a baby they offered a set cremation package that included a package requiring little to no decision making that included a little urn with a teddy bear for an exceptionally low price (a managers discount comped the majority of the cost given the circumstances of losing an infant.) When we had to repeat the process a week or so later for our other son Prescott, it went just as smoothly.Throughout our two arrangements we dealt with a variety of staff members -- Trey, Edward, Somer -- and none of them could have been more sweet or compassionate. They go out of their way to not overly complicate a situation that is already so emotionally difficult, and they dont try to milk more money out of you because youre vulnerable -- which Ive unfortunately experienced firsthand elsewhere with my grandfathers passing.My one regret of this experience is that the gift shop no longer includes the funny tshirts; I had really enjoyed that bit of comic relief on my prior visit.

All I can say is I guess you get what you pay for. What a cheap outfit. In a time of sorrow for me they only added on more.

We had a funeral for a 2 month old and they took care of us in a way that didnt feel like a business.

Horribly rude, Edward was a jerk and completely unprofessional. They stored our cousin inappropriately and we ended up having to have a closed casket. Communication was sparse and curt. Anyone else will do.

This place has a kind staff that helps make an emotionally difficult situation a bit easier. Also, there is a gift shop that provided a bit of comic relief for anyone with a mildly inappropriate taste in humor.
