When I purchased my house six years ago, I asked Nick to remove some trees the former owners planted right next to the garage and house. He did a wonderful job, reasonably priced and cleaned everything up. A couple years later, I was cited by the City of North Port because my oak tree in the front yard at the corner covered the stop sign and street sign. He did such a beautiful job of lifting it, I was amazed by how gorgeous my tree looked - I think it even looked better than before he lifted it! (My neighbor across the street and catty-corner from me had a handyman do theirs shortly after Nick did mine, and it was clearly a hack job that didnt do their tree justice, even to this day.) Regrettably, this year, my tree was diagnosed with ganoderma and needed to be cut down completely. Nick and his crew cut the tree and ground the stump. They totally cleaned up all evidence that the oak was even on the property. Very reasonably priced. Nick really knows his stuff. We have large Oak trees in our backyard, never been trimmed, hanging over our home. Below is an photo after the trees were removed from over out house. Dave, the crew foreman did a great job directing his men to remove trees that were over our house. I was always nervous that we would end up with a tree through our roof. Dave, made sure that never happened. These guys are professionals ! They had all the right equipment, large boom lifts and tractors, grinders. Everything was cleaned up when done. A great job. After a few years of decent service they accidentally cut the Air-conditioned electric wire. It cost $110.00 to repair. They were not willing to reimburse me the full amount. They only wanted to give me less than half of my expense caused by their weed wacker.

A massive stump grinder ate up 6 stumps to below ground level. Trimming our trees 30- 50 feet was no problem in their cherry picker, tree trimmer or tree crane vehicle..whatever its called. The guys left the property spotless and my wife and I could not be more pleased.

Timely work, very professional company -- Our office complex recently encountered a plumbing emergency which resulted in several businesses having to close temporarily, including dentists forced to cancel appointments. Even worse, plumbers could not get to the problem until 3 large trees (and their network of underground roots) were completely removed. Extremely disappointed! Nick came to our home to look at a large tree w wanted trimmed. We expected a professional. We met a young, cocky guy w a very rude manner. We wanted expert advice and he was in a big hurry, expected us to know exactly what we wanted without answering our questions . Actually got angry and said it looks like you have no idea what you want and im not getting in the middle etcI cannot put in words how surprised we were at this unprofessional behavior.We expected to be treated with respect and he was pushy and curt from the beginning.We have used a fabulous arborist in the past who died last year; and loved his workIts obvious Nick is just out for money, doesn’t want to spend anytime helping the customer make the best decisions for the trees.He would not even give us a ballpark on anything.We strongly advise going elsewhere, im sure we dodged a bullet.

We threw a lot at these guys and they exceed on every point. We easily had 3-4 days worth of work for a crew that they did in 2.5 days. My neighbor walked over and commented on how hard they worked the entire time.We had trees tangled in powerlines, we had trees near the house, we had tress on and over the water, we had a honey bee infestation!! They went out of their way and saved the honey bees! They handled all of the situations professionally and without a bit of damage to any surrounding property.I had open communications with Linda and Nick beforehand and the crew that came to do the work always took time to talk to me each day and let me know what they were doing and how things were going. I had zero worries while they worked and that says a lot because I worry about everything.When they left my yard was cleaner than before they started. They really cared about the work they were leaving behind. I found out later they did all of this being one man short and with a down piece of equipment. Nick’s team of guys at Florida Tree & Ground Maintenance are professional, courteous, very caring about the service they provide. I have been using them about 6 years. In that time, they have cleared 3.5 building lots cut down numerous pine trees as well as stump grinding them. They make sure to clean up the site before leaving, they always ask if I am satisfied with the job. I have never had any issues with them not showing up when they said they would like other companies I’ve call before. In January I called about having a arborist come to my home as I had questions as to the condition of some of my palm trees. I wanted to meet with them to point out and ask certain questions.Two weeks later without a phone call to set an appointment someone came to the house and we were not at home. We had only left the house for half an hour. a card had been left in the mail box.Later in the day I spoke with the owner who said that he was there. I tried to ask him some of my questions but said that it was hard to do over the phone. He told me that my trees looked okay to him and then sent be a bill for $75.00. He also told me he could fertilize five trees for $300.00.I have my own service company, a roofing and siding company. I never go to a customers house without a phone call first. Also would never send a bill for a phone conversation.He continues to send his bill which I will not pay

The crew did a fabulous job removing a large oak tree in front of lanai and removed large limbs on other tree that was hanging over my house. The company has a certified arborist named Nick. His crew was very highly skilled and professional with their work from start to finish. They removed the tree quickly and safely along with grinding the stump down. The place was left neat and clean. All of the work was done in a professional manner and the clean up was as good as it could be. Some of the trees looked like they would be a real challenge, yet this crew made short work of the job. I cant comment on how well this company trims trees, but disappointed that one of their drivers drove through our planted cul-de-sac on Peace River Drive this morning (09/25/2020) and took out a crape myrtle bush, some ground cover, flowering aloe and dug up the sod. Our street has a sign stating that it is a dead end.

Best price I could find and I did a lot of shopping around. Nick did a pretty big project for us, mainly trimming palms in and around our dealership. To keep it simple, his guys were able to trim up multiple palms and other trees around 60 thousand dollar new cars and havent had a single issue yet. His staff is pretty damn friendly too.

We had a large Bismark Palm which was infected with beetles and had to be removed and replaced. It was in the back yard with limited access yet they removed and replaced it with a beautiful Montgomery Palm and did an outstanding job. We had several trees that needed to be removed including two very large bushy palms that were leaning against our pool cage. The guys had a very small amount of room to work with and they still managed to remove all trees without causing any damage to the property. The two heaviest trees weighed several hundred pounds a piece, and were proving to be very difficult, but with these guys ability to think outside the box and get the job done it ended up being nothing more than a minor inconvenience. They were quick, professional, and very courteous. I will definitely be using them for all my tree removal needs in the future.

They removed the wrong tree.My initial request was if they could remove our tree (the correct one) intact to be used elsewhere as a trade since it was a huge, gorgeous, healthy, and vibrant tree but in a bad location. They said no. It could only be removed for a fee, not intact and we complied. It was scheduled while we were gone due to their busy schedule.However AFTER they were told they removed the WRONG tree they offered to put the tree back as they had removed it intact. Amazing! What were they going to do with this beautiful tree that they took intact? Hm. I wonder. (Sarcasm here)So now our beautiful, healthy tree is in complete shock and has to be watered daily. 1 star is too good.

We hired Nicks company to remove a damaged heritage live oak tree from our property. We live out of state and can not thank him enough for his hard work and fierce tenacity. Not being in the area full time, we were so happy to find Nick. He wrote up the tree risk assessment, provided us with a bid, filled out the mandatory paperwork with the county (due to protected heritage tree issues), applied for the permit and worked with the county above and beyond what I feel the average company would have. This was not an easy case and Nick never lost interest or the desire to get this tree cut down for us.The tree itself was a multi trunked live oak tree with a very large canopy and was around 65 feet tall. On one side was our house and the other side of the tree was growing directly into power lines. His expertise and grade A equipment enabled him to do the job safely and efficiently. He ground all the stumps down well below ground level and actually left the work area in better condition than when he arrived.I cannot say enough good things about Florida Tree and Ground Maintenance. If you find yourself in need of an arborist, call Nick first. He will be the last call you have to make. In todays day and age of half-assed businesses who only want to cut corners and take your money, Nick will pleasantly surprise you. Thats not how he operates and will go the extra mile for you. He does what he says he will do and just gets stuff done. Period. Even better, he gets it done right and as promised.

This is a 20 foot tall tree that we paid $1350 for, to be the new centerpiece of our front yard. Made contact with Florida tree in regards to the issue, and after a month of back and forth, ultimately all they would do to rectify the situation was to either cut out the dead stalk, or install a new tree at a cost of $600!! This project already set us back nearly 7 grand. I understand that their growers do not guarantee their trees, however that’s really not my problem. In the end, we did not get what we wanted or paid for. We wanted a nice triple foxtail as our centerpiece. What we are left with is a double with a stump. Other nurseries in the area guarantee their trees for a year after planting with proper care, which I was religious about with this particular tree. We will not be using this company for any of our planned future projects.

They removed 6 30 foot trees from the back of my house and 2 trees from the front as well as trimmed the remaining trees. They were very careful not to damage my septic system and hand carried all of the debris from the back of the house to the front. They are extremely hard working and efficient. They ground down the stumps and the property looks better than it ever has. I would highly recommend this company to my friends.

Nick and his crew came out and took care of business. They were all professional and did a fantastic job at trimming the trees and cleaning up after. I would highly recommend using them to anyone and I plan on using them from now on.

Nick and his crew did an excellent job. They didnt have it as easy at our house due to the fact that they day they came to cut (4) trees down it had rained the night before so they didnt have access to get to our back yard with their outstanding equipment they posses. They literally had to cut the trees down & drag them out to the road to put in their industrial chipper which was a lot of work since they cut (4) oak trees down. Job well done.

I have been a customer for years and Nick and his company have always been very reliable and professional. The few times we have had phone communication his office has been extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend his services.

I just used this company to trim two very large oak trees in my small back yard. The guys who came to do the work did a great job. The only down side to my experience was when nick came to bid the job, I was very adamant about removing a tree limb which was growing into the roof of my shed, and stated it was of paramount importance. He stated on the proposal that they would remove all “delinquent” limbs which I assumed included the aforementioned limb so I signed the proposal and left a non-refundable cash deposit to schedule the appointment. When the crew came to do the job, the crew leader told me that he was not informed to remove said limb and I would need to pay an extra $300 for removing this tree limb on top of the $1600 I paid for the job. This was an apparent miscommunication or he simply forgot to add it to the estimate. After calling and speaking with the very nice lady in the office, I asked them to at least meet me half way to remove the limb which may have taken an extra 10-15 mins. Unfortunately they would not budge and informed me that I would need to pay the unexpected price increase to have it removed. Had I known it did not include the limb removal, I would have budgeted for it better. As I stated earlier despite the issue with the incorrect estimate, the crew came and did a great job, they were quick and efficient and had it done in about 4 hours. I would still recommend this company, but I would advise future customers to go through every detail before signing and approving the estimate. I will also probably use them again to trim my tall palms that I cannot reach. I would have normally only given 4 stars, but I am also appreciative of them squeezing me In to their schedule to have the job completed before my BBQ on July 4th. Kudos to Dave and his crew!Thank you!

Florida Tree and Ground Maintenance has been maintaining our yard for nearly 5 years. We are on a weekly schedule and the crew is always there, like clockwork. When I have happened to be home when they are there, the crew was very friendly. Highly recommended!

This is the second time I have hired Nick and his crew to do a job for me. Unfortunately I have a vacant lot on two sides of my fence and it was causing the fence to fall in. The crew showed up and cleared a path along with knocking some offensive fast growing trees so they no longer rest on my fence. They also trimmed all my plants, bushes and trees in my backyard as to my request. The place looked fantastic when they left and you would have never known they were here. All debris was racked and hauled off and the foliage in my backyard looks great. They are the most professional group of people I have ever hired in the state of Florida and would highly recommend them for any of your needs.
