Its a gym. I went because it was close and convenient and I didnt have to have my own weights. Starting and ending my membership were poor experiences because no one explained what was going on until it was too late. But there was one time my credit card had an issue and they worked things out with me. So it wasnt all good, but it wasnt all bad either
Competitive price (except for their $100 fee they charge after 2 months) and overall great gym. Very large with lots of options. The equipment is a bit older than I expected but by no means terrible. Well worth the money in my opinion.
It’s a good gym. Definitely a popular gym. Has everything you need, but… pretty over crowded, sometimes messy with weights being all over the place and in the wrong places. Overall a good gym though. Just needs better organization!
I signed up online. The front desk girls are super nice. They helped answer my questions. I would recommend. Ive never had a gym pass besides the one my old employer offered and the money is worth spending.
I love most vasa gyms but this one is a joke. Most of the equipment is broken. Some of the benches on the bench press arent nailed down so when you sit on one end, the other end pops up. I go to this location because of convenience but if youre looking for a vasa that has newish equipment that is well maintained, this isnt the place for you.
This place has a really clean, smooth and real deal feel to it. The staff are friendly, informative and professional, and they have a fantastic selection of classes and machines. Thanks guys, Im actually excited to go to the gym lol
This is definitely the worst Vasa Fitness I have ever been to. Almost all of the equipment is old, damaged, and dangerous. It is long overdue for a make over. I would definitely go to a different gym or Vasa nearby if you don’t want to get hurt by their old or broken equipment.
Way too small for the amount of people that go here. There is a reason that most students go to the Vasa up in Orem. A lot of the equipment is on the verge of breaking or is visibly old, its constantly dim because of all of the burned out lights in the ceiling. If you can avoid going during peak hours that is definitely best, otherwise you will need to wait in line to use the machines. For 15$/month its not the worst value but it would be great if the space they were in were used more efficiently or even if it felt like they didnt want you to workout in darkness.I should say that despite how dingy and overcrowded this gym is the students who work here as staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
Equipment is random, needs work could be so much better if it was better lit, cleaned and taken care of.
VASA lacks the human decency of letting you know you still have a subscription with them if you havent shown up at the gym for more than 3 or 4 months, in my case 8+ months. Most people would send out an automated email asking if youre still there/would like to keep paying for and using their service but VASA doesnt care. Theyll keep charging you and not vocalize it. Youll only realize it if youre paying close attention to the money that comes out of your bank account because they also dont email you every month when they charge you.Lack of human decency.
Terrible dumbbells (selection and quality). Locker rooms are kinda gross. Always packed. Closed on Sunday. Closes early (10pm).
Misleading marketing, overly crowded space, limited equipment, and personal trainers that are very single minded and try too hard to tell you what kind of body shape you want to be working for. You can get an all around better experience with better equipment and better perks for a better price at the Provo recreation center or a number of other gyms in the area. Overall it’s just not worth your membership when you compare it to the alternatives.
Gym gets the job done, but Ill put the fees people are talking about here. So counting the $50 annual fee, your membership is closer to $15 a month. Also, the annual fee is unaffected if you pause your membership. This sign doesnt say it either but theres a $10 fee if you want to freeze your account. Also, this Vasa only has 4 benches and 4 normal squat racks. They have a lot of room, they should get rid of the machines no one uses.
Chelsea is an AMAZING personal trainer!! She just got promoted to Head Trainer and she definitely deserves it!! Ive been training with her since my second trimester of my pregnancy and by golly, it made delivery and recovery SOOO much easier! I was very appreciative that she did her research about what I could and couldnt do while pregnant. Im 10 weeks postpartum and feeling absolutely amazing!! I was back to working out (on my own) at 4 weeks postpartum and went back to training with her at 8 weeks. Thank you Chelsea!!
I attempted to cancel a membership in late 2019 and was unable to because it wasn’t connected to my email somehow and they wouldn’t permit me to cancel it in store. I thought it was canceled because I had no access to an account. I’m mid 2021 I found they were still charging me. They wouldn’t refund me because I had no official documentation of my efforts and they charged me an additional month because that was what the contract had initially in it. They made it nearly impossible to cancel because of their poor communication and unfriendly setup. My fault for assuming good business practices.
I love this gym. I admire the ethics of the staff keeping up with the entitled demographic of this college town. I do agree that corporate management needs to dish out some repairs, maybe add a couple more staircase power mills. Folks dont understand how corporates work and blame it on the hardworking staff. And that is the story of our provo VASA. Peace.
Awesome gym, the dumbbell area is a little old and dingy. But overall a good little gym, good staff, there’s enough equipment there to manage the 5 PM flow, and the gym isn’t really lacking any amenities.
This place will steal your money. They do not let you cancel your membership. When I went into the gym 3 years ago to cancel my membership, they said I had to call the corporate phone number to cancel. When I called SEVERAL times over the next months, I was on hold for hours at a time. They never answered my phone calls to cancel. They just continued to bill me no matter what I did. They did the same thing to my best friend. I finally called my bank to have them block the monthly payments, and VASA sent me to collections. Now my credit is affected. Just because they wouldnt cancel my membership!!! Horrible company. Crooks.
As a corporation, Vasa is terrible with some shady policies and some very unprofessional employees save a few. Just so you have an idea, I arrived to the gym one day with a friend and there’s a chalk board with “Push- up contest” written on it. I ask the guy behind the counter for more info on this contest and he responds, “ what push- up contest?” I replied, “the one right there.” (It literally was a few feet from him and at the entrance of his workplace.)He just responded, “Dude, they don’t tell me anything around here.”It’s hilarious but I’ve had many other experiences with girls behind the counter not even knowing what a squat belt was when I asked them for one. Anyways as a gym at this location.....It’s a small gym but it has almost everything you need. Gets crowded sometimes but not often or like the huge vasas. They do need to start switching out dumbbells because a lot are broken and there are plenty heavy ones but not as many sets of between 20-30 pounds.
Horrible, vasa is just plain horrible. Was a huge pain to cancel then YEARS after I cancelled I get sent to collections for fees I had absolutely no idea were being charged. What a crooked company. Any other gym is better.
I like Tyler as a trainer. He is able to tell when we need help and he helps us have the right form when we are working out.
Great place for the price! Love the response time of the management. The app changed my home gym to another city, I have no idea how! But the management was responsive in resolving the issue! Scheduler on the app is really a good idea to manage the over-crowding for generally used equipment.
For the price, it gets the job done. There are a lot of members. But done locations need to do better at updating equipment or just fixing broken ones. The bigger locations have more to offer for the same price. Overall, good.
The 5 am staff wasnt the most lively, but great facility! All machines were current and well maintained, and it wasnt too crowded, either. People there are generally friendly and willing to help you out. I wish it had a sauna like some other locations do. Lots of parking space and food very nearby, which is also great.
Lots of great weights and work out equipment
Vasa is extremely unprofessional and straight-up draconian when it comes to their sales tactics. I havent been to this gym since 2017, but before I left I told them I wanted to cancel. They said I had to call in and cancel over the phone. I called repeatedly but was never able to get a hold of anyone. They ended up sending my account to collections and now have dinged my credit. Seriously, I know theyre all over Utah, but save yourself some time, effort, and money and work out anywhere else. Vasa sucks.
Vawesome staff, vawesome energy drinks, and vawesome music choice every morning. Gym was always opened on time which was vawesome, tanning beds work which theyre vawesome, and don’t even get me started on the vawesome studio cinema. Best experiences with the vawesome employees Raegan, Jackson, Brock, and Boomer. Would not have kept attending VASA that early in the morning without their motivating vawesome attitude!
A little dated but it has everything I needed to get my workout done. Staff was nice. I would return to train there.
Great gym, the mens restroom toilets need some serious looking into though, other than that, good gym with friendly staff
I had my account set up in part by a member of staff at the front desk. There was a load of pressure to hurry and get out of the way (Im trying to sign up to your service..?). I had them double check all the information, only to find out at my second visit that Ogden had been put in as my primary gym, not Provo. Its a $25 fee to have that changed, which is fine, but I decided that the busy, COVID unsafe space and unhelpful desk staff werent worth paying for, logged on and ended up having to pay about $85 dollars to cancel the membership. An incredible rip off, honestly felt a bit like a grift. Probably works out if you are planning to go super consistently over a long time but if youre a casual gym-goer, there are places with better customer support and that try at least less blatantly to scalp you.
Decent amount of equipment for the amount of traffic. Some of the equipment is falling apart though and there are some benches that dont have bars. I would also get rid of a smith machine and put in another squat rack just based on traffic. So some upkeep and purchasing is needed but overall not bad.
This gym is basically a scam, they lure you in with the low monthly membership price and then tack on all kinds of fees once you’ve joined. I was charged an “annual fee” of over $50 with no notice that overdrew my bank account and caused me to be charged an overdraft fee by my bank. Even though I was charged by VASA without notice and there is no record of this “annual fee” on my billing information page on the VASA app, the gym refused to refund me so that I could dispute the overdraft fee with my bank. They also tack on a fee if you decide to terminate your membership that comes out to over $90. I wish they were more honest about these fees up front so you realize it’s not just a $13 monthly membership fee when you sign up.
Great gym. Very popular. Even with many of the machines closed due to covid, the place is booming with more than enough to do and work out every muscle in your body. I am sore
Honestly, I’ve done vasa before and it was fine. But I tried to sign up again the first of the month and they told me some conditions I was fine with. They said I could cancel anytime with only a $25 cancellation fee. But then that same month I needed to cancel for personal reasons and they came back and told me that they had a 30 day cancelation process that I wasn’t told about. I asked specifically if they had this feature in their process and they told me no. So now Im out 50 bucks because of pretty lame/unprofessional business ethics. So if your planning on doing it just know that the thief who signed you up probably cheated you out of some money that you didn’t realize somewhere.
Dont believe their low rates. You pay a lot to join and $40 per year to maintain your current monthly price. Equipment is falling apart, weights and benches always out of place, and the staff are always playing on their phones and make minimal effort to interact have a good night. I only have every seen the staff maintain an orderly gym at 11:55 right before closing.
By far the worst VASA in the valley. The staff are nice and try to keep up, but the constant flood of second hand junk equipment and disrespectful college students leaves this place looking like a washed up middle school gym. Also, the bathrooms are atrocious
Worst customer service and administration service. They know why I am saying this. No taking care of the members. Don’t waste your time here!
If you want a solid selection of free weights and cardio equipment, this place can not be beat. At $10/month it is way better than Planet Fitness for people into bodybuilding and Olympic lifting. Doesnt have tons of other amenities, but great if its what you are looking for. Employees are nice and keep things clean.
Had an issue with billing and the manager did her absolute best to help me out. All the trainers are wonderful and make sure the place is cleaned as often as they can!
Vasa Provo is not the best Vasa. It has what you need for a workout though.
Been going to VASA for a while now, at many different locations. Each one has its own unique vibe, and this one deffinatly has its own personality. Its smaller than most but has everything I need for a great work out. Yes it does get busy during peak times, but that just means you get to talk to more people.
Vasa came a long way.Great gym!
Vasa has poor business practices and I would not recommend signing up. They tell you its 12$ a month but neglect to tell you all the other fees they plan on charging you. They charge a heck of a lot of money to cancel and dont tell you up front including a cancelation fee and rate guarantee fee which totals over 90$ . They have terrible communication and miserable customer service.
Vasa customer service is the worst to deal with. I’ve been coming to their gyms for 3-years and have always paid on time. I needed to move away from Utah last minute and for the last 3 months I’ve been trying to close my account and they continue to charge me. They also tried to charge me an early canceling fee but I’ve been a member for 3 years? The gyms themselves are generally above average but it’s not worth the headache unless you’re planning on being a member for life.
Theyll tell you anything to sign up no cancellation fees, no annual fees etc but then when you go to cancel theres a termination fee along with their annual hidden fee. Also no phone number to call either they just direct you to a web page that makes you pay in-order to cancel. Nicer gyms in UT by far like lifetime or provo rec center
Vasa is very unfortunately the best gym in Provo. While their equipment is decent and the atmosphere is pretty good, dealing with the company is overwhelmingly frustrating. From a long-time member, here’s what to expect. Here are a few things that WILL happen because they happen by design:-You WILL be paying the cost of the (currently $20) premium membership even if you bought the cheaper one. Cuz fees. Especially if you don’t plan to have your membership for longer than 2 years.-You WILL pay at least $100 more on sign up, sign out and annually than what the $10 membership costs at face value.-The company WILL change website and/or app hosts at least yearly. You WILL lose your login privileges. You will have to call the company to make any adjustments to your account. You will have to wait on hold. It will take multiple days to work everything out.-If you wait until the last week of the month to cancel your gym membership, you WILL miss the deadline and end up paying for two more months (that’s the whole point of their poor system design). Count yourself lucky if you only lose out on one extra month’s worth of fees.-You WILL be billed for the month after you quit the gym (even if it’s the first day of the month). You just will, they tell you so on the phone call. It’s legal I guess. With all that said, if you’re an athletic, attractive, and motivated college student prepared for all of these fees and frustrations, you will enjoy the gym.
One of the great bait and hook companies. I’m sure they are good people but customer care is preached not practiced. 90% of people don’t communicate with vasa except through their bank statements. I’d suggest becoming more transparent and actually enforcing pricing to a T. Charging people who have been with you a longer than 6-12 months numerous fees to get out is a great way to make sure they never come back. I would have considered joining VASA again later but now I will not. Play the long game my friends. Place the bet on taking care of customer.
I’ve been a member for two years now. I started at the university gym and have always been there. I called and asked to switch to the provo gym and they said that was fine. They then called me back the next day and said I had to pay a $25 transfer fee because it was my second transfer, even though I had never transferred before. The lady told me it was free to transfer and then calls back telling me I have to pay. Terrible service and their employees obviously don’t know their own policies very well.Update: Over a week later and still have not been contacted like they said they would below. Doesn’t seem that they care much about their customers. Unfortunate.
Their equipment is *usually* clean and functional, and their pricing is *normally* reasonable. My biggest complaints are:-they are quick to call you *I kid you not* 10 times a week while youre at work to let you know that your card expired and they were not able to collect payment the day before, yet somehow they need 30 DAYS NOTICE to cancel, meaning they get to charge you one extra month once youre done-they charge you to cancel within your first 6 months-they have an entirely separate company taking care of billing so you cant resolve your account and billing issues in the same call-once a year they charge you some fee that they call a rate guarantee fee or something like that thats really a hidden way of saying they only charge ~$10 or ~$20 a month while getting an extra $50 annually from youIndividually, I give this location 4/5, but as a company, -3/5. I averaged those to 1/5. Would not recommend to a friend.
I like this gym as it is the only one in Provo. But the only reason this is 3 stars is because the social distancing and people including employees following the rules is awful!! If you want to go to the gym and be safe this is DEFINITELY not the place. After freezing my membership for three months I came back to see only young people here that could care less about COVID-19 rules and regulation. As gyms are a dangerous place to be rite now, this place is definitely making very little effort. I know you can’t force people, but just know none of the young kids there are following the rules. If you have family at risk do not come here.
Nice gym on the inside and out. Definitely not the best gym Ive ever been too. For what it is though it is great!
Overall, a great place to workout. It has all the basic necessities of a gym. This particular gym probably isnt worth more than the basic membership, unless you want to go to other gyms around town.
This is a great fitness center. The staff is very professional and extremely courteous. I have been going here weekdays since I moved to Provo from Seattle in 2016 and they treat me like family!
They just care about money and not customer safety. VASA-work with the police to do more patrols around this place!
I originally signed up for a membership when I was going to school and needing a gym. While I used the gym, it was great, had everything I needed. However, I ended up moving out of Utah and when I called in to cancel my membership, I was told that I had to do it in person--which was impossible as I was no longer living in Utah. I was unable to cancel and after several more attempts to cancel over the phone, I put it on the backburner. 3 years later Ive cancelled my old bank account and opened a new one, ultimately cutting Vasa off from automatically withdrawing money. Ive now received a notice that Ive been sent to collections with a rather large bill. Granted, when I came back to Utah I should have gone to the gym to cancel my membership, but it was something I never got around to. To me, it seems insane to have a membership where the only method of cancelling is in person, and I have now paid for several years at this gym for a service I was unable to use for a large time.In short, the gym is fine, but the method of cancelling membership and keeping their hands out of your wallet is insane.
Great trainers and employees!! It is always clean. It doesnt have a lot of people which makes it great for enough space to do workouts and available machines.
The fees are absurd. Name one other business that charges a hefty yearly fee AND a monthly fee, not to mention a hefty signup fee, a cancellation fee, and a bounced check fee. Can’t think of one.
Great gym but its pretty small and is always packed.
I joined vasa because I couldnt find another gym around. Their customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced anywhere. Signing up is easy online but as soon as you try to cancel it’s a joke I’ve been over charged and will get no response for them can’t get ahold of anyone that can do anything. But as soon as they can’t get my money they have someone calling me 3 times a day.I am updating this review since I have wrote it I have be call a “douchbag” buy one of the workers. Vasa has responded to my review but has not actually followed up.
They train their employees very well! Every time I go in I am welcomed, they are always willing to answer questions, and they are willing to solve my problems. I have had troubles with corporate Vasa with my membership in the past but this location has always been willing to bend over backwards to help me solve those issues! I would definitely recommend working out at the Provo Vasa!
Very deceptive place. In order to cancel service, you have to agree to a $25 cancellation fee. In addition, they charged me a $54 rate guarantee fee after I had cancelled my membership. Dont use this dishonest gym.
Possibly the worst company Ive had the displeasure of associating with. My wife and I signed up for a personal trainer because SHE approached us and we loved her, but she straight up quit without telling us or the company (wondered why but now I get it). We werent really interested in a personal trainer if it wasnt her, but when we made that known we were told that not only were locked into a 6 month contract (we were never told this when we signed up) but that the only way to get out of it was to pay out the contract, over $100. I have tried for MONTHS to get a response from Vasa but every time I email and call I get smoke and mirrors. We have since moved to back to Texas, and have been charged at least $350 for a membership and personal training sessions that we havent used. GO ELSEWHERE
I wash my hands after every workout and the sink is full of black water. The black water is from all the dirty equipment. Is that healthy? The photo I provided is of one the many out of order machines. This one has been out for at least a month. I found a cable that has a sharp piece of metal stabbing anyone who grab for it (including me.) I told the front desk staff and they told me that maintenance would have to fix it. They then stared at me blankly and never put any kind of warning sign. How is maintenance supposed to know about it now?
I signed up a few months ago online, but it said the sign up process couldnt be completed until I visit in person, which was fine. I tried going a few different times but because of COVID precautions there was a huge line to get in each time. I tried to call in a couple times as well and just set up some kind of appointment, but each time no one answered the phone. I decided to just put it on hold and try going again when things settle down. Months later I discover that vasa had been charging my checking account monthly fees as if I had a membership there, and the random extra yearly fee thats over $60. I wasnt receiving any kind of emails or receipts from vasa about these charges, and I didnt even have the app set up yet. I just canceled, and of course, it charges me another $40 to cancel, even though Ive never been there once to actually use the facility. So over $100 just down the drain for no reason. Ive just lost all trust in vasa.
HORRID CUSTOMER SERVICE. I tried to cancel my membership and they want to charge me the annual fee for the upcoming year when I wont even be using the facilities. I stopped using the gym due to COVID 19 and would have returned but they are still charging me money when my pass has been on hold. The rep would not work with me at all even though I agreed to pay the normal cancellation fee. Do not use VASA or any company related to paramount acceptance. The billing and service is horrible and they do not treat you like humans. Let alone the managers are not properly trained and will try to speak over you.
It is a good place to do exercise !
Convenient locations in all the cities I frequent. Good variety of equipment. And free tanning with the $20 monthly. Membership. I love it
A very clean, but slightly crowded gym. It is little, but if you go mid day, you shouldnt have a problem. They keep things very clean and professional!
I go to the Provo location. I love the improvements that they have made to the location with the turf field. I would love it if they expanded the free weights a bit more and added a few more machines. They also could use some renovations in their locker room. It’s not the nicest gym you’ll go to, but it gets the job done for having a majority of the weights that I need to get my workouts in. If it’s busy, good luck getting a workout in, in less than an hour and a half
Someone from a group of working out buddies took my 25 pound plate from the squating rack I was using while I was squating. After I was done squating I asked one those guys if he took it, because I needed that plate, he said no even though I saw it was one of them who took it. Normally its courtesy to ask for something from another persons squat rack before you take it. These guys didnt. The problem is one of the guys from that group works at the gym. He should of known better or I guess working there has it privileges.
I love when Google tells you that you should write a review for your gym, which you visited 4 MONTHS AGO... Apparently I didnt enjoy it enough to make a habit of it.But seriously, you will not get a gym membership for a better price. $10 a month for basic membership; an additional $10 to use any location and amenities; and an additional little bit to bring a guest, use any location and amenities.
VASA as an organization is great, but this location is inferior to all the rest. Its a lot smaller, has no pool, no courts for basketball or raquetball, only two hydromassage chairs, and no daycare for children. If you are looking for the bare minimum to get in a workout, this place is great, but your membership could get you some more perks at a different location.
UPDATE: They finally provided a refund but only after I posted a negative review. Increased to 2 stars.Trying to take advantage of people during COVID. Very dirty business practices and not as cheap as they try to make it sound. They will try to charge you every possible fee they can without providing value.I paused my account, they never sent a reminder it would be reactivated. When I remembered to look into it and went to cancel because of COVID, they said Id need to pay for the next month even though I could not use it because if COVID. I nicely informed them Id report a charge back on my card for being charged for a service I was not receiving and they informed me theyd reactivate my account and continue charging me!!!??I was at a loss for words...They also tried to charge my girlfriend their 6 month fee during COVID while she couldnt attend the gym and claimed they could not remove it. It took a huge effort to finally get it removed.
For the boys!
Super packed and not very safe as far as COVID goes. Nobody wears masks. Most people dont wipe down equipment after use. The staff doesnt seem to care.
Old equipment and not that much variety but it works!
Good neighborhood gym. It really is the best one in Provo!
The time is 30 minutes past 5 am and no one is here to open the door Monday morning. Today is not a holiday. I give it 3 stars because I like the people who work here, and I understand delays happen in workers lives. Really there arent many other gyms in provo, so you might as well go here.
The person who sold the plan never said that there was an extraordinary charge at the beginning of the year, excessive and not very transparent the seller. My wife has been 3 months and we have already paid an extraordinary charge. In addition to everything they have charged to close the sum of 25 dollars plus, additional 1 month until April, that is, I paid 45 dollars more, it is February 19 and they forced me to pay March. A nightmare and no transparency when we hire the plan.
I would give it negative stars if I could. Seriously hate vasa. Your money is better spent else where. They just want your money, and its nowhere near as good of a deal as it sounds. My husband and I, on the cheapest month to month are still paying over $340 a year to use an over crowded weight room. Go else where youll be thankful.
Nice staff, and a good place for lifting weights. May not fit everybody’s fitness needs but if you’re centered around powerlifting and general maintenance, it does the trick!
Great environment and workout equipment is always clean and in good shape
It’s decent. Not small, and chill. Definitely not as “bro-ey” as I expected, but still has some of that vibe.People don’t rack their weights or if they do it’s totally disorganized and you can’t read the weight oriented on half of them. The staff seems nice. And all in all it’s a decent gym to work out at with more than enough of the equipment you could need.
No masks boys! preach the bro life
Would have rated better but the equipment is mostly out of date, benches are ripped, weights are falling apart, bench bars are bent. Nice staff and pretty clean.
I walked in there and when we saw manager I was like so prettyy! 🪞🖼💰🎡💷
I called in to talk to a trainer regarding some small issue that I had with recovery. I asked if gaining muscle mass helps speed up recover. Someone picked up who wasnt a trainer and all they said was to come in to do a free session. I wasnt looking for a session nor a way on how to gain muscle. I asked politely if I can talk to a trainer then he said to come in to have a free session again. The question was on recovery not like gaining muscle mass. This happens all the time with these big stupid fitness centers. Hey man if I want a trainer I would ask for one. That wasnt the question. You could just have setup a time for me to talk to a trainer. Ive called other locations and the trainers were happy to answer my question over the phone. But not this location.
Its a good gym but pretty crowded. I am glad they have actual squat racks. I used to go to planet fitness and they pretty much leave you alone but the people at VASA kinda hound you to sell you the next best membership.
This gym is economical...no contracts.Lots of space to work out.Enough equipment so there is no long waits for machines.Weights area.Cardio work out machines.Trainers available for extra cost.Spanish Fork has a pool, Im told.Employees are lively, enthusiastic with great personalities.VASA...great place!
Canceling is an absolute nightmare. So much small print in the contract that you end up paying so much in fees. When trying to understand what I was being charged for they constantly throw the well you agreed to this in your face.
Its well-lit, always has music playing, and is well-stocked with great weightlifting equipment from the most basic like dumbbells and barbells to the most specialized like a sled, and ropes. There are so many ellipticals, stationary bikes, treadmills, and stair machines that Ive never had to compete for a spot. They even have massage beds and a separate area for personal training if you want to pay extra for those neat services.
Decent gym for a good price, but pretty limited equipment. If it’s even marginally busy, you will end up having to wait for weights or a machine at some point during your workout. It’s really time for an expansion of some sort to modernize, open up the space, and accommodate more people, similar to the Vasa in Orem.As it is, the low ceilings and cramped layout make the gym feel dated. But more than that, during peak times, it’s almost impossible to get an effective workout in because so many of the machines and free weights are in use.
I enjoy working out here! And I feel like I get what I pay for. I’ve also paid $10 at other gyms before but VASA seems to have more included at their gym for the price. It does get pretty busy here, and seems pretty busy all the time but never so much that I can’t complete a workout like I want to. Friendly staff
Not a lot of equipment at this location, and a lot of it is broken. Theyre not great at getting them repaired. One piece of equipment has been broken for weeks now. Also their massage beds have issues a lot. Go to a different location.
Meghan is a great trainer. I love working with her. She is so fun and encouraging but still expects a lot from us and doesn’t let us slack off. I am excited to continue working with her and seeing better and better results from it.
This is the BEST gym ever! Such a good vibe. Employees are great and fun! My free training session was such a help!! The trainer took time to help me with my weaknesses and my form and it has made all the difference in my workouts!
I am so often frustrated when I am at this gym. If you go when it isnt busy, its not bad. However, most times there are far too many people in the small space to accomplish anything. This gym needs a remodel badly. The new vasa buildings are all great--super large, spacious, with more than enough equipment, even when its busy. The Provo location barely has enough equipment for the least busy times. And it keeps disappearing! They got a bin full of new dumbbells, which are now gone after a few days. There isnt enough room, so people are constantly crowding your space and making it hard to work out. Any equipment I want to use is always taken. Please remodel this gym or make another Provo location!
Average equipment, lower-than-average service, and TERRIBLE contract terms. My husband and I signed up during the summer, and Dustin told us we could pay $10 each or $20 for one of us with guest privileges. We have actually been charged $30 each month because Dustin did not tell us the guest privileges were an extra charge. (If you use a credit or debit card, the charge goes up even more.) We went for 6 months before cancelling to avoid the $25 early fee, but now were paying $30 for another month because of the ludicrous 30-day cancellation notice policy. Its costing us $60 to cancel because were being charged for two future payment periods even though we want to cancel NOW. You can sign up immediately--why require written 30-days notice to cancel? Its just a grab for members money. When we called customer service to get it sorted, the person on the phone was completely inflexible and would not work with us. I would not ever join a VASA gym in the future because of a lack of transparency. Signs say that its $9.95 a month, but then you find out about the $50 sign-on fee and the $50 charge three months after you join to guarantee that your monthly rate doesnt go up. Thats ridiculous. Charge members one single monthly rate with no hidden fees.
