Solid. Rooms are nice! Management is cool. If you want to find something wrong with a place you can. Literally one of the nicest places :)

Ill start with the positive. It is generally nice looking. The pool is small but well maintained, and theres a hot tub year round. The provided furniture is solid if not attractive, and the closets are a nice size. The workers are all very pleasant and helpful, and have done things like hunt down packages for me. Theres a decent level of polish to the apartments, and the maintenance guys are quick and usually get it right. The convenience of its location for BYU students in unparalleled. Its 10 minutes walk to the Library, 20 to the Marriott center if you walk fast like I do. I love that about here, and that combined with having a covered parking spot is the reason Im going to stay here for the foreseeable future. Now the negative, It really is just your typical student housing complex that tries to go for a luxury vibe without actually giving you any real luxuries. The novelty of granite counter tops and a stainless steel refrigerators wears off when you see the stained carpet and realize the bathroom door doesnt shut properly. The small bedrooms dont help much in that regard. Also I dont remember ever being constantly harassed by monthly cleaning checks when staying at a luxury hotel. There was even one smack dab in the middle of finals week, which felt extremely inconsiderate for those not moving out.Another sore spot is parking. Not being guaranteed a spot is annoying but not unheard of. The cost of said parking lot is obnoxious however, at $45 on top of an already steep $470 rent. Then comes the nickels and dimes. 12 dollars a month for internet, 15-20 for gas 10 for electricity, lose a key? thats $10. Etc Etc ad nauseam. Its typical for Provo, but still leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The final annoyance is the office hours. If you want to pick up a package, or talk to a real human being about anything they are only open between 3 and 6 on weekdays. Moving in on a Saturday like I did? Well they dont work weekends, not even the Saturday before the semester starts. Now Im not talking about the ward at all, as The Isles has nothing to do with that. The ward is great if you are an extrovert looking to meet people, as with most wards. All in all, its just kinda meh. Beige. Unremarkable. A place to live while at school, but not a place in which Id like to hang around much longer after.Edit: Pictures below are how the building usually looks. Dont trust the pretty stock photos

I have lived at the Isles for 3 years and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience - I will be living here next year as well. The management is extremely friendly, helpful, and responsive. The rooms are high quality and this year they kept the hot tub open all winter! From a social aspect I cant think of a better place to be - everyone is kind and very friendly.

Two years here and its been the absolute best place Ive ever lived. The people here are like family. Location and amenities are awesome. And contrary to popular belief the management is absolutely stellar, very understanding and handle any and all issues in a timely manner.

I only regret moving here for the summer because I ended up working a ton and was never home, so I feel like I couldve had the same use from a much cheaper apartment. Also, I was under the impression that there would be a gym with weights, treadmills, etc, and theres not. The ward is really social, but not super friendly to new faces. Having a reserved parking spot was nice, but it cost 40$ a month for the summer, which you could get a better deal anywhere else. If you plan on working full time, maybe consider a cheaper place.

The Isles is an amazing place to live!! The pool, jacuzzi and courtyard area are so fun to hangout in in the Spring and Summer. It is so close to BYU campus, less than a 2 minute walk! Inside the apartments are so nice too!! They are well kept, furnished and when something goes wrong maintenance will come fix it ASAP. The Isles has an amazing atmosphere and all the people that live here are the best!

Parking is a nightmare. Had my name on a waiting list for 6 months+. I had to park 2-3 blocks away and walked outside (mostly in snow) in the darkness after work which was not safe. The management also charged me $35 for a cleaning check when I was no longer in possession of my contract. I asked them to talk with my family who helped me clean out my apartment when I moved out, and got no response.Office hours are inconvenient and I have been unimpressed by how it is nearly almost impossible to get ahold of someone when there is a need.Would not live here again, for the price you pay. Not worth it.

I’ve lived here for almost three years and I’ve loved the people. However, management shuts down the hot tub frequently every year with different excuses and is frustrating because it’s the main amenity we have even though we pay more than most places. There are a lot of things that don’t get fixed and hidden fees. So these are big issues, but the community as a whole is great.

I love the Isles!! Its so close to BYUs campus, it has underground parking, a swimming pool, a hot tub, 1 big bathroom to 2 girls (or boys), a great layout, a basketball court, and everything you want in an apartment complex. Its a little pricey, but its SO worth it. Awesome people, awesome ward, awesome awesome awesome!

I wish I could give this place negative stars. My son and his friends put their names on a waiting list here BEFORE they left on their missions. They had one of the moms call every few months to check in and be sure things were fine. The Isles assured her every time she called that they were on the top of the list. Until this week, when these boys got emails on their missions that there is no space available for them in the fall. If management knows that all contracts are sold person to person and the waitlist is a joke, then why didnt they say so and give these kids time to find contracts to buy?

Hands down the best off campus housing you could choose to live in at BYU!The Isles is one of the most expensive places to live but worth every penny. You are a minute or two walk from BYU campus which makes it very easy to walk to and from school. The underground parking is great and you will have a reserved parking spot. You never have to worry about finding a spot or your car being outside in the elements. The Isles is also small which means that you are all in one ward and get to know everyone well. The bishopric is amazing and the people in the ward are always great! Very social place.Inside the apartments are incredibly nice and modern. Each room has a massive walk in closet with a desk, shelf, and four drawers under the bed. Kitchen has stainless steel appliances, dark wood cabinets, and a bigger living area than any other place I have seen in Provo. Bathrooms have walk in showers covered in tile. Washer and dryer have their own room making it very convenient and more aesthetically appealing as they are tucked away.I have nothing bad to say about the Isles. Management has been quick to answer any question or request and the entire complex is kept clean and improvements are made all the time. The Isles is very exclusive and the wait list will often have over 1,000+ people on it. If you want to live here you need to buy the contract directly from someone selling theirs. If you get lucky enough to be able to live here, you wont regret it!

The actual living experience gets 4 stars, for all the reasons listed here by others.Management on the other hand, gets 2 stars. And that feels generous. As is the case in essentially all of Provo, management was disorganized and incompetent. My most recent favorite thing they did was to double charge me (and many others I spoke to) for rent on the month I moved out. Then they sent back my security deposit on a bad check, which resulted in me havng a 10$ bank fee for depositing a bad check. They subsequently sent me a new valid check without an apology 10 days later. For the high price youll pay to live at the Isles, you better make sure youre ready to fight battles with management.

They changed the name from The Archipelago to The Isles in a smart marketing move that resulted in subsequent (and much elicited) increase in demand to live here. Another plus was the installation of the Tron lights in the hot tub.

The Isles seems amazing, but is largely about appearances. On paper, underground parking, granite countertops, a pool/hot tub, gym, the closeness to campus, etc, seems too good to be true--well, it is. The underground parking isnt properly ventilated and the floor usually has a nice layer of black dust. The granite countertops, along with the nice looking appliances and cupboards, are all made with the cheapest materials from the cheapest brands to look good and still barely function. The pool is tiny, the hot tub is closed most of the school year, leaks into the parking lot, and is often crowded. The gym isnt even a full half court and the floor is a poor material. Its close, sure, but only to a couple south campus buildings. Dont forget, theres a massive hill between the Isles and those buildings, too. The internet is fast, but limited and bogged down by some sort of security. The complex is designed for appearances rather than functionality, and most of the people that live there tend to follow suit(a lot of immature, mom/dad money dependent kids). I actually really like their maintenance guy(Royce?), but the management ignores tenant complaints because the owners are a couple old stubborn rich guys who dont care about you. One manager filled me with useless info and threatened me with lawyers. The place seems nice, and is in some ways, but I mostly felt ripped off.
