My daughter attends Bellus Poway as a student. We have been very pleased with the support and education she has been given. Her skill set has really improved and she especially does a great job on haircuts (both men & women) and has gotten faster and more skilled throughout her time at the academy.The director, Matthew Hom, is responsive, supportive and makes every effort to help the students to be successful in their fields. The curriculum is really well rounded, providing the students with a taste of everything from coloring, lash extensions, facials, to nails and barbering and the students seem to enjoy the process.

I am currently in the Esthetics Masters Program at Bellus Academy (Masters 103.)They completely prepare you for your State Board exam. They are very thorough with what you need to know to pass the State Board. As a student you continually practice once a week for about 3 months. The educators at Bellus are excellent. All of my instructors have had extensive experience in the industry and are very knowledgeable in what they teach. Bellus will definitely prep you for your State Board exams, I passed!

Red is an incredible person. She knows color like she was born to teach it. I have had some of the best color experts work on my hair but no one understands the color mixtures like Red does. I will continue to have her do my hair even though I am relocating from Oceanside to Rancho Santa Fe. I wouldn’t trust anyone else!

This place never disappoints me. The girls working here are lively and fun. The management is great. They always somehow squeeze me in for the services I ask for on the last minute.All the services and products used are really of very good quality compared to what they charge for them. Way cheaper than any other beauty salon I have ever been to. It’s not even half the price.Look out for the Groupon deals. They are great.

I got my hair colored by Taylor and I love the way it turned out. She was really nice and professional throughout the entire service. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. Overall it was a great and relaxing experience. I definitely would recommend Taylor to anyone looking to get their hair cut and colored. Great place! I have never left disappointed. I usually get hair work done here like coloring and styling but I have also been for the makeup and manicure/pedicure. If you go here, just make sure you are extremely clear on what you want done and also expect that it will take a little longer than usual since these are students. They have the constant supervision of their teachers as well and often will check in with them. I have loved all my experiences. They do a great job on hair, makeup and manicures/pedicures. I hear their massages are also amazing! I will need to try that out. ;)

Hands down the best school Ive attended for Cosmo and barbering. Heard great things about it, and chose here instead of the major competition schools. That says alot seeing as Ive accrued over 800 hours at another well known beauty school . You wont regret it!

I would give this only 1 star, but the highlights and the toning treatments were good. It is the haircuts that are bad. Another 4 months with my hair in a ponytail I guess. Also, the first look took over 6 total hours to complete, and the second took 4 1/2 hours. I asked for a long bob both times. The second picture is where they were starting to take me to mullet town. No thanks. I’ll do toning and some other things there, but I will never have them cut my hair again.

My first time here and a great experience. First my massage with Anna was amazing. Extremely relaxing, worked out all the built up tension in my shoulders and you cant beat the price. Second my hair appointment with Roxy was more than j couldve hoped for. I got highlights and a trim, she listened to what I was looking for and fully produced. I will absolutely be back again!

I have been a student at Bellus for a little over a month now & I am thrilled with the education I have been receiving. I toured several different cosmetology schools that were closer in proximity to my house, but they all failed to meet the mark. Bellus has amazing instructors, an extensive, in-depth curriculum, & a warm, friendly environment. It has quickly become home & I wouldnt want to receive my education anywhere else.

Went in for a trim and Angie was energetic and very personable. Instructors here are nice and thorough with their students while being attentive to my needs. Although the time may be much longer than your typical salon, I always feel like the value and the quality of work makes up for it.

I really enjoy being at Bellus Academy. Everything is super professional and the educators make sure you’re ready to move forward in the program and give 100% everyday in making sure everyone is comfortable with all the procedures. This was my first time ever going to a Beauty School for services and boy was a very happy. The customer service from the front desk is very professional and kind. The atmosphere is very nice and friendly. Very clean and organized as well. I got a facial service an aging one with ZOE. I am so happy with my experience and my face. I have been getting break outs and she was very sweet and amazing from the beginning and end of my experience. Her energy was great and I will come back for another one, hopefully she is still there. I love this school the instructors are amazing and everyone tends to get along and students that were here before you or have been there for a while and are almost done are always welcoming to help others. This was a good choice of mine. It has so many opportunities for their students and prepare you for your goals.

It is a little time consuming but that speaks their attention to detail and the overall quality of their work. It is a learning institution so patience is required as they are learning, but the quality of their work, the attentiveness of their students and instructors is on point. When I first walked into bellus for a tour I was very impressed by how kind and warm everyone was. The shelves that they had with products in them were very clean and organized, the entire building was very tidy and everyone seemed to be working together to make sure the clients were getting a great experience. The layout is very easy to figure out and everyone is happy to help you get where your going. Overall a very fun and warm environment.

I got my hair done by Stephanie Kang and I really like how the color turned out. I originally planned to go lighter all over but then since i dyed my hair a few months ago I couldnt lighten it yet so we decided for me to go a dark purple all over. She also did a cool curling wave technique on my hair that looked really nice!

I’ve wanted to do cosmetology for awhile so i toured my sophomore year of high school, as talking to other stylist I also toured Paul Mitchell, I decided Bellus because it was closer home and it felt more like a homey salon vs Paul Mitchell where it was really crowded and packed in. Coming here now I regret nothing! Small class sizes makes it easier to learn and the instructors really nice and care on how well you are doing. I highly recommend bellus academy!

Its a great location and they do a great job. The only thing that could be considered bad is the time. You must remember that they are students in training so it will take more time out of your day than a different salon.

I came in to get a consultation for some purple bangs and ended up making an appointment with Tamara. She was awesome! She was so enthusiast and had great ideas!The time before that, I had scheduled a massage. I took the day off specifically for that (like three weeks in advanced) and they ended up cancelling my appointment. When I came in, the receptionist was super rude, snobby, and completely apathetic. They got me in for a back scrub, and it was okay, but not what I wanted! That was a present from my deployed fiancée and its difficult to get specific days off. I was pretty upset, and that receptionist just made it worse.I wasnt going to go back, but I needed a consult and options in Manhattan are limited. Luckily, Tamara rocked it, so the five star rating is for her. She totally redeemed the place!

Horrible place! I spent 7 hours in chair just to get hair cut and colour my roots. My face, ears and neck all in black colour, and she did not even wash it properly. And she just destroyed my hair! I came with nice long hair wishing make some changes in my look and cut it to my shoulders, and now i look like i grabbed my hair and cut it myself with the axe.
