Excellent checking-in with me by main office during loading and unloading. Delivery date remained uncertain for a while which was extremely stress-producing. Loading team was short-staffed and therefore worked 11 1/2 hrs and did an outstanding job of wrap-protecting furniture and delicate items.

L&J moved us from Pennsylvania to Kansas in June. Communication was exceptional from beginning to end. The team packed us up, loaded the truck, and unloaded us in KS. The entire process was top-notch professional. I cannot recommend L&J Moving high enough! We were extremely pleased with the price and process.

We were happy with the service. Driver showed up an hour early to prepare for the load. 3 additional guys then showed up to actually load the truck. The truck was very full and we were very concerned, but they got everything on the truck. The driver was very communicative and flexible to meet us at our storage unit in Florida. The driver had a great memory and was very organized. I believe that is the key to a successful move. Everything arrived and nothing was damaged.

We have used L&J Transportation on two moves from NJ to SC. Both moves were handled extremely well. Our first move was in May 2020 and Kevin handled it and was great. Now, this move in March 2021 was handled by Stan who was great as well. He was on time, careful with our possessions and extremely punctual. He did a phenomenal job. Kudos to your company for a job (jobs!) very well done!

The driver and crew who picked up and loaded our belongings in Bethlehem Pennsylvania were very polite and professional, as were the driver and crew who unloaded our belongings in Chattanooga Tennessee. However our belongings were 15 days late arriving and had been in storage at L&J’s storage facility during that time. It took many phone calls to find out exactly where our furniture was. We had no idea that our furniture was going to be put in storage. Nor did anyone inform us. We had several damaged items, one antique secretary was falling apart when we received it. Another antique rocker was missing its arm. We were the last load to be unloaded in Chattanooga and when the doors were opened it looked like the furniture had been thrown into the truck. The driver also documented this, as it was in this condition when she picked up the load. We now have to file a claim for damaged goods and the delay. This is a hassle and time consuming for us and very disappointing. When calling customer service about the issue I have been greeted with nonchalance and an uncaring attitude. I would not recommend North American Van lines or L&j.

Highly recommend L & J moving. Mark and his team were right on time, very professional, took good care of our belongings. They helped coordinate and perform our move with a short notice and even survived the rain to make sure our belongings got to our new home.

I took off from work early for an estimate/walkthrough at my apartment. It was a no call, No show. No one would pick up the phone when I tried calling to see what was going on, and get an ETA. Avoid this incompetent company.

4 hours late to pack.. no-show on day of delivery had to get hotel till next day.. not recommended at all

Overall this was a great experience. From working with Gyna and team coordinating move dates and times to filling out and signing contract. She was very responsive and answered all the questions we had. The movers Stan and Scott were tremendous. They were very careful in taking my furniture out of my house and then delivering to my storage location. They we awesome!!! I would highly recommend and will use this company again.

My first time using a professional moving company has been awful. I would not recommend anyone using L&J, or North American (their parent company). The day of my move was awful - office had no idea movers were not even at my home - internal communication was awful. The movers showed up 5 hours late and neither mover were professional. They raced to finish the job since they werent originally scheduled to move me. They packed 3 glass items for me that the office also told me would be FULLY PAID FOR if broken in my move (and the insurance package I chose would NOT apply). This was NOT the case. My antique vanity was damaged in 3 locations during the move. The claim process has taken 6 weeks and now I have a broken, not usable vanity, that Im being asked to pay my deductible for (at the end of the day Im losing money - movers packed, movers broke, I paid extra for them to pack and now I have to pay $500 to be given market valuation they determined to be $500 - I paid MUCH more than this to purchase this item). Please do your research and go with either United or Mayflower - I wish I would have.

My team (James, Kenny, Trevor) were terrific. They came on time, worked carefully and delivered my items in fine shape. I appreciated their diligence and good humor throughout a long day. Would recommend them in a heartbeat!

We used L&J Moving and Storage for a local move last week. James and his team were really fantastic. James very clearly was an expert mover and was training one of the other more junior movers during our move which we were impressed by (very patient, kind and knowledgeable). All three men were very pleasant to deal with and professional and courteous James and the team made sure before they left that everything was looking pretty and where we wanted it. This was only a temporary move for us and we will be moving to our final destination in December. We will be requesting James and his team again for our next move.

I had an excellent experience with L& J Moving. Their customer service was great. The movers were polite and professional. The movers coordinated the move well with the building staff. They were very efficient. All items were well wrapped and they were delivered with care. There was very little for me to do, except check off the numbered items as they were delivered. First off nobody wore masks in the move. Not in our old home or our new home. Also got very close to us to sign papers and didn’t offer to put one on. A lot of things got broken including an antique wooden rocker. We labeled all the boxes and the movers put them all over the place. Horrible experience. Won’t use them ever again.

L&J was a wonderful company to work with!!! We moved from Pennsylvania to Arizona which was very stressful but the packers came in and packed our 4 bedroom home within 6 hours time. Then the movers came in and loaded the truck up in a flash. Our things were delivered in Arizona the day we were told and the guys put thing’s wherever I requested. They were very thorough with everything and made a stressful time a lot less stressful. And to make things even better the move came in under estimate and we received a refund quickly.Working with L&J was a wonderful experience. Everyone I dealt with very professional and very helpful. Our driver was Justin and the main assistant was Whit...both very professional, courteous and careful with our goods and our home.They were at both ends of the operation which made for a much more consistent operation.Additional help was at each end of the move and was different people. On the packing & loading side the guys were friendly, attentive and steady.On the receiving end two others were on hand to assist Justin and Whit.While they were also friendly and courteous, one of them was not as hard a worker and would take the easy way out if you did not watch what he was doing.He was also clumsy, dropping numerous items and causing some Minor cosmetic damage to wall and front door....He also stuck some things inside of closets that should have went upstairs.Overall, a very good experience...we have moved 17 times, there is always something, nothing is ever perfect, but other than the one helper at the receiving side, everything was good.

I would highly recommend L & J moving. Made such a daunting interstate move so easy. From getting the quote, to the movers themselves, to the office staff...they wereall professional, prompt, courteous and very responsive. They are not the cheapest mover but you get what you pay for and sooo worth the additional investment. I would use them again in a second!

I posted a positive review about the unloaders earlier and I stand by that review. Also, the crew chief Dave was awesome. On the other side of that is a poor review from the business/adm end of things. One of the employees who has since been terminated wrote very vulgar and inappropriate things on some of our personal belongings. This has made me very anxious and uncomfortable. They used way more boxes than necessary to pack to inflate the cost to us (ie...they could have packed shoes at the bottom of wardrobe boxes but everything was separate). They held themselves out to be able to move large safes but did not have the proper equipment for their employees to do it safely. We had to hire another moving company to move the safes for us (above the 10K L&J already charged us for the move). I am not one to verbalize negativity but I do not feel as though the company took our issue very seriously. I will say it again...the guys who unloaded and Dave were excellent.

Pros: the movers and driver were professional. They were quick and efficient. My belongings arrived quicker than estimated. The move coordinator was able to work around my schedule for delivery of my vehicle.Cons: when I was given the quote, I was told the cost could go down, but it could not go up because of the type of estimate. The estimate included a shuttle service that was not used. The driver updated the paperwork to ensure I would not be charged for a shuttle that was not used. I did get charged anyway. I called and was informed that it would take 30 days to complete the audit for the refund. After 30 days I called again and it became a lot harder to reach the move coordinator. I escalated to a supervisor and was informed that they do not provide refunds for services not provided. Disappointing.

The best moving company ever. Professionals. Good driver and crew. Very attentive to our needs and concerns. Office staff kept us informed. Service is 10 out of 10. Will highly recommend to family and friends.

I had a very good experience with this moving company. The driver, Stan, really paid attention to the details making sure my furniture was properly wrapped and packed in the truck. He was just as attentive upon delivery in placing and putting furniture back together. Everything was accounted for and no damage so very happy with them.

The sales representative was friendly and professional. The one thing that he offered that the others did not was that any damage done to our belongings or to our new home during the moving process could be easily remedied by submitting a claim to them. We did not need to submit a claimThe movers were very efficient, conscientious, and kind. We had two sets since we were moving across several states. The driver of the truck remained the same throughout and monitored the loading and unloading of the truck. We had our belongings within a week of pick up. Much quicker than we anticipated which was a blessing.The best part was that the weight estimate of our belongings was slightly more than the actual weight, so we got some money back a few weeks later.All in all, we couldn’t be happier with our choice of movers.

Let’s face it, moving is not fun. It has to be one if the most stressful life events-especially when you decide to pack up an move a 4,000 square foot home’s contents in less than 6 weeks. 15 years, 6 kids worth of accumulated stuff, and there’s only one person (ME) to do it all.After 3 back-to-back estimates, we chose L&J for our out-of-state move. We could not have made a better choice! The truck and its crew arrived right on time on the appointed date, only to be met by a crazy lady in a state of complete panic (yup, ME). I wasn’t ready. At all. The poor guys were met first thing in the morning by a stressed, crying, exhausted mess of a human. I was met by the most compassionate, reassuring, ready to work guys I could hope for. After a quick assessment of what needed to be done & a call to their offices, they were able to push back the move date & get to work. Yes, I paid $$$$ for the extra packing days, but the guys were AMAZING and worth every single penny! They packed everything with care, and had a special “parts box” of all the important bits & pieces (screws, remotes, etc.), clearly labeled & guarded as if their lives depended on it. Packing took 2 days. Loading took 2 days due to house size and contents. They worked nonstop carefully loading the van. They definitely put in a full day’s work each day!Once the van arrived in VA, with the same crew (we’d become good buddies), they got right to work unloading. They were like a fine tuned machine, everyone knew just what to do. Furniture was placed, beds were assembled, boxes mostly to the right rooms (heh). Such an impressive group of guys! I truly don’t know what I would have done without them. My husband owes the continuation of our marriage to these guys. Ha!Seriously, if you’re looking for impeccable service, a very fair price, and the nicest guys around, use L&J. You won’t regret it!

This was the most unprofessional, disorganized stress causing mover I have ever used. They were not able to load our belongings in one truck on the day promised because they picked up another load before ours and could not fit our stuff. This was a major inconvenience. We had to scramble to find a place to sleep that night, thank goodness we had no pets or children with us.They picked up the rest of the stuff the next day and held it for TWO WEEKS before delivering it to our final destination. We asked the driver on the first day to make sure some of our belongings we new we needed on the other end were on the first truck and the request was completely ignored. The first driver told me he would take a plastic container full of candles and did not. Second driver refused and the moving company refused to send them to us. They took no ownership for the mistakes they made that cost us money and inconvenience.The entire experience was awful. I highly likely recommend hiring a different service. I have moved 7 times across country so know there are good ones out there! If I could give them 0 stars I would.

I WOULD RATE ZERO STARS IF I COULD!!! THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!! The movers themselves were fantastic, HARD WORKING CREW. However, L&J is run by people who truly dont care about about anything other than getting paid. I had numerous broken items that I never received compensation for. The moving crew arrived at my house without a clue they had both my house and a storage unit to load. I was promised by Ryan my items would be dropped off in the correct buildings at my new property. That did not happen, took me two weeks to move everything to the appropriate buildings. I was also assured everything would fit onto one truck load. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN!!!!! The movers had to make two trips and on top of that I had to make a dozen trips to my old house with a pick up truck and an SUV to get the remaining items. I FELT LIKE I MOVED MYSELF AND HAD TO PAY SOMEONE $4000!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!

From our first contact to the completion of the job, Tom and his team were there to answer any questions I had and ensured the move was completed on time and with no issues at all. I would definitely recommend them and look forward to using them in the future.

The pickup of our belongings was the most disorganized move that I have ever seen. It took four guys all day to pick up and load our belongings into two trucks. Two of the guys were more interested in their cell phone and talking to their baby mamas than moving our stuff. The third guy spent the whole day talking to himself and making weird noises. At the end of the day, the supervisor wanted one of the trucks, and the race was on to finish the move before the supervisor arrived.We were nice and gave the movers water and snacks. More about that later. Our stuff had to be moved into storage for three months. I called about a month ahead of time to arrange delivery. We could not get the date that we wanted delivery. So, we had to wait an extra day for delivery.The guys who delivered the stuff made this a three star review instead of a two star review. However, we found all of the water bottles and trash from the original moving crew stuffed in different containers. What a bunch of pigs!!!!!!I guess that you get what you pay for!?!?!

The men that packed and unpacked my home where excellent on both ends. They took great care to protect my furniture and all of my possessions. They were polite and professional the entire time they worked. They took care not to mark the walls as they moved furniture. They placed everything where it was to go and even moved things when I changed my mind. They were excellent overall.

Driver was outstanding but the unloaders were too few. I had to help unload in order for the driver to keep to his schedule. Overall the goods were received in good shape with some exceptions. A piano bench was not wrapped and was received in the scratched condition. Freezer and dryer showed a dent that was not present at the time of shipment.

Our move from New Jersey to Ohio could not have been made easier by the L&J group. The driver and crews at both ends were hard working and very knowledgeable of our needs. Not only did they move our furniture but an entire wood workshop to boot. Each item, household or large machine was wrapped and protected to a degree that I would have never thought needed. Everything arrived in perfect condition and keep on mind it poured rain at both end of the move. They protected both our old house and the new one from the soaking outside. Short staffed resulting in late packing until 10:30 at night and late loading the next day. Return phone calls were nonexistent. Actually very little damage on our long move but a good bit on the local move. The lead for the local move was a complete and total jerk. Purchased full replacement insurance - company tried to send me $50 for a damaged item. Never move in June and find another mover. Maria Mattson was the only bright spot in this company.

Packers were fairly good. Only 3 of the 4 showed up the second day; therefore causing the packing to conclude late in the evening. The actual movers were speedy and also appeared to do the job well. After the truck was loaded everything changed. I was given a window of 5 to 9 days for delivery of our belongings. After the truck left our house that was all I heard from the company. By the day prior to the last day of the window, I still had not heard a word. I spoke with our coordinator who relayed that I should have heard from the driver to set up the arrival time, and that he would check into it. The next day a moving truck with a different trailer arrives at my house. When I greeted the driver and told him this was not my truck, he showed me the paperwork, and opened the doors to the trailer. Yes, it did contain my belongings, but not packed as I had witnessed the week prior. After phone calls to my coordinator, I only then find out that my original trailer had been in an accident somewhere in Pennsylvania (where the move originated). The driver had hit an overpass, causing the roof to peel back like a can. I can only wonder if I had not inquired about the trailer would they have informed me of the accident?The men unloading the trailer were awful...well, 3 of the 4 were. I was told by the claims department to inspect everything thoroughly when uloaded and to take photos. She also said to tell the men to slow down if necessary for me to keep up with the inspections. The driver himself told me they could not do that, they needed to keep their pace and I needed to keep up with them. They guys putting the furniture together were careless, and damaged more of my bedroom furniture while assembling than what was damaged in the accident. And trust me, a lot of furniture was damaged either in the accident, or while they were moving it from the wrecked trailer to the one that actually delivered it. It really kind of ticks me off especially considering that all of the packers and movers were tipped generously, and were fed lunch, beverages, snacks, and on one instance, dinner while they were working for us.The claims was a long and tedious job, several pages including initial cost, from where, replacement values, and photos. Way too much research for something that was someone elses fault. The bright star was the furniture restoration company they sent to our house to make repairs, and to take furniture to their shop that had sever damage. They were great, and although for a move that happend in May I just received my furniture this past week. (partly my fault for taking so long with the claims). To date I still have not unpacked all of the boxes (not unpacking holiday decorations and such until necessary), but thank goodness I have up until 9 months to get a final claims report in.The most unsettling thing about this move was the accident, and the lack of information given to me in regards to it. I was finally sent one photo, only shown from the rear of the trailer. No other information other than it was somewhere in PA and that the driver has been removed from the road. The fact that they did not notify me of the accident...like I said earlier, would they have said anything had I not realized that it was a different trailer? (original one was white, the delivered one was orange) Also, we went through a relocation company via our realtor...if we had done this on our own, and by reading all of the previous reviews here, would we still be dealing with trying to get a claims paid? I can only guess that we would be. I understand accidents happen (literally and figuratively), but the lack of communication is completely unacceptable!Clearly a total lack of disrespect shown to me and my family. NO, I would NOT recommend this company.

The people were friendly, polite and very helpful.
