Took a trip the second week of July with my dad and a friend. Great time! The boat is well-maintained and outfitted. Capt Mike was ready to go as soon as we got there. He knows the area, knows the seasons, has quantity gear, and put us on some incredible fish. Some of the biggest stripers I’ve ever seen only because Mike knew how to get them. Even finished the trip up with some Sea Bass and Scup for fish tacos.I can’t recommend ArchAngel charters more. Reasonable rates, awesome boat, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic captain, and an all around great time.

Cpt. Mike was amazing. Boat was amazing. Trip was amazing. Very professional fun, and enjoyable trip! Great trip Captain Mike had us in fish all day. We had caught some stripers, black Sea bass, fluke and scup. Learned a ton about fishing the area and what the fish like. All the equipment and bait was perfect and helped to ensure we had fish on the whole time. We had 5 on the boat fishing and was plenty of room. I look forward to going back out with Archangel soon.

Went in late spring for striped bass, had a great day filled with action and beat my personal best twice in one day. Sharking in July is also a fantastic experience, you’ve got to try it! Captain is extremely experienced and knowledgeable. Vessel was clean and well equipped. Rods and reels were top notch quality. Definitely give them a call!

To sum up this review: Captain Mike at ArchAngel Charters knows how to put you on the fish!On a family trip to Newport I was easily able to charter Captain Mike via text message from his listing on google. Two days later, Captain Mike picker us up via boat in Newport and had us slaying fish shortly after. The action didn’t stop all day. We hit fish trolling, top water chasing the bird flocks, and drifting the rock fields. We caught easily 35+ fish of which we hit our striped bass and black sea bass keeper limit.Boat is high-tech and comfortable and sails super smooth. Captain Mike is professional and his service is top notch. Highly recommend for fishing charter out of Newport.

Best ever fishing charter day we had. He was an awesome captain. Knew where to go how to catch them. Non stop action. Would definitely go again and again. If you ever want to go charter fishing, do not go anywhere else. Go with Captain Mike.

We had a great Day on the Water with Capt Mike and Iggy aboard the Arch Angel Fishing Charter. Capt Mike put us on the bass right out of the gate. We had a great trip with Captain Mike last August. It was my wife my three kids (7,11 &13) and myself. Windy, rough day but Mike found great water and plenty of fish. Mike was AWESOME with the kids. Mike and Arch Angel were such an incredible choice as a fishing charter for our group. We were 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We all caught fish and our teenagers were so excited when they each reeled in the largest of our catch that day! Mike is such a professional but also joked with all of us and made us feel as if we had been friends for years. He is beyond experienced in fishing and boating. There were storms predicted and he had us out to fish and back and on shore before the rain started. His timing was terrific and we all felt very safe and had such an incredible time.

This being my first charter, I wasn’t sure what to expect but captain Mike surpassed all expectations. The three of us each caught at least 6 bass. He knows where the fish are!!! This was our second time out shark fishing with Captain Mike, and it was an absolute blast. Couldnt keep the sharks off the line, totaling 20 for the trip. But while the fishing was great, the company was even better. Mike is a great guy and so is his first-mate, Cam. You feel that you are fishing with friends and that just makes the entire experience even better. My family went out shark fishing with Captain Mike and his mate, Cam, last week and had an absolutely fabulous time. Captain Mike is not only incredibly knowledgeable about the fishery, but really seems to enjoy what he does. We have gone out on several fishing charters over the years, but this one was by far our favorite. We felt very welcome on the boat, and while Captain Mike instructed us where appropriate, he was the farthest thing from overbearing. And Cam was an incredibly hard working young man -- and ideal first mate who I have no doubt will ultimately captain his own vessel.Thank you Mike and Cam for a great day on the water.
