Do not come here!!!! Please go somewhere else. They will tell you a manager will call and they never do. I brought a dishwasher from here brand new and it had a dent in. and they want to offer me credit . Hell no!!! They couldn’t have dropped it or it could be damaged. Also they were unable to hook my dishwasher up-stating they can’t do any hard wiring. Please save your money and headache and go Lowe’s or Home depot where there are professionals

Purchased a reconditioned washer here in 2015 with no problems. I like to support small businesses when I can.However, I do not recommend that anyone purchase anything reconditioned here now. I was sent 3 broken appliances. The repairman couldnt fix the stove(wont stop beeping), replaced a fuse on the dryer but it still overheats and replaced a water pump and valves on the washer but he was really congested and cant smell the burning smell that my husband and I smell with the washer when it is running. He initially didnt even have a mask on and acted like he didnt need to wear a mask. I asked him to wear a mask and had to provide him a mask because he didnt even have one. Then, he only partially wore the mask (1 strap instead of both straps). We are currently under a statewide mask mandate. Im on chemo and said I dont feel comfortable with someone in my house with Covid symptoms or any illness and I asked for a different repairman. I reported this to the health department and am waiting to hear back from them. The store said they dont have any other repairmen and offered to replace washer with a different refurbished machine that is also likely broken. I requested to talk to the manager and owner about this.The manager called me back and said they would refund the washer. Then, they sent me a letter full of lies - they said I refused a replacement washer and anyone to come into my house which is not true. I only asked for no sick people in my house and to talk to a manager.Furthermore, they refunded my washer and revoked the 6 month warranty on ALL 3 appliances. I dont have any problem with them revoking the warranty on the washer since they refunded it. They decided to not come a pick it back up. However, I do not agree that they revoke the warranty on the appliances that I paid for in full and they know also have serious problems. They said they could revoke the 6 month warranty any time they want to. I said again that I do not agree and that I would never have bought any reconditioned appliances without a 6 month warranty. I requested a refund on the other 2 broken appliances if they are going to not guarantee them for 6 months and they refused. The manager kept speaking over me and wouldnt listen to me and I again asked to speak to the owner and was hung up on for no reason. I called back and was told I am harrassing them. All I did was ask for a refund and to speak to the owner. I left a message in their voice box for the owner to call me.Worst customer service ever. I now have 3 broken machines that they wont fix and will only refund 1. All I ask is that they fix all 3 or refund all 3. I will be contacting my credit card company as all 3 machines came with a 6 month warranty and none of them work right and they wont refund even though its been less than 2 weeks and they cant fix them. Im disabled and just learning to walk again after being in a wheelchair for 2 years. This company takes advantage of disabled people.Update: they just agreed to pick up all 3 broken appliances and a full refund.Update: I paid $725.94 and they only refunded $657.04 and they arent answering their phones. I finally got in touch with someone who said they will not refund the remaining $68.90 and that if I contact them again they will call the police. What has the world come to that businesses treat loyal customers like this? I will take this up with my credit card company and possibly the BBB. Its really sad when companies take advantage of the disabled.

I bought a reconditioned fridge here. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, they had a good variety of fridges at good prices with a 6 month warranty. Delivery was $50 to the oceanfront and the delivery guys were very friendly.

We bought a washer from here a week ago. First load the washer is jumping... They say they test it before they sell it- but I struggle to believe that with how the washer worked (or didnt). We ran the washer a few more times to make sure... And every time it jumped... It sounded like a gun war. We called to see how to return and they said they could send someone out to look about 5 days later. We couldnt wait that long so we asked about the return policy. They said they require 20% restocking fee... So we need to pay for that even though it was sold broken.I called a few days later and asked again and same thing. I was told the owner was sick and wouldnt be in. I was told they would print the return papers and have it in a check for us. I asked if they could pick it up or if we had to get it back and I was told that because we didnt pay for a delivery fee, we would have to return it. But I wasnt really given an option to pay for anything? I would have gladly paid for a delivery fee.... But ok So we return it. We show up and we unload the washer for them, we walk in and we tell them were here to return a washer, and they questioned it and seemed very confused. We are then told that the owner was still out and sick, Just like he was yesterday And that he would not be able to write a check. But I was told they would have a check. I wasnt aware that the owner had to be on site in order to write the check. So that was definitely misinformative. They told us they would take the washer and call us when he was there. But we did not feel comfortable leaving the washer there with them and our receipt for no way of proof for bringing it back. So, we currently have our washer in the back of our car.... We just want to return our washer.The issue was not so much that they couldnt get a repairman out sooner, we understand holidays and how people get busy, we find it slightly frustrating we still have to pay the restocking fee for them selling us a broken washer, and the reason for that being we did not give them an opportunity to come and check it. What we find frustrating is their lack of communication, their poor customer service, and unpleasant attitudes. There was lack of clarity in all levels... we wont be returning other than to hopefully get this washer off our hands!

I will never work with this company again. 10 appointments for granite countertops and they are still not right. This company does not value their customers time. Photo 1 is what they brought out the first time. No granite installer who cares at all about their work would expect a customer to accept this. Photo 2 shows a slab not cut to size - 1/4 inch gap on one side. The installer didnt feel that he needed to make a template to get it right. Guess he was wrong. Photo 3 shows the crappy epoxy job on the corner that was recut. Photo 4 shows the countertops were not leveled - discovered when I was adding the tile backsplash and it did not line up from one side of the sink to the other. Photo 5 shows this area after it was fixed. Adding shims in the back and not the front makes the sink sit uneven. 10 times I arranged my schedule to meet these folks at this job site. They charged me $150 for a piece to bridge the two sides behind the sink - it was not needed nor was it installed. Enough is enough. We will fix this ourselves and do our best to warn others not to deal with this company. They take no pride in their work and dont appear to know what they are doing.

I have purchased used appliances from various places. This was the worst!! Bought a washer that wreaked of mildew when it was used. I was told too bad, its as is. Run a cycle with bleach. I am fine with as is, but if you regularly recondition appliances, you should have been able to take care of that without issue. I am not upset about the issue, it is the complete lack of service to resolve it. This was my first and only time using them. Got to No Stuff Appliances. They have worked to rectify issues like this EVEN WITH AS IS PURCHASES.

This is one of the most impressive businesses I have ever seen. By far, this is the most well run business in Portsmouth. I have ordered appliances, flooring, cabinets, and counter-tops from Brad and have been incredibly impressed. The prices are great, but the service sets this place apart - Brad gives you his cell number and he actually answers. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. No matter where you live in southeastern Virginia, do yourself a favor and drive to Portsmouth to work with Brad.

I came to Brads for a refrigerator. I made the purchased and noticed the same day that is wasnt getting cold. They sent out a repair person who said they fixed it (they didnt) and that they needed to order a new fan. I subsequently went in because I had not heard back regarding the fan order. I was met by the owner and explained what happened; he let me exchange for another fridge. The second fridge worked fine however the ice maker wasnt working. I again called and the lady basically told me they could fix it or exchange it for another and pay the difference. I didnt like that because as a single mother of 6 I had to save just to be able to purchase the one that I bought. They sent someone out per my request because it wasnt as big of a deal as the first one with not cooling my food however I still want a working refrigerator. They have fixed the problem but now the stripping is losing suction on the freezer side. I have called and they are sending someone to fix it. I gave them 3 stars because they do work with you and will fix the problem but these type of issues I believe should be fixed and tested before shipping the product. As these are MAIN functions of a refrigerator. I could only imagine what would happen has if actually purchased an expensive one. So all.in all customer service is great; just need to make sure products are reconditioned and working properly. Im.just praying nothing happens after 6 months because then Ill have to spend more.money on a fridge when money is already tight especially with the covid pandemic.I would like to be able to.do more.business with them I just dont want to risk buying a faulty product. UPDATE.....I AM GIVING 1 STAR AND IF I COULD GIVE ZERO I WOULD. The replacement refrigerator went completely out. It needed new convertor or whatever its called....something that shouldnt go out in a refrigerator that was just purchased. I called and was told there was NOTHING they could do because my warranty expired TWO WEEKS PRIOR!....even tho it wasnt the original one purchased. So even tho you get a bad appliance the warranty covers the replacement with the same purchase date.....how if its not even the same product. The owners daughter gave me a story about how they cant do anything and that shes going to tell the owner...her father...to go BACK to 90 day warranties. So not fix the product, not make sure products sold work properly, not give an exception for a 2 week past warranty situation....but change the policy to cover themselves.....completely unprofessional! So Im out $500+ but they get to keep my money and Im stuck with a broken refrigerator in the middle of a pandemic.....not to mention when it went out ROACHES started coming out of the motor where apparently theyve been since I had it DISGUSTING! I will never purchase from them again.....and I advise anyone thinking about it to look elsewhere. Try east coast they were great and I got a great deal! And its still.working perfectly

Went looking for a used set of washer and dryer. No such luck everything mismatch. The salesman said I had to pay extra for hoses electrical plug vents. Not even a discount for cash. So I went to Norfolk and now have a beautiful matching set of Maytags. Definitely wont be back.

I visited the store today August 7, 2020 in search of cabinets and countertops. First, I was not acknowledged or greeted upon entering the store. The lady working there was with customers and the gentleman sitting at the desk did not ask if I needed help. I was in the store approximately 10 minutes before I decided not to spend my money there. The other customers had left and the lady was once again behind the counter. She did ask if I had any questions as I was walking out. Nope no questions just taking my business elsewhere.

I was going to give Brads a good review at first I have had good and bad experiences with this store but nothing like this The purchased a refrigerator and look d for one without any cracked bins the delivery guy dropped it in my house cracked the bin I asked did he break anything he said no I found out he cracked a bin I did say much although I was really mad cause I went though so much to get the delivery and they were nice they never hooked the water up cause they didn’t have a hose I went to Lowe’s did it myself what makes me mad is I asked was everything working told yes we test everything the refrigerator was leaking water all over my floor I mean puddles of water I called them three days later they send a tech that’s says it’s the thermostat we my have one we my have to order needless to say that was Friday morning I called Brads Friday evening to ask what’s going on the receptionist that answers the phone never gives you a clean answer told me to but dry ice I asked to leave a message so the owner could call me and he never did now I’m worried about my floor being damaged and my good going bad they have very poor customer service you don’t do customers like this that’s bad business I’m use to a technician coming and fixing the issue I had a part go out on a old refrigerator called the technician out he fixed it right away it just a thermostat in sure Lowe’s or and store here has it this is ridiculous my last time purchasing an appliance from there

We bought our first stove from Brads in 2012 and after 7 years of use it just recently started acting up. It was a refurbished stove and instead of trying to fix that one we came back to Brads just to look. We ended up finding the stove we wanted, another refurbished today and have enjoyed the process! Definitely a great place to come look for your appliances and kitchen needs.

Purchased supposedly refurbished refrigerator for 399.99 plus 55.00 delivery for total of 482.00 refrigerator was broken John the repairman came 2 days later on Friday said defrost switch was stuck that it was fixed 2 hours after he left refrigerator was broke again on Monday theysaid it would be 2 days before repairman could come back to look at it woman in office very rude all she could say is I don’t get my 55.00 delivery fee back and it will be 20 percent restocking fee 80.00 took my 482.00 and tried to give me a check for 339.20 for a broken refrigerator luckily the credit card company will deal with these crooks I sent her check back to her this is unacceptable please do not deal with Brads I went and bought 2 new refrigerators from Best Buy if woman tried to make it better I would have purchased from Brads but they are dishonest Please make a purchase from a reputable place

Great experience! Mehdi was a consummate Proffessional and quite the salesman. I appreciate his non pressured approach and how friendly he was to my children. Do not buy granite from them! Wife went in and picked out a granite top for a vanity. 350 after tax, which was fine, but they made us pay up front for an in-stock item. It needed holes cut for the faucet. They told us it would be done overnight. We ended up calling every day and finally got it 5 days later. Customer service for the sale was great, but while waiting for the holes to be cut it was extremely rude. The excuse we kept getting was they were having granite emergencies. We asked for 4 center set and got 8in widespread. My wife didnt realize till it was home. The holes were off center by an inch from the drain, and are not equidistant from each other. The sink hole is not cut very well and appears wavy. The back splash and the side splash both only have one end polished, coincidentally the opposite of what we needed. After my experience with a simple vanity top, i would be very wary of all the granite emergencies they are having. Check out the better business bureau site. Brads apparently gives you a 5 dollar discount to post a positive review, but you have to do that up front...lol!

You get what you pay for. The warranty is a joke and requires someone to come out to your home to service the appliance. In some cases a part may need to be ordered so you then have to wait for that. Please realize that customers use their stove daily and this is a huge inconvenience, especially if a weekend is involved. At best an even exchange would be more appropriate. I will never shop here again as this is the second time I have purchased an item that stop working (And just for the record the item was purchased in my property manager’s name who attempted to return it on 5/3/19). Way to take care of a repeat customer!

I am a local Property Manager in the area and was very excited when I found another company that carried re-conditioned appliances. I met with the GM Hal who was very nice and told me many stories of happy customers. The process of buying the appliances was very easy. THEN they were delivered. What a fiasco. The deliverymen were trying to fit a 32 refrigerator through a 29 opening. After about 20 minutes and several scratches to my walls and dings to my freshly painted baseboards, I suggested that they may consider removing the doors. After another 20 minutes of failed attempts I was told that the door frame would have to come off and they left the refrigerator in the doorway. Showed me how to re-install the doors and wished me luck. After a full day of us getting the refrigerator installed and put back together I called because of a service issue. I also asked that Hal call me at that same time. After 3 days of trying to reach service or Hal - still no return call. Obviously customer service to get the sale is fantastic but once you are hooked then you are dropped like a hot potato. I will wait from now on for my contractor to get re-conditioned appliances or buy new. This was insane.

Bought a dryer last year didnt dry well but didnt pay much so I let it go of course Ive purchased another dryer since from someone else then my fiancee on his own ended up there to get me a washer 209$ and it wont rinse and spin first day my son kept working the control to get the water out we had to wait a week for the technician that now has to put in a work order for a timer I simply told the man that all this waiting is unacceptable and that we will be returning it for a refund ( so now instead of calling me again they call my fiancee to tell him I was mean to the technician and theres nothing wrong with the washer wow what now

Brads gives you all the advantages of a locally owned mom + pop shop, with even better inventory and pricing than large chain stores. Customer service is wonderful. They provide genuine service and care. Theyve always gone above and beyond with customer service. Have dishwasher, dryer and fridge from them which they hand-selected and delivered since I didnt have time to drive to store.

I have been buying from Brads for years since at least 2009 and I love coming here. They are a retail store so they cannot promise the world but they are normally pretty down to earth. They used products have always held up for me. I know you can always get a lemon no matter who you go through but Brads does offer a 6 month warranty just in case. I come here for my parts as well. As of todays date I still come to Brads and love it.

I cant tell you how miserable my experience was with them. First they could not repair my existing stove, but that happens. I went there to get a simple smoothtop range but their window for deliveries was 6 hrs, almost impossible for me to do. I kept telling them I could only wait 4 hours on two delivery days, they would not work with me at all on that. Then third time I stayed home on a Sat and they delivered the wrong stove. Obviously didnt order it right or check the order number and items numbers prior to delivery. They were so mortified they said they would order the new one and put me first in line when it showed. They called the night before, said 930-1045, I said okay, this morning they call at 1030 and said Id have be in the 12-6pm window, there were 4 others ahead of me. I hit the roof. These people are incredibly incompetent. They cant communicate with each other and they have a real inventory problem, and awful, awful, awful customer service. Stay away.

As a first time customer I am very disappointed purchased a washer from them some days ago had to wait 2 days before it could be delivered just to get it and it doesn’t even work right after the end of each load my clothes are still soaking wet it took me a hour to squeeze the water out of my clothes before putting in the dryer cause I didn’t want to mess my dryer up hopefully they will honor their warranty and replace it

Purchased dryer on 6/2/2018 and was VERBALLY advised of delivery date by sales rep Krystal. Expected delivery was supposed to be on 6/6/2018. She explained she could not provide a time until that day which was dependent on the routes.....all lies.....never thought I had to check my receipt to verify delivery date that was told to me. Basically when they never called or showed up on 6/6/2018 they acted clueless like they had no idea what I was talking about.....finally told me my delivery date was for another week out which was NEVER told to me. So I asked for a refund because this place seems very shady.....They did not have a care in the world that I wasted my day sitting around waiting for a delivery based on lies. They will tell you anything to make a sell basically. Now they are giving me the run around about a refund saying they need to get the owners approval to refund my money and magically he is so busy that they cannot ask him that simple question. Most of these reviews are probably done at the time of purchase because the ask for you to review in store to get a $5.00 discount off your purchase. I did not do the review because how can I rate the product or level of service before you have actually provided it. So I would not trust these happy reviews on google, they probably did it for a discount. Will update this review when and if I receive a refund.UPDATE: 6/8/2018 @ 11:11 AMJust received notification of the stores reply to my rating. Yes they did refund my money after this posting was made and after I entered a dispute in with my bank. Of course they continue to LIE and say my only day I was available was on a Wednesday....lies....I actually WORK FROM HOME so I am available everyday at home. I was more inconvenienced because I had moved my old dryer and placed it in the living room that morning to help them out even though they were going to move it. I also moved things in my hallway so they would have a clear path when they came. So I wasted my time and had to move all this stuff back when they did not arrive. I thought they were coming on Wednesday 6/6/2018 because that is what I was told. I still hold firm that you should stay away from this place and read ALL REVIEWS.....like I said they give discounts for in-store reviews so the good ones are possibly fraudulent. Please take care of your worker Krystal cause she lied and is still telling lies to keep her job. She possibly gets a commission check and this could be her motivation to make promises she knows she cannot keep. The manager Gryphin did take of my issue. I actually had expected the store owner to come and greet me when I came for my refund and apologize personally and ask what can I do to keep your business. I have never experienced such horrible service in my life! The first fridge they gave us did not keep cool so they sent a repair person out. They were unable to repair the same day because they had to order the part. We had to wait two days for the part. They came back to repair and it still did not work. So two repairs and still not working !! Finally they switched the fridge out for a second one. Unbelievably this one did not keep cool either. After horrible customer service including being lied to and insulted, they finally agreed to switch the second one out too. They brought the third one out and not only did it not work, there were dead bugs and eggs believed to be roach eggs inside. Tons of them. After they delivered it and we found this we went straight up to the store to ask that they rectify this right away. Unfortunately it was 4:10 and the store closed at 4:00 that day and even though they had just delivered the fridge only 45 minutes before that, and the workers including the manager and the delivery persons were still there, we were told by the manager, Mike that they were closed and there was nothing they could do for us. Finally on Monday after keeping the non working / roach infested fridge over the weekend, they picked up the fridge and issued a refund. I was lied to more than one time in the midst of all of this, I was personally insulted and treated like I was in the wrong when all the while they were delivering junk appliances each time. All I wanted from the beginning was a working fridge for me and my family. Yet no one there seemed to show any form of compassion, even after two failed repairs, bugs and three refrigerators. My husband missed a day of work waiting on them, I had to use my lunch break three times to meet them at the house not to mention consuming two Saturdays waiting on them to deliver, we lost food more than one time and thru all of this not one apology was said, absolutely no acknowledgement of a problem, instead we were treated as if we were inconveniencing them rather than the other way around. Please do not use this company if you do, you likely go thru the very same issues that my family experienced!

BUYER BEWARE - On 3/8/19 I purchased what I was told to be a good working condition washer & dryer. On 3/11/19 both were delivered and set up, my old machines hauled away. First load of laundry made the entire machine bounce across the floor. Contacted Brads with my displeasure about it being a non-working machine on the first day and wanted to return it. They refused and stated they would send a repair man out to check the machine. Repairman stated that the machine was missing parts and that it should have been caught prior to being put on salesroom floor. I was told that I would have to wait on parts to fix a broken machine that was expected to work on day one. I refused and asked for a different machine. Store agreed. Paid $20 more to get a different machine which was delivered on 3/15/19. 30 minutes after machine was delivered and set up, went to use machine and after the machine filled up with water, the entire water content of the machine poured out from under the machine into my house, kitchen and dining room. I called the store and they agreed to accept the machines for refund. Went to the store for refund and was told that I could not have a full refund. They stated no refund on the delivery charges. I must pay delivery for broken machines. They stated that I still received a dryer (which was also returned), because we must assume that the dryer that was never used - must be in working condition. After receiving two broken machines, why should we assume that the dryer was working. Either way my flooring is ruined from the large amount of water damage. The employees were rude, not helpful, and acted like I was the problem for expecting what I paid for. They were very defensive and non-apologetic about my home being damaged due to their machine. I was forced to pay for their mistakes of selling faulty equipment. This place is a scam. They get you to buy using their 6 month repair warranty, they want you to buy broken machines and be stuck with them and then have you wait for repair. They refused to give me my old machines unless I paid a restocking fee of $20 per broken machine. I asked a number of times to speak to the owner, which still has not happened. My home is damaged from their bad machine and they have offered nothing but to take part of my money from my purchase.

Does not service military members located on base. This is the recommendated company by Frigidaire to service washer/dryer but they are unwilling to accommodate the needs of a service member. Frigidaire need to remove this company from the list of recommended repairs since they have limitations to their services.

Horrible experience from the beginning. I purchased 3 refurbished refrigerators and in less than 30 days, 2 have broken down. One has broken down twice and the other I called in and they never called my tenant and didnt remember that I even called. I asked for a refund and I was told again that the owner was out of town and no one can make decisions but the owner. My tenants have lost their food!! I was told once that theyre a small family company, which I admire family and small business. But hire people to fix your appliances. FOOD IS IMPORTANT! I hate that I have to go to this length to hopefully get resolution, but this is ridiculous! #SoDisappointed

Purchased a refurbished refrigerator, it broke. It was repaired and broke again. At that point they sent out a different refurbished fridge that also broke. We ended up returning that fridge and was given a discount on purchasing a new fridge. Overall I wasnt happy about the issues with the refurbished refrigerators but happy with the customer service and help they offered in getting us a new one, they offered us a discount on a new one to make up for the food that was lost with the first 3. Like the new appliance side, but not so much on the refurbished appliances.

If you are looking for a great place to purchase home appliance or get remodeling jobs done, Brads Home Center at 3410 High St, Portsmouth, is the place to go! My husband and I have purchased all of our appliances from Brads and have always gotten nothing but the best service every time. SO...when it came time to finally do the remodel on our hall bathroom...of course we came to see Brad. From the very beginning, they worked so hard to ensure we were taken care of. Having been in the remodeling profession for 33 years, Brad has the knowledge necessary to oversee every project you could possibly think of...our bathroom was in HORRIBLE condition, the floors were sagging due to a floor joist that had been cut into. Brads came in replaced ALL of the joists, replaced or made repairs to many of the studs that had been damaged, replaced insulation, replaced drywall, replaced and repaired plumbing, rewired electrical, installed GFI outlets to ensure that the electrical outlets around the sink were safe...not to mention all of the beautiful tile work they did. This end result was one that not just took care of the structural issues but was also beautiful and added value to our home as well. So, I cannot say enough, if you have any remodeling needs or are looking on a good deal on home appliances, Brads Home Center is the way to go. They will do awesome work, and they are not looking to rip you off in the process.

After these idiots cut my bathroom countertop wrong, then lied about the type of counter tops that where available in my kitchen... then gave us the wrong type of counter tops at that. Brad him self after we confronted him on the lie and the lack of competence from his company backed out of the contract. Waisted 4 weeks of my time and slowed down my renovation. He did give me my money back only not to be sued. I will never do business or recommend somone doing business with this man.

Never get a warranty from this place they do not stand behind their products, what a joke to spend hundreds of extra dollars for peace of mind only to be given the run around by Salesmen at brads. I have had at least three calls with the contracted out warranty company brads uses on hold each call for 35 40 and an hour 15 min wait each, no one knows whats going on and Brads has a service dept but wont lift a finger. Been over a week and im still waiting to find out when are dryer will be repaired. We have three kids and no time..brads will NEVER get our buisness again and the warranty company and i use that term very loosely Warrantec i assure you is a NIGHTMARE to deal with, complete and total incompetence, go here at your own risk, dont say you werent warned

WATCH OUT! They sold a floor model to us. It arrived without the manual and installation instructions. We had to insist that they go back to get and deliver this information. There was a long delay for installation, so we elected to have it installed by a reputable local company. They pointed out that the microwave had food spatter all over the inside. Also, the microwave had been delivered without the installation template. Parts needed for installation were also missing. So, this cost us over $75 more for installation. Appliance Enterprises were unresponsive when we called them about this problem. They denied it had been used (depsite the clear evidence to the contrary - food and grease spatter all over the door and interior) and refused to adjust the price to make good on the difference of the installation cost due to their neglicence. AVOID THIS COMPANY. They are unreliable and not truthful. If I could give a minus star I would.
