I used Alten Sakai for a 2018 Tax Return. The firm made several mistakes with my tax filing due to improperly reading instructions on several forms. They told me I owed money, but both Federal and state authorities caught the mistakes from my accountants at Alten Sakai and ended up refunding me. Thats right the IRS caught several mistakes made by Alten Sakai which amounted to several thousands of dollars. When approaching them about the mistakes they made, they were not apologetic but very defensive and said we tried our best and we are glad someone caught the mistake. I also asked them to provide advice on how to manage my tax liability and they responded that they are not equipped to provide this advice and to please consult with a larger CPA firm. This firm is also not cheap, and for all the money you pay them you would expect better attention to detail and a higher level of service (I paid them ~ $3k for their services)! I highly recommend using someone else for tax preparation.
