Maxwell and his crew recently did a full renovation of the kitchen in our 1926 bungalow. Our kitchen came in on budget, on time, and with incredible workmanship. We would work with Maxwell again on any project and recommend him without reservation. Maxwell and Devon were on site every day and so easy and fun to work with. Maxwells subs for design, flooring, cabinets, plumbing, electrical and tiling were all very good; his excellent relationships with them had obviously built up goodwill for flexibility in scheduling and quick addressing of the very few problems that arose. Maxwell has a similarly excellent relationship with the city inspectors; his planning ahead and solid reputation helped our project pass all inspections the first time around. The work area was sealed off and fully cleaned up at the end of every day. Our project was a tricky one, fitting all the elements of a modern kitchen into an area with three doors and a full wall of windows, and required several custom solutions. Maxwell worked with us up front to develop a viable plan with a doable budget and gave great advice about where to spend money and where to save it. Once the budget was set, he stuck to it and went above and beyond in all the finishing details to make the project just right. The kitchen now fits with the rest of our historic home and looks like its always been there. Were already saving up for our next project with Green Light Construction.
We hired Maxwell and Devon to finish our unfinished basement (re-do stairs to basement, new bedroom, full bathroom, laundry/utility room, bar, and living room, new HVAC and AC, and new water lines throughout the house), create a back door in our kitchen, and a new covered patio going out to the backyard. Maxwell and his designer Kathryn did an excellent job listening to what we wanted, and created a design that flowed perfectly in the space we had, within the budget we were targeting. We initially started working with Maxwell and Devon before the pandemic hit. As soon as it did, they immediately implemented safety protocols and did an excellent job social distancing and required mask wearing. When sub-contractors were working in the basement, they worked on other projects outside the basement, so there werent too many people in an enclosed space at once. On top of dealing with all of the bumps of a large scale project, in the middle of a pandemic, they did excellent and timely work on all fronts, and were a joy to get to know and work with on a daily basis, which says A LOT. Dont take my word for it, take a look at their Instagram account (@greenlightconstruction) and other reviews, and youll see that the quality of their work speaks for itself.I have already recommended Green Light Construction to several of my friends who are considering remodeling projects, and I will continue to do so in the future. Thank you, Maxwell and Devon, for all of the hard work you put in! We have been thoroughly enjoying our new spaces, and will for years to come!
Maxwell, Devon and all his subs did an amazing job on a total remodel of my basement. Its was 1200 sq ft of 1933 original everything. There was a lot of updating to be done. This project included new bedroom, new bathroom, remodeled kitchen, office and laundry.I have done 3 other smaller remodels on my house and this was by far the best. Maxwell did all the due diligence up front so there were no surprises along the way. Maxwell wrote me weekly reports of what had been accomplished and what to expect in the next week. The communication was smooth. Hes a good listener and problem solver. There were small decisions along the way and he included me just when he knew Id like to know the direction they were taking. Its now been a few weeks since they finished and honestly I havent found anything that I would change.Maxwell, Devon, and all the subs were great to work with. After all the up front inspection and design work, Maxwell came in on budget and on time. This is amazing to me because we were essentially opening up the guts of the house - new electrical, plumbing, insulation, etc. Maxwell is part of the FIR program which allowed for fast inspections along the way.If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would call Maxwell right away to work on other parts of my house. Hes the best.
Maxwell and Devon did a great job on our master bath remodel. Everything was replaced, including the floor. There was also a minor remodel (replacing the vanity and painting) in a guest bath. Maxwell is hard working, organized and an all around great guy. There were a few hiccups (as happens with any complex project), but none were the fault of Maxwell, and he handled them beautifully. Devon is hard working and a joy to have around.
I found Max by looking at Google Maps reviews, so Ill cut to the chase: Hire Max if youre looking for someone who is dependable, communicative, and does great work. He is the first contractor weve ever hired, but from stories Ive heard, that combo isnt necessarily easy to find in a contractor.Max completely gutted and rebuilt our bathroom. He took this space down to the studs, and in about 8 weeks (in the middle of the pandemic), we had the bathroom of our dreams. It feels like a boutique hotel bathroom now.I would absolutely not hesitate to work with him again, because he was nothing but kind, helpful, and professional. He did what he said he was going to do, when he said he would do it, and he hires subcontractors who do the same. The phrase from that ubiquitous poster, Work hard and be nice to people, sums him up, to the point where when he was finishing up, I said to my husband, Its weird, but I feel like Im going to miss seeing Max every day, and my husband said he felt the same way.
Green Light Construction did a full bathroom remodel and updated our master bedroom with new closets and a built in set of drawers that runs the entire length of one bedroom wall. Maxwell and Matt are so easy to have around and are fun to work with. From design and all the way through the process we worked together with honesty and open minds. Our thoughts, ideas, concerns and questions were always listened to and they made certain that we were pleased every step of the way!The budget was honored, the timeline was met, the respect for our privacy and the cleanliness of the job sight and affected areas was a priority, and the work is beautiful! Maxwell works with electricians, plumbers, tilers, cabinet makers etc who are the best at what they do... they are loyal to him and work with the same values that Green Light prides themselves on. The entire experience was pretty painless, there was honesty, transparency, and, actually, a lot of fun every step of the way! We marvel at the beautiful transformation that occurred making the bathroom and bedroom so cool that we smile every time we walk in!We would highly recommend Green Light Construction.... they really want to make their customers happy and completely satisfied with the work they do.
Max and his team were just fantastic! He was very communicative and collaborative, always had the utmost concern for the quality of the job and the cleanliness of our house. It was a pleasure working with Green Light, and our bathroom remodel turned out just perfect. Would highly recommend!
Max and Matt were wonderful to work with. Max gave us a reasonably bid and did exactly what he said he was going to. They were very clean- we didnt notice any additional dirt or dust at all throughout the process because they laid down paper from the front door up the stairs to the bathroom. They took the time to sweep and vacuum nightly before they left. They showed up on time and worked hard. I would recommend them to any of our family and friends due to their punctuality, their friendliness, and their reasonable prices.
Maxwell replaced the front door on our 100+ year-old bungalow in NE Portland, and did a great job! He suggested a supplier and helped us select a quality door, was careful with all of the original woodwork surrounding the door, and got the installation done promptly and professionally. He cleaned everything up afterwards, and made sure that we were happy with the work and that the door was working well for us months later. I would highly recommend Green Light Construction to friends.
Green Light is amazing! Thoughtful and polite, conscientious and well-educated in their craft, these guys wont disappoint. I had them add an interior wall in my 1924 Craftsman with some alignment challenges. They creatively solved my problem while adding sweet touches, like finding the other side of a glass knob that was missing from the door. Max helped keep my costs down by reusing materials from elsewhere in my home, while also making great suggestions for long term benefits. They cleaned up after themselves and finished faster than expected. Highly recommend them!
Maxwell and crew have renovated my bathroom and living room. Im very pleased with the results, and would happily recommend them.
