The team did an excellent job of getting my F150 Trucks semi-custom AC installed and tested. I had an electrical issue with the truck not starting just as I pulled into their shop. They figured out the issue and repaired the transmission neutral safety switch as they completed the installation.
My truck is smiling :) I was a first time customer at Mac’s and needed help getting my car mirror fixed as well as a full inspection. I am very satisfied with their work. The manager Milo was excellent about keeping me updated throughout the whole process and you can really tell he cares about his customers. The car was sent back to me in perfect order and for a very fair price. All my expectations were exceeded and they certainly gained themselves a loyal customer. Mac’s is an outstanding example of a professional and respectable auto repair shop.
Im not sure which system an Alternator belongs in, but that is what they replaced. I was a drop in and they fit me in to their schedule. They even drove me home. The cost was more than I had been quoted at another place but I h ave had my car at MACS before and have been great fully satisfied with their work.
Rebuilt a residential heat exchanger for me. Way above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks Jason in the radiator department for the patience and creativity to roll with it
The people there were extremely nice and polite it was refreshing to go to a place where they have old school mannerism I will be going back to have some work done there.
They ordered the wrong radiator and fan kit due to a miscommunication. One phone call and they promptly ordered the correct kit which happened to be more expensive. Once the new kit arrived they swapped it for the incorrect kit and covered the difference in price. Very professional. Highly recommend.
Very poor value if youre trying to have a radiator rebuilt by them, I took my radiator in to have it rebuilt thinking it would be cheaper than buying a new one for 300 dollars. But then I got my quote back from macs 2 days later and they wanted to charge me 944 dollars just to put a new core in. And when I said that seemed pretty high considering you can get a whole new one for 300 the guy named Alex on the phone tried to be a funny guy and say well can you rebuild it in a smart a** voice and I replied obviously not thats why I brought it to you guys. Not professional and poor price in my opinion, I do not recommend their services.
Patrick was quick to get me in to repair my air conditioner. He was very professional and understanding.
Took my new Ebay radiator to them and see why it overheated my car. They found nothing wrong. I took it to Reliable radiator they found the cooling rows where plugged transmission connections no good and capacity was not as advertised. Lesson learned not going back to Macs again. If I need to be ripped off then ya Ill go back to Macs
These guys are awesome! Steve took my poor little supercharged 23 bucket from overheatingville to cool as ice! Car runs fantastic, take your car here!Had the bucket in for a cracked engine mount; as a er usual Steve and the folks at Mac’s saved me again by custom fabricating a new one- in and out no problem!!
After experiencing our truck over heating, both water and transmission while towing our 5th wheel in stop and go traffic. I made an appointment at macs radiator in Eugene Oregon . When I dropped my truck off I told the shop manager the problem we had and told him that we had not heard the engine fan come on, and it seemed that the radiator didnt seem to have good airflow. About an hour after dropping off truck the manger called and ask if I could stop back by and discuss what they had discovered. When I returned I was told that my problem was that my 5th wheel was to big for my truck and my temperature gauge was off by 50°. Now my truck is a 3500 HD Duramax with a tow rating of 16000 lbs and my 5th wheel is 30 ft and weighs 12000 lbs. All they wanted to do was change my gauge cluster for $600 plus labor. I refused their services, and felt insulted by their diagnosis. I have since took my truck elsewhere and had the radiator and fan clutch replaced. Surprise, no more overheating. I would not recommend Macs radiator repair in Eugene Oregon.
I use the repair facilities and they do wonderful work. I had my 57 Ford skylines completely redone under the hood, looks great and temp never goes over 190 even climbing hills or at the car shows. The best part of Macs is Milo a wonderful service manager.
Quick and reasonable evaluation of older radiator and reattach of side mount bracket. All cleaned up and painted, ready to go with confidence.
A/C issue and identified another issue that I was happy they found.
Radiator, it was ready when I got there was right one, fast friendly service, have used macs before and will do so again
Tha must think people are dumb quoted me 1200.00 for part goggle it 200.00 ...Will not send no to them ..Back in 1980 n1990 my father sent all he was able to them..Not me .
Great service! My radiator cracked and needed replacing ASAP. I called Mac’s the next morning, they gave me a quote, and had my Jeep in & out on the same day. Ask for Milo, he is great!
Great local business with wide selection of parts. They also have a great bunch of auto technicians who know there stuff and are priced well below a dealership.
This is the place to go for all your vehicle cooling or heating system needs parts repair and service and much more very friendly and customer orientated fairly priced and conveniently located as a lifetime mechanic I recommend Macs to my customers.
Macs tested and repaired my 1962 Triumph TR3 readitor in a couple of days. Good job at a fair price.
Had to go back twice due to misdiagnosis of my cars coolant fan, which needed to be replaced, which they missed on the first visit. They were nice enough to deduct the price of labor from the second visit when they replaced the coolant fan. I think I would go back if need be.
Radiator and fuel tank repair is what the do, and they do a great job.Orson approved
WARNING about taking your car to this business. Originally, I was very pleased to have my AC hose replaced, as well as AC Condenser. I paid a high price, but was glad to have cool air again, until I found out that the mechanic had broken both horns and left the splash pan off, which was supposed to attach to the bumper cover and another small piece next to the front wheel on the front passenger side. This dragged and fell off while driving.I tried many times to communicate this to Macs, so they could take responsibility and make this a happy ending, but each attempt was met with denial. What a great way to do business? I am left with another car repair. Just wanted to let you all know, especially girls, whom mechanics often take advantage of. I have also filed with Better Business Bureau. Hopefully Macs will change their ways.
Clean, well organized shop, professional technicians, friendly service - I love them. Macs is now my first choice auto repair shop.
We got a ton of work done on our 2005 camry. And by a ton, I mean a ton. The folks at Macs were honest, professional, and trustworthy. We are very thankful we found a mechanic that we trust- as we have had bad luck in the past. Highly recommend them for all of your auto needs
Thank you for doing such excellent work on our radiators! We look forward to having you service our vehicles as well.
Very friendly / helpful customer service here! Called with some questions about radiator replacement and got far more detailed answers than I had expected.Shout out to Gary for taking the time to give me advice! He may have just saved me over $700
I live about 90 miles above Seattle. I called on Wednesday, got a quote to include shipping, and received the item next day. Very Happy.
Thank you Macs for the fantastic job repairing a very rare heat exchanger for a laser cutting system. Timely, fast service, fair pricing, and great communication. You saved us a lot of time and money. Thank you again.Tony GMicron Laser Technology
Wish theyd have told me an hour after i dropped off my car it had too many issues, i waited for 5 hours to hear bad news. May as well kicked me in the stomach.
Macs Radiator far exceeded my expectations with a custom radiator build! I am a customer for life!
I brought my vehicle in for the first time to get it’s 90,000 mile service. I thought everyone was very friendly and the service overall was great. It was much cheaper then taking it to my dealership. Thank you for being in the neighborhood.
Our Toyota highlander had a cracked radiator and some hoses that needed to be replaced and at the same time realized we needed the brakes were done.the guys at Macs were great !! They Got the job done and at half the price the dealer wanted way to much i got a better warranty through Macs as well ...We will recommend Macs to our friends and to anyone looking for a quality friendly place to take there car, Thanks! to Macs for the great work their doing and for there commitment to customer service .
I took my car to Macs Automotive and radiator repair because I needed a new radiator. From the onset I was impressed. Milo kept me informed through the whole process as to what repairs were needed. He educated me about the repairs that needed to be done and why, I was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. I had received two estimates and by far Macs price was the best. Most importantly the work done was impressive. My car is running like a champ. I also received an extended warranty and that was a plus. Thank you Milo for getting me back on the road.Ramona
Dana and Alex very professional and helpful. Price for inner cooler was $700.00 less than Ford. We have used Macs for nearly 50 years and will continue. No better place.
If you are wondering, dont.I was wondering about my car issues, which at first I thought was superficial (old radiator tubes, maybe low a/c), but I was wrong. These guys are where it is at, and I am sure the other Macs are good even if they are a 1/10th this one. Milo was by far the most customer focused Service Manager I have ever experienced. He must be employing the right people too because they were friendly (spoke to one at the front when I first arrived. I waved at him because why not, and he then TOOK IT UPON HIMSELF to ask if I was coming to Macs and if I was to pull around back.(I think it was Mike!)) and incredibly thorough at inspections. I wouldnt be surprised if they all have Criminal Justice degrees with the level of detective work they put in.A little pricey, but you will get it done right and not have anxiety or stress whether corners were cut.
Excellent job and on time friendly people and courteous.
I had them check out my radiator for my mini excavator. They cleaned it flow/ pressure tested it and returned it within 2 days for around $65 dollars. Thats great service at a great value.
Paid nearly $500 to have a filler neck moved and subsequent hole patched, vent and return barbs added and tank lined. Honestly I would have been able to get over the price if the quality of work matched the amount they charge. The welds look absolutely terrible, if you are concerned about the aesthetics or will have inspections at car shows, this is not the place to go. Actually, at $110/hr, I wouldn’t recommend this place for fuel tank modifications to anyone given the quality. They ground off paint to complete the welds, but only primed over the welds so I now have rust forming on my brand new tank that will need to be removed before I prime and paint over it. 2 stars because they followed directions (I pre measured and marked everything for them), and the customer service was good. I’ll be covering this tank in bedliner to hide the issues. I feel guilty leaving this poor review, but I just can’t believe what I paid for this level of work. Friends of mine have used A&B Radiator and Speedometer in Vancouver with a much higher quality of work for a fraction of the price, but I thought I’d use someone local to Oregon instead. Lesson learned.
Semi truck radiator cracked. Somehow Ive maded to TA shop in Troutdale.so next day my boss called Macs automotive to get radiator so lady answered to verify that they do have radiator for freightliner cascadia. So when I showed up at location for pickup fat dude at counter be like we dont carry radiator for big rig. This place deserve 0 star
Pressure tested, cleaned my radiator and heater core for my yanmar excavator for just over 100$, yanmar wanted 700 alone for new heater core, so they saved me a ton of money and only took a couple of days as well!!!
From the very start, I was confident that I made the right choice selecting Macs to fix the radiator on my Ford F150.Initially, when I had my radiator unsuccessfully flushed at the local oil change franchise, I was concerned that I would be looking for a new radiator before things got really bad-and the cost of repairs became astronomical. When I called Macs for a quote, and explained the details, Milo listened and suggested that the radiator was fine. Instead, he reccomended a reverse flush, and by choosing this alternative, Milo saved me a small fortune in parts. labor, and, most importantly, time!During the process, Milo was diligent in keeping me informed with the details; he expertly laid out the steps of the entire process, and took this a little further by telling me WHY they took the steps they did. I was informed of any additional parts that may need to be replaced, but Milo never tried to sell me something I didnt need.24 hours after I dropped my truck off, it was ready to go. The job was done on time, my truck runs great, and I saved a pile of hard-earned cash. To top it all off, the Macs crew went to great lengths to ensure MY safety in this age of COVID-19. Not only were they respectful of social distancing during the transaction, they went to GREAT lengths to ensure that my truck and the keys were appropriately sanitized before passing them back to me!Thank you, Macs Automotive & Radiator Repair for an outstanding repair experience. I will keep you all in mind the next time I need a repair, and to anyone reading this review, I highly recommend Macs Automotive & Radiator Repair. You wont be disappointed.
Checked our issues, great service up front with valuable information, go here.
Macs has been around since 1947. Do the math. Thats 73 years of working on radiators. Youd think they would recognize the importance of details like getting the base grommets the proper length - the first time they work on it. I did not measure the bottom grommets because I made the mistake of thinking they would be sure and use the proper-sized ones. After getting the radiator home, I reattached it to the tractor and soon recognized that the fan blade would rub on the bottom of the shroud attached to the radiator. I spoke with the gal at the front desk prior to taking the radiator home (after essentially a complete overhaul costing $370 and change) the first time about the bottom grommet attachments. She handed me some part of one that they had cut off, so I couldnt tell if the new ones were the proper length. Long story (a little) shorter, I had to go back to Macs in Portland (I live just outside of Molalla) to get them to put on attachments with grommets that were 1/4 shorter. (Please note that putting on the radiator and taking it off again because of improperly sized grommets is not something a person wants to do. Yes, I put this on them.) The gal at the from desk used the words, Ill have to give you a $16 (and change) credit because these new ones are a little more expensive when I got back to the shop and gave her the radiator for replacements. I wasnt sure what that meant - but came to find out that it must have meant we are going to charge you an additional $16.75 bringing my total to pennies under $388.00... OUCH!!! What do new radiators cost? No, I dont think they should have charged me anything for installing the proper grommets (with bolt studs through them) - under the circumstances. My hope is that they did a good job otherwise. But only time will tell. They only provide a one year warranty. I think taking away two stars out of five is appropriate given my circumstances. I
We have taken all of our cars over the years to Mac’s and have been treated exceptionally each and every time, no matter the issue. The pricing is fair, the mechanics are kind, the work is always perfect and long lasting. Finding a mechanic you can trust can be challenging so we happily recommend Mac’s to every person we know when they have a car issue or even just a question. I’d give 10 stars if I could!
I had the best experience at Macs Automotive and Radiator repair. I called at the last moment as my Jeep was having issues before a big road trip. They got me in that day and even though the repair took two days (because they had to order the part), it was done by the next morning and ready to be picked up. While they had my Jeep, they gave me one of their vehicles so I could get to and from work. Overall, a great experience. Garrett especially was very friendly and professional. He took great care of me and I walked away feeling very confident and with my mind at ease about my trip. I would definitely recommend Macs auto and will my other two vehicles there!. Thanks Mac!!!
Service was excellent, communication was professional and quick. Great staff and solid work on my radiator. Would definitely recommend!
Working on a customers old truck we needed a part that literally did not exist. Within a few hours they had one built and delivered at a very fair price. Once again Dana and her crew at Macs came through!
This place was awesome and I would totally recommend it to anyone! I thought my starter had died but it turned out a wire just came loose. They didnt charge me for anything more than .7 hours of work and didnt try selling me on anything extra. It was. It was a nice relief to have someone honest and prompt take care of my car in just a couple of hours. Bring your car here if you need any basic maintenance done
Took a radiator in, they quoted me a price and the next day it was done and $30 cheaper then what they quoted. Honest and fast turn around.
Milo in Service is knowledgeable and helpful. Pricing is much better than my dealer. These guys gave fast service and fixed my A/C when nobody else could. Im a customer for life now!
I just came in to ask some questions and they were very friendly and helpful and pointed me to the right people
Macs (on Foster) is my go-to for auto repairs. They know what theyre doing and are able to explain it to laypeople like me. They answer my questions patiently and then get the work in a timely manner. Their estimates of how long a job will take are usually quite accurate, which is really helpful for planning things on my end. Sometimes they have little loaner car which is sooo helpful--I only wish they had a second one for when one is in us. The front end people, the mechanics... Ive only ever had good experiences in person and on the phone and my car is in great shape.
You are absolutely correct and I apologize
Great service fixed a huge hole in my radiator in two days wasnt expecting that at all
If I remember right it was Daina (front counter) that had to deal with me. Most sales people may have given me the address of their competitor and instructions as how to get there. But, she was very patient and did not complain about all the times I changer my mind. Very nice and very helpful lady with a great personality. Keep her around as she will make you money. Thanks,Bill
Quality workmanship
Very nice the lady and the gentleman at the counter was unbelievable they did everything to help me i was there 1 day the quoted me a price it was $50 more then another place so I tried to save $50 that was a mistake I bought the cheaper radiator and everything was wrong with it so I went back down to Macs to see if i could buy parts for the cheaper radiator this is after going to 4 autoparts stores to find the parts they didnt have it either so I ended up buying the radiator from Macs and taking the other one back dont try to save money just buy the damn radiator from Macs they had the right radiator the whole time and I wasted 3 days to try and save $50 its not worth buy the radiator from Macs put it in your truck and its working great thanks
Mac’s treated our Company with Great service!!! The Amount that was quoted, was the total price we were charged! And above all, Milo stayed in great communication, thanks again Portland Fence Co.
Well they used to do a good job but not anymore... I called to insure the parts were in stock but after driving for an hour alas they did not. Of course they were willing to order the right parts and have me drive another hour to come get them at my expense. But they weren’t even willing to discount or ship it directly to me for their mistake. This is the second time we have had this sort of issue. I ended up ordering it elsewhere and having to wait an extra day, but it was cheaper elsewhere anyway.
Apologies for posting this under my online gamer tag, but my recommendation is Macs is terrific! I have been using the Beaverton location for five years now, from oil changes to major mechanical work. They have always been priced right with exceptional work. Highly recommended!!
Drove down from Enumclaw WA with the gas tank out of my 1951 Nash Statesman, to say the least parts are hard to find and having this gas tank cleaned and sealed was the way to go. Mac`s did a great job.
Great to work with!
Got an oil change. The work was great, but the highlight of my morning was in dealing with the office manager, Milo. Hes so kind and patient. Definitely recommend this place!
This shop is great!! All of the employees were very nice & explained everything that needed to be done to my a/c BEFORE I accepted their offer. They said it may take until the next day & they provided me with a loaner car at no cost. My car was ready in 4 hours---the same day!!!! Try and find that service anywhere!!!! I will definitely recommend this shop!
Milo and his team are the absolute best! They do a fantastic job and a their services are a great value!!
Very well done good place to do business
Job well done prompt delivery. My tractor radiator never looked so good.or functioned so well.
Five years ago Macs welded a universal alunimum radiator mounting brackets fan brackets and a drain. After a failed head gasket on my blown stroker it ballooned the radiator and was leaking. After talking with James here assured fast turn around along with delivery to the Portland branch and back to Beaverton (drive time didnt allow me to get there after work) with precision welded brackets and a drain AGAIN years later thanks guys!!
We started going to Macs because it was a couple blocks away from the house we moved into. Years later we are still there because they have proven to be reliable, affordable and friendly. One one particular quote they came in at 4 times lower than the Toyota dealership we had been going to.
Labor rates are too high. Reply to Owner: I understand the costs of doing business but the quote I received from Macs for replacing the Heater Core on my 1989 Mustang (which as you know is very labor intensive) was $1,300 and Gresham Ford quoted $850. Dealers are typically much higher than independent shops but not in this case. I eventually found a shop in Gresham that replaced the Heater Core and did an excellent for $550 parts and labor.
This was my second encounter with Macs. I am as pleased with the service as I was the first time. They had my car ready when they said they would and they kept the cost to their first estimate. I will continue to use their services whenever I might need them.
Over priced, ever found the part I really needed.will never go there for repair
They always seem to come through. I have an older vehicle-and they keep it running smoothly so I don’t have to worry about anything. They help bring happiness, cuz I enjoy the classics! Thank you! Appreciate all you guys do there.
This is the best auto shop in Portland!! The mechanics are awesome, the rates are amazing the service is fast and friendly!! A special thank you to a great mechanic and a man I get to personally call my friend, Kevin, for always taking such good care of my car! I honestly don’t know much about cars and Mac’s always keeps my car looking and running great!!
Long time history with this company
Honest and fast service!! Highly recommend these guys.
The heater in my SUV went out this week. I was worried with the colder weather coming in next week, the truck would be difficult to drive without proper defrost for the windshield. I called Macs and they got me in the next day. They replaced the blower Motor and relay. I also had them change the oil while it was there and they installed a heavy duty serpentine belt which I requested. The service was great and the work was done in a timely fashion at a fair price. I like spending my money at a locally owned family business whenever I can. I will definitely use them in the future.
Had my truck in for a heater core replacement last fall. I communicated clearly to the shop that there was also a problem with the air conditioning that I would like looked at. Part of replacing the heater core required discharging the refrigerant in the a/c system, so it was a good time to fix both. When the service manager called to get my approval for the work to be performed, he said there was NOTHING WRONG with the a/c, so they would just re-charge it when they completed the heater core replacement. Fine - paid the $1000 repair bill and went on my way. Come to find out now that the weather is warm, the a/c doesnt work. I took it back in, and was told that there were no notes in my records to indicate that the a/c had even been looked at in the first place. Why was it not looked at when I specifically requested it, several times? If they didnt even look at it, why was I specifically told nothing was wrong with it? Now they want another $875 to fix the a/c, when I paid $220 for labor and materials to recharge the system last fall for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. The service manager offered to discharge and recharge the system for free this time, IF I have the work done there, which is not going to happen. Perhaps if they had offered me a refund on the overcharge, I may have considered it. I wont trust them with my vehicle again after they put their hands in my pocket and stole $220 that they werent entitled to. Now I have to pay someone else to do the same work again.

Have been here 3 times for different radiators. No beating around the Bush here. Prices are right and jobs are excellent. Customer service is also outstanding. Actually 4 times. Dropped off another one today, keep up the great job guys!!
I dont know how the service is here in Boise. But the employee that was driving West from the connector towards Nampa around 6:30 wasnt even looking where they were going. They were driving an older f150 single cab pickup with the logo on the back and doors. They changed lanes and almost wrecked into me. Just oblivious to everyone around them. They didnt even look in the next lane over. Then as I followed they were speeding. I had to go 75 plus to catch up to them. I wanted to ensure I knew the name on the vehicle. Please teach your employees how to drive. I hope his driving is not a reflection of the service at this business. It wasnt just a lane change it was aggressive driving and speeding. I was trying to get a picture but couldnt because they were going close to 80 in a 65mph zone. They cut off several others in the several miles I could still view them.
Sincere and good old fashioned customer service - had my radiator replaced at a reasonable price...though they were very full, I needed the work done soon and they accommodated by doing the job the next day. There was a small issue when I got the car back and they immediately corrected it and then even refunded some money. The guys at the service counter, Travis, Tyson and Bryant were all courteous, professional and excellent with communications. All around positive experience and highly recommended.p.s. another good thing about Macs is they know how to work on antique cars and often have them in the garage.
I love Macs they always do a great job! Most important to me, is I know I can trust them.
Wow. Great customer service is still alive and well. I traveled from Medford to Portland for a business meeting on Friday and my radiator sprung a leak in downtown Portland. Called Macs and they got me right in. The part would not arrive until Monday, but I was planning on staying in Lincoln city until Sunday anyway. They provided a loaner car and the repairs were made in a timely manner on Monday. Cant say enough about jay and the team taking good care of us. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. No need to go anywhere else for these repairs and maintenance.
Such a great Company they are so great to do the work for you and they fixed my car and helped me get back on the road again! I would highly recommend them!
Every time I go here I leave feeling flushed. But in à good way. Im a radiator of good will. They always beat the dealer costwise.
Great service. They had to re core a piece for me. They helped me load it, took payment over the phone. My pregnant wife had to pick it up by herself they made sure to bring it out to her and she didn’t even have to get out of the car. Thanks for the great experience.
Enjoyed doing business with these guys other than the bill. The radiatorwas for our motorhome, they took the time to explain the different typesor styles that we could use and the benefits of each and the cost !
Macs put in a new radiator and saved me a few dollars. Great Job, will be back.
One day turn around to repair an aluminum radiator damaged in transit by poor packaging from the manufacturer. Great repair at a fair price. Would recommend and use again.
At first I was a little taken aback but reluctantly paid the bill. I dropped of 4 sides of radiators for 2 little KTM 50cc bikes. I had written on the one that it was Good with a paint pen and bad on 3 with the date with a paint pen. They tested them and said they couldnt fix them. In fairness I wasnt there and had my father-in-law drop them off and pick them up. I had a bill of $120 and a tag on 3 radiators that said bad (I already knew that) and good.(already knew that too) When I got home I thought well at least I can see where the leak was and then try and repair them myself (JB Weld) but they were not marked. I now paid $120 to get back my radiators that I already new 3 were bad and one was good. Needless to say I was upset. I called and talked to Jason a manger there. He explained what had happened and said that unless a customer asks to have them mark the leak area they dont. He said that hed be happy to do that for me and just to bring them back in.
Great service and affordable. Highly recommend it.
Ive been doing business with Macs since 2001. For AC parts and hose repairs, radiator repairs and restorations, they always come through. Great people to work with.
